This study evaluated possible actions that can help protect against and reduce radiation exposure by measuring the exposure dose for each type of isotope that is used frequently in nuclear medicine before performing numerical analysis of the effective half-life based on the measurement results. From July to August in 2010, the study targeted 10, 6 and 5 people who underwent an 18F-FDG (fludeoxyglucose) positron emission tomography (PET) scan, 99mTc-HDP bone scan, and 201Tl myocardial single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scan, respectively, in the nuclear medicine department. After injecting the required medicine into the subjects, a survey meter was used to measure the dose depending on the distance from the heart and time elapsed. For the 18F-FDG PET scan, the dose decreased by approximately 66% at 90 min compared to that immediately after the injection and by 78% at a distance of 1 m compared to that at 0.3 m. In the 99mTc-HDP bone scan, the dose decreased by approximately 71% in 200 min compared to that immediately after the injection and by approximately 78% at a distance of 1 m compared to that at 0.3 m. In the 201Tl myocardial SPECT scan, the dose decreased by approximately 30% in 250 min compared to that immediately after the injection and by approximately 55% at a distance of 1 m compared to that at 0.3 m. In conclusion, the dose decreases by a large margin depending on the distance and time. In conclusion, this study measured the exposure doses by isotopes, distance from the heart and exposure time, and found that the doses were reduced significantly according the distance and the time.  相似文献

Diffusion-weighted whole-body imaging with background body signal suppression (DWIBS) is a relatively new diffusion-based pulse sequence that produces positron emission tomography (PET) with 2-[fluorine-18]-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose (18F-FDG)-like images. We tested the feasibility of DWIBS in detecting peritoneal ovarian cancer in a syngeneic mouse model. Female C57BL/6 mice were injected intraperitoneally with ID8 murine ovarian carcinoma cells. After 11 weeks, the abdomen was imaged by DWIBS. A respiratory gating diffusion-weighted spin-echo echo-planar imaging in abdomen was used (imaging parameters of field of view of 47×47 mm2, matrix size of 64×64 zero-filled to 256×256 and b-value of 1500 s/mm2). We also performed FDG microPET as the reference standard. For comparison of the correlating surface areas of tumor foci on both DWIBS and FDG microPET imaging, two-dimensional region-of-interest (ROI) analysis was performed, and correlation between the two modalities was determined. Mice were also subjected to macroscopic examination for tumor location and pathology after imaging. DWIBS in all mice depicted the tumors as abnormal high signal intensity. The results show that the ROI analysis of correlating lesions reveals relatively high correlation (r²=0.7296) and significant difference (P = .021) between DWIBS and FDG microPET. These results demonstrate that DWIBS has the potential for detecting peritoneal dissemination of ovarian cancer. Nonetheless, due to low ratios of image signal-to-noise and motion artifacts, DWIBS can be limited for lesions near the liver.  相似文献

Purpose

To investigate the alterations in water–fat (W-F) ratio of the normal breast tissue of female volunteers as a function of the histological phases of the menstrual cycle.

Methods

Image-guided volume localized in vivo proton (1H) magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) at 1.5 T was carried out in the para-areolar region and the upper and lower quadrants of the normal breast tissue of volunteers (n=29; mean age 33.7±6 years) during five histological phases of the menstrual cycle.

Results

A W-F value of 0.90±0.41 was observed for the para-areolar region during the proliferative phase, which reduced to 0.46±0.21 and 0.45±0.25 during follicular and luteal phases, respectively. The value increased to 0.76±0.61 during secretory and to 0.87±0.37 during menstrual phases. No significant difference was observed in the W-F value for the upper and the lower quadrants of the breast during various phases of the menstrual cycle. However, the W-F ratio of the para-areolar region was significantly higher compared to the upper and the lower quadrants during all phases. This reflects the dependence of W-F value on the amount of glandular and adipose tissues and the heterogeneous nature of the breast.

