Neodymium (III)-selective electrodes have been prepared by using tin (IV) antimonotungstate (SnSbW) and zirconium (IV) antimonotungstate (ZrSbW) as electro-active materials and epoxy resin as a binding material. In the case of SnSbW, best performance is exhibited by a membrane having the composition: tin (IV) antimonotungstate (50%) and epoxy resin (50%). It shows excellent response in the concentration range of 10–4?M to 10–1?M Nd (III) ion with a super-Nernstian slope of 40.0?mV/decade. It has a fast response time of 20 seconds and can be used for at least six months without any considerable divergence in potential. In the case of ZrSbW, best performance is exhibited by a membrane having the composition: zirconium (IV) antimonotungstate (40%) and epoxy resin (60%). It shows excellent response in the concentration range of 10–5?M to 10–1?M Nd (III) ion with a near-Nernstian slope of 25.0?mV/decade. It has a fast response time of 10 seconds and can be used for at least six months without any considerable divergence in potential. Effect of internal solution has been studied and the electrode was successfully used in partially non-aqueous medium, too. Selectivity coefficients have been determined by FIM method, with respect to alkali, alkaline earth, some transition and rare earth metal ions. ZrSbW electrode can be used in the pH range of 2.9–9.9 and SnSbW shows pH range 3.0–9.0. Both the electrodes have been used as indicator electrodes in the potentiometric titration of Nd (III) ions against EDTA.  相似文献

Abstract

A Dy(III) ion‐selective membrane sensor has been fabricated from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) matrix membrane containing a new asymmetrical Schiff's base [(E)‐N‐(2‐hydroxybenzylidene)benzohydraide] or BBH as a neutral carrier, sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB) as an anionic excluder and nitrobenzene (NB) as a plasticizing solvent mediator. The membrane sensor displays linear potential response in the concentration range of 1.0×10?2–1.0×10?6 M of Dy(III). The electrode exhibits a nice Nernstian slope of 20.1±0.8 mV/decade in the pH range of 3.0–8.0. The sensor has a relatively short response time in whole concentration ranges (<20 s). The detection limit of the proposed sensor is 8.0×10?7 M (~128 ng/mL), and it can be used over a period of six weeks. The selectivity of the proposed sensor with respect to other cations, (alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions) and especially lanthanid ions, is excellent. The practical utility of the sensor has been demonstrated by using it as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Dy(III) with EDTA.  相似文献

A pencil graphite electrode coated by copper (II)–carmoisine dye complex in polyaniline (emeraldine base form) matrix (termed as PGE/PA/Cu-Car) was prepared and used as copper ion-selective electrode. The introduced electrode was found to have high selectivity toward copper ion (II) and exhibited wide working concentration range, low response time, and good shelf life. The sensor electrode showed a linear Nernstian response over the range of 5.0 × 10−6 to 1.0 × 10−1 M with a slope of 29.7 ± 1 mV per decade change in concentration. A detection limit of 2.0 × 10−6 M was obtained. The optimum pH working range of the electrode was found to be 4.0–7.0.  相似文献

A disposable screen-printed electrode was designed and evaluated for direct detection of chromium(VI) in batch and flow analysis. The carbon screen-printed electrode was modified with a graphite–epoxy composite. The optimal graphite–epoxy matrix contains 37.5% graphite powder, 12.5% diphenylcarbohydrazide, a selective compound for chromium(VI), and 50% epoxy resin. The principal analytical parameters of the potentiometric response in batch and flow analysis were optimized and calculated. The screen-printed sensor exhibits a response time of 20 ± 1 s. In flow analysis, the analytical frequency of sampling is 70 injections per hour using 0.1 M NaNO3 solution at pH 3 as the carrier, a flow rate of 2.5 mL·min−1, and an injection sample volume of 0.50 mL. The sensor shows potentiometric responses that are very selective for chromium(VI) ions and optimal detection limits in both static mode (2.1 × 10−7 M) and online analysis (9.4 × 10−7 M). The disposable potentiometric sensor was employed to determine toxicity levels of chromium(VI) in mineral, tap, and river waters by flow-injection potentiometry and batch potentiometry. Chromium(VI) determination was also carried out with successful results in leachates from municipal solid waste landfills.  相似文献

