Ab initio molecular orbital calculation at HF/6-31G*, HF/6-31G**, HF/6-311G**, HF/6-311++G**, RMP2-FC/6-31G*, and B3LYP/6-31G* levels of theory for geometry optimization and MP4(SDQ)/6-31G* for a single-point total energy calculation are reported for phosphinine and 13 isophosphinines 7-19 . Isomers 7-11 with an allenic system are calculated to be 8-18 kcal mol m 1 more stable than structures 12-17 with an acetylenic moiety. The calculated energy difference (66.19 kcal mol m 1 ) between phosphinine and the most stable isophosphinine (1-phospha-1,2,4-cyclohexatriene, 10 ) is smaller than the difference (78.96 kcal mol m 1 ) between benzene and the most stable isobenzene (cyclohexa-1,2,4-triene, 2 ). The isophosphinines 18 and 19 , with a butatriene moiety, are calculated to be the least stable isomers.  相似文献

The minimum energy paths for intramolecular proton transfer between the amino nitrogen and carbonyl oxygen atoms in gaseous protonated glycine were estimated at the Hartree-Fock (HF) and second-order M?ller-Plesset Perturbation (MP2) levels of theory. Potential energy profiles and their associated reactant, transition state, and product species calculated at the MP2/6-31G* level were shown to differ significantly from those obtained at the HF/6-31G* level. Effects of electron correlation and basis functions on the calculated geometries and energies of relevant species were examined at the HF, MP2, MP4, CCSD, and B3LYP levels using the 6-31G*, 6-31G**, 6-31+G**, 6-311+G**, 6-31+G(2d,2p), 6-311+G(3df,2p), cc-pVDZ, aug-cc-pVDZ, and cc-pVTZ basis sets. The HF and MP2 optimized levels with the 6-31G*, 6-31G**, 6-31+G**, and 6-311+G** bases were used to calculate the thermodynamic and kinetic properties of the proton transfer reaction at 298.15 K and 1 atm, which include enthalpy, entropy, Gibbs free energy, equilibrium constant, potential energy barriers, tunneling transmission coefficients, and rate constants. Results indicate that the proton in a carbonyl O-protonated glycine undergoes a rapid migration to the amino nitrogen atom, while the reverse process is extremely unfavorable. The objective of this work is to develop practical theoretical procedures for studying proton transfer reactions in amino acids and peptides and to assemble physical data from these model calculations for future references.  相似文献

The alkylation of 4-methoxymethyl-gamma-butyrolactone enolate with methyl chloride was studied at the B3LYP/6-31+G* level. Conformer search of the free enolate gave 15 unique conformers within 5.39 kcal/mol. The transition structures for both anti- and syn-attacks of methyl chloride on these 15 conformers were located. In all cases, the anti-transition structures are more stable than the corresponding syn-ones. The alkylation of gamma-valerolactone was studied at the MP2, B3LYP, and HF levels of theory with the 6-31+G* basis set in the presence of Li+ and dimethyl ether molecules. Basis set effects were also examined by the comparison of the MP2 results with the 6-31+G*, 6-31+G**, and 6-311+G** basis sets in one case. This study shows that the main source of the anti-selectivity of 4-substituted gamma-butyrolactones is eclipsing strain in the syn-transition structures.  相似文献

Ab initio HF/6-31+G*, MP2/6-31+G*, B3LYP/6-31+G* level calculations have been performed on HSe-NH2 to estimate the Se-N rotational barriers and N-inversion barriers. Two conformers have been found withsyn andanti arrangement of the NH2 hydrogens with respect to Se-H bond. The N inversion barriers in selenamide are 1.65, 2.47, 1.93 kcal/mol and the Se-N rotational barriers are 6.58, 6.56 and 6.12 kcal/mol respectively at HF/6-31+G*, MP2/6-31+G* and B3LYP/6-31+G* levels respectively. The nNΣ *Se-H negative hyperconjugation is found to be responsible for the higher rotational barriers.  相似文献

The molecular structure of the trans isomer of metal-free phthalocyanine (H2Pc) is determined using the gas electron diffraction (GED) method and high-level quantum chemical calculations. B3LYP calculations employing the basis sets 6-31G**, 6-311++G**, and cc-pVTZ give two tautomeric isomers for the inner H atoms, a trans isomer having D2h symmetry and a cis isomer having C2v symmetry. The trans isomer is calculated to be 41.6 (B3LYP/6-311++G**, zero-point corrected) and 37.3 kJ/mol (B3LYP/cc-pVTZ, not zero-point corrected) more stable than the cis isomer. However, Hartree-Fock (HF) calculations using different basis sets predict that cis is preferred and that trans does not exist as a stable form of the molecule. The equilibrium composition in the gas phase at 471 degrees C (the temperature of the GED experiment) calculated at the B3LYP/6-311++G** level is 99.8% trans and 0.2% cis. This is in very good agreement with the GED data, which indicate that the mole fraction of the cis isomer is close to zero. The transition states for two mechanisms of the NH tautomerization have been characterized. A concerted mechanism where the two H atoms move simultaneously yields a transition state of D2h symmetry and an energy barrier of 95.8 kJ/mol. A two-step mechanism where a trans isomer is converted to a cis isomer, which is converted into another trans isomer, proceeds via two transition states of C(s) symmetry and an energy barrier of 64.2 kJ/mol according to the B3LYP/6-311++G** calculation. The molecular geometry determined from GED is in very good agreement with the geometry obtained from the quantum chemical calculations. Vibrational frequencies, IR, and Raman intensities have been calculated using B3LYP/6-311++G**. These calculations indicate that the molecule is rather flexible with six vibrational frequencies in the range of 20-84 cm(-1) for the trans isomer. The cis isomer might be detected by infrared matrix spectroscopy since the N-H stretching frequencies are very different for the two isomers.  相似文献

