In this paper, we present two composite Milstein methods for the strong solution of Stratonovich stochastic differential equations driven by d-dimensional Wiener processes. The composite Milstein methods are a combination of semi-implicit and implicit Milstein methods. The criterion for choosing either the implicit or the semi-implicit method at each step of the numerical solution is given. The stability and convergence properties of the proposed methods are analyzed for the linear test equation. It is shown that the proposed methods converge to the exact solution in Stratonovich sense. In addition, the stability properties of our methods are found to be superior to those of the Milstein and the composite Euler methods. The convergence properties for the nonlinear case are shown numerically to be the same as the linear case. Hence, the proposed methods are a good candidate for the solution of stiff SDEs.  相似文献

In this paper a family of fully implicit Milstein methods are introduced for solving stiff stochastic differential equations (SDEs). It is proved that the methods are convergent with strong order 1.0 for a class of SDEs. For a linear scalar test equation with multiplicative noise terms, mean-square and almost sure asymptotic stability of the methods are also investigated. We combine analytical and numerical techniques to get insights into the stability properties. The fully implicit methods are shown to be superior to those of the corresponding semi-implicit methods in term of stability property. Finally, numerical results are reported to illustrate the convergence and stability results.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss split-step forward methods for solving Itô stochastic differential equations (SDEs). Eight fully explicit methods, the drifting split-step Euler (DRSSE) method, the diffused split-step Euler (DISSE) method and the three-stage Milstein (TSM 1a-TSM 1f) methods, are constructed based on Euler-Maruyama method and Milstein method, respectively, in this paper. Their order of strong convergence is proved. The analysis of stability shows that the mean-square stability properties of the methods derived in this paper are improved on the original methods. The numerical results show the effectiveness of these methods in the pathwise approximation of Itô SDEs.  相似文献

The stationary Navier-Stokes equations are solved in 2D with semi-implicit Runge-Kutta schemes, where explicit time-integration in the streamwise direction is combined with implicit integration in the body-normal direction. For model problems stability restrictions and convergence properties are studied. Numerical experiments for the flow over a flat plate show that the number of iterations for the semi-implicit schemes is almost independent of the Reynolds number.

It is well known that the numerical solution of stiff stochastic ordinary differential equations leads to a step size reduction when explicit methods are used. This has led to a plethora of implicit or semi-implicit methods with a wide variety of stability properties. However, for stiff stochastic problems in which the eigenvalues of a drift term lie near the negative real axis, such as those arising from stochastic partial differential equations, explicit methods with extended stability regions can be very effective. In the present paper our aim is to derive explicit Runge–Kutta schemes for non-commutative Stratonovich stochastic differential equations, which are of weak order two and which have large stability regions. This will be achieved by the use of a technique in Chebyshev methods for ordinary differential equations.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss two-stage diagonally implicit stochastic Runge-Kutta methods with strong order 1.0 for strong solutions of Stratonovich stochastic differential equations. Five stochastic Runge-Kutta methods are presented in this paper. They are an explicit method with a large MS-stability region, a semi-implicit method with minimum principal error coefficients, a semi-implicit method with a large MS-stability region, an implicit method with minimum principal error coefficients and another implicit method. We also consider composite stochastic Runge-Kutta methods which are the combination of semi-implicit Runge-Kutta methods and implicit Runge-Kutta methods. Two composite methods are presented in this paper. Numerical results are reported to compare the convergence properties and stability properties of these stochastic Runge-Kutta methods.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the αth moment asymptotical stability of the analytic solution and the numerical methods for the stochastic pantograph equation by using the Razumikhin technique. Especially the linear stochastic pantograph equations and the semi-implicit Euler method applying them are considered. The convergence result of the semi-implicit Euler method is obtained. The stability conditions of the analytic solution of those equations and the numerical method are given. Finally, some experiments are given.  相似文献

Runge–Kutta based convolution quadrature methods for abstract, well-posed, linear, and homogeneous Volterra equations, non necessarily of sectorial type, are developed. A general representation of the numerical solution in terms of the continuous one is given. The error and stability analysis is based on this representation, which, for the particular case of the backward Euler method, also shows that the numerical solution inherits some interesting qualitative properties, such as positivity, of the exact solution. Numerical illustrations are provided.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss three-stage stochastic Runge–Kutta (SRK) methods with strong order 1.0 for a strong solution of Stratonovich stochastic differential equations (SDEs). Higher deterministic order is considered. Two methods, a three-stage explicit (E3) method and a three-stage semi-implicit (SI3) method, are constructed in this paper. The stability properties and numerical results show the effectiveness of these methods in the pathwise approximation of several standard test problems.  相似文献

