Dynamic holography in photorefractive materials using self-pumped phase conjugate beam of the object beam itself as the other writing beam is proposed. Our detailed theoretical analysis shows four-fold increase in the diffraction efficiency of dynamic holograms if recorded using this geometry even in photorefractive crystal like BTO (having low optical activity) without applying external field. An aspherical optical system for a rotator to separate compound fringes is proposed, which offers the advantages of large field of view, clearer image, shorter focal length and better utilisation of the laser energy. Based on this principle, a new holographic polariscope with a large field of view (200 mm in diameter) has recently been succesfully developed. Examples of application are given for a diesel engine piston and crankshaft.  相似文献

An important material property in the paper industry is the anisotropic stiffness distribution due to the fibrous microstructure of paper and to processing procedures. Ultrasonic methods offer a means of determining the stiffness of sheets of paper from the anisotropic propagation characteristics of elastic Lamb waves along the machine direction and the cross direction. That is, along and perpendicular to the direction of paper production. Currently, piezoelectric ultrasonic methods are employed in the industry to measure the elastic polar diagram of paper through multiple contacting measurements made in all directions. This paper describes a new approach utilizing the INEEL Laser Ultrasonic Camera to provide a complete image of the elastic waves traveling in all directions in the plane of the paper sheet. This approach is based on optical dynamic holographic methods that record the out of plane ultrasonic motion over the entire paper surface simultaneously without scanning. The full-field imaging technique offers great potential for increasing the speed of the measurement and it ultimately provides a substantial amount of information concerning local property variations and flaws in the paper. This report shows the success of the method and the manner in which it yields the elastic polar diagram for the paper from the dispersive flexural or antisymmetric Lamb wave.  相似文献

A novel method of obtaining shearing interferogram by slightly moving the crystal in a photorefractive interferometer is proposed. This method can measure the phase of an object itself instead of its diffraction field, and it is easy to realize continuously changeable shearing distance in any lateral direction and introduce carrier fringes at the same time. The photorefractive effect was observed in Fe-doped semi-insulating GaN. We measured the two-beam coupling constant and the grating formation time as a function of pump intensity at a wavelength of 458 nm in reflection geometry. The photorefractive gain coefficient was 0.39 cm−1, and the grating formation time was 7 ms at a pump intensity of 1.0 W/cm2. Besides the refractive index grating, the contribution of an absorption grating was also observed in a two-wave mixing experiment. The coupling constant of the absorption grating was negative and increased with the pump intensity. The origin of the absorption grating was attributed to light-intensity-dependent photochromism.  相似文献

A holographic technique is used to combine the information content of conventional, 2D tomographic scan images into a full-parallax, 3D reconstruction of the recorded subject. Advantages of the system over the conventional, pseudo-3D reconstructions obtained by computer image processing, or over the direct examination of the scan images by the physician, are a more realistic and detailed information to the observer, as true parallax and physical depth cues are fully maintained.  相似文献

A holographic Stokesmeter has the potential to be useful in high-speed polarization imaging applications. Highly polarization-sensitive gratings are an important component for this device. Using two sets of multiplexed gratings, we measured the Stokes parameters for three different polarization states of an input beam. These measured values compared well to values measured using the quarter-wave plate/linear polarizer method. This establishes the feasibility of such a Stokesmeter in its original configuration. We demonstrate further the basic mechanism behind a compact architecture for this device, requiring only a single substrate and a single imaging system, and describe a spectrally scanned polarimetric imaging system.  相似文献

给出了中心对称光折变晶体中屏蔽孤子的高阶空间电荷场.当高阶项可以忽略时,这个电荷场就变为早前在中心对称光折变晶体中研究的屏蔽孤子的空间电荷场.研究了中心对称光折变晶体中屏蔽孤子的高阶非线性波动方程.在适当的条件下,这个非线性波动方程能够展示明暗空间光孤子.这类晶体不同于非中心对称晶体,其非线性折射率的改变来源于二次电光效应,而不是一般的线性电光效应.应用光束传播的方法,对这些孤子的稳定性进行了讨论.表明在小的微扰下这类孤子是稳定的,不会发生分裂.  相似文献

