Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ceramics were prepared by a citrate precursor method. The structure and nonlinear dielectric properties of the resulting ceramics were investigated within the sintering temperature range 1200-1300 °C. Adopting fine Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 powder derived from the citrate method was confirmed to be effective in reducing the sintering temperatures required for densification. The ceramic specimens sintered at 1230-1280 °C presented relative densities of around 95%. A significant influence of sintering temperature on the microstructure and nonlinear dielectric properties was detected. The discrepancy in nonlinear dielectric behavior among the specimens sintered at different temperatures was qualitatively interpreted in terms of the dielectric response of polar micro-regions under bias electric field. The specimens sintered at 1230 and 1250 °C attained superior nonlinear dielectric properties, showing relatively low dielectric losses (tan δ) of 0.24% and 0.22% at 10 kHz together with comparatively large figure of merits (FOM) of 121 and 142 at 10 kHz and 20 kV/cm, respectively.  相似文献

Single crystals of nickel malonate dihydrate were grown by the gel technique, employing the single diffusion method. Thermal dehydration of the crystal was investigated by thermogravimetric and differential thermal analyses. The title compound exhibits a steady thermal behaviour at higher temperature range of 350-800 °C. The dielectric properties of the prepared sample were analyzed as a function of frequency in the range of 1 kHz-1 MHz and at temperatures between 40 and 140 °C.  相似文献

A promising non-linear optical (NLO) crystal, aqua maleatocopper(II) (CuC4H2O4·H2O), was grown at room temperature by the controlled ionic diffusion technique. Fourier transform infrared spectrum could identify the various functional groups in the crystal. Structural analysis using single crystal XRD revealed that the compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system with space group P21 and unit cell parameters a = 7.7277(5) Å, b = 5.2967(3) Å, c = 7.7179(4) Å, α = γ = 109.170(5)°, β = 111.995(2)°. The thermal stability and decomposition pattern of the material were explored using thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The optical band gap energy of the material was estimated as 2.2 eV from the diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The Kurtz and Perry powder technique established the crystal to be an efficient non-linear optical (NLO) material.  相似文献

A semi organic material Bis-glycine hydrobromide (C4H11N2O4+Br) has been synthesized by slow solvent evaporation technique. The grown crystal was subjected to single crystal X-ray diffraction studies and its crystal parameters were confirmed. The FTIR analysis confirms the presence of various functional groups present in the title compound. The Kurtz powder second harmonic generation test shows that the crystal is a potential candidate for optical second harmonic generation. The UV–vis spectrum reveals the transparency of the crystal and enumerates the direct band gap energy of the material. The dielectric constant and the dielectric loss were studied as a function of frequency. The thermal studies indicate that the material is thermally stable up to 290 °C. The hardness number was calculated to be 110 kg/mm2 from the Vicker's microhardness test.  相似文献

Polycrystalline samples of Ba5NdTi3−xZrxNb7O30 (x=0, 1, 2, 3) compounds of the tungsten-bronze (TB) structural family were prepared by a high-temperature solid-state reaction technique. X-ray study of the compounds shows the formation of single phase compounds in the orthorhombic crystal system at room temperature. Detailed studies of the dielectric properties (dielectric constant and loss tangent) as a function of temperature (−50 to 350°C) at four different frequencies, 1, 10, 100 and 1000 kHz show relaxor behavior and diffuse phase transition of the compounds. Study of temperature dependence of resistivity shows that these compounds have negative temperature coefficients of resistance (NTCR).  相似文献

The influence of substrate temperature on structural and dielectric properties of cubic pyrochlore Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7 (BZN) thin films prepared by pulsed laser deposition process has been investigated. BZN thin films were deposited on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si(1 0 0) substrate and in situ annealed at 700 °C. The results indicate that the substrate temperature has a significant effect on the structural and dielectric properties of BZN thin films. The films exhibit a cubic pyrochlore structure in the substrate temperature range from 550 °C to 700 °C and at the annealing temperature of 700 °C. With further increase of substrate temperature to 750 °C, the phases of Bi2O3, BiNbO4 and Bi5Nb3O15 can be detected in the XRD pattern due to the Zn loss. The dielectric constant and loss tangent of the films deposited at 650 °C are 192 and 6 × 10−4 at 10 kHz, respectively. The tunability is 10% at a dc bias field of 0.9 MV/cm.  相似文献