Conclusions

Our results indicate that changes in the normal breast tissue characteristics occur due to physiological factors like menstrual cycle that strongly influences the W-F value especially the para-areolar region in a cyclic manner. Thus any assessment of breast pathology using W-F values should be carried out carefully taking into consideration the location of the tumor within the breast as well as the time of menstruation.  相似文献

In preparation for PET imaging of ischemic myocardial regions, the uptake of 218F-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose (FDG) in the isolated perfused rat heart was studied under normoxic and hypoxic conditions. With this model we were able to demonstrate an about 2.5 fold higher uptake of FDG in hypoxia compared with the normoxic heart. FDG uptake is considered as a measure for glucose utilization; hence the higher uptake in hypoxia points to an increased glucose metabolism. This was to be expected because in hypoxia the main energy source of the normal well-oxygenated myocardium, the free fatty acids, cannot be oxidized, and the myocardium is forced to utilize glucose via the glycolytic pathway.  相似文献

The [13C]methacetin breath test ([13C]MBT) – a valuable non-invasive tool dedicated to the assessment of the liver metabolic capacity – still needs standardisation. The aim of this study was to check whether currently used dosage regimens of [13C]methacetin provide concordant [13C]MBT results in subjects with an atypical body constitution. Healthy volunteers: low body mass<55 kg (eight women), and high body mass>95 kg (eight large body frame men) were recruited. They underwent [13C]MBT on separate days, taking in random order [13C]methacetin: a fixed 75 mg dose (FX75), or a 1 mg kg?1 body mass-adjusted dose (BMAD). Samples of expiratory air for 13CO2 measurement were collected over 3 h. The maximum momentary 13C elimination in breath air occurred earlier and was higher following BMAD than with FX75 in the low body mass females (T max 14.6±1.0 min vs. 22.1±2.4 min, p=0.019; D max 41.9±2.9 % dose h?1 vs. 36.6±3.6 % dose h?1, p=0.071). In the high body mass men, T max remained unchanged, whereas D max was slightly higher with BMAD compared to FX75 (21.5±3.2 min vs. 23.0±3.0 min; 38.5±2.9 % dose h?1 vs. 32.3±2.5 % dose h?1). It is concluded that in subjects with a body constitution outside the general population average, the dosage of the substrate may affect some results of the [13C]MBT. The dosage-related differences appear, however, to be insignificant if the result of the [13C]MBT is reported as a cumulative 13C recovery in breath air.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the hepatic microsomal and mitochondrial functions by using the 13CO2-breath test in healthy subjects either before or after the consumption of red wine. Fourteen adults received [13C]methacetin and [methyl-13C]methionine together with a standardised dinner. Expired air samples were taken over 6 h. After a wash-out period, the subjects consumed 0.4 ml ethanol/kg/day together with dinner over a 10-day period. Thereafter, 13C-tracer administration was repeated under identical conditions. The 13CO2-enrichments were measured by isotope ratio mass spectrometry. The mean cumulative percentage 13C-dose recovery (CPDR) after administration of [13C]methacetin and [methyl-13C]methionine either without or with red wine consumption amounted to 38.2±6.3 vs. 36.3±6.7% (p=0.363) and 9.5±3.3 vs. 8.8±2.5% (p=0.47), respectively. Moderate alcohol consumption does not induce significant short-term changes of the microsomal and the mitochondrial functions of the human liver in healthy subjects.  相似文献

19F magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) studies of 2-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose (FDG) and 2-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose-6-phosphate (FDG-6P) can be used for directly assessing total glucose metabolism in vivo. To date, 19F MRS measurements of FDG phosphorylation in the brain have either been achieved ex vivo from extracted tissue or in vivo by unusually long acquisition times. Electrophysiological and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) measurements indicate that FDG doses up to 500 mg/kg can be tolerated with minimal side effects on cerebral physiology and evoked fMRI-BOLD responses to forepaw stimulation. In halothane-anesthetized rats, we report localized in vivo detection and separation of FDG and FDG-6P MRS signals with 19F 2D chemical shift imaging (CSI) at 11.7 T. A metabolic model based on reversible transport between plasma and brain tissue, which included a non-saturable plasma to tissue component, was used to calculate spatial distribution of FDG and FDG-6P concentrations in rat brain. In addition, spatial distribution of rate constants and metabolic fluxes of FDG to FDG-6P conversion were estimated. Mapping the rate of FDG to FDG-6P conversion by 19F CSI provides an MR methodology that could impact other in vivo applications such as characterization of tumor pathophysiology.  相似文献

Objectives

We conducted a pilot study to identify whether MRI parameters are sensitive to hormone-induced changes in the breast during the natural menstrual cycle and whether changes could also be observed during an oral contraceptive (OC) cycle.

