Single-walled carbon nanotubes are readily observable in a scanning electron microscope, which traditional models fail to explain. We present an ab initio model to explain how the electron beam can interact with these structures despite the very small, nanoscale, interaction volume. In particular, we show how the electron beam can generate very strong secondary electron emission from the tip of a nanotube under external electric field. The approach may also be used in modeling the interaction of charged particles with nanostructures in other applications such as electron detection.  相似文献

It is shown that the electron cyclotron harmonic waves and the ion acoustic broad band obsefved in the transition region and the upstream region of the two AMPTE lithium releases can be explained ,by the interaction of the lithium ion beams and the solar wind plasmas.The cycloidal motion of the freshly produced lithium ion in the solaz wind magnetic and electric fields is essential for these wave excitations.Two simplified models in ion velocity distribution are used in the dispersion relation analysis,one is an orientating ion beam, the other is an ion beam ring (the hollow beam).It is shown that the electron cyclotron. harmonics can be effectively excited by both of these beams if they are very cold. Satisfactory consistence of the theory with the observed results is obtained for the harmonic excitations.The strong Iow frequency (much less than the electron cyclotron frequency) noices might be multioriginal.It is also proposed that the interaction of the lithium ion beam and the solar wind protons provides a suitable mechanism for exciting these broad bands.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the characteristics of wave propagation in double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs). The DWCNTs is simulated with a Timoshenko beam model based on the nonlocal continuum elasticity theory, referred to as an analytically nonlocal Timoshenko-beam (ANT) model. The governing equations of the DWCNTs beam consist of a set of four equations that are derived from the variational principle of the beam with high-order boundary conditions at the both ends, in which the effects of the nano-scale nonlocality and the van der Waals interaction between inner and outer tubes are inclusive. The characteristics of the wave propagation in the DWCNTs beam were analyzed with the new ANT model proposed and the comparisons with the partially nonlocal Timoshenko-beam (PNT) models in publication were made in details. The results show that the nonlocal effects of the ANT model proposed in the present study on the wave propagations are more significant because it is in stronger stiffness enhancement to the DWCNTs beam.  相似文献

The force of interaction between a relativistic electron beam deflected by resistive hose instability and the eddy current induced in a tubular plasma channel of finite conductivity is computed. Dependences of the force on channel ohmic conductivity and current rise time in a beam pulse are studied. For a beam propagating through a perfectly conducting waveguide under the ion-focused regime, the interaction of the beam with the ion-channel electrostatic image on the waveguide wall is studied for the case when the beam and the channel are deflected from the waveguide axis as a result of ion hose instability. The dependence of the force on both deflection amplitudes is ascertained for the nonlinear phase of instability. It is demonstrated that the force under study may become comparable to the beam-channel interaction force if the deflections are large.  相似文献

We study theoretically the influence of the spread of initial energies and velocities in the electron beam on the starting conditions and efficiency of a gyrotron. We compare various analytical and numerical models and the results of experimental studies of gyrotrons in which the interaction takes place at the first and second harmonics of the cyclotron frequency. The aftercavity interaction of the electron beam with the high-frequency field in the output waveguide transition is taken into account. The influence of the energy spread on the recuperation efficiency is estimated. 斜注管是返波振荡器的一种,通过电子注的倾斜,电子距离慢波结构更近,高频场更强,耦合阻抗和互作用效率更高,显著增加输出功率。对带状注斜注管的互作用系统进行了设计,并首次将双排齿慢波结构应用于斜注管。利用电磁模拟软件和3D粒子模拟软件对设计的斜注管的色散曲线和场分布进行了分析,并对其注-波互作用进行了模拟,可以得到大于100 mW的输出功率以及50 GHz的调谐带宽。输出功率在370.5 GHz频点处处达到峰值2.3 W,电子注电压7.0 kV,注电流120 mA,聚焦磁场1.0 T。  相似文献

The problem on the interaction of an Ohmic plasma channel displaced in the transverse direction with a paraxial azimuthally symmetric relativistic electron beam propagating in a dense gas-plasma medium is considered. The formula for determining the force of the beam-plasma interaction is derived using the “hard” model of the beam and the channel in the case of an arbitrary displacement of the symmetry axis of the plasma channel relative to the corresponding axis of the beam. The forces are calculated in the Bennett and Gauss approximations for the radial profiles of the beam and the channel.  相似文献

We solve the problem of the motion of a flow of relativistic electrons guided by a uniform magnetostatic field in the channel of interaction with a symmetric TM wave. The problem is related to the analysis of operation of powerful oscillators of Cherenkov microwave radiation and can also have other applications. This problem is of special interest for a possible reduction of the magnetostatic field within the permissible limits of the beam expansion. For synchronous interaction of electrons with a TM wave, we obtain a simple estimate of the possible expansion of the beam through the energy argument and consider the characteristic features of motion in some cases on the basis of more accurate calculations including those for the case of violation of the radial finiteness of motion (microwave defocusing of the beam). Attention is drawn to the inconsistency of the known models of expansion of the beam with a fixed maximum velocity of the radial drift of electrons.  相似文献