Polycrystalline sample of Ca3Nb2O8 was prepared by a high-temperature solid-state reaction technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirms the formation of single-phase compound of hexagonal (rhombohedral) crystal structure at room temperature. Scanning electron micrograph of the material showed uniform grain distribution on the surface of the sample. Detailed studies of dielectric properties of the compound, studied in a wide frequency range (102-106 Hz) at different temperatures (25-500 °C), exhibit a dielectric anomaly suggesting phase transition of ferroelectric-paraelectric and structural type at 300 °C. Electrical properties of the material were analyzed using a complex impedance technique. The Nyquists plot showed the presence of bulk effect in the material in the studied temperature range. Studies of electrical conductivity over a wide temperature range suggest that the compound has negative temperature coefficient of resistance behavior.  相似文献

l-alanine 2-furoic acid (LA2FA), a novel organic third order nonlinear optical material was grown by slow solvent evaporation technique at room temperature. The grown single crystals were characterized by XRD, spectral, thermal, optical, dielectric and third order nonlinear properties. LA2FA crystallizes into triclinic system with the space group P1. The cell parameters are found to be a = 3.97 Å, b = 7.09 Å, c = 10.69 Å, α = 73.61°, β = 83.57°, γ = 84.21° and V = 286 Å3. The modes of vibrations of different molecular groups present in LA2FA were identified by FTIR studies. The optical transparency of the grown crystals was investigated by UV–visible spectrum. The absorption spectrum reveals that the crystal has a high UV cut off of 245 nm and photonic band gap of 2.5 eV. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) study has been carried out to determine the surface morphology of the grown crystal. The thermal behavior of the crystal investigated using thermo gravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) indicates that the material does not decompose before melting. The third order NLO property was studied in detail by z-scan technique.  相似文献

The dielectric properties of MgO-Ta2O5 continuous composition spread (CCS) thin films were investigated. The MgO-Ta2O5 CCS thin films were deposited on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates by off-Axis RF magnetron sputtering system, and then the films were annealed at 350 °C with rapid thermal annealing system in vacuum. The dielectric constant and loss of MgO-Ta2O5 CCS thin films were plotted via 1500 micron-step measuring. The specific point of Ta2O5-MgO CCS thin film (post annealed at 350 °C) showing superior dielectric properties of high dielectric constant (k ∼ 28) and low dielectric loss (tan δ < 0⋅004) at 1 MHz were found in the area of 3-5 mm apart from Ta2O5 side on the substrate. The cation's composition of thin film was Mg:Ta = 0.4:2 at%.  相似文献

The present communication deals with the synthesis, single crystal growth and characterization of a new nonlinear optical material l-proline strontium chloride monohydrate (l-PSCM). Single crystals have been grown using the slow solvent evaporation technique. Single crystal XRD analysis confirmed that the crystal belongs to the orthorhombic structure with lattice parameter a=6.6966(3) Å, b=12.4530(5) Å, c=15.2432(5) Å and space group P212121. Presence of various functional groups in l-PSCM and protonation of the ions were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analysis. The melting point of the single crystal was found to be 126 °C using DSC. Ultraviolet-visible spectral analyses showed that the crystal has low UV cut-off at 226 nm combined with very good transparency of 90% in a wide range. The optical band gap was estimated to be 5.82 eV. Capacitance and dielectric-loss measurements were carried out at different temperatures in the frequency range 1 kHz-2 MHz. The dielectric constant and loss factor were found to be 21 and 0.03 at 1 kHz at room temperature, respectively. Microhardness mechanical studies show that hardness number (Hv) increases with load for l-PSCM single crystals the by Vickers microhardness method. Second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency was found to be 0.078 times the value of KDP.  相似文献

Nano-structure pure barium titanate (BaTiO3) and that was doped with iron oxide (Fe2O3), have been prepared by sol-gel method, using barium acetate (Ba(Ac)2) and titanium butoxide (Ti(C4H9O)4), as precursors. The as-grown prepared samples by sol-gel technique were found to be amorphous, which crystallized to the tetragonal phase after synthesized at 750 °C in air for 1 h as detected from the XRD patterns. The XRD data were confirmed by transmission electron microscope (TEM). The dielectric properties namely; dielectric constant (ε′) and loss tangent (tan δ) in the frequency range between 42 Hz and 1 MHz, at range of temperature 25-250 °C were investigated. The temperature dependence of ε′ and tan δ for the undoped and doped materials, at 1 kHz, was also investigated. As a result, tan δ increased rapidly with decreasing temperature below 125 °C (Curie temperature) while above this temperature, tan δ shows temperature independent. As a result, below and above Curie temperature, ferroelectric phase and paraelectric phase of BaTiO3 can be obtained, respectively.  相似文献