Materials and Methods

The New York University Langone Medical Center Institutional Review Board approved this HIPAA-compliant prospective study. All participants provided written informed consent. Participants were aged 24-31 years.We measured several non-contrast breast MRI parameters during each week of a single menstrual cycle (among 9 women) and OC cycle (among 8 women). Hormones were measured to confirm ovulation and classify menstrual cycle phase among naturally cycling women and to monitor OC compliance among OC users. We investigated how the non-contrast MRI parameters of breast fibroglandular tissue (FGT), apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), magnetization transfer ratio (MTR), and transverse relaxation time (T2) varied over the natural and the OC cycles.

Results

We observed significant increases in MRI FGT% and ADC in FGT, and longer T2 in FGT in the luteal vs. follicular phase of the menstrual cycle. We did not observe any consistent pattern of change for any of the MRI parameters among women using OCs.

Conclusions

MRI is sensitive to hormone-induced breast tissue changes during the menstrual cycle. Larger studies are needed to assess whether MRI is also sensitive to the effects of exogenous hormones, such as various OC formulations, on the breast tissue of young premenopausal women.  相似文献

PurposeWe aimed to investigate whether quantitative diffusivity variables of healthy ovaries vary during the menstrual cycle and to evaluate alterations in women using oral contraceptives (OC).MethodsThis prospective study (S-339/2016) included 30 healthy female volunteers, with (n = 15) and without (n = 15) intake of OC between 07/2017 and 09/2019. Participants underwent 3T diffusion-weighted MRI (b-values 0–2000 s/mm2) three times during a menstrual cycle (T1 = day 1–5; T2 = day 7–12; T3 = day 19–24). Both ovaries were manually three-dimensionally segmented on b = 1500 s/mm2; apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) calculation and kurtosis fitting (Dapp, Kapp) were performed. Differences in ADC, Dapp and Kapp between time points and groups were compared using repeated measures ANOVA and t-test after Shapiro-Wilk and Brown-Forsythe test for normality and equal variance.ResultsIn women with a natural menstrual cycle, ADC and kurtosis variables showed significant changes in ovaries with the dominant follicle between T1 vs T2 and T1 vs T3, whilst no differences were observed between T2 vs T3: ADC ± SD for T1 1.524 ± 0.160, T2 1.737 ± 0.160, and T3 1.747 ± 0.241 μm2/ms (p = 0.01 T2 vs T1; p = 1.0 T2 vs T3, p = 0.003 T3 vs T1); Dapp ± SD for T1 2.018 ± 0.140, T2 2.272 ± 0.189, and T3 2.230 ± 0.256 μm2/ms (p = 0.003 T2 vs T1, p = 1.0 T2 vs T3, p = 0.02 T3 vs T1); Kapp ± SD for T1 0.614 ± 0.0339, T2 0.546 ± 0.0637, and T3 0.529 ± 0.0567 (p < 0.001 T2 vs T1, p = 0.86 T2 vs T3, p < 0.001 T3 vs T1). No significant differences were found in the contralateral ovaries or in females taking OC.ConclusionPhysiological cycle-dependent changes in quantitative diffusivity variables of ovaries should be considered especially when interpreting radiomics analyses in reproductive women.  相似文献

Evaluation by empirically derived equations for the Substituent effect (α, β, γ, δ) on the 13C NMR chemical shifts for C-3, C-4. C-5 and halomethyl-substituent carbon (C-6) in isoxazoles 1-5 [where C-3 substituent (R1) = H, alkyl or phenyl, C-4 Substituent (R2) = H, alkyl, and C-5 substituent (R3) = di-or trihalomethyl, methyl and H], taking as reference the compound la, is reported. From the calculated values for the α, β, γ, δ effects for each substituent it was possible to estimate the chemical shift of each carbon of the compounds 1–5. The 13 C chemical shifts of the C-3, C-4, C-5, C-6 of these compounds, can be estimated with good precision: 94% of the calculated chemical shifts are found to be within ±1.0ppm, and 100% are found to be within ±1.5ppm.  相似文献