On projected Runge-Kutta methods for differential-algebraic equations   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
Ascher and Petzold recently introducedprojected Runge-Kutta methods for the numerical solution of semi-explicit differential-algebraic systems of index 2. Here it is shown that such a method can be regarded as the limiting case of a standard application of a Runge-Kutta method with a very small implicit Euler step added to it. This interpretation allows a direct derivation of the order conditions and of superconvergence results for the projected methods from known results for standard Runge-Kutta methods for index-2 differential-algebraic systems, and an extension to linearly implicit differential-algebraic systems.  相似文献

Stability of Runge-Kutta methods for linear delay differential equations   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Summary. This paper investigates the stability of Runge-Kutta methods when they are applied to the complex linear scalar delay differential equation . This kind of stability is called stability. We give a characterization of stable Runge-Kutta methods and then we prove that implicit Euler method is stable. The paper deals with convergence and stability of the semi-implicit Euler method for a linear stochastic differential delay equation. It is proved that the semi-implicit Euler method is convergent with strong order . The conditions under which the method is MS-stable and GMS-stable are determined and the numerical experiments are given.  相似文献

Summary A trajectory problem is an initial value problem where the interest lies in obtaining the curve traced by the solution, rather than in finding the actual correspondence between the values of the parameter and the points on that curve. This paper introduces a family of multi-stage, multi-step numerical methods to integrate trajectory problems whose solution is on a spherical surface. It has been shown that this kind of algorithms has good numerical properties: consistency, stability, convergence and others that are not standard. The latest ones make them a better choice for certain problems.  相似文献

This paper presents a class of parallel numerical integration methods for stiff systems of ordinary differential equations which can be partitioned into loosely coupled sub-systems. The formulas are called decoupled backward differentiation formulas, and they are derived from the classical formulas by restricting the implicit part to the diagnonal sub-system. With one or several sub-systems allocated to each processor, information only has to be exchanged after completion of a step but not during the solution of the nonlinear algebraic equations. The main emphasis is on the formula of order 1, the decoupled implicit Euler formula. It is proved that this formula even for a wide range of multirate formulations has an asymptotic global error expansion permitting extrapolation. Besides, sufficient conditions for absolute stability are presented.  相似文献

Summary In this paper we study stability and convergence properties of linearly implicit Runge-Kutta methods applied to stiff semi-linear systems of differential equations. The stability analysis includes stability with respect to internal perturbations. All results presented in this paper are independent of the stiffness of the system.  相似文献

Summary Asymptotic expansions of the global error of numerical methods are well-understood, if the differential equation is non-stiff. This paper is concerned with such expansions for the implicit Euler method, the linearly implicit Euler method and the linearly implicit mid-point rule, when they are applied tostiff differential equations. In this case perturbation terms are present, whose dominant one is given explicitly. This permits us to better understand the behaviour ofextrapolation methods at stiff differential equations. Numerical examples, supporting the theoretical results, are included.  相似文献

Summary The paper analyzes one-step methods for differential-algebraic equations (DAE) in terms of convergence order. In view of extrapolation methods, certain perturbed asymptotic expansions are shown to hold. For the special DAE extrapolation solver based on the semi-implicit Euler discretization, the perturbed order pattern of the extrapolation tableau is derived in detail. The theoretical results lead to modifications of the known code. The efficiency of the modifications is illustrated by numerical comparisons over critical examples mainly from chemical combustion.  相似文献

In this paper we construct implicit stochastic Runge–Kutta (SRK) methods for solving stochastic differential equations of Stratonovich type. Instead of using the increment of a Wiener process, modified random variables are used. We give convergence conditions of the SRK methods with these modified random variables. In particular, the truncated random variable is used. We present a two-stage stiffly accurate diagonal implicit SRK (SADISRK2) method with strong order 1.0 which has better numerical behaviour than extant methods. We also construct a five-stage diagonal implicit SRK method and a six-stage stiffly accurate diagonal implicit SRK method with strong order 1.5. The mean-square and asymptotic stability properties of the trapezoidal method and the SADISRK2 method are analysed and compared with an explicit method and a semi-implicit method. Numerical results are reported for confirming convergence properties and for comparing the numerical behaviour of these methods. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Numerical stability of both explicit and implicit Runge-Kutta methods for solving ordinary differential equations with an additive noise term is studied. The concept of numerical stability of deterministic schemes is extended to the stochastic case, and a stochastic analogue of Dahlquist'sA-stability is proposed. It is shown that the discretization of the drift term alone controls theA-stability of the whole scheme. The quantitative effect of implicitness uponA-stability is also investigated, and stability regions are given for a family of implicit Runge-Kutta methods with optimal order of convergence. This author was partially supported by the Italian Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche.  相似文献
