Let H be a subgroup of a group G.Then H is said to be S-quasinormal in G if HP = P H for every Sylow subgroup P of G;H is said to be S-quasinormally embedded in G if a Sylow p-subgroup of H is also a Sylow p-subgroup of some S-quasinormal subgroup of G for each prime p dividing the order of H.In this paper,we say that H is weakly S-embedded in G if G has a normal subgroup T such that HT is an S-quasinormal subgroup of G and H ∩ T≤H SE,where H SE denotes the subgroup of H generated by all those subgroups of ...     

On finite groups with some subgroups of prime indices

We establish the solvability of each finite group whose every proper nonmaximal subgroup lies in some subgroup of prime index.

On p-nilpotency of finite groups with some subgroups π-quasinormally embedded

Summary A subgroup H of a group G is said to be π-quasinormal in G if it permutes with every Sylow subgroup of G, and H is said to be π-quasinormally embedded in G if for each prime dividing the order of H, a Sylow p-subgroup of H is also a Sylow p-subgroup of some π-quasinormal subgroups of G. We characterize p-nilpotentcy of finite groups with the assumption that some maximal subgroups, 2-maximal subgroups, minimal subgroups and 2-minimal subgroups are π-quasinormally embedded, respectively.

On p-nilpotency and minimal subgroups of finite groups

We call a subgroup H of a finite group G c-supplemented in G if there exists a subgroup K of G such that G = HK and H ∩ K ≤ core(H). In this paper it is proved that a finite group G is p-nilpotent if G is S4-free and every minimal subgroup of P n GN is c-supplemented in NG(P), and when p = 2 P is quaternion-free, where p is the smallest prime number dividing the order of G, P a Sylow p-subgroup of G. As some applications of this result, some known results are generalized.     

Finite groups with some ?-quasinormal minimal subgroups

We use ?-quasinormal condition on minimal subgroups to Characterize the structure of a finite group through the theory of formation. We give some equivalent conditions of a nilpotent group or a saturated formation containing the nilpotent groups. Our results generalize earlier theorems of Yokoyama, Ballester-Bolinches and Pedraza Aguilera.     

The product of generalized subnormal subgroups in finite groups

We study the structure of some classes of finite groups with a given system of commuting generalized subnormal subgroups. In particular, our results yield a characterization of superradical and Shemetkov formations.     

On generalized m-S-permutable subgroups of a finite group

In this paper, we give some new conditions under which a normal subgroup E of a finite group G is hypercyclically embedded in G, that is, every chief factor of G below E is cyclic.

A subgroup H is called S-seminormal in a finite group G if H permutes with all Sylow p-subgroups of G with (p, |H| =1. The main object of this paper is to generalize some known results about finite supersolvable groups to a saturated formation containing the class of finite supersolvable groups.

Weakly s-semipermutable subgroups of finite groups

In this paper, we introduce the concept of weakly s-semipermutable subgroups. Let G be a finite group. Using the condition that the minimal subgroups or subgroups of order p ² of a given Sylow p-subgroup of G are weakly s-semipermutable in G, we give a criterion for p-nilpotency of G and get some results about formation.

On weakly s-semipermutable or ss-quasinormal subgroups of finite groups

Suppose that G is a finite group and H is a subgroup of G. H is said to be weakly s-semipermutable in G if there are a subnormal subgroup T of G and an s-semipermutable subgroup \(H_{ssG}\) of G contained in H such that \(G=HT\) and \(H\cap T\le H_{ssG}\); H is said to be an ss-quasinormal subgroup of G if there is a subgroup B of G such that \(G=HB\) and H permutes with every Sylow subgroup of B. We fix in every non-cyclic Sylow subgroup P of G some subgroup D satisfying \(1<|D|<|P|\) and study the structure of G under the assumption that every subgroup H of P with \(|H|=|D|\) is either weakly s-semipermutable or ss-quasinormal in G. Some recent results are generalized and unified.

     

Carter subgroups of finite almost simple groups

In the paper we work to complete the classification of Carter subgroups in finite almost simple groups. In particular, it is proved that Carter subgroups of every finite almost simple group are conjugate. Based on our previous results, together with those obtained by F. Dalla Volta, A. Lucchini, and M. C. Tamburini, as a consequence we derive that Carter subgroups of every finite group are conjugate.