In this study, phantom was used to evaluate attenuation correction computed tomography (CT) dose and image in case of pediatric positron emission tomography (PET)/CT scan. Three PET/CT scanners were used along with acryl phantom in the size for infant and ion-chamber dosimeter. The CT image acquisition conditions were changed from 10 to 20, 40, 80, 100 and 160 mA and from 80 to 100, 120 and 140 kVp, which aimed at evaluating penetrate dose and computed tomography dose indexvolume (CTDIvol) value. And NEMA PET Phantom? was used to obtain PET image under the same CT conditions in order to evaluate each attenuation-corrected PET image based on standard uptake value (SUV) value and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). In general, the penetrate dose was reduced by around 92% under the minimum CT conditions (80 kVp and 10 mA) with the decrease in CTDIvol value by around 88%, compared with the pediatric abdomen CT conditions (100 kVp and 100 mA). The PET image with its attenuation corrected according to each CT condition showed no change in SUV value and no influence on the SNR. In conclusion, if the minimum dose CT that is properly applied to body of pediatric patient is corrected for attenuation to ensure that the effective dose is reduced by around 90% or more compared with that for adult patient, this will be useful to reduce radiation exposure level.  相似文献

The crystal structure of [C(NH2)3]2HgBr4 has been determined at room temperature: monoclinic, space group C2/c, with a = 10.035(2), b = 11.164(2), c = 13.358(3) Å, β = 111.67(3)°, and Z = 4. The crystal consists of planar [C(NH2)3]+ and distorted tetrahedral [HgBr4]2? ions. The Hg atom is located on a two-fold axis such that two sets of inequivalent Br atoms exist in an [HgBr4]2? ion. In accordance with the crystal structure, two 81Br NQR lines widely separated in frequency were observed between 77 and ca. 380 K. [C(NH2)3]2HgI4 yielded four 127I NQR lines ascribable to m = ±1/2 ? ±3/2 transitions, indicating that its crystal structure is different from the bromide complex. The 1H NMR T 1 measurements showed a single minimum for the bromide but two minima for the iodide. The analyses based on the C3 reorientations of the planar [C(NH2)3]+ ions gave the activation energies of 29.8 kJ mol?1 for the bromide, and 30.2 and 40.0 kJ mol?1 for the iodide.  相似文献

Es wird die im DAMW bevorzugt für die Ermittlung der Zerfallsrate aktivierter Goldfolien benutzte β-γ-Koinzidenzmeßeinrichtung beschrieben. Ihr Detektorsystem besteht aus einem Plastszintillator und einem NaJ(Tl)-Kristall, die in einer Bleiabschirmung untergebracht sind. Für die beim Zerfall von 198Au frei werdenden Teilchen und Quanten können Nachweisiwahrscheinlichkeiten von εß ≈ 0,3 bzw, εγ ≈ 0,1 erreicht werden. In beiden Kanälen sind vor der Koinzidenzstufe Totzeitstufen mit einer Totzeit von 7,5 μs eingebaut. Die Koinzidenzauflösungszeit beträgt (0,943 ± 0,005) μs. Es können Zerfallsraten im Bereich 150 s?1 bis 35000 s? gemessen werden, wobei unter optimalen Bedingungen Meβunsicherheiten von etwa ±1% (198Au) bzw. ±0,5%(60Co) erreichbar sind.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to determine if age is a factor influencing the results of a [13C]methacetin breath test (13C-MBT). Two groups of healthy volunteers, each comprising six men and six women, but differing in average age (Y=young, 25.1±0.6 years, MA=middle-aged;, 46.0±2.1 years) orally took 75 mg [13C]methacetin. Samples of expiratory air for 13CO2 measurement were collected up to 48 h after intake of the substrate. A maximum momentary 13CO2 breath exhalation of 37.0±2.6%dose/h was observed at 18 min (median, range: 9–30 min) in the young subjects and of 38.4±2.5%dose/h at 18 min (median, range: 12–30 min) in the middle-age volunteers. The cumulative 13C elimination in expiratory air was statistically significantly higher in the MA compared with the Y group as from 75 min up to 180 min, indicating a greater microsomal metabolic efficiency of the liver in the middle-aged healthy subjects. Gender, use of hormonal contraception, cigarette smoking, or body mass index did not modify the age-related effect on the cumulative 13C elimination in breath air. The study results imply a necessity of composing control groups well matched with regard to the age structure for a proper interpretation of clinical 13C-MBT results.  相似文献

Abstract

Carbon and nitrogen stable isotope compositions of organic matter, TOC/TN ratio, and manganese concentration in a sediment core that was collected in northern part of Lake Baikal (VER92ST10-GC2, water depth at 922 m, about 3 m long) were investigated to elucidate the origin of the sedimentary organic matter and its associated environmental factors.

