The concept of quasi‐affine frame in Euclidean spaces was introduced to obtain translation invariance of the discrete wavelet transform. We extend this concept to a local field K of positive characteristic. We show that the affine system generated by a finite number of functions is an affine frame if and only if the corresponding quasi‐affine system is a quasi‐affine frame. In such a case the exact frame bounds are equal. This result is obtained by using the properties of an operator associated with two such affine systems. We characterize the translation invariance of such an operator. A related concept is that of co‐affine system. We show that there do not exist any co‐affine frame in .  相似文献

If ψ ∈ L2(R), Λ is a discrete subset of the affine groupA =R + ×R, and w: Λ →R + is a weight function, then the weighted wavelet system generated by ψ, Λ, and w is . In this article we define lower and upper weighted densities D w (Λ) and D w + (Λ) of Λ with respect to the geometry of the affine group, and prove that there exist necessary conditions on a weighted wavelet system in order that it possesses frame bounds. Specifically, we prove that if W(ψ, Λ, w) possesses an upper frame bound, then the upper weighted density is finite. Furthermore, for the unweighted case w = 1, we prove that if W(ψ, Λ, 1) possesses a lower frame bound and D w +−1) < ∞, then the lower density is strictly positive. We apply these results to oversampled affine systems (which include the classical affine and the quasi-affine systems as special cases), to co-affine wavelet systems, and to systems consisting only of dilations, obtaining some new results relating density to the frame properties of these systems.  相似文献

We study time-continuous Gabor frame generating window functions g satisfying decay properties in time and/or frequency with particular emphasis on rational time-frequency lattices. Specifically, we show under what conditions these decay properties of g are inherited by its minimal dual γ0 and by generalized duals γ. We consider compactly supported, exponentially decaying, and faster than exponentially decaying (i.e., decay like |g(t)|≤Ce−α|t| 1/α for some 1/2≤α<1) window functions. Particularly, we find that g and γ0 have better than exponential decay in both domains if and only if the associated Zibulski-Zeevi matrix is unimodular, i.e., its determinant is a constant. In the case of integer oversampling, unimodularity of the Zibulski-Zeevi matrix is equivalent to tightness of the underlying Gabor frame. For arbitrary oversampling, we furthermore consider tight Gabor frames canonically associated to window functions g satisfying certain decay properties. Here, we show under what conditions and to what extent the canonically associated tight frame inherits decay properties of g. Our proofs rely on the Zak transform, on the Zibulski-Zeevi representation of the Gabor frame operator, on a result by Jaffard, on a functional calculus for Gabor frame operators, on results from the theory of entire functions, and on the theory of polynomial matrices.  相似文献

In this paper, necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for the irregular shearlet systems to be frames are studied. We show that the irregular shearlet systems to possess upper frame bounds, the space‐scale‐shear parameters must be relatively separated. We prove that if the irregular shearlet systems possess the lower frame bound and the space‐scale‐shear parameters satisfy certain condition, then the lower shearlet density is strictly positive. We apply these results to systems consisting only of dilations, obtaining some new results relating density to the frame properties of these systems. We prove that for a feasible class of shearlet generators introduced by P. Kittipoom et al., each relatively separated sequence with sufficiently hight density will generate a frame. Explicit frame bounds are given. We also study the stability of shearlet frames and show that a frame generated by certain shearlet function remains a frame when the space‐scale‐shear parameters and the generating function undergo small perturbations. Explicit stability bounds are given. Using pseudo‐spline functions of type I and II, we construct a family of irregular shearlet frames consisting of compactly supported shearlets to illustrate our results.  相似文献

The objective of this paper is to investigate the question of modifying a given generalized Bessel sequence to yield a generalized frame or a tight generalized frame by finite extension. Some necessary and sufficient conditions for the finite extensions of generalized Bessel sequences to generalized frames or tight generalized frames are provided, and every result is illustrated by the corresponding example.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the notion of partial affine system that is a subset of an affine system. It has potential applications in signal analysis. A general affine system has been extensively studied; however, the partial one has not. The main focus of this paper is on partial affine system–based frames and dual frames. We obtain a necessary condition and a sufficient condition for a partial affine system to be a frame and present a characterization of partial affine system–based dual frames. An equiangular tight frame (ETF) is a set of unit vectors whose coherence achieves the Welch bound, and so is as incoherent as possible. Though they arise in many applications, only a few methods for constructing them are known. Motivated by the connection between real ETFs and graph theory, we introduce the notion of ETFs that are symmetric about their centroid. We then discuss how well-known constructions, such as harmonic ETFs and Steiner ETFs, can have centroidal symmetry. Finally, we establish a new equivalence between centroid-symmetric real ETFs and certain types of strongly regular graphs (SRGs). Together, these results give the first proof of the existence of certain SRGs, as well as the disproofs of the existence of others.  相似文献