Nanosized MgFe2O4-based ferrite powder having heat generation ability in an AC magnetic field was prepared by bead milling and studied for thermal coagulation therapy applications. The crystal size and the particle size significantly decreased by bead milling. The heat generation ability in an AC magnetic field improved with the milling time, i.e. a decrease in crystal size. However, the heat generation ability decreased for excessively milled samples with crystal sizes of less than 5.5 nm. The highest heat ability (ΔT=34 °C) in the AC magnetic field (370 kHz, 1.77 kA/m) was obtained for fine MgFe2O4 powder having a ca. 6 nm crystal size (the samples were milled for 6-8 h using 0.1 mm ? beads). The heat generation of the samples was closely related to hysteresis loss, a B-H magnetic property. The reason for the high heat generation properties of the samples milled for 6-8 h using 0.1 mm ? beads was ascribed to the increase in hysteresis loss by the formation of a single domain. Moreover, the improvement in heating ability was obtained by calcination of the bead-milled sample at low temperature. In this case, the maximum heat generation (ΔT=41 °C) ability was obtained for a ca. 11 nm crystal size sample was prepared by crystal growth during the sample calcination. On the other hand, the ΔT value for Mg0.5Ca0.5Fe2O4 was synthesized using a reverse precipitation method decreased by bead milling.  相似文献

The effect of post sintering annealing on the dielectric response of (Pb1−xBax)(Yb0.5Ta0.5)O3 ceramics in the diffuse phase transition range (x=0.2) has been investigated. The samples are prepared by conventional solid-state reaction method. The samples are sintered at 1300 °C for 2 h and annealed at different temperatures (800, 900 and 1000 °C) for 8 h and at 800 °C for different time durations (8, 12 and 24 h). A significant change in the dielectric response has been observed in all the samples. The dielectric constant increases remarkably and the dielectric loss tangent decreases. The dielectric peaks of the annealed samples are observed to be more diffused with noticeable frequency dispersion compared to the as sintered sample.  相似文献

The dispersion curves of the dielectric response in single crystal NH4H2PO4 were obtained in the radio frequency range and below the high-temperature transition at Tp−160 °C. The results reveal dielectric relaxation at low frequency, which is about 105 Hz at 70 °C, and it shifts to higher frequencies (∼3×106 Hz) as the temperature increases. The relaxation frequency was determined from the peak obtained in the imaginary part of the permittivity as well as from the derivative of the real part of the permittivity. The activation energy Ea=0.55 eV, obtained from the relaxation frequency is very close to that derived from the dc conductivity. We suggest that this dielectric relaxation could be due to the proton jump and phosphate reorientation that cause distortion and change the local lattice polarizability inducing dipoles like   相似文献

Single crystals of glycine nitrate [(C2H6NO2)+ · (NO3)] were grown using submerged seed solution method. The crystals were characterized by using single crystal X-ray diffraction and density measurements. Spectroscopic, thermal and optical studies were carried out for analyzing the presence of the functional groups, thermal stability, decomposition and transparency of the sample. These studies showed that the crystals are thermally stable upto 145 °C and transparent for the fundamental and second harmonic generation of Nd:YAG (λ = 1064 nm) laser. Second harmonic generation (SHG) conversion efficiency was investigated to explore the NLO characteristics of this material. Microhardness and dielectric studies were also carried out.  相似文献

Polycrystalline samples of bismuth (Bi) doped lead lanthanum zirconate titanate (PLZT) with the general formula Pb0.9(La1−zBiz)0.1(Zr0.65Ti0.35)0.975O3, where [z=0.0, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7] near the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) has been synthesized by a solid solution mixing technique. Some aspect of crystal structure of the compound at room temperature was studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. Detailed studies of dielectric constant (ε) and dielectric loss () obtained both as a function of frequency (100 Hz-100 kHz) at room temperature (RT) and temperature (RT-600 K) at 10 kHz suggest that compounds undergo ferroelectric-paraelectric phase transition of diffuse type. Both ac and dc conductivity have been studied over a wide range of temperature. The activation energy (Ea) of the samples was calculated from the plot of ac conductivity vs. inverse of absolute temperature. The temperature variation of resistivity shows that the compounds have negative temperature coefficient of resistance (NTCR).  相似文献

