This paper addresses a piecewise affine (PWA) approximation problem, i.e., a problem of finding a PWA system model which approximates a given nonlinear system. First, we propose a new class of PWA systems, called the Lebesgue PWA approximation systems, as a model to approximate nonlinear systems. Next, we derive an error bound of the PWA approximation model, and provide a technique for constructing the approximation model with specified accuracy. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a gene regulatory network with nonlinear dynamics, which shows that the method is a useful approximation tool.  相似文献

The optimal tracking control (OTC) problem for a class of affine nonlinear composite systems with similar structure is considered. By using a modeling technique, the nonlinear similar composite system is first transformed into some quasi-decoupled subsystems. Then the high-order, strongly coupled, nonlinear two-point boundary value (TPBV) problem is transformed into a sequence of linear decoupled TPBV problems through a successive approximation procedure. The obtained OTC law consists of an accurate linear term and a nonlinear compensation term which is the limit of the adjoint vector sequence. A suboptimal tracking control law is obtained by truncating a finite iterative result of the adjoint vector sequence as its nonlinear compensation term.  相似文献

An Exact Solution Method for Reliability Optimization in Complex Systems   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Systems reliability plays an important role in systems design, operation and management. Systems reliability can be improved by adding redundant components or increasing the reliability levels of subsystems. Determination of the optimal amount of redundancy and reliability levels among various subsystems under limited resource constraints leads to a mixed-integer nonlinear programming problem. The continuous relaxation of this problem in a complex system is a nonconvex nonseparable optimization problem with certain monotone properties. In this paper, we propose a convexification method to solve this class of continuous relaxation problems. Combined with a branch-and-bound method, our solution scheme provides an efficient way to find an exact optimal solution to integer reliability optimization in complex systems. Uncertainty is unavoidable in modeling dynamical systems and it may be represented mathematically by differential inclusions. In the past, we proposed an algorithm to compute validated solutions of differential inclusions; here we provide several theoretical improvements to the algorithm, including its extension to piecewise constant and sinusoidal approximations of uncertain inputs, updates on the affine approximation bounds and a generalized formula for the analytical error. The approach proposed is able to achieve higher order convergence with respect to the current state-of-the-art. We implemented the methodology in Ariadne, a library for the verification of continuous and hybrid systems. For evaluation purposes, we introduce ten systems from the literature, with varying degrees of nonlinearity, number of variables and uncertain inputs. The results are hereby compared with two state-of-the-art approaches to time-varying uncertainties in nonlinear systems.  相似文献

This article presents conditions for global input-to-state stability (ISS) and stabilization of discrete-time, possibly discontinuous, piecewise affine (PWA) systems. Piecewise quadratic, possibly discontinuous candidate ISS Lyapunov functions are employed for both analysis and synthesis purposes. This enables us to obtain sufficient conditions based on linear matrix inequalities, which can be solved efficiently. One of the advantages of using the ISS framework is that additive disturbance inputs are explicitly taken into account in the analysis and synthesis procedures. Furthermore, the results apply to PWA systems in their full generality, i.e. non-zero affine terms are allowed in the regions in the partition whose closure contains the origin.  相似文献

A discrete optimal control model is given according to the discrete nonlinear dynamic system of continuous fermentations of glycerol to 1,3-propanediol (1,3-PD). The property of some major functions and their bounds on approximation errors are studied in this paper. Then, the conclusion that the optimality function of discrete optimal control model is the consistent approximation to one of the continuous optimal control model is proved. The results presented in this work can be used as guidelines for the optimal algorithm and its convergence.  相似文献

This article is devoted to the problem of robust stabilization of uncertain nonlinear switched systems with canonical structure. It is assumed that the constant parameters of the subsystems are unknown and cannot be adopted in the controller design. In addition, the dynamics of the subsystems are perturbed via modeling errors and external disturbances. The effects of unknown actuator saturation are compensated via proper adaptive control signals. The derived controller is based on the terminal sliding mode theory and does not need any prior knowledge about the bounds of the lumped uncertain terms. It is proved that once the system states reach the prescribed sliding manifold in a finite time interval, the whole system becomes insensitive to both the lumped uncertainties and the switching dynamics of the system. The common assumption of having known quadratic Lyapunov functions for the subsystems is relaxed and the derived adaptive approach does not force any limitation on the switching signal of the system. Subsequently, non-conservative conditions are provided to guarantee the global finite time bounded stability of the equilibrium state for the overall uncertain nonlinear switched system under arbitrary switching signals. A numerical computer simulation demonstrates the robust performance of the proposed controller.  相似文献

In fed-batch culture of glycerol bio-dissimilation to 1, 3-propanediol (1, 3-PD), the aim of adding glycerol is to obtain as much 1, 3-PD as possible. So a proper feeding rate is required during the process. Taking the concentration of 1, 3-PD at the terminal time as the performance index and the feeding rate of glycerol as the control function, we propose an optimal control model subject to a nonlinear dynamical system and constraints of continuous state and non-stationary control. A computational approach is constructed to seek the solution of the above model in two aspects. On the one hand we transcribe the optimal control model into an unconstrained one based on the penalty functions and an extension of the state space; on the other hand, by approximating the control function with simple functions, we transform the unconstrained optimal control problem into a sequence of nonlinear programming problems, which can be solved using gradient-based optimization techniques. The convergence analysis of this approximation is also investigated. Numerical results show that, by employing the optimal control policy, the concentration of 1, 3-PD at the terminal time can be increased considerably.  相似文献

