Novel polypyrazolinones with inherent viscosities ranging from 0.12 to 0.44 dL/g were prepared by the Michael-type nucleophilic addition-cyclization of various dihydrazines with 3,3′-(1,3- or 1,4-phenylene)bis(ethyl propynoate) (1,3- or 1,4-PEP) and 3,3′-(1,4-phenylene)bis(phenyl propynoate) (1,4-PPhP) in N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) solution at 25–110°C. The polymers exhibited moderate thermal stability with initial weight loss in air about 200°C and in nitrogen about 300°C (TGA). No apparent Tg′s were observed by DSC analysis. The synthesis and characterization of the polypyrazolinones is discussed.  相似文献

Two types of polypyrazoles, unsubstituted and phenylated, were prepared by a novel synthetic route involving the cyclopolycondensation of aromatic dihydrazines and aromatic dipropynones. The polymers had inherent viscosities as high as 1.05 dL/g and were soluble in N, N-dimethylacetamide, chloroform (phenylated polypyrazoles only), and sulfuric acid. The polymers exhibited glass transition temperatures ranging from 202 to 266°C and polymer decomposition temperatures (10% weight loss) as measured by thermogravimetric analysis of 400–500°C in air and 465–512°C in nitrogen. The synthesis and characterization of several polypyrazoles are discussed.  相似文献

Novel poly(enonsulfides) were prepared with inherent viscosities as high as 1.35 dL/g by nucleophilic addition of various aromatic dithiols to 1,1′-(1,3- or 1,4-phenylene)bis(3-phenyl-2-propyn-1-one) in m-cresol at 25–40°C. A tough clear yellow film with a tensile strength of 11,300 psi and a tensile modulus of 466,000 psi at 25°C was cast from a chloroform solution of the polymer prepared from 1,3-dithiobenzene and 1,1′-(1,4-phenylene)bis(3-phenyl-2-propyn-1-one). The poly(enonsulfides) exhibited Tg's as high as 180°C and weight losses of approximately 10% at 331°C in air. The synthesis and characterization of several poly(enonsulfides) are discussed.  相似文献

Novel polyamides containing 2,3,6,7-dibenzo-1-thia-4,5-diazacy-clohepta-2,4,6-triene-4′,4″-dicarboxy-l, l-dioxide (VII) are reported. The acid VII was prepared in several steps from p-chlorobenzoic acid and characterized by spectral data and elemental analysis. Prior to polymer synthesis, a model diamide (MDA) was prepared from VII and p-toluidine. The model diamide and several polyamides were obtained in an overall yield of (75-90%) by direct polycondensation of acid VII with certain diamines through a phosphorylation reaction at 100-110°C employing a solvent mixture of NMP-pyridine. The resulting polyamides and MDA were characterized by spectral, analytical, and thermal methods. The solubility, density, viscosity, and morphology (X-ray) were also studied for the polyamides. These polymers were moderately soluble in conventional polymer solvents, and the inherent viscosities were measured in concentrated sulfuric acid. Integral procedural decomposition temperatures (ipdt) were calculated from their primary thermogram in the temperature range 100-650°C in order to have quantitative data regarding their relative thermal stabilities. The polymers exhibit a 10% weight loss at 500°C in static air.  相似文献

A series of new poly(arylene ether)s, containing naphthalene, pyridine, and quinoline units have been prepared by solution condensation polymerization. The synthesis involves nucleophilic displacement of aromatic dihalides with aromatic potassium bisphenates in an anhydrous dipolar aprotic solvent at elevated temperatures. The polymers, having inherent viscosity from 0.24 to 1.32 dL/g, were obtained in quantitative yield, have excellent thermal stability as shown by 10% weight loss temperatures in nitrogen and air (above 450 and 430°C, respectively) and high glass transition temperatures (in the range of 150–220°C). The introduction of quinoline moieties in the polymer backbone positively influences the thermal properties, such as high Tg/Tm ratios. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