A method employing pulsed illumination for the holographic analysis of vibration with space-variant phase is described. Superimposition of two stroboscopically recorded interference patterns to get the amplitude and the phase of vibration at the intersections of fringes is suggested. Contour maps of these two quantities over the entire object surface can then be prepared by interpolation. Detailed solutions are presented for single and double frequency vibrations.  相似文献

根据光折变多重体光栅的滤波原理,在10×10×10 mm3的LiNbO3∶Fe晶体中利用循环曝光法写入了光栅波矢夹角为0.037°且衍射效率均衡的8重体光栅,实验上证实了光写入多重光折变体光栅应用于波分复用系统的可行性.利用LiNbO3∶Fe晶体制作了一个原理性双通道波分复用器,成功地实现了对相同方向入射的波长分别为635 nm和650 nm的两束光的有效分离,并根据布喇格条件,将光折变体光栅应用于光波波长的测量,测量精度可达10 pm量级.  相似文献

This work describes the design and application of an apparatus to image aerosol particles using digital holography in a flow-through, contact-free manner. Particles in an aerosol stream are illuminated by a triggered, pulsed laser and the pattern produced by the interference of this light with that scattered by the particles is recorded by a digital camera. The recorded pattern constitutes a digital hologram from which an image of the particles is computationally reconstructed using a fast Fourier transform. This imaging is validated using a cluster of ragweed pollen particles. Examples involving mineral-dust aerosols demonstrate the technique's in situ imaging capability for complex-shaped particles over a size range of roughly 15-500 μm micrometers. The focusing-like character of the reconstruction process is demonstrated using a NaCl aerosol particle and is compared to a similar particle imaged with a conventional microscope.  相似文献

We have studied the anisotropic diffraction properties of the stratified volume holographic gratings recorded in photorefractive media using the anisotropic coupled wave theory. It is shown that the diffraction efficiency of such system exhibit the uniform periodic Bragg selectivity properties. In addition the dependence of the stratified volume holographic optical elements (SVHOEs) diffraction properties on the buffer-layer thickness, grating-layer thickness, number of modulation layers, and total thickness of system are discussed in detail.  相似文献

掺入0.33%苯基三氯硅烷制备了分子量为51 874的支化聚甲基苯基硅烷,由此改善了聚甲基苯基硅烷薄膜波导的成膜质量.报告了相应的成膜技术、膜厚控制技术、热处理技术和热氧化现象.采用紫外曝光手段研究了支化聚甲基苯基硅烷薄膜的光漂白效应,定性测试了曝光剂量与反应生成硅氧烷的正比关系.实验归纳了支化聚甲基苯基硅烷薄膜的光折变规律,获得了控制薄膜厚度和折射率的定量条件.  相似文献

In order to suppress sidelobes of holographic filter’s spectral response we propose to use weighting of grating intensity distribution along light propagation. This can be realized in photorefractive material (for example in LiNbO3:Fe) by using spatial selective decaying of conventional uniform grating by illumination of light through some transparent mask. Experimental results show that it is able to obtain 8 dB improvement of sidelobe level compared to uniform grating. But it is accompanied by 1.7 times expansion of main lobe and two times decrease of diffraction efficiency.  相似文献

Optical storage of information offers great potential for high capacity and speed. A very promising approach to the embodiment of an optical memory is based on volume storage in the form of phase holograms. Attractive storage materials for such a system are electrooptic crystals. The storage mechanism in these materials is based on light induced permanent changes of the refractive index-the photorefractive effect. In this article the physical processes underlying photorefractive hologram recording are outlined, and some of the advantages and limitations of this method are discussed.  相似文献