Nanocrystalline PZT thick films (1 mm square and over 10 μm thick) directly deposited onto stainless-steel substrates (PZT/SUS) by aerosol deposition (AD) technique and then annealed using focused laser beam with a fiber laser to suppress thermal damage to the back sides of the PZT/SUS and substrate near the film edge and to retain the dielectric and/or ferroelectric properties of the PZT/SUS. Compared with CO2 laser annealing, fiber laser annealing suppressed thermal damage to the substrate. Compared with PZT/SUS annealed at 600 °C using an electric furnace, PZT/SUS annealed at 600 °C using a fiber laser showed superior properties, namely, dielectric constant ? > 1200 at a frequency of 100 Hz, remanent polarization Pr > 30 μC/cm2, and coercive field strength Ec < 50 kV/cm at a frequency of 10 Hz. Furthermore, the grain growth for the PZT/SUS formed by AD technique and annealed by fiber laser irradiation was occurred within the laser spot size.  相似文献

Glycine-sodium nitrate, C2H5N2NaO5 (GSN), crystals were grown from aqueous solutions by slow cooling with a temperature lowering rate of 1 °C/day in the range of 40-22 °C. These crystals were analyzed by differential thermal and thermogravimetric analysis (DTA-TGA) and mechanical hardness tester in order to obtain their thermal and mechanical properties. Mechanical characterization was done by studying the variation of microhardness with applied load. The dielectric properties of GSN were calculated by using the CASTEP code within the framework of the generalized gradient approximation (GGA). For better understanding of the optical properties of GSN, the second derivative of ε2(E) was evaluated. DTA-TGA analysis showed that the material has a thermal stability up to 198 °C. The microhardness test was carried out for several faces of GSN crystals, and the tests revealed a load dependence to hardness. Analysis of the second derivative of ε2(E) allowed to obtain better resolution of the electronic transitions involving the energy bands. Besides, a theoretical representation of the orbitals’ energy diagram was obtained. A discussion about the relation of structure-properties and molecular character of GSN is presented here.  相似文献

Structural, dielectric and ferroelectric properties of tungsten (W) substituted SrBi2(Ta1−xWx)2O9 (SBTW) [x=0.0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1 and 0.2] have been studied as a function of sintering temperature (1100-1250 °C). X-ray diffraction patterns confirm the single-phase layered perovskite structure formation up to x=0.05 at all sintering temperatures. The present study reveals an optimum sintering temperature of 1200 °C for the best properties of SBTW samples. Maximum Tc of ∼390 °C is observed for x=0.20 sample sintered at 1200 °C. Peak-dielectric constant (εr) increases from ∼270 to ∼700 on increasing x from 0.0 to 0.20 at 1200 °C sintering temperature. DC conductivity of the SBTW samples is nearly two to three orders lower than that of the pristine sample. Remnant polarization (Pr) increases with the W content up to x≤0.075. A maximum 2Pr (∼25 μC/cm2) is obtained with x=0.075 sample sintered at 1200 °C. The observed behavior is explained in terms of improved microstructural features, contribution from the oxygen and cationic vacancies in SBTW. Such tungsten substituted samples sintered at 1200 °C exhibiting enhanced dielectric and ferroelectric properties should be useful for memory applications.  相似文献

We report the use of a novel powder-in-sol precursor hybrid processing route to synthesize dense, homogeneous, and fine-crystalline Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3-MgO (BST-MgO) ceramics as well as the study of the sintering behavior, microstructures, and dielectric properties of the ceramics. Nanosized BST powders are dispersed into BST sol-gel precursor and uniformly distributed BST slurry is obtained after ball-milling mixing. Mg(NO3)·6H2O solution is added to the BST slurry to give homogeneous BST-MgO slurry upon ball-milling mixing. The BST-MgO slurry is dried and calcined prior to pressing and sintering at low temperatures of 1200-1300 °C to form the ceramics. The ceramics possess very low dielectric loss tangent below 0.005 for frequency above 1 kHz and for temperature in the range −190-80 °C. The dielectric constant and dielectric tunability increase, while the ferroelectric transition broadening decreases, with increasing average grain size.  相似文献