1-(p-N-Carbazolylphenyl)-2-phenylacetylene (p-CzDPA) was polymerized by TaCl5–co-catalyst systems (cocatalysts: n-Bu1Sn, Et3SiH, and 9BBN) to produce acetone-insoluble polymers in about 60-70% yields. Poly(p-CzDPA) was a yellowish-orange solid, most part of which was soluble in toluene, chloroform, etc., and its weight-average molecular weights were around 4×105. This polymer formed a tough film by solution casting, and was thermally very stable (the onset temperature of weight loss in TGA in air 470°C). The oxygen per-meability coefficient of the polymer at 25°C was lower than two barrers. The present polymer showed photoconductivity and redox activity. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Bis(4-oxybenzoic acid) tetrakis(phenoxy) cyclotriphosphazene (IUPAC name: 4-[4-(carboxyphenoxy)-2,4,6,6-tetraphenoxy-1,3,5,2λ5,4λ5,6λ5-triazatriphosphinin-2-yl]oxy-benzoic acid) was synthesized and direct polycondensed with diphenylether or 1,4-diphenoxybenzene in Eaton's reagent at the temperature range of 80–120°C for 3 hours to give aromatic poly(ether ketone)s. Polycondensations at 120°C gave polymer of high molecular weight. Incorporation of cyclotriphosphazene groups in the aromatic poly(ether ketone) backbone greatly enhanced the solubility of these polymers in common organic polar solvents. Thermal stabilities by TGA for two polymer samples of polymer series ranged from 390 to 354°C in nitrogen at 10% weight loss and glass transition temperatures (Tg) ranged from 81.4 to 89.6°C by DSC. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Seven new structurally different bismaleimides were synthesized and characterized by infrared and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The chain of these polymer precursors was extended by incorporating amidized, imidized, and esterified 4-chloroformyl phthalic anhydride. The bismaleimides containing amide and imide linkages were prepared by a simple synthetic route based on the reaction of the monomaleamic acid derived from various aromatic diamines (1 mol) with 4-chloroformyl phthalic anhydride (0.5 mol) and subsequent cyclodehydration of the intermediate triamic acid. In addition, chain extended bismaleimides were prepared by reacting the monomaleamic acid derived from p-phenylenediamine with several dianhydrides such as p-phenylene bis(trimellitamide anhydride), p-phenylene bis(trimellitate anhydride), and bis-phenol A bis(trimellitate anhydride). The differential thermal analysis scans of bismaleimides showed exotherms at 221–304°C associated with their polymerization reactions. The thermogravimetric analysis traces of polymers did not show a weight loss up to 351–393 and 344–372°C in N2 and air atmospheres, respectively. The anaerobic char yield of polymers at 800°C was 44–61%. These polymers can be used for fabrication of composites having improved properties.  相似文献

