Resonance in Hopf bifurcation causes complicated bifurcation behaviors. To design with certain desired Hopf bifurcation characteristics in the resonance cases of discrete-time systems, a feedback control method is developed. The controller is designed with the aid of discrete-time washout filters. The control law is constructed according to the criticality and stability conditions of Hopf bifurcations as well as resonance constraints. The control gains associated with linear control terms insure the creation of a Hopf bifurcation in resonance cases and the control gains associated with nonlinear control terms determine the type and stability of bifurcated solutions. To derive the former, we propose the implicit criteria of eigenvalue assignment and transversality condition for creating the bifurcation in a desired parameter location. To derive the latter, the technique of the center manifold reduction, Iooss’s Hopf bifurcation theory and Wan’s Hopf bifurcation theory for resonance cases are employed. In numerical experiments, we show the Hopf circles and fixed points from the created Hopf bifurcations in the strong and weak resonance cases for a four-dimensional control system.  相似文献

In this paper, a four-neuron BAM neural network with distributed delays is considered, where kernels are chosen as weak kernels. Its dynamics is studied in terms of local stability analysis and Hopf bifurcation analysis. By choosing the average delay as a bifurcation parameter and analyzing the associated characteristic equation, Hopf bifurcation occurs when the bifurcation parameter passes through some exceptive values. The stability of bifurcating periodic solutions and a formula for determining the direction of Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, numerical simulation results are given to validate the theorem obtained.  相似文献

This paper investigates the interaction effect of horizontal fast harmonic parametric excitation and time delay on self-excited vibration in van der Pol oscillator. We apply the method of direct partition of motion to derive the main autonomous equation governing the slow dynamic of the oscillator. The method of averaging is then performed on the slow dynamic to obtain a slow flow which is analyzed for equilibria and periodic motion. This analysis provides analytical approximations of regions in parameter space where periodic self-excited vibrations can be eliminated. A numerical study is performed on the original oscillator and compared to analytical approximations. It was shown that in the delayed case, horizontal fast harmonic excitation can eliminate undesirable self-excited vibrations for moderate values of the excitation frequency. In contrast, the case without delay requires large excitation frequency to eliminate such motions. This work has application to regenerative behavior in high-speed milling.  相似文献

In this paper, we have considered a prey–predator model with Beddington-DeAngelis functional response and selective harvesting of predator species. Two delays appear in this model to describe the time that juveniles take to mature. Its dynamics are studied in terms of local analysis and Hopf bifurcation analysis. By analyzing the associated characteristic equation, its linear stability is investigated and Hopf bifurcations are demonstrated. The stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form method and the center manifold theory. Numerical simulation results are given to support the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

In this paper we give a detailed Hopf bifurcation analysis of a ratio-dependent predator–prey system involving two different discrete delays. By analyzing the characteristic equation associated with the model, its linear stability is investigated. Choosing delay terms as bifurcation parameters the existence of Hopf bifurcations is demonstrated. Stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions is determined by using the center manifold theorem and the normal form theory introduced by Hassard et al. Furthermore, some of the bifurcation properties including direction, stability and period are given. Finally, theoretical results are supported by some numerical simulations.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the growth of densities of two kinds of typical HAB algae: diatom and dianoflagellate on some coasts of China’s mainland. Since there exist many random factors that cause the change of the algae densities, we shall develop a new nonlinear dynamical model with stochastic excitations on the algae densities. Applying a stochastic averaging method on the model, we obtain a two-dimensional diffusion process of averaged amplitude and phase. Then we investigate the stability and the Hopf bifurcation of the stochastic system with FPK (Fokker Planck–Kolmogorov) theory and obtain the stationary transition probability density of the process. We obtain the critical values of parameters for the occurrences of Hopf bifurcation in terms of probability. We also investigate numerically the effects of various parameters on the stationary transition probability density of the occurrences of Hopf bifurcation. The numerical results are in good correlation with the analysis. We draw the conclusion that if the Hopf bifurcation occurs with a radius large enough, i.e., if the densities of the HAB algae reach a high value, the HAB will take place with comparatively high probability.  相似文献

In this paper, a delayed neural network model with unidirectional coupling is considered. Zero–Hopf bifurcation is studied by using the center manifold reduction and the normal form method for retarded functional differential equation. We get the versal unfolding of the norm form at the zero–Hopf singularity and show that the model can exhibit pitchfork, Hopf bifurcation, and double Hopf bifurcation is also found to occur in this model. Some numerical simulations are given to support the analytic results.  相似文献

In this paper, the control of Hopf bifurcation in an Internet congestion model with a single link accessed by a single source is presented. By choosing the gain parameter as a bifurcation parameter, it is found that the system without control cannot guarantee a stationary sending rate. Furthermore, Hopf bifurcation occurs when the positive gain parameter of the system exceeds a critical value. For Internet congestion model, a control model based on delayed feedback is proposed and analyzed for delaying the onset of undesirable Hopf bifurcation. Numerical simulations are given to justify the validity of delayed feedback controller in bifurcation control.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigated Hopf bifurcation by analyzing the distributed ranges of eigenvalues of characteristic linearized equation. Using communication delay as the bifurcation parameter, linear stability criteria dependent on communication delay have also been derived, and, furthermore, the direction of Hopf bifurcation as well as stability of periodic solution for the exponential RED algorithm with communication delay is studied. We find that the Hopf bifurcation occurs when the communication delay passes a sequence of critical values. The stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, a numerical simulation is presented to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a model described the survival of red blood cells in animal. Its dynamics are studied in terms of local and global Hopf bifurcations. We show that a sequence of Hopf bifurcations occur at the positive equilibrium as the delay crosses some critical values. Using the reduced system on the center manifold, we also obtain that the periodic orbits bifurcating from the positive equilibrium are stable in the center manifold, and all Hopf bifurcations are supercritical. Further, particular attention is focused on the continuation of local Hopf bifurcation. We show that global Hopf bifurcations exist after the second critical value of time delay.  相似文献

