Concretes are used for shielding in nuclear power plants. Beta radiation is emitted during the nuclear reactions. This beta radiation interacts with the concrete and results in secondary radiation such as bremsstrahlung. Shielding parameters of beta-induced bremsstrahlung in concretes are important in the field of radiation protection. We have evaluated the cross section, yield, intensity and dose rate of beta-induced bremsstrahlung by pure beta nuclides of end point energy ranges from 0.4 to 5?MeV in some polymer-based concretes such as sulfur polymer concrete, barium polymer concrete, calcium polymer concrete, fluorine polymer concrete, chlorine polymer concrete and germanium polymer concrete. We have compared the shielding properties among the studied polymer concretes. The efficiency, intensity and dose rate of bremsstrahlung increases with a maximum energy of beta nuclide and modified atomic number of the concrete. From the detailed study, it is clear that the barium polymer concrete is having large bremsstrahlung dose rate and specific bremsstrahlung constant values than the other studied polymer concretes. This means barium polymer concrete is a good absorber of bremsstrahlung radiation than the other studied polymer concretes.  相似文献

采用化学接枝聚合法制备了聚丙烯酸铅辐射防护材料,利用傅里叶变换红外光谱仪(FT-IR)和扫描电镜(SEM)对其结构进行了分析,并利用多道γ谱仪测量了其屏蔽率.利用EGSnrc软件,通过蒙特卡罗模拟,理论计算了防护材料的屏蔽率,讨论了引入样品前后,注量和剂量的变化规律.结果表明:制备的防护材料具有优良的屏蔽性能,其屏蔽效果与射线能量有关.在纯空气介质中,注量和剂量的变化均与粒子能量相关,注量随深度成不连续的阶梯分布,梯高相等,梯宽逐渐变窄,剂量随深度缓慢增加.样品引入后,在空气介质区域,注量和剂量的变化不再与能量相关,而与样品的厚度有关.样品介质区域和空气介质区域的注量都成非线性变化,注量和剂量的变化率在样品与空气分界处,出现了明显的转折. 关键词: 辐射防护 屏蔽性能 EGSnrc  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Recently, the research for replacing heavy lead goods, such as medical radiation shielding sheets with environmentally friendly shielding materials has been widely carried out. The use of tungsten injected into the base material of polyethylene resin may be a good alternative for manufacturing lightweight shielding sheets. However, the increase of the mass ratio of tungsten in the shielding sheets is accompanied by the degradation of their physical properties such as tensile strength and flexibility. In this report, we have tried to fix this problem by adding Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) to the mixing process of materials. If the portion of the added PMMA is 20%, it leads to a 25% increase of the particle packing ratio while there is a simultaneous 28% enhancement of tensile strength compared to before adding it. In the final test for shielding efficiency, it also turned out that the increase of the particle packing ratio for tungsten exhibits the same shielding efficiency as that of 0.2?mmPb. This consequence may imply that mass production of sheets that can prevent scattering rays in the medical radiation frequency range is possible through the calender process using a 0.3?mm tungsten sheet.  相似文献

分析了电缆电磁脉冲屏蔽效能传统测量方法的局限,提出了辐射法测量电缆电磁脉冲屏蔽效能的试验方法。该方法根据互易性原理,将屏蔽效能定义中的电缆耦合场测量转变成电缆辐射场测量。通过电缆屏蔽前后辐射场的测量,得到电缆的电磁脉冲屏蔽效能。以SYV50-5同轴电缆为对象,采用辐射法研究了其对电磁脉冲的屏蔽效能,试验取得了较理想的效果。由于互易性原理对介质空间除了线性没有特别的要求,对于传统方法很难处理的多芯电缆、双屏蔽电缆、特种电缆等的屏蔽效能测量,辐射法测量同样有效。通过改变传感器的类型测量辐射磁场,还可以得到电缆对磁场的屏蔽效能。  相似文献