(p-tert-Butyl-o,o-dimethylphenyl)acetylene (BDMPA) polymerized in high yields in the presence of W and Mo catalysts. Especially the W(CO)6–CCl4hv catalyst quantitatively produced a polymer totally soluble in toluene and chloroform. The weight-average molecular weight of this polymer exceeded 2 × 106. Poly(BDMPA) was a dark brown solid, and had alternating double bonds along the main chain. The weight loss of the polymer in air occurred only above 300°C, indicating a fairly high thermal stability. A free-standing film could be fabricated by solution casting. The electrical conductivity of the polymer at 25°C was 1 × 10−13 S cm−1. The oxygen permeability coefficient and the separation factor of O2 vs. N2 of the polymer at 25°C were 67 barrers and 3.2, respectively. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The isomeric diamine monomer 5(6)‐amino‐1‐(4‐aminophenyl)‐1,3,3‐trimethylindane (DAPI) was successfully synthesized via the dimerization of α‐methylstyrene followed by nitration and reduction. High molecular weight, soluble polyimides were synthesized via ester–acid solution imidization techniques and had glass‐transition temperature values ranging from 247 to 369 °C. The polymers were soluble in common organic solvents because of the asymmetric and nonplanar nature of DAPI and displayed good short‐term thermal stability by thermogravimetric analysis, as shown by their 5% weight‐loss values above 500 °C in air. The DAPI/(3,4‐dicarboxyphenyl) hexafluoropropane dianhydride (6FDA) polyimide also showed 2‐h thermal stability at 400 °C under nitrogen, despite the partial aliphatic character. Refractive index values as low as 1.571 were observed for DAPI/6FDA, which allows an estimated dielectric constant of 2.47 to be derived. The permeation of O2 and N2 was conducted on thin dense films. The bulky, bent, and isomeric nature of DAPI imparted film‐forming membranes that permitted high O2 permeability. In combination with 3,3′,4,4′‐benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride (BTDA), DAPI had a good combination of O2 permeability and O2/N2 selectivity values of 2.8 Ba and 7.3, respectively. The polymerization method utilized to facilitate the cyclization of DAPI/BTDA to the polyimide affected the final thermal properties of the resulting polymer. The chemical imidization of DAPI/BTDA generated a polyimide with a glass‐transition temperature value of 311 °C and a 5% weight‐loss value in air of 457 °C. However, thermal and ester–acid imidization routes yielded an increase in the thermal properties. The ester–acid solution imidization of DAPI/BTDA produced a polymer glass‐transition temperature value of 333 °C and a 5% weight‐loss value of 525 °C in air. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Poly(arylene ether ketone)s containing imide units were prepared by the aromatic nucleophilic displacement reaction of the potassium salts of bisphenols with bis(4-fluorobenzoyl)phthalimides in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone at elevated temperature. The polymers having inherent viscosities of 0.34–0.77 dL/g were obtained in 2 h. The polymers exhibited glass transition temperatures ranging from 216 to 268°C and decomposition temperatures (5% weight loss under air atmosphere) ranging from 450–570°C mainly depending on the bisphenols used in the polymer synthesis. The isothermal TGA measurements (400°C under air or nitrogen atmosphere) revealed that the 4,4'-biphenol- and hydroquinone-based poly(arylene ether ketone imide)s belong to a superior class of heat resistant polymers. The mechanical properties of these polymers are also described. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Four phenyl-substituted polyquinoxalines have been prepared by the reaction of combinations of two tetraamines, 3,3′-diaminobenzidine and 3,3,′4,4′-tetraaminodiphenyl ether, with two bisbenzils, 4,4′-dibenzil and 4,4′-oxydibenzil. The polymers were prepared by melt and solution polymerizations. Melt condensations were performed at 180, 220, and 280°C. and samples were periodically removed and characterized. The solution polymerizations consisted of two stages, initially forming an intermediate molecular weight polymer (ηinh 0.6–1.0) which was advanced at 400°C. to final polymer (ηinh 1.5 to 2.2). Clear yellow films, cast from m-cresol solution, exhibited good toughness and flexibility. The phenyl-substituted polyquinoxalines exhibited excellent oxidative and thermal stability. Polymer decomposition temperatures in air were generally about 550°C. Isothermal aging at 371°C. (700°F.) in air showed weight retentions as high as 93 and 50% after 100 and 200 hr., respectively. Weight-average molecular weight determination by light-scattering technique on a polymer with an ηinh of 2.16 suggested a value of 247,000. Certain physical properties of the phenyl-substituted polyquinoxalines are compared with those of the corresponding ordinary polyquinoxalines to illustrate the advantageous effect of introducing a phenyl group on the quinoxaline ring.  相似文献

3,3-Bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl]phthalide ( II ) was used as a monomer with various aromatic dicarboxylic acids and dianhydrides to synthesize polyamides and polyimides, respectively. The diamine II was derived by a nucleophilic substitution of phenolphthalein with p-chloronitrobenzene in the presence of K2CO3. Polyamides IV a-g having inherent viscosities of 0.77–2.46 dL/g were prepared by the direct polycondensation of diamine II with diacids III a-g using triphenyl phosphite and pyridine as condensing agents. The polyamides were readily soluble in a variety of solvents such as N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF), N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc), and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP) and afforded transparent and flexible films from the polymer solutions. These polymers had glass transition temperatures (Tgs) in the 227–307°C range and 10% weight loss temperatures occurred up to 450°C. Polyimides VI a-e based on diamine II and various aromatic dianhydrides V a-e were synthesized by the two-stage procedure that included ring-opening, followed by thermal or chemical conversion to polyimides. Most of the polyimides obtained by chemical cyclodehydration procedure were found to soluble in DMF, NMP, o-chlorophenol, and m-cresol. The Tgs of these polyimides were in the 260–328°C range and showed almost no weight loss up to 500°C under air and nitrogen atmosphere. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