In this paper we employ an equivariant Lyapunov-Schmidt procedure to give a clearer understanding of the one-to-one correspondence of the periodic solutions of a system of neutral functional differential equations with the zeros of the reduced bifurcation map, and then set up equivariant Hopf bifurcation theory. In the process we derive criteria for the existence and direction of branches of bifurcating periodic solutions in terms of the original system, avoiding the process of center manifold reduction.

In this paper, we investigate a reaction–diffusion–advection model with time delay effect. The stability/instability of the spatially nonhomogeneous positive steady state and the associated Hopf bifurcation are investigated when the given parameter of the model is near the principle eigenvalue of an elliptic operator. Our results imply that time delay can make the spatially nonhomogeneous positive steady state unstable for a reaction–diffusion–advection model, and the model can exhibit oscillatory pattern through Hopf bifurcation. The effect of advection on Hopf bifurcation values is also considered, and our results suggest that Hopf bifurcation is more likely to occur when the advection rate increases.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish a Hopf bifurcation theorem for abstract Cauchy problems in which the linear operator is not densely defined and is not a Hille?CYosida operator. The theorem is proved using the center manifold theory for non-densely defined Cauchy problems associated with the integrated semigroup theory. As applications, the main theorem is used to obtain a known Hopf bifurcation result for functional differential equations and a general Hopf bifurcation theorem for age-structured models.  相似文献

In this paper, an age‐structured population model with the form of neutral functional differential equation is studied. We discuss the stability of the positive equilibrium by analyzing the characteristic equation. Local Hopf bifurcation results are also obtained by choosing the mature delay as bifurcation parameter. On the center manifold, the normal form of the Hopf bifurcation is derived, and explicit formulae for determining the criticality of bifurcation are theoretically given. Moreover, the global continuation of Hopf bifurcating periodic solutions is investigated by using the global Hopf bifurcation theory of neutral equations. Finally, some numerical examples are carried out to support the main results.  相似文献

In this paper a mathematical model of AIDS is investigated. The conditions of the existence of equilibria and local stability of equilibria are given. The existences of transcritical bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation are also considered, in particular, the conditions for the existence of Hopf bifurcation can be given in terms of the coefficients of the characteristic equation. The method extends the application of the Hopf bifurcation theorem to higher differential equations which occur in biological models, chemical models, and epidemiological models etc. This project is supported by the National Science Foundation Tian Yuan Terms and LNM Institute of Mechanics Academy of Science. This project is supported by the National and Yunnan Province Natural Science Foundation of China.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the stability and Hopf bifurcation of a diffusive predator-prey system with herd behaviour. The model is described by introducing both time delay and nonlocal prey intraspecific competition. Compared to the model without time delay, or without nonlocal competition, thanks to the together action of time delay and nonlocal competition, we prove that the first critical value of Hopf bifurcation may be homogenous or non-homogeneous. We also show that a double-Hopf bifurcation occurs at the intersection point of the homogenous and non-homogeneous Hopf bifurcation curves. Furthermore, by the computation of normal forms for the system near equilibria, we investigate the stability and direction of Hopf bifurcation. Numerical simulations also show that the spatially homogeneous and non-homogeneous periodic patters.  相似文献

In this paper, the diffusion is introduced to an immunosuppressive infection model with delayed antiviral immune response. The direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation are effected by time delay, in the absence of which the positive equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable by means of analyzing eigenvalue spectrum; however, when the time delay increases beyond a threshold, the positive equilibrium loses its stability via the Hopf bifurcation. The stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation is investigated with the norm form and the center manifold theory. The stability of the Hopf bifurcation leads to the emergence of spatial spiral patterns. Numerical calculations are performed to illustrate our theoretical results. In this article, a predator–prey model of Beddington–DeAngelis type with discrete delay is proposed and analyzed. The essential mathematical features of the proposed model are investigated in terms of local, global analysis and bifurcation theory. By analyzing the associated characteristic equation, it is found that the Hopf bifurcation occurs when the delay parameter τ crosses some critical values. In this article, the classical Bazykin’s model is modified with Beddington–DeAngelis functional response. The parametric space under which the system enters into Hopf bifurcation for both delay and non-delay cases are investigated. Global stability results are obtained by constructing suitable Lyapunov functions for both the cases. We also derive the explicit formulae for determining the stability, direction and other properties of bifurcating periodic solutions by using normal form and central manifold theory. Our analytical findings are supported by numerical simulations. Biological implication of the analytical findings are discussed in the conclusion section.  相似文献
