We introduce a cohomology theory of grading-restricted vertex algebras. To construct the correct cohomologies, we consider linear maps from tensor powers of a grading-restricted vertex algebra to “rational functions valued in the algebraic completion of a module for the algebra,” instead of linear maps from tensor powers of the algebra to a module for the algebra. One subtle complication arising from such functions is that we have to carefully address the issue of convergence when we compose these linear maps with vertex operators. In particular, for each ${n \in \mathbb{N}}$ , we have an inverse system ${\{H^{n}_{m}(V, W)\}_{m \in \mathbb{Z}_{+}}}$ of nth cohomologies and an additional nth cohomology ${H_{\infty}^{n}(V, W)}$ of a grading-restricted vertex algebra V with coefficients in a V-module W such that ${H_{\infty}^{n}(V, W)}$ is isomorphic to the inverse limit of the inverse system ${\{H^{n}_{m}(V, W)\}_{m\in \mathbb{Z}_{+}}}$ . In the case of n = 2, there is an additional second cohomology denoted by ${H^{2}_{\frac{1}{2}}(V, W)}$ which will be shown in a sequel to the present paper to correspond to what we call square-zero extensions of V and to first order deformations of V when W = V.  相似文献

This is a sequel to [Li4] and [Li5] in a series to study vertex algebra-like structures arising from various algebras such as quantum affine algebras and Yangians. In this paper, we study two versions of the double Yangian , denoted by DY q (sl 2) and with q a nonzero complex number. For each nonzero complex number q, we construct a quantum vertex algebra V q and prove that every DY q (sl 2)-module is naturally a V q -module. We also show that -modules are what we call V q -modules-at-infinity. To achieve this goal, we study what we call -local subsets and quasi-local subsets of for any vector space W, and we prove that any -local subset generates a (weak) quantum vertex algebra and that any quasi-local subset generates a vertex algebra with W as a (left) quasi module-at-infinity. Using this result we associate the Lie algebra of pseudo-differential operators on the circle with vertex algebras in terms of quasi modules-at-infinity.  相似文献

We present a general algebraic framework for the study of quantum/braided Clifford algebras. We allow that the quadratic form g on the base vector space takes values from a noncommutative algebra . Clifford algebra is understood as a Chevalley—Kähler deformation of the braided exterior algebra built from V, , and the initial braid operator : . The new product is canonically associated to g, , and , and it is constructed by applying Rota's and Stein Cliffordization.  相似文献

We introduce an affinization of the quantum Kac–Moody algebra associated to a symmetric generalized Cartan matrix. Based on the affinization, we construct a representation of the quantum Kac–Moody algebra by vertex operators from bosonic fields. We also obtain a combinatorial indentity about Hall–Littlewood polynomials.  相似文献

The extended quantum affine algebras of q-analogous vertex operator have been constructed in this Jet ter, and the similar algebra structure of q-analogous fermionic vertex operator is also analysed.  相似文献

Deformations of associative algebras in which time is the deformation parameter are constructed using quantum stochastic flows in which the usual multiplicativity requirement is replaced by multiplicativity with respect to the deformed multiplication. The theory is restricted by a commutativity requirement on the structure maps of the flow, but examples which can be constructed in this way include the noncommutative torus and the Weyl–Moyal deformation.  相似文献

We give an explicit L 2-representation of chiral charged fermions using the Hardy–Lebesgue octant decomposition. In the pure case such a representation has already been used by M. Sato in holonomic field theory. We study both pure and mixed cases. In the compact case, we rigorously define unsmeared chiral charged fermion operators inside the unit circle. Using chiral fermions, we orient our findings towards a functional analytic study of vertex algebras as one-dimensional quantum field theory.  相似文献