A Fe3+ ion-selective membrane sensor was fabricated from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) matrix membrane containing bis-bidentate Schiff base (BBS) as a neutral carrier, sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB) as anionic excluder, and o-nitrophenyloctyl ether (NPOE) as a plasticizing solvent mediator. The effects of the membrane composition, pH, and additive anionic influence on the response properties were investigated. The best performance was obtained with a membrane containing 32% PVC, 62.5% NPOE, 3% BBS, and 2.5% NaTPB. The electrode shows a Nernstian behavior (slope of 19.3 ± 0.6) over a very wide iron ion concentration range (1.0 × 10−7–1.0 × 10−2 M) and has a low detection limit (7.4 × 10−8 M). The potentiometric response of the sensor is independent of pH of the solution in the pH range 1.9–5.1. The proposed sensor has a very low response time (<15 s) and a good selectivity relative to a wide variety of other metal ions including common alkali, alkaline earth, heavy, and transition metal ions. The electrode can be used for at least 60 days without any considerable divergence in potentials. The proposed sensor was successfully applied as an indicator electrode for the potentiometric titration of 1.0 × 10−2 M Fe3+ ions with a 1.0 × 10−4 M EDTA and the direct determination of Fe3+ in mineral water and wastewater samples.  相似文献

Abstract

A PVC membrane electrode for dysprosium(III) [Dy(III)] ions was constructed, having its basis on benzoxazoleguanidine (BG) as a suitable ionophore. The sensor presents a linear dynamic range of 1.0 × 10?6–1.0 × 10?1 M, with a Nernstian slope of 19.5 ± 0.4 mV decade?1 and a detection limit of 4.7 × 10?7 M. The response time is quick (less than 10 s). It can be used in the pH range of 3.3–8.4, and its duration is at least 2 mo without any considerable, noticeable potential divergence. The recommended sensor revealed comparatively good selectivity with respect to most alkali, alkaline earth, some transition, and heavy metal ions. It was successfully employed as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Dy(III) ions with EDTA. The membrane sensor also applied to the determination of concentration of Dy(III) ions in soil and sediment samples. Validation with certified reference materials (CRMs) was also carried out.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel membrane triiodide sensor based on a charge-transfer complex of (1,3-diphenyldihydro-1H-imidazole)-4,5-dionedioxime with iodine (CTCI) as a membrane carrier is introduced. The best performance was obtained with a membrane containing 30% polyvinylchloride (PVC), 63% dibutylphthalate (DBP), 5% CTCI, and 2% hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (HTAB). The electrode shows a Nernstian behavior (slope of 58.2 ± 0.3) over a very wide triiodide ion concentration range (5.0 × 10−8−1.0 × 10−2 M), and has a low detection limit (4.0 × 10−8 M). The potentiometric response of the sensor is independent of pH of the solution in the pH range 3.0–9.0. The proposed sensor has a very low response time (<12 s) and a good selectivity relative to a wide variety of common inorganic and organic anions, including iodide, bromide, chloride, nitrate, sulfate, thiocyanate, monohydrogen phosphate, and acetate. In fact, the selectivity behavior of the proposed triiodide ion-selective electrode shows great improvements compared to the previously reported electrodes for triiodide ion. The proposed membrane sensor can be used for at least 6 months without any divergence in its potentials. The electrode was successfully applied as an indicator electrode in the titration of triiodide with thiosulfate ion. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

In this work a dysprosium [Dy(III)]‐selective solvent polymeric membrane sensor based on N,N‐bis(pyrrolidene) benzne‐1,2‐diamine, poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC), the plasticizer benzylacetate (BA), and anionic site is described. This sensor responds to Dy(III) activity in a linear range from 1.0×10?5 to 1.0×10?1 M, with a slope of 20.6±0.2 mV per decade and a detection limit of 6.0×10?6 M at the pH range of 3.5–8.0. It has a fast response time of<20 s in the entire concentration range, and can be used for at least 2 months without any considerable divergence in the electrode potentials. The proposed sensor revealed comparatively good selectivity with respect to common alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. It was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of fluoride ions and in determination of concentration of F ions in some mouth washing solutions.  相似文献

2,5-Dioxo-4-imidazolidinyl was used as an excellent sensing material in the preparation of a PVC membrane for a Ce(III)-selective sensor. The electrode shows a good selectivity for the Ce(III) ion with respect to most common cations including alkali, alkaline earth, transition, and heavy metal ions. The developed sensor exhibits a wide linear response with a slope of 19.6?±?0.3 mV per decade over the concentration range of 1.0?×?10?6 to 1.0?×?10?1 M, while the illustrated detection limit is 5.7?×?10?7 M of Ce(III) ions. Moreover, it is concluded that the sensor response is pH-independent in the range of 3.1–9.8. The applications of the recommended electrode include the determination of concentration of Ce(III) ions in soil and sediment samples, validation with CRM's, and the Ce(III) ion potentiometric titration with EDTA as an indicator electrode.  相似文献