3-(4-Fluorobenzoyl)carbazole was synthesized by a Friedel-Crafts reaction of carbazole with 4-fluorobenzoylchloride. 1H-NMR and MALDI-TOF MS confirmed the structure and the purity. Copolymers of these NH/OH-containing monomers were prepared with 4, 4′-biphenol and bis(4-fluorophenyl)sulfone as comonomers by combined C-O and C-N coupling reactions with activated difluorides. These copolymers were soluble in N-methylpyrrolidinone (NMP), dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc) and dimethylformamide (DMF). The inherent viscosities of the copolymers in NMP solutions at 30°C were all around 0.8 dL/g. They could be easily cast into tough films from NMP solutions. The copolymers exhibited Tgs ranging from 238°C to 282°C. Thermal stabilities by TGA showed no weight loss below 400°C and the temperatures of 5% weight loss ranged from 535°C to 558°C. The homopolymer of 3-(4-fluorobenzoyl)carbazole was insoluble in common solvents and had a Tg of 332°C, and temperature of 5% weight loss of 560°C. UV-VIS absorption and fluorescence of the polymers are also presented.  相似文献

Novel poly(enamine-ketones) were prepared with inherent viscosities as high as 1.99 dL/g using the Michael-type addition of various diamines to 1,1′-(1,3 or 1,4-phenylene)bis(3-phenyl-2-propyn-1-one) in m-cresol at 60–130°C. Tough, clear, amber films with tensile strengths of 12, 400 psi and tensile moduli of 397, 000 psi were cast from solutions of the polymers in chloroform. The polymers exhibited Tgs as high as 235°C and weight losses of 14% after aging at 232°C in circulating air for 60 h. Two high molecular weight (ηinh > 1.0) soluble poly-as-triazines have been prepared by the solution polycondensation in m-cresol of 2,6-pyridinediyl dihydrazidine with p,p′-oxybis(phenyleneglyoxal hydrate) and with p,p′-oxydibenzil. Thermal characterization of the poly-as-triazines by TGA showed polymer decomposition temperatures of ~400°C after a 300°C cure in argon. Poly-as-triazines exhibited weight losses <8% after aging in static air at 316°C for 200 hr. Clear yellow films cast for m-cresol solutions exhibited good flexibility and toughness even after aging at 316°C for 200 hr in air and after refluxing in 10% aqueous potassium hydroxide solution for 24 hr.  相似文献

The article deals with synthesis, characterization, and polymerization of 5-norbornene-2,3-dicarboximide end-capped resins (bisnadimides) based on 4,4′-diaminodiphenylether, 1,4/1,3-bis(4′-aminophenoxy) benzene, 2,2′-bis[4-(4′-aminophenoxy)phenyl]propane, and bis[4-(4′-aminophenoxy)phenyl]sulphone. Both exo and endo bisnadimides were prepared by reacting the aromatic diamines with exo or endo nadic anhydride in glacial acetic acid at 120°C. The exo or endo bisnadimides could be distinguished on the basis of differences observed in IR or 1H-NMR spectra. Both thermal (in solid state) and metathetical polymerization (using WCl6/tetramethyltin catalyst and chlorobenzene solvent) of bisnadimides was carried out. Only exo bisnadimides could be polymerized using metathesis reaction whereas thermal polymerization of both endo and exo bisnadimide could be successfully carried out at 300°C in static air atmosphere. The polymers were highly crosslinked and insoluble in common organic solvents. The polymers obtained by metathesis polymerization were light brown in color whereas those obtained by thermal polymerization were dark brown in color. Thermal stability of the thermally polymerized exo or endo bisnadimides was comparable. These polymers were stable up to 400°C and decomposed in a single step above this temperature. The char yield at 800°C depended on the structure of the polymer and was in the 39–56% range. The polymers formed by metathesis polymerization showed a 1–3% weight loss in the temperature range 226–371°C and decomposed in a single step above 440°C. The char yields were higher in these polymers (53–71%) compared to those obtained by thermal polymerization. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 35 : 2323–2331, 1997  相似文献