By a “reproducing” method forH =L 2(ℝ n ) we mean the use of two countable families {e α : α ∈A}, {f α : α ∈A}, inH, so that the first “analyzes” a function h ∈H by forming the inner products {<h,e α >: α ∈A} and the second “reconstructs” h from this information:h = Σα∈A <h,e α >:f α. A variety of such systems have been used successfully in both pure and applied mathematics. They have the following feature in common: they are generated by a single or a finite collection of functions by applying to the generators two countable families of operators that consist of two of the following three actions: dilations, modulations, and translations. The Gabor systems, for example, involve a countable collection of modulations and translations; the affine systems (that produce a variety of wavelets) involve translations and dilations. A considerable amount of research has been conducted in order to characterize those generators of such systems. In this article we establish a result that “unifies” all of these characterizations by means of a relatively simple system of equalities. Such unification has been presented in a work by one of the authors. One of the novelties here is the use of a different approach that provides us with a considerably more general class of such reproducing systems; for example, in the affine case, we need not to restrict the dilation matrices to ones that preserve the integer lattice and are expanding on ℝ n . Another novelty is a detailed analysis, in the case of affine and quasi-affine systems, of the characterizing equations for different kinds of dilation matrices.  相似文献

In this paper we construct multivariate tight wavelet frame decompositions for scalar and vector subdivision schemes with nonnegative masks. The constructed frame generators have one vanishing moment and are obtained by factorizing certain positive semi-definite matrices. The construction is local and allows us to obtain framelets even in the vicinity of irregular vertices. Constructing tight frames, instead of wavelet bases, we avoid extra computations of the dual masks. In addition, the frame decomposition algorithm is stable as the discrete frame transform is an isometry on ?2?2, if the data are properly normalized.  相似文献

We present a simple proof of Ron and Shen's frame bounds estimates for Gabor frames. The proof is based on the Heil and Walnut's representation of the frame operator and shows that it can be decomposed into a continuous family of infinite matrices. The estimates then follow from a simple application of Gershgorin's theorem to each matrix. Next, we show that, if the window function has exponential decay, also the dual function has some exponential decay. Then, we describe a numerical method to compute the dual function and give an estimate of the error. Finally, we consider the spline of order 2; we investigate numerically the region of the time-frequency plane where it generates a frame and we compute the dual function for some values of the parameters.  相似文献

The fiberization of affine systems via dual Gramian techniques, which was developed in previous papers of the authors, is applied here for the study of affine frames that have an affine dual system. Gramian techniques are also used to verify whether a dual pair of affine frames is also a pair of bi-orthogonal Riesz bases. A general method for a painless derivation of a dual pair of affine frames from an arbitrary MRA is obtained via the mixed extension principle. Density conditions for wavelet systems with arbitrary sampling points to be frames are studied. We show that for a wavelet system generated by admissible functions with irregular affine lattices to be a frame, the sampling points must have a positive lower affine Beurling density. For an invertible n×n matrix B and Φ a finite or countable subset of L2(Rn), consider the collection X={?(·-Bk):?∈Φ,kZn} generating the closed subspace M of L2(Rn). Our main objects of interest in this paper are the kernel of the associated Gramian G(.) and dual Gramian operator-valued functions. We show in particular that the orthogonal complement of M in L2(Rn) can be generated by a Parseval frame obtained from a shift-invariant system having m generators where . Furthermore, this Parseval frame can be taken to be an orthonormal basis exactly when almost everywhere. Analogous results in terms of dim(Ker(G(.))) are also obtained concerning the existence of a collection of m sequences in the orthogonal complement of the range of analysis operator associated with the frame X whose shifts either form a Parseval frame or an orthonormal basis for that orthogonal complement.  相似文献

This is a continuation of the investigation into the theory of wavelet frames for general affine subspaces. The main focus of this paper is on the structural properties of affine subspaces. We show that every affine subspace is the orthogonal direct sum of at most three purely non-reducing subspaces, while every reducing subspace (with respect to the dilation and translation operators) is the orthogonal direct sum of two purely non-reducing ones. This result is obtained through considering the basic question as to when the orthogonal complement of an affine subspace in another one is still affine. Motivated by the fundamental question as to whether every affine subspace is singly-generated, and by a recent result that every singly generated purely non-reducing subspace admits a singly generated wavelet frame, we prove that every affine subspace can be decomposed into the direct sum of a singly generated affine subspace and some space of “small size”. As a consequence we establish a connection between the above mentioned two questions.  相似文献

In this article we consider the question when one can generate a Weyl- Heisenberg frame for l 2 (ℤ) with shift parameters N, M −1 (integer N, M) by sampling a Weyl-Heisenberg frame for L 2 (ℝ) with the same shift parameters at the integers. It is shown that this is possible when the window g ε L 2 (ℝ) generating the Weyl-Heisenberg frame satisfies an appropriate regularity condition at the integers. When, in addition, the Tolimieri-Orr condition A is satisfied, the minimum energy dual window o γ ε L 2 (ℝ) can be sampled as well, and the two sampled windows continue to be related by duality and minimality. The results of this article also provide a rigorous basis for the engineering practice of computing dual functions by writing the Wexler-Raz biorthogonality condition in the time-domain as a collection of decoupled linear systems involving samples of g and o γ as knowns and unknowns, respectively. We briefly indicate when and how one can generate a Weyl-Heisenberg frame for the space of K-periodic sequences, where K=LCM (N, M), by periodization of a Weyl-Heisenberg frame for ℓ 2 ℤ with shift parameters N, M −1 .  相似文献