A polystyrene-based membrane of 7,8:16,17-dibenzo-6,9,15,18-tetraoxo-1,5,10,14-tetrathiacyclooctadeca-7,16-diene [Bz2Oxo4(18)dieneS4] was fabricated using sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB) and dioctyl phthalate (DOP) as anion excluder and plasticizing agent. The best performance was obtained from the membrane with the composition ionophore [Bz2Oxo4(18)dieneS4]:polystyrene:DOP:NaTPB, 5:100:150:10 (w/w). The response of the electrode was linear over a wide range of concentration, 1.26×10–6–1.00×10–1 mol L−1 for silver ion with a Nernstian slope of 58.4±0.1 mV per decade and a detection limit of 1.0×10−6 mol L−1. The electrode was found to be chemically inert and of adequate stability with a response time of 10 s and could be used for a period of 3 months without change of potential. It worked satisfactorily in mixtures containing up to 35% (v/v) non-aqueous content. The proposed membrane sensor had good selectivity for Ag+ over a wide variety of metal ions in the pH range 2.2–8.5. It was successfully used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of silver ion. The electrode was also useful for determination of Ag+ in waste from photographic films.  相似文献

A new chelating resin, Aurin tricarboxylic acid modified silica, was synthesized. The resin behaves as a selective chelating ion exchanger for Cr(III) at a pH 3.8-5.5. A polyvinyl chloride-based membrane electrode of the modified silica has been fabricated and explored as sensor for Cr(III) ions. The membrane works well over the concentration range 7.0 × 10−6 to 1 × 10−1 M of Cr(III) with a Nernstian slope of 19.0 mV per decade of concentration. The response time of the sensor is 10 s and it can be used for a period of 5 months. The performance of the sensor is best in the pH range 3.5-6.5 and it also works well in partially non-aqueous medium. The selectivity coefficient values depicts that the membrane exhibits good selectivity over a number of interfering ions. Moreover, the membrane sensor has been applied to analyse the concentration of chromium in certified steel sample and food materials with greater than 97% accuracy.  相似文献

A new all plastic sensor for Co2+ ions based on 2-amino-5 (hydroxynaphtyloazo-1′)-1,3,4 thiadiazole (ATIDAN) as ionophore was prepared. The electrode exhibits a low detection limit of 1.5 × 10−6 mol L−1 and almost theoretical Nernstian slope in the activity range 4.0 × 10−6–1 × 10−1 mol L−1 of cobalt ions. The response time of the sensor is less than 10 s and it can be used over a period of 6 months without any measurable divergence in potential. The proposed sensor shows a fairly good selectivity for Co(II) over other metal ions. The electrode was successfully applied for determination of Co2+ in real samples and as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of Co2+ ions with EDTA.   相似文献

Abstract

The construction, performance, and application of a new PVC membrane electrode for determination of the mercury(II) ion, based on 8,17-bis(pyren-1-ylmethyl)-6,7,8,9,15,16,17,18-octahydrodibenzo[f,m][1,8,4,11]dithiadiazacyclotetradecine as an ionophore, is described. The effects of factors such as membrane composition, the nature and amount of the plasticizers and additives, and pH for the improved sensitivity of the electrode were studied. The electrode had a Nernstian response for mercury(II) ions over the concentration range 1.0 × 10−2–1.0 × 10−6 mol dm−3 with a slope of 27.6 ± 0.6 mV/pHg. The detection limit for mercury(II) was 7.9 × 10−7 mol dm−3. The response time of the electrode was between 5 and 15 s, depending on the concentration of mercury, and it can be used in a pH range 4.0–4.5 for approximately 4 months without any substantial divergence of the response characteristics. It showed higher selectivity for mercury(II) ions than for several common alkali, alkaline earth, and transition metal ions except silver(I). The proposed electrode was successfully applied to direct determination of mercury in a dental filling amalgam alloy as a real sample with a complex matrix and as an indicator electrode in complexation titrations.  相似文献

A triiodide-selective electrode based on copper (II)-Schiff base complex as a membrane carrier is proposed. The electrode was prepared by incorporating the carrier into a plasticized polyvinylchloride (PVC) membrane and was directly coated on the surface of a graphite electrode. The obtained electrode showed a near Nernstian slope of 57.0 ± 0.4 mV/decade to I 3 ions over an activity range of 1.0 × 10−5−1.0 × 10−1 M with a limit of detection of 4.8 × 10−6 M. The response time of the electrode was fast (5 s) and the electrode could be used for about 2 months without considerable divergence in response. The potentiometric selectivity coefficients were evaluated and displayed anti-Hofmeister behavior. The electrode was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of the triiodide ion and in the determination of ascorbic acid in vitamin C tablets. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