In this work, we examined the usefulness of the WCx/Al100?x composites (x?=?10, 20, 50, 80 wt. %) for gamma-ray shielding materials. The mass attenuation coefficient (μ/ρ), effective atomic number (Zeff), electron density (Ne) and energy absorption buildup factor (EABF) and exposure buildup factor (EBF) for WCx/Al100?x composites have been calculated by theoretical approach using XCOM program within the energy range 1?keV–100?GeV, 10 keV–1?GeV, 10 keV–1?GeV and 0.015?MeV–15?MeV, respectively. The results showed that both the values of mass attenuation coefficient and Zeff of the WCx/Al100?x composites tend to increase with the increase of the WC concentration. For the energy region below 3?MeV, the WC80/Al20 composite was found to possess superior gamma-ray shielding effectiveness due to its higher values of both mass attenuation coefficient and effective atomic number, and lower values of both EABF and EBF values. However, for the energy region above 3?MeV, the EBF and EABF values of the WC/Al composites are directly proportional to their Zeff values, leading to the lowest EBF and EABF values of the WC10/Al90 composites.  相似文献

A numerical simulation for a radio frequency (RF) thermal plasma torch was carried out to identify the temperature and velocity distributions and determine the optimal design of a plasma system based on the coil turn and torch inner diameter parameters. Then, the optimized conditions of five coil turns and a torch inner diameter of 64 mm were applied to synthesize titanium boride nanoparticles. The major crystal structure of the synthesized titanium boride nanoparticles was TiB2, with TiB as a minor phase and an average particle size of 42 nm. Subsequently, the gamma-ray shielding performance was analyzed using synthesized titanium boride nanoparticles. Flexible shielding materials were fabricated using a hydrogel to load the synthesized nanoparticles. The attenuation coefficient of the titanium boride nanoparticle flexible material was 0.238 cm−1, and the half-value layer was 2.91 cm.  相似文献

Composite materials containing electrically conductive expanded graphite (EG) and magnetic iron nano-particles for electromagnetic shielding were prepared by impregnating EG with an ethanol solution containing iron nitrate and acetic acid, followed by drying and reduction in H2. Magnetic nano-iron particles were found to be highly dispersed on the surface of EG in the Fe/EG composites, and played the role of enhancing the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (SE) at low frequencies (0.3-10 MHz), which seemed to depend proportionally on magnetic hysteresis loss of loaded iron nano-particles.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper, the radiation shielding parameters such as linear attenuation coefficients (LAC, µ), mass attenuation coefficients (MAC, µ/ρ), effective atomic numbers (Zeff), effective electron densities (Neff), half value of layers (HVL), mean free paths (MFP) and buildup factors (exposure (EBF) and energy absorption (EABF)) were investigated for cream (M1), pink (M2), white (M3), maroon (M4) and green (M5) marbles. Attenuation coefficients were measured in the energy region 31.18–661.66 keV photon energies. The values of Zeff and Neff were then calculated using these coefficients with logarithmic interpolation method, and HVLs and MFPs were calculated using the values of LAC of marble samples at the same photon energies. The experimental results were compared with the theoretical values obtained from WinXCom program, and good agreements were observed between the experimental and theoretical results. HVLs and MFPs of all marble samples were compared with those of some concretes, glasses and commercial radiation shielding glasses (SCHOTT Co.). The studied marbles were better radiation shielding materials than standard shielding concretes due to lower HVL and MFP values lower than the ordinary concrete. Finally, EBFs and EABFs of the marbles were calculated in the energy region 0.015–1?MeV up to penetration depths of 40 mfps by Geometric Progression method (G-P), and the results were discussed in terms of photon energies and chemical compositions of the marbles.  相似文献

为分析不同基底材料光学窗口电磁屏蔽性能,以Kohin的等效薄膜模型为基础,考虑电磁波在材料2个界面中的多次反射和折射,得到电磁波界面反射系数,利用matlab编写程序计算相同网栅、不同厚度、不同材料的屏蔽效率曲线,分析了厚度和材料对光窗屏蔽效率的影响。为验证仿真数据的准确性,在ZnS基底上制作了周期为500 μm、线宽为15 μm,电阻≤20 Ω的测试样片,测试其在8 GHz~18 GHz频段的电磁屏蔽效能。通过对比可看出:测试与理论计算数据较符合,误差约为2 dB~4 dB,计算数据可以预估光学窗口电磁屏蔽性能,为后续的设计工作提供参考。  相似文献

