We present a gauge invariant nonperturbative regularization of gauge theories in the temporal gauge. We use the Schrödinger representation for field theory. An example is given to illustrate regularization using wave functionals.  相似文献

Using relationships between open and closed strings, we present a construction of tree-level scattering amplitudes for gravitons minimally coupled to matter in terms of gauge theory partial amplitudes. In particular, we present examples of amplitudes with gravitons coupled to vectors or to a single fermion pair. We also present two examples with massive graviton exchange, as would arise in the presence of large compact dimensions. The gauge charges are represented by flavors of dynamical scalars or fermions. This also leads to an unconventional decomposition of color and kinematics in gauge theories.  相似文献

We present a model of gauge theory based on the symmetry group G×SU(2) where G is the gravitational gauge group and SU(2) is the internal group of symmetry. We employ the spacetime of four-dimensional Minkowski, endowed with spherical coordinates, and describe the gauge fields by gauge potentials. The corresponding strength field tensors are calculated and the field equations are written. A solution of these equations is obtained for the case that the gauge potentials have a particular form potentials induces a metric of Schwarzschild type on with spherical symmetry. The solution for the gravitational the gravitational gauge group space.  相似文献

In this paper, we present the explicit expressions of the gauge operators for pseudoscslar fields in a gauge theory coupled vector and axial-vector fields with the aid of the method of operator algebras. The gauge operators of the pure gauge field theory under the chiral group SU(N)×SU(N) are also presented. P9oreover, the explicit expression of the Baker-Hausdorff formula is obtained for a special case and the general situation is discussed.  相似文献

The idea of unifying all the gauge and Yukawa forces as well as the gauge, Higgs, and fermionic matter particles naturally leads us to a simple gauge symmetry in higher dimensions with supersymmetry. We present a model in which, for the first time, such a unification is achieved in the framework of quantum field theory.  相似文献

We present a formalism to explicitly construct non-Abelian gauge theories on noncommutative spaces (induced via a star product with a constant Poisson tensor) from a consistency relation. This results in an expansion of the gauge parameter, the noncommutative gauge potential and fields in the fundamental representation, in powers of a parameter of the noncommutativity. This allows the explicit construction of actions for these gauge theories. Received: 13 June 2001 / Published online: 19 July 2001  相似文献

A Yang-Mills formulation of Einstein gravity with spin-affine connection as the dynamical variable of gravitational field is suggested based on the Stephenson-Kilmister-Yang (SKY) equation. A physically interesting property of the present formalism is that the Einstein field equation appears as a first-integral solution to the Yang-Mills type gravitational gauge field equation. The gravitational current density, the law of conservation and the gravitational gauge field strength in vierbein formulation are discussed. The present scheme could provide us with new insight into a possible way to include both Yang-Mills field and gravitational gauge field into one framework of generalized vierbein fields.  相似文献

We consider in detail the gauge invariance constraints in Hamiltonian lattice gauge theories, focusing mainly on pureSU(2) Yang-Mills theory in 2+1 dimensions. We present matrix and partial differential representations of the Hamiltonian in which all gauge constraints have been taken fully into account. The applicability of this formulation is demonstrated on small lattices.  相似文献

It is shown that there exist connections in some of the present gauge theories andthe theory which can provide a mass to the gauge particle without the usual sponta-neous symmetry breaking.  相似文献

We clarify a strong link between general nonlinear Fokker-Planck equations with gauge fields associated with nonequilibrium dynamics and the Fisher information of the system. The notion of Abelian gauge theory for the non-equilibrium Fokker-Planck equation has proposed in the literature, in which the associated curvature represents internal geometry. We present the fluctuation of the gauge field can be decomposed into three parts. We further show that if we define the Fisher information matrix by using a covariant derivative then it gives correlation of the flux components but it is not gauge invariant.  相似文献