Propagation of an acoustic beam in a medium with a combined second-and third-order nonlinearity is studied. The derivation of the dynamics equations and the determination of modes is performed using the orthogonal-projection operator technique. The problem on the beam evolution considered with allowance for weak nonlinearity, diffraction, and dissipation leads to a set of equations describing the interaction of directed waves and a quasi-stationary (thermal) mode. In the conditions of a directed beam, the inclusion of the interaction leads to a modified Khokhlov-Zabolotskaya-Kuznetsov equation with quadratic and cubic nonlinearities. The solutions to the problem are obtained in the region near the beam axis, in the form of series expansions in the transverse coordinate up to the focal point. The results of calculations are represented in graphical form for different nonlinearity combinations.  相似文献

 利用含电流的传输线方程,并在考虑多模注-波互作用及多模耦合的情况下,利用自主开发的多模高次谐波渐变结构复合腔回旋管的注-波互作用数值模拟软件,对3 mm波段二次谐波渐变复合腔回旋管进行了自洽非线性模拟,分析了H02-H03模式对下磁场系数、电流、电子注速度比对注-波互作用效率的影响。计算结果表明,在合适的腔体结构尺寸下,以及合适的磁场系数、电流、速度比下,注-波互作用效率可达27%。  相似文献

The force interaction of a relativistic electron beam with a plasma in a channel bounded by planegeometry highly conducting walls is studied. The steady-state interaction regime, ω=ku, is analyzed using the model of a cold collisional electron plasma. The present study examines the absorption of a laser beam at different wavelengths by a partially-ionized vapour during the interaction mechanism. The applicability of the theoretical models developed is discussed in detail. The interaction of the high- and low-power intensities of a laser beam with plasma is distinguished. It is shown that different metal vapours at similar temperatures and densities have absorption depths which may differ by an order of magnitude. Even more substantial is the difference between the absorption depths of light from different lasers in common use. It is also shown that the free electron temperature becomes significantly different from the heavy particle temperature for power intensities above the critical level which is typically > 1014W/m2. The free electron velocity distribution has an isotropic part which becomes non-Maxwellian for power intensities greater than the critical power intensity.  相似文献

The effect of three-dimensional perturbed velocity and three-dimensional perturbed current density on the beam-wave interaction of dielectric Cherenkov maser is analysed by use of the self-consistent linear field theory. Three distinct cases are considered. First, the propagation of the electron beam in an annular dielectric liner enclosed by a loss-free conducting wall is investigated. The dispersion equation and the simultaneous condition of the beam-wave interaction are derived. It's clearly shown that the instability of the interaction results from the coupling of the TM mode in the dielectric lined slow-wave waveguide to the beam mode via the electron beam. And the coupling is proportional to the density of the beam. The growth rate of the wave produced by the electron beam are obtained. Then, the case of a relativistic electron beam guided by a longitudinal magnetic field in the same slow-wave structure is examined. The motion of electrons could be approximated to be one-dimensional when the simultaneous condition of the beam-wave interaction of dielectric Cherenkov maser is satisfied. Finally, the effect of the background plasma on the instability of the beam-wave interaction is studied.This work is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China.  相似文献

A three-dimensional model of a dielectric-loaded rectangular Cerenkov maser with a sheet electron beam for the beam-wave interaction is proposed.Based on this model,the hybrid-mode dispersion equation is derived with the Borgnis potential function by using the field-matching method.Its approximate solution is obtained under the assumption of a dilute electron beam.By using the Ansoft high frequency structural simulator(HFSS) code,the electromagnetic field distribution in the interaction structure is given.Through numerical calculations,the effects of beam thickness,beam and dielectric-layer gap distance,beam voltage,and current density on the resonant growth rate are analysed in detail.  相似文献

提出了一种新型的菱形微带曲折线慢波结构。该结构可适用于低电压、宽带宽、中等功率水平的高效率毫米波行波管。和传统的慢波结构相比,微带曲折线是一种平面结构,因此其加工工艺可采用2维微细加工技术。该结构可以用带状电子束进行注-波互作用,并且不需要额外的电子束通道。给出了菱形微带曲折线慢波结构在140 GHz的色散曲线和注-波互作用模拟分析。研究结果显示:在输入功率为40 mW,带状电子束的电流和工作电压分别为90 mA和7 kV的条件下,该微带曲折线行波管可以获得数十W功率输出,互作用效率可达14.3%,瞬时3 dB带宽为18 GHz(132~150 GHz)。  相似文献

In this paper, the beam lifetime measurement and its theoretical analysis are presented using measured vacuum pressure and applied radio frequency (RF) cavity voltage in Indus-2 electron storage ring at 2 GeV beam energy. Experimental studies of the effect of RF cavity voltage and bunched beam filling pattern on beam lifetime are also presented. An equation of stable beam current decay is evolved and this equation closely follows the observed beam current decay pattern. It shows that the beam is stable and the beam current decay is due to the beam–residual gas interaction (vacuum lifetime) and electron–electron interaction within a bunch (Touschek lifetime). The estimated vacuum, Touschek and total beam lifetimes from analytical formulations are also compared with the measured beam lifetime.  相似文献
