本文考虑了一类具两个时滞项的微分方程的稳定性,其中一个时滞项的系数非负,另一个时滞项的系数非正.当非负系数恒为零时,本文所得结论改进了Yorke等提出的3/2稳定性定理的相应结论,当非负系数项的时滞为零,本文不同于已有文献用Liapunov函数或泛函法将时滞项作为干扰处理,而是反过来利用时滞项让方程稳定.  相似文献

In this article we study the metric property and the function theory of asymptotically locally Euclidean (ALE) Kähler manifolds. In particular, we prove the Ricci flatness under the assumption that the Ricci curvature of such manifolds is either nonnegative or nonpositive. The result provides a generalization of previous gap type theorems established by Greene and Wu, Mok, Siu and Yau, etc. It can also be thought of as a general positive mass type result. The method also proves the Liouville properties of plurisubharmonic functions on such manifolds. We also give a characterization of Ricci flatness of an ALE Kähler manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature in terms of the structure of its cone at infinity.

This paper is concerned with asymptotic stability of a system of reaction-diffusion equations which is expressed in terms of Volterra integrals, under homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. The effect of diffusion and delays on the stability of the system are analyzed, and sufficient conditions are given for the existence of positive solutions of the corresponding steady-state problem. Their global attraction with respect to nonnegative solutions of the time-dependent system is discussed. The main tools are Lyapunov functionals, positive definite kernels, and Laplace transforms.  相似文献

In this work, we propose a proximal algorithm for unconstrained optimization on the cone of symmetric semidefinite positive matrices. It appears to be the first in the proximal class on the set of methods that convert a Symmetric Definite Positive Optimization in Nonlinear Optimization. It replaces the main iteration of the conceptual proximal point algorithm by a sequence of nonlinear programming problems on the cone of diagonal definite positive matrices that has the structure of the positive orthant of the Euclidian vector space. We are motivated by results of the classical proximal algorithm extended to Riemannian manifolds with nonpositive sectional curvature. An important example of such a manifold is the space of symmetric definite positive matrices, where the metrics is given by the Hessian of the standard barrier function −lndet(X). Observing the obvious fact that proximal algorithms do not depend on the geodesics, we apply those ideas to develop a proximal point algorithm for convex functions in this Riemannian metric.  相似文献

Convexity properties of the inverse of positive definite matrices and the Moore-Penrose inverse of nonnegative definite matrices with respect to the partial ordering induced by nonnegative definiteness are studied. For the positive definite case null-space characterizations are derived, and lead naturally to a concept of strong convexity of a matrix function, extending the conventional concept of strict convexity. The positive definite results are shown to allow for a unified analysis of problems in reproducing kernel Hilbert space theory and inequalities involving matrix means. The main results comprise a detailed study of the convexity properties of the Moore-Penrose inverse, providing extensions and generalizations of all the earlier work in this area.  相似文献

We consider an extremal problem for continuous functions that are nonpositive on a closed interval and can be represented by series in Legendre polynomials with nonnegative coefficients. This problem arises from the Delsarte method of finding an upper bound for the kissing number in the three-dimensional Euclidean space. We prove that the problem has a unique solution, which is a polynomial of degree 27. This polynomial is a linear combination of Legendre polynomials of degrees 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 20, and 27 with positive coefficients; it has simple root 1/2 and five double roots in (?1, 1/2). We also consider the dual extremal problem for nonnegative measures on [?1, 1/2] and, in particular, prove that an extremal measure is unique.  相似文献

We compute the second variation of the stream function energy of two-dimensional steady free surface gravity water waves with vorticity in the stream function formulation. We prove that for nonpositive vorticity the second variation of the stream function energy at extreme waves with Stokes corner asymptotics cannot be nonnegative in any small neighbourhood of a given isolated stagnation point. The particular form of our second variation suggests however the possibility that certain singularities in the case of nonzero vorticity might be constructible as minimizers of the stream function energy.  相似文献

Stochastic virus dynamics modeled by a system of stochastic differential equations with Beddington-DeAngelis functional response and driven by white noise is investigated. The global existence of positive solutions and the existence of stationary distribution are proved. Upper and lower bounds of the pathwise and asymptotic moments for the positive solutions are sharply estimated. The absorbing property in time average is shown and the moment Lyapunov exponents are proved to be nonpositive.  相似文献

We derive a set of differential inequalities for positive definite functions based on previous results derived for positive definite kernels by purely algebraic methods. Our main results show that the global behavior of a smooth positive definite function is, to a large extent, determined solely by the sequence of even-order derivatives at the origin: if a single one of these vanishes then the function is constant; if they are all non-zero and satisfy a natural growth condition, the function is real-analytic and consequently extends holomorphically to a maximal horizontal strip of the complex plane.  相似文献

本文提出构造有限单元的新方法——精确有限元法.它可以求解在任意边界条件下任意变系数正定或非正定偏微分方程。文中给出它的收敛性证明和计算偏微分方程的一般格式。用精确元法所得到的单元是一个非协调元,单元之间的相容条件容易处理.与相同自由度普通有限元相比,由精确元法所得到的解的高阶导数具有较高的收敛精度.文末给出数值算例,所得到的结果均收敛于精确解,并有较好的数值精度.  相似文献

In this article, the bounds of the Lorenz‐like chaotic system describing the flow between two concentric rotating spheres have been studied. Based on Lagrange multiplier method, the function extremum theory and the generalized positive definite and radially unbound Lyapunov functions with respect to the parameters of the system, we derive the ultimate bound and the globally exponentially attractive set for this system. The results that obtained in this article provides theory basis for chaotic synchronization, chaotic control, Hausdorff dimension and the Lyapunov dimension of chaotic attractors. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We discuss mathematical aspects of the nonexistence of continuous (nontrivial) solutions of boundary value problems for equations of p-adic closed and open strings in the one-dimensional case. We find that the number of sign changes of the solution ψ(t) is not equal to the order of zeros of the function ψn(t) and that nonnegative (nonpositive) solutions do not exist. In the case of even n, if a solution ψ exists, then the orders of zeros of the function ψn and the order of its tangency to positive maximums (minimums) are not divisible by four and therefore have the form 2(2 r + 1), r ≥ 0.  相似文献

The Cauchy problem is considered for Wazewski linear differential systems with finite delay. The right-hand sides of systems contain nonnegative matrices and diagonal matrices with negative diagonal entries. The initial data are nonnegative functions. The matrices in equations are such that the zero solution is asymptotically stable. Two-sided estimates for solutions to the Cauchy problem are constructed with the use of the method of monotone operators and the properties of nonsingular M-matrices. The estimates from below and above are zero and exponential functions with parameters determined by solutions to some auxiliary inequalities and equations. Some estimates for solutions to several particular problems are constructed.  相似文献