Motivated by the problem of expanding the single-trace tree-level amplitude of Einstein-Yang-Mills theory to the BCJ basis of Yang-Mills amplitudes, we present an alternative expansion formula in gauge invariant vector space. Starting from a generic vector space consisting of polynomials of momenta and polarization vectors, we define a new sub-space as a gauge invariant vector space by imposing constraints on the gauge invariant conditions. To characterize this sub-space, we compute its dimension and construct an explicit gauge invariant basis from it. We propose an expansion formula in this gauge invariant basis with expansion coefficients being linear combinations of the Yang-Mills amplitude, manifesting the gauge invariance of both the expansion basis and coefficients. With the help of quivers, we compute the expansion coefficients via differential operators and demonstrate the general expansion algorithm using several examples.  相似文献

We present an orbifold compactification of the minimal seven-dimensional supergravity. The vacuum is a slice of seven-dimensional anti-de Sitter space where six-branes of opposite tension are located at the orbifold fixed points. The cancellation of gauge and gravitational anomalies restricts the gauge group and matter content on the boundaries. In addition, anomaly cancellation fixes the boundary gauge couplings in terms of the gravitational constant, and the mass parameter of the Chern-Simons term.  相似文献

This is the content of a set of lectures given at the “XIII Jorge André Swieca Summer School on Particles and Fields”, Campos do Jordão, Brazil in January 2005. They intend to be a basic introduction to the topic of gauge/gravity duality in confining theories. We start by reviewing some key aspects of the low energy physics of non‐Abelian gauge theories. Then, we present the basics of the AdS/CFT correspondence and its extension both to gauge theories in different spacetime dimensions with sixteen supercharges and to more realistic situations with less supersymmetry. We discuss the different options of interest: placing D–branes at singularities and wrapping D–branes in calibrated cycles of special holonomy manifolds. We finally present an outline of a number of non‐perturbative phenomena in non‐Abelian gauge theories as seen from supergravity.  相似文献

In this paper we construct a lattice formulation of the pure gauge fields on a coset space in the cases of a group G with non-trivial topological property and of a chiral group G, and present a local gauge invariant action of a quark system on a four-dimensional Euclidean space lattice, which has the continuum limit as usual. For non-chiral group with trivial topological property, it is shown that the coset pure gauge fields have no influence on the confinement properties of the confinement properties of the quark system by calculating lattice current-current propagator when the coset pure gauge fields remain manifest.  相似文献

We examine the renormalisation of gauge coupling constants in theories with a G × U(1)N gauge group (which appears to be the gauge symmetry of many possible superstring vacua). In general, the abelian gauge bosons mix among themselves, so a correct renormalisation requires including this mixing in the evolution of the gauge couplings. We present general results and note that the mixing is scale independent to all orders if the renormalization group trajectory passes through a unification point. We discuss the cases of one loop and two loops explicitly. An example, based on a possible superstring-inspired model, is given.  相似文献

We track the gauge symmetry breaking pattern by boundary conditions on fifth and higher-dimensional intervals. It is found that, with Dirichlet–Neumann boundary conditions, the Kaluza–Klein decomposition in five-dimension for arbitrary gauge group can always be factorized into that for separate subsets of at most two gauge symmetries, and so is completely solvable. Accordingly, we present a simple and systematic geometric method to unambiguously identify the gauge breaking/mixing content by general set of Dirichlet–Neumann boundary conditions. We then formulate a limit theorem on gauge symmetry factorizability to recapitulate this interesting feature. Albeit the breaking/mixing, a particularly simple check of orthogonality and normalization of fields' modes in effective 4-dim picture is explicitly obtained. An interesting chained-mixing of gauge symmetries in higher dimensions by Dirichlet–Neumann boundary conditions is also explicitly constructed. This study has direct applications to higgsless/GUT model building.  相似文献

We present a gauge formulation of the Poincaré algebra extended to include fermionic generators belonging to the vector-spinor representation of the Lorentz group. The gauge action of the theory, quadratic in curvature tensors, is derived.  相似文献

An alternative to the Higgs-Kibble mechanism for the formulation of spontaneously broken gauge theories has been recently proposed. It is shown how the new procedures can be generalised to the case when non-Abelian gauge groups are present.  相似文献