This is a paper in a series to study vertex algebra-like structures arising from various algebras including quantum affine algebras and Yangians. In this paper, we study notions of (h/2p){\hbar}-adic nonlocal vertex algebra and (h/2p){\hbar}-adic (weak) quantum vertex algebra, slightly generalizing Etingof-Kazhdan’s notion of quantum vertex operator algebra. For any topologically free \mathbb C[[(h/2p)]]{{\mathbb C}\lbrack\lbrack{\hbar}\rbrack\rbrack}-module W, we study (h/2p){\hbar}-adically compatible subsets and (h/2p){\hbar}-adically S{\mathcal{S}}-local subsets of (End W)[[x, x −1]]. We prove that any (h/2p){\hbar}-adically compatible subset generates an (h/2p){\hbar}-adic nonlocal vertex algebra with W as a module and that any (h/2p){\hbar}-adically S{\mathcal{S}}-local subset generates an (h/2p){\hbar}-adic weak quantum vertex algebra with W as a module. A general construction theorem of (h/2p){\hbar}-adic nonlocal vertex algebras and (h/2p){\hbar}-adic quantum vertex algebras is obtained. As an application we associate the centrally extended double Yangian of \mathfrak s\mathfrak l2{{\mathfrak s}{\mathfrak l}_{2}} to (h/2p){\hbar}-adic quantum vertex algebras.  相似文献

We define the partition and n-point functions for a vertex operator algebra on a genus two Riemann surface formed by sewing two tori together. We obtain closed formulas for the genus two partition function for the Heisenberg free bosonic string and for any pair of simple Heisenberg modules. We prove that the partition function is holomorphic in the sewing parameters on a given suitable domain and describe its modular properties for the Heisenberg and lattice vertex operator algebras and a continuous orbifolding of the rank two fermion vertex operator super algebra. We compute the genus two Heisenberg vector n-point function and show that the Virasoro vector one point function satisfies a genus two Ward identity for these theories.  相似文献

We present a generalization of Gerstenhaber's theory of deformations. We no longer assume that the deformation parameter t acts in its usual free and symmetric way on the elements of the original algebra A, but in the following manner: t · a = (a)t and a · t = (a)t, where and are endomorphisms of A. We develop the cohomological framework adapted to these deformations.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to define cohomology complexes and study deformation theory of Hom-associative algebra morphisms and Hom-Lie algebra morphisms. We discuss infinitesimal deformations, equivalent deformations and obstructions. Moreover, we provide various examples.  相似文献

We propose an extension of the definition of vertex algebras in arbitrary space–time dimensions together with their basic structure theory. A one–to–one correspondence between these vertex algebras and axiomatic quantum field theory (QFT) with global conformal invariance (GCI) is constructed.  相似文献

We develop a theory of f{\phi} -coordinated (quasi-) modules for a general nonlocal vertex algebra where f{\phi} is what we call an associate of the one-dimensional additive formal group. By specializing f{\phi} to a particular associate, we obtain a new construction of weak quantum vertex algebras in the sense of Li (Selecta Mathematica (New Series) 11:349–397, 2005). As an application, we associate weak quantum vertex algebras to quantum affine algebras, and we also associate quantum vertex algebras and f{\phi} -coordinated modules to a certain quantum βγ-system explicitly.  相似文献

We associate canonically a cyclic module to any Hopf algebra endowed with a modular pair in involution, consisting of a group-like element and a character. This provides the key construction for allowing the extension of cyclic cohomology to Hopf algebras in the nonunimodular case and, further, to developing a theory of characteristic classes for actions of Hopf algebras compatible not only with traces but also with the modular theory of weights. This applies to both ribbon and coribbon algebras as well as to quantum groups and their duals.  相似文献

We introduce notions of open-string vertex algebra, conformal open-string vertex algebra and variants of these notions. These are open-string-theoretic, noncommutative generalizations of the notions of vertex algebra and of conformal vertex algebra. Given an open-string vertex algebra, we show that there exists a vertex algebra, which we call the meromorphic center, inside the original algebra such that the original algebra yields a module and also an intertwining operator for the meromorphic center. This result gives us a general method for constructing open-string vertex algebras. Besides obvious examples obtained from associative algebras and vertex (super)algebras, we give a nontrivial example constructed from the minimal model of central charge We establish an equivalence between the associative algebras in the braided tensor category of modules for a suitable vertex operator algebra and the grading-restricted conformal open-string vertex algebras containing a vertex operator algebra isomorphic to the given vertex operator algebra. We also give a geometric and operadic formulation of the notion of grading-restricted conformal open-string vertex algebra, we prove two isomorphism theorems, and in particular, we show that such an algebra gives a projective algebra over what we call the Swiss-cheese partial operad.Acknowledgement.