A series of new poly(arylene ether phenyl-s-triazine)s was prepared by the nucleophilic aromatic substitution polymerization of the potassium salt of bisphenols with 2,4-bis (halophenyl)-6-phenyl-s-triazine in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone at elevated temperature. The polymers with inherent viscosities exceeding 0.5 were obtained after polymerization for 1 h using 2,4-bis(fluorophenyl)-6-phenyl-s-triazine as a monomer. The glass transition temperatures of the resulting polymers ranged from 200 to 260°C depending on the bisphenol used in the polymer synthesis. The poly(arylene ether phenyl-s-triazine)s demonstrated excellent thermal stabilities in excess of 490°C (5% weight loss in air). The isothermal TGA measurements (400°C under air or nitrogen atmosphere) revealed that the 4,4'-biphenol- and hydroquinone-based poly(arylene ether phenyl-s-triazine)s belong to the most superior class of heat resistant polymers, such as polyimide Kapton?. High‐molecular‐weight poly(phthalazinone)s with very high glass‐transition temperatures (Tg's) were synthesized via a novel N–C coupling reaction. New bisphthalazinone monomers ( 7a–e ) were synthesized from 2‐(4‐chlorobenzoyl) phthalic acid in two steps. Poly(phthalazinone)s, having inherent viscosities in the range of 0.34–0.91 dL/g, were prepared by the reaction of the bis(phthalazinone) monomers with an activated aryl halide in a dipolar aprotic solvent in the presence of potassium carbonate. The poly(phthalazinone)s exhibited Tg's greater than 230 °C. polymer 8b synthesized from diphenyl biphenol and bis(4‐flurophenyl) sulfone demonstrated the highest Tg of 297 °C. Thermal stabilities of the poly(phthalazinone)s were determined by thermogravimetric analysis. All the poly(phthalazinone)s showed a similar pattern of decomposition with no weight loss below 450 °C in nitrogen. The temperatures of 5% weight loss were observed to be about 500 °C. The poly(phthalazinone)s containing 4,4′‐isopropylidenediphenol and 4,4′‐(hexafluoroisopropylidene) diphenol and diphenyl ether linkage were soluble in chlorinated solvents such as chloroform. Other poly‐(phthalazinone)s were soluble in dipolar aprotic solvents such as N,N′‐dimethylacetamide. The soluble poly(phthalazinone)s can be cast as flexible films from solution. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 41: 2481–2490, 2003  相似文献

The phosphorus-containing aromatic polyethers were prepared from bis(p-chlorophenyl)phenylphosphine oxide (BCPO) with the sodium salt of several bisphenols by high temperature solution polycondensation. The best result (yield 84%, n sp /c = 0.15) was obtained from BCPO with bisphenol A (BPA) in dimethyl sulfoxide. However, the polymerization in the solvents such as N, N′-dimethyl-2-pyrrolidone, hexamethylphosphoramide, and N,N′-dimethylformamide, and the polymerization with the other bisphenols HO-C6H4-X-C6H4?OH, where X = CO, S02, CH3P(O), C6H5P(O) in place of BPA gave gumlike polymers. The polymer prepared from BCPO and BPA did not decompose up to ca. 300°C under air or nitrogen atmosphere, but it decomposed slowly at 300–520°C, and decomposed rapidly at 520–540°C. The activation energy (δE) for the maximum rate of weight loss was 47.8 kcal/mole.  相似文献