We present an approach to compute optimal control functions in dynamic models based on one-dimensional partial differential algebraic equations (PDAE). By using the method of lines, the PDAE is transformed into a large system of usually stiff ordinary differential algebraic equations and integrated by standard methods. The resulting nonlinear programming problem is solved by the sequential quadratic programming code NLPQL. Optimal control functions are approximated by piecewise constant, piecewise linear or bang-bang functions. Three different types of cost functions can be formulated. The underlying model structure is quite flexible. We allow break points for model changes, disjoint integration areas with respect to spatial variable, arbitrary boundary and transition conditions, coupled ordinary and algebraic differential equations, algebraic equations in time and space variables, and dynamic constraints for control and state variables. The PDAE is discretized by difference formulae, polynomial approximations with arbitrary degrees, and by special update formulae in case of hyperbolic equations. Two application problems are outlined in detail. We present a model for optimal control of transdermal diffusion of drugs, where the diffusion speed is controlled by an electric field, and a model for the optimal control of the input feed of an acetylene reactor given in form of a distributed parameter system.  相似文献

This paper presents a new computational approach for solving optimal control problems governed by impulsive switched systems. Such systems consist of multiple subsystems operating in succession, with possible instantaneous state jumps occurring when the system switches from one subsystem to another. The control variables are the subsystem durations and a set of system parameters influencing the state jumps. In contrast with most other papers on the control of impulsive switched systems, we do not require every potential subsystem to be active during the time horizon (it may be optimal to delete certain subsystems, especially when the optimal number of switches is unknown). However, any active subsystem must be active for a minimum non-negligible duration of time. This restriction leads to a disjoint feasible region for the subsystem durations. The problem of choosing the subsystem durations and the system parameters to minimize a given cost function is a non-standard optimal control problem that cannot be solved using conventional techniques. By combining a time-scaling transformation and an exact penalty method, we develop a computational algorithm for solving this problem. We then demonstrate the effectiveness of this algorithm by considering a numerical example on the optimization of shrimp harvesting operations.  相似文献

In this article, we propose a robust tube-based MPC formulation for a class of hybrid systems, namely autonomously switched PWA systems, with bounded additive disturbances. The term tube-based refers to those control techniques whose objective is to maintain all possible trajectories of the uncertain system inside a tube which is a set around the nominal (or reference) system trajectory, that is free from disturbances. Common methods in tube-based control systems consider an error dynamical system as the difference between the state of the nominal system and the state of the perturbed system. However, this definition of the error dynamical system leads to a complicated switched affine system for PWA systems. Therefore, we use a new notion of the reference system similar to the nominal system except that the switching between the various modes of the PWA system is driven by the state of the real system. Using this reference system instead of the nominal system leads us to an error dynamical system that can be modeled as a switched linear system. We employ a switched linear controller to stabilize this error system under arbitrary switching. This auxiliary controller forces the states of the uncertain system to remain in a tube confined to the invariant set around the state of the reference system. We add new constraints and tighten some other constraints of the nominal hybrid MPC for the reference system, in order to ensure convergence of the uncertain system and to guarantee robust exponential stability of the closed-loop system.  相似文献

This paper presents a new online identification algorithm to drive an adaptive affine dynamic model for nonlinear and time-varying processes. The new algorithm is devised on the basis of an adaptive neuro-fuzzy modeling approach. Two adaptive neuro-fuzzy models are sequentially identified on the basis of the most recent input-output process data to realize an online affine-type model. A series of simulation test studies has been conducted to demonstrate the efficient capabilities of the proposed algorithm to automatically identify an online affine-type model for two highly nonlinear and time-varying continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) benchmark problems having inherent non-affine dynamic model representations. Adequacy assessments of the identified models have been explored using different evaluation measures, including comparison with an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) as the pioneering and the most popular adaptive neuro-fuzzy system with powerful modeling features.  相似文献

This paper addresses an adaptive output-feedback tracking problem of arbitrarily switched pure-feedback nonlinear systems with time-varying output constraints and unknown control directions. In this work, the tracking problem of switched non-affine nonlinear systems with output constraints is transformed into the stabilization problem of switched unconstrained affine systems. The main contribution of this paper is to present a universal formula for constructing an adaptive state-observer-based tracking controller with only two adaptive parameters by using the common Lyapunov function method. These adaptive parameters in the proposed control scheme are derived using the function approximation technique and a priori knowledge of the signs of control gain functions is not required. The theoretical analysis is presented for the Lyapunov stability and the constraint satisfaction of the resulting closed-loop system in the presence of arbitrary switchings.  相似文献

In this paper the set of trajectories of the control system is investigated. It is assumed that the behavior of the control system is described by a Volterra integral equation which is nonlinear with respect to the state vector and is affine with respect to the control vector, and the control functions have an integral constraint. An approximation of the set of trajectories by the set which consists of a finite number of trajectories is given. The paper is devoted to the problem of constructing external estimates for the reachable set of a multidimensional control system by means of vector estimators. A system is considered that permits a decomposition into several independent subsystems with simple structure (for example, linear subsystems), which are connected to each other by means of nonlinear interconnections. For each of the subsystems, an external estimate of the reachable set is assumed to be known; this estimate is representable in the form of a level set of some function satisfying a differential inequality. An estimate for the reachable set of the combined system is constructed with the use of estimates for subsystems. The method of deriving the estimates is based on constructing comparison systems for analogs of vector Lyapunov functions (value functions).  相似文献

We present a specialized policy iteration method for the computation of optimal and approximately optimal policies for a discrete-time model of a single reservoir whose discharges generate hydroelectric power. The model is described in (Lamond et al., 1995) and (Drouin et al., 1996), where the special structure of optimal policies is given and an approximate value iteration method is presented, using piecewise affine approximations of the optimal return functions. Here, we present a finite method for computing an optimal policy in O(n3) arithmetic operations, where n is the number of states in the associated Markov decision process, and a finite method for computing a lower bound on the optimal value function in O(m2n) where m is the number of nodes of the piecewise affine approximation.  相似文献