A new poly(vinyl chloride)-based membrane was fabricated with the cobalt(II) complex of 2,4-dimethyl-1,5,8,11-tetraazacyclotrideca-1,4-diene [Me2(13)dieneN4] as an ion carrier. The membrane composition was Co2+ complex/PVC/NaTPB/DBP 15:50:15:20 (w/w). The sensor exhibited a Nernstian response for Co2+ ions over a wide concentration range (7.94×10−6–1.0×10−1 M) at pH 2.5–7.0, a response time of 10 s, and it could be used for 3 months without any significant divergence in potential. The proposed membrane sensor exhibited good selectivity for Co2+ over a wide variety of other metal ions and in mixtures containing up to 25% (v/v) non-aqueous content. The sensor was successfully used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Co2+ with EDTA and the direct determination of Co2+ in real samples.  相似文献

Iodide ion selective poly(aniline) solid contact electrode based on quinine-Cu ionophore as a sensing material has been successfully developed. The electrode exhibits good linear response of 52.0 mV/decade (at 20 ± 0.2°C, r 2 = 0.9998) within the concentration range of 1 × 10−6.4–1 × 10−1.0 M KI. The composition of this electrode was quinine-Cu 2.0: PVC 30.0: bis(2-ethylhexyl)sebacate 68.0 (mass). This plasticizer provides the best response characteristics. The electrode shows good selectivity for iodide ion in comparison with any other anions and is suitable for use with aqueous solutions of pH 3.3–9.4. The standard deviations of the measured EMF difference were ±1.4 and ±1.3 mV for iodide sample solutions of 1.0 × 10−2 M and 1.0 × 10−3 M, respectively. The stabilization time was less than 10 min and response time was less than 15 sec.  相似文献

Abstract

4-(2-Thiazolylazo)resorcinol (TR) was used as a new compound to play the role of an excellent ion carrier in the fabrication of an Er(III) membrane electrode. The electrode shows a very good selectivity toward Er(III) ions over a wide variety of cations, including alkali, alkaline earth, transition, and heavy-metal ions. The proposed sensor exhibits a Nernstian behavior (with slope of 19.6 ± 0.6 mV per decade) over a wide concentration range (1.0 × 10?6 to 1.0 × 10?2 M). The detection limit of the sensor is 6.6 × 10?7 M. It has a very short response time, in the whole concentration range (~10 s), and can be used for at least 12 weeks in the pH range of 2.8–9.3. The proposed sensor was successfully applied as an indicator electrode for the potentiometric titration of a Er(III) solution, with EDTA. It was also successfully applied to the F? ion determination in some mouthwashing solutions.  相似文献

A poly(L-methionine) modified electrode, fabricated by electrochemical immobilization of the L-methionine on a glassy carbon electrode, was used for simultaneous determination of dopamine and epinephrine through cyclic voltammetry. The electrochemical properties of dopamine and epinephrine have been investigated. This sensor gave two separated cathodic peaks at −0.282 and 0.112 V for EP and DA, respectively. A linear response was obtained in the range of 5.0 × 10−7 to 1.0 × 10−4 mol l−1 for epinephrine, and 1.0 × 10−6 to 5.0 × 10−4 mol l−1 for dopamine. The detection limits were 3.6 × 10−7 mol l−1 and 4.2 × 10−7 mol l−1 for epinephrine and dopamine, respectively. This method was successfully applied for simultaneous determination of dopamine and epinephrine in human urines. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

In this work, for the first time, we introduce a highly selective and sensitive Be(II) microsensor. 4-nitrobenzo-9-crown-3-ether (NBCE) was used as a membrane-active component to prepare a Be(II)-selective polymeric membrane microelectrode. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian response toward Be(II) ions over a very wide concentration range (1.0 × 10−4–1.0 × 10−10 M), with a detection limit of 3.5 × 10−11 M (∼350 pg/L). In fact, the electrode presents a fast response time in the whole concentration range (6 s). The proposed microelectrode can be used for at least six weeks without any considerable divergence in the potentials. The proposed membrane sensor revealed a selectivity toward Be(II) ions over a wide variety of other metal ions including common alkali, alkaline-earth, and rare-earth ions. It could be used in the pH range of 3.0–11.5. The microelectrode was successfully used as an indicator electrode for the titration of 20 mL of 1.0 × 10−6 M Be2+ solution with 1.0 × 10−4 M of EDTA. It was also applied to the direct determination of beryllium ions in beryl and binary mixtures. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献