The sediment core was composed of mainly two parts: turbidite sections and other sections. Constant δ13C and δ15N values of the turbidite sections were observed (- 26.8 ±0.2 ‰ for δ13C and 3.2 ± 0.1 ‰ for δ15N) throughout the core. The higher δ13C in turbidite sections (about - 27 ‰) than that of the other sections (- 31 to - 29 ‰) was clearly observed, and δ15N was different between turbidite sections (about 3‰) and other sections (3 to 5 ‰). δ13C of other sections was close to that of pelagic phytoplankton, indicating that sediment other than turbidite sections is composed of autochthonous components. The variation of stable isotopes in other sections may be possibly caused by the changes in either phytoplankton growth rate or contribution ratios of terrestrial to aquatic plants for δ13C. Either denitrification or fluctuation of δ15N in pelagic phytoplankton can be the cause of variable δ15N in other sections.  相似文献

Die Arbeit beinhaltet Untersuchungen von Parametern, die die Bestimmung der Schilddrüsenbelastung beeinflussen. Unvermeidliche Fehler im Reproduzieren der Meβgeometrie und eine Mittelwertannahme für die Dicke des die Schilddrüse überlagernden Gewebes führen zu Fehlerbreiten bei der Bestimmung des Jod·Depots von ±40% für 125J und ±22% für 131J.

Untersuchungen an einer Gruppe beruflich strahlenexponierter Personen ergaben Gewebedicken über der Schilddrüse von 1 bis 3 cm bei einem Mittelwert von 2,3 cm und im Mittel eine um 15% geringere effective Halbwertszeit für 131J als von der ICRP für den Standardmenschen angegeben.

Der Einfluβ dieser Abweichung auf die Dosisbestimmung wird diskutiert.  相似文献

The spin polarized β-emitting nuclei12B (I π=1+,T 1/2=20.18 ms) were produced by the nuclear reaction11B(d, p)12B and by the selection technique of the incident deuteron energy and the12B recoil angle following the nuclear reaction. The nuclear magnetic moment of the short-lived nuclei12B was measured by β-NMR with the β-NMR and β-NQR setup established for the first time in China. The nuclear magnetic moment of12B was determined to be μ=0.99993±0.00048 nm org=0.99993±0.00048 after the precise correction of the Knight shift.  相似文献

The 14N NQR frequencies of selected aromatic C-nitroso compounds were measured using cross relaxation double resonance. The monomers have high 14N NQR frequencies with Χ and η values of 5700 to 6100 kHz and 0.5 ± 0.1, respectively. The dimers and polymer show lower frequencies with values of 2300 to 2600 kHz and 0.8 ± 0.05. Benzofuroxan has values typical of both the monomer and dimer.  相似文献

Evaluation by empirically derived equations for the substituent effect (α,β,γ,δ) on the 13C NMR chemical shifts for C-1, C-2, C-3 and C-4 in β-aryl-β-methoxyvinylhalomethylketones 1a-g to 2a-g [R3C(O)-CH=C(Ar)-OMe, where R3 = CCl3, CF3 and Ar = p-YC6H4 (Y = H, Me, MeO, F, Cl, Br, NO2)], taking as reference the β-ethoxyvinyltrichloromethylketone (3), is reported. From the calculated values for the α,β,γ,δ effects for each substituent it was possible to estimate the chemical shift of each carbon of the compounds 1,2. The 13C chemical shifts of the C-1, C-2, C-3, C-4 of these compounds, can be estimated with good to rasoable precision: 84% of the calculated chemical shifts are found to be within ±1.0ppm, and 100% are found to be within ±1.5ppm. The Y-Effects on C-3 and C-4 are compared with carbon charge densities (qr).  相似文献

Photoinduced electron transfer (PET) was studied in toluene solutions of the Pd-porphyrin-quinone (Pd-PQ) dyad by flash photolysis in the picosecond time range and by a luminescence method. It is found that Pd-PQ has a high rate of intercombination conversion Kisc=(7.7±0.2)·1010 sec−1. Competing intramolecular PET occurs from the lower excited singlet state of the dyad with the rate constant K et s =(2.7 ±0.3)·1010 sec−1. Therefore, ∼74% of excited molecules from the dyad make a transition to the triplet T1 state and 26% take part in intramolecular PET resulting in formation of radical products.