Abstract

The shielding effect of an iron sphere assembly has been tested for a Pu-α-Be neutron source placed in the center of the shield assembly. Emergent neutron and gamma spectra were measured with a stilbene scintillation counter. Discrimination between neutrons and gammas was achieved by the pulse shape discrimination technique based on the zero crossing method. Calculations have been made using the one-dimensional transport code ANISN-Westinghouse version (ANISN-W) and the EUR LiB 15/5 cross section data set. The agreement between measurements and calculations indicates that the cross section set and the calculation model are suitable for studying the iron shielding experiments over the neutron energy range 1.35–10 MeV and the gamma energy range 0.3–6 MeV. Total macroscopic cross sections for fast neutrons, linear attenuation coefficients for gamma rays and half-value thicknesses for neutrons and gammas for the whole energy range and at different energies have been obtained.  相似文献

计算了11 MeV 正电子发射成像回旋加速器18O(p, n)18F反应的双微分截面数据,并采用蒙特卡罗模拟计算方法,分析了单一材料及复合结构对特定辐射源的防护性能。采用单一材料,质量分数为73.8%的重混凝土的防护效果最佳,经过90 cm厚屏蔽层的衰减,距离辐射源正前方1 m处的总剂量降低约5个量级;复合结构采用多层结构,材料选用铁及硼酸溶液,同样厚度即可达到与重混凝土相同的防护效果,密度可降低至少20%。  相似文献

The properties of boron nitride (BN), boron phosphide (BP), aluminum nitride (AlN), and aluminum phosphide (AlP) nanocones were investigated by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The investigated structures were optimized and chemical shielding (CS) properties including isotropic and anisotropic CS parameters were calculated for the atoms of the optimized structures. The magnitudes of CS parameters were observed to be mainly dependent on the bond lengths of considered atoms. The results indicated that the atoms could be divided into atomic layers due to the similarities of their CS properties for the atoms of each layer. The trend means that the atoms of each layer detect almost similar electronic environments. Moreover, the atoms at the apex and mouth of nanocones exhibit different properties with respect to the other atomic layers.  相似文献

利用柔性屏蔽材料不平整性使屏蔽腔内场环境易于满足各向同性、均匀分布、随机极化统计特征的特点,研究了三种不同柔性屏蔽材料搭建的模式搅拌混响室的可行性。在Z字形搅拌器的作用下通过测量得到低频场均匀性和高频归一化电场的概率密度函数,根据IEC 61000-4-21-2011标准和理想混响室模型验证了所搭建混响室的有效性。在此基础之上,通过实验测量分析了搅拌器转速、天线高度、天线位置对归一化电场概率密度函数(PDF)的影响,并利用所搭建混响室对加载开孔电大金属腔的电磁屏蔽效能进行了测试。研究结果表明利用柔性屏蔽材料搭建混响室具有较好的可行性。  相似文献

All materials provide, to a lesser or greater extent, shielding against nuclear radiations. Armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs) have steel as the structural material, which appears to be a reasonably good gamma and neutron shield material but a shield of pure iron would not be equally effective against whole range of neutron energies as it has a few resonances in electron volt range, and it reduces energy of fast neutrons to lower energy neutrons. These neutrons will be absorbed through radiative capture and emit gamma radiations. Thus it is essential that an effective shield should contain a large amount of moderating material, hydrogen being preferred with low atomic number materials (B, C, Li) and lead (Pb) to ensure that the neutrons do not diffuse at intermediate energies in the shield as well as gamma attenuation will also take place. In order to have a suitable shield material for armoured vehicles which serves as neutron and gamma radiation attenuator, polyethylene polymer with fillers lining materials are preferred. These materials were evaluated against gamma and fast neutrons using radioactive sources for suitability to fitment into combat vehicle as per the requirement of protection factor values. The detector for gamma radiation was used as Nal(Tl) while for neutron, CR-39 film was used.   相似文献
