The paper studies the global existence and asymptotic behavior of weak solutions to the Cauchy problem for quasi-linear wave equations with viscous damping. It proves that when pmax{m,α}, where m+1, α+1 and p+1 are, respectively, the growth orders of the nonlinear strain terms, the nonlinear damping term and the source term, the Cauchy problem admits a global weak solution, which decays to zero according to the rate of polynomial as t→∞, as long as the initial data are taken in a certain potential well and the initial energy satisfies a bounded condition. Especially in the case of space dimension N=1, the solutions are regularized and so generalized and classical solution both prove to be unique. Comparison of the results with previous ones shows that there exist clear boundaries similar to thresholds among the growth orders of the nonlinear terms, the states of the initial energy and the existence, asymptotic behavior and nonexistence of global solutions of the Cauchy problem.  相似文献

We consider the blowup of solutions of the initial boundary value problem for a class of non‐linear evolution equations with non‐linear damping and source terms. By using the energy compensation method, we prove that when p>max{m, α}, where m, α and p are non‐negative real numbers and m+1, α+1, p+1 are, respectively, the growth orders of the non‐linear strain terms, damping term and source term, under the appropriate conditions, any weak solution of the above‐mentioned problem blows up in finite time. Comparison of the results with the previous ones shows that there exist some clear condition boundaries similar to thresholds among the growth orders of the non‐linear terms, the states of the initial energy and the existence and non‐existence of global weak solutions. The paper studies the existence, both locally and globally in time, stability, decay estimates and blowup of solutions to the Cauchy problem for a class of nonlinear dispersive wave equations arising in elasto-plastic flow. Under the assumption that the nonlinear term of the equations is of polynomial growth order, say α, it proves that when α>1, the Cauchy problem admits a unique local solution, which is stable and can be continued to a global solution under rather mild conditions; when α?5 and the initial data is small enough, the Cauchy problem admits a unique global solution and its norm in L1,p(R) decays at the rate for 2<p?10. And if the initial energy is negative, then under a suitable condition on the nonlinear term, the local solutions of the Cauchy problem blow up in finite time.  相似文献

The paper studies the global existence, asymptotic behavior and blowup of solutions to the initial boundary value problem for a class of nonlinear wave equations with dissipative term. It proves that under rather mild conditions on nonlinear terms and initial data the above-mentioned problem admits a global weak solution and the solution decays exponentially to zero as t→+∞, respectively, in the states of large initial data and small initial energy. In particular, in the case of space dimension N=1, the weak solution is regularized to be a unique generalized solution. And if the conditions guaranteeing the global existence of weak solutions are not valid, then under the opposite conditions, the solutions of above-mentioned problem blow up in finite time. And an example is given.  相似文献

The paper studies the existence and non-existence of global weak solutions to the Cauchy problem for the multi-dimensional Boussinesq type equation utt−Δu2uσ(u). It proves that the Cauchy problem admits a global weak solution under the assumptions that σC(R), σ(s) is of polynomial growth order, say p (>1), either , sR, where β>0 is a constant, or the initial data belong to a potential well. And the weak solution is regularized and the strong solution is unique when the space dimension N=1. In contrast, any weak solution of the Cauchy problem blows up in finite time under certain conditions. And two examples are shown.  相似文献

We consider a class of quasi‐linear evolution equations with non‐linear damping and source terms arising from the models of non‐linear viscoelasticity. By a Galerkin approximation scheme combined with the potential well method we prove that when m<p, where m(?0) and p are, respectively, the growth orders of the non‐linear strain terms and the source term, under appropriate conditions, the initial boundary value problem of the above‐mentioned equations admits global weak solutions and the solutions decay to zero as t→∞. In this paper, we investigate the existence of global weak solutions to the Cauchy problem of a modified two‐component Camassa‐Holm equation with the initial data satisfying limx → ±∞u0(x) = u±. By perturbing the Cauchy problem around a rarefaction wave, we obtain a global weak solution for the system under the assumption u?u+. In this paper, we show that the Cauchy problem of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with damping α|u|β−1u(α>0) has global strong solution for any β>3 and the strong solution is unique when 3<β?5. This improves earlier results.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for systems of semilinear hyperbolic equations. Using the LpLq type estimation for the corresponding linear parts, the existence and uniqueness of weak global solutions are investigated. We also established the behavior of solutions and their derivatives as t→+. Using the method of test functions developed in the works (Mitidieri and Pokhozhaev, 2001 [11], Veron and Pohozaev, 2001 [12] and Caristi, 2000 [23]) we obtain the analogue of the Fujita-Hayakawa type criterion for the absence of global solutions to some system of semilinear hyperbolic inequalities with damping. It follows that the conditions of existence theorem imposed on the growth of nonlinear parts are exact in some sense.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the Cauchy problem of semilinear parabolic equations with nonlinear gradient terms a(x)|u|q−1u|u|p. We prove the existence of global solutions and self-similar solutions for small initial data. Moreover, for a class of initial data we show that the global solutions behave asymptotically like self-similar solutions as t.  相似文献

This article deals with local existence of strong solutions for semilinear wave equations with power-like interior damping and source terms. A long-standing restriction on the range of exponents for the two nonlinearities governs the literature on wellposedness of weak solutions of finite energy. We show that this restriction may be eliminated for the existence of higher regularity solutions by employing natural methods that use the physics of the problem. This approach applies to the Cauchy problem posed on the entire ? n as well as for initial boundary problems with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the initial-boundary value problem for a system of nonlinear wave equations, involving nonlinear damping terms, in a bounded domain Ω. The nonexistence of global solutions is discussed under some conditions on the given parameters. Estimates on the lifespan of solutions are also given. Our results extend and generalize the recent results in [K. Agre, M.A. Rammaha, System of nonlinear wave equations with damping and source terms, Differential Integral Equations 19 (2006) 1235-1270], especially, the blow-up of weak solutions in the case of non-negative energy.  相似文献

Let p∈(1,N), ΩRN a bounded W1,p-extension domain and let μ be an upper d-Ahlfors measure on ∂Ω with d∈(Np,N). We show in the first part that for every p∈[2N/(N+2),N)∩(1,N), a realization of the p-Laplace operator with (nonlinear) generalized nonlocal Robin boundary conditions generates a (nonlinear) strongly continuous submarkovian semigroup on L2(Ω), and hence, the associated first order Cauchy problem is well posed on Lq(Ω) for every q∈[1,∞). In the second part we investigate existence, uniqueness and regularity of weak solutions to the associated quasi-linear elliptic equation. More precisely, global a priori estimates of weak solutions are obtained.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the p-system of hyperbolic conservation laws with nonlinear damping. When the constant states are small, the solutions of the Cauchy problem for the damped p-system globally exist and converge to their corresponding nonlinear diffusion waves, which are the solutions of the corresponding nonlinear parabolic equation given by the Darcy's law. The optimal convergence rates are also obtained. In order to overcome the difficulty caused by the nonlinear damping, a couple of correction functions have been technically constructed. The approach adopted is the elementary energy method together with the technique of approximating Green function. On the other hand, when the constant states are large, the solutions of the Cauchy problem for the p-system will blow up at a finite time.  相似文献