Through the application of the atom–bond electronegativity equalization method (ABEEM) to the calculation of the hardnesses of more than 300 tautomers, it can be seen that the maximum hardness principle is nearly useless to account for their relative stabilities. Moreover, by calculating the energies of these tautomers with the HF, B3LYP, B3PW91, and MP2 methods at the 6‐31G, 6‐31G*, 6‐31G**, 6‐31+G**, 6‐311G**, or 6‐311++G** level, it is found that all these methods may not be always reliable in predicting their relative stabilities. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Ab initio calculations predict that D3d symmetry of Si2F6 is more stable than D3h symmetry. The calculated potential barrier to internal rotation was 0.77, 0.73 and 0.78 kcal/mol using HF/6-31G*, B3LYP/6-31G* and MP2/6-31G* methods respectively, which was in good agreement with the experimental value between 0.51±0.10 and 0.73±0.14 kcal/mol. The optimized geometries, harmonic force fields, infrared intensities, Raman activities, and vibrational frequencies are reported for D3d symmetry of Si2F6 from HF/6-31G* and B3LYP/6-31G*. A normal coordinate analysis was carried out. The average error between the scaled DFT frequencies obtained from the B3LYP/6-31G* calculation and observed frequencies was 4.2 cm−1 and the average error between the scaled HF and observed frequencies was 2.2 cm−1.  相似文献

The structures, energetics, spectroscopies, and isomerization of various doublet Si2CP species are explored theoretically. In contrast to the previously studied SiC2N and SiC2P radicals that have linear SiCCN and SiCCP ground states, the title Si2CP radical has a four-membered-ring form cSiSiPC 1 (0.0 kcal/mol) with Si-C cross-bonding as the ground-state isomer at the CCSD(T)/6-311G(2df)//B3LYP/6-311G(d)+ZPVE level, similar to the Si2CN radical. The second low-lying isomer 2 at 11.6 kcal/mol has a SiCSiP four-membered ring with C-P cross-bonding, yet it is kinetically quite unstable toward conversion to 1 with a barrier of 3.5 kcal/mol. In addition, three cyclic species with divalent carbene character, i.e., cSiSiCP 7, 7' with C-P cross-bonding and cSiCSiP 8 with Si-Si cross-bonding, are found to possess considerable kinetic stability, although they are energetically high lying at 44.4, 46.5, and 41.4 kcal/mol, respectively. Moreover, a linear isomer SiCSiP 5 at 44.3 kcal/mol also has considerable kinetic stability and predominantly features the interesting cumulenic /Si=C=Si=P/* form with a slight contribution from the silicon-phosphorus triply bonded form /Si=C*-Si[triple bond]P/. The silicon-carbon triply bonded form *Si[triple bond]C-Si[triple bond]P/ has negligible contribution. All five isomers are expected to be observable in low-temperature environments. Their bonding nature and possible formation strategies are discussed. For relevant species, the QCISD/6-311G(d) and CCSD(T)/6-311+G(2df) (single-point) calculations are performed to provide more reliable results. The calculated results are compared to those of the analogous C3N, C3P, SiC2N, and Si2CN radicals with 17 valence electrons. Implications in interstellar space and P-doped SiC vaporization processes are also discussed.  相似文献

Maleimide serves as an important starting material in the synthesis of drugs and enzyme inhibitors. In the present paper, knowing the importance of tautomerization in maleimide for its drug action, potential energy surface of maleimide is studied and its tautomerization has been discussed and compared with tautomerization of formamide. Gas phase tautomerization of maleimide requires large amount of energy (23·21 kcal/mol) in comparison to formamide (15·05 kcal/mol) at HF/6-31+G* level. Thus making the proton transfer reaction a difficult process in gas phase. Water molecule lowers the energy barrier of tautomerization thus facilitating the tautomerization of maleimide to 5-hydroxy-pyrrol-2-one. Water assisted tautomerization of maleimide requires 19·60 kcal/mol energy at HF/6-31+G* and 17·63 kcal/mol energy at B3LYP/6-31+G* level, a decrease of 3·61 and 5·96 kcal/mol over gas phase tautomerization. Whereas, tautomerization of formamide requires 14·16 and 12·84 kcal/mol energy, a decrease of 0·89 and 2·01 kcal/mol energy over gas phase tautomerization at HF/6-31+G* and B3LYP/6-31+G* level, respectively. Water-assisted tautomerization in maleimide and formamide showed that difference in energy barrier reduces to 2·83 kcal/mol from 10·41 kcal/mol (in gas phase) at B3LYP level, which resulted that maleimide readily undergoes tautomerization in water molecule.  相似文献

Ab initio calculations have been performed on methane sulfonamide anion. Geometries have been optimized using Hartree-Fock basis sets up to 6-31+G*, and single-point calculations employing those Hartree-Fock geometries have been performed at levels up to MP2/6-311++G**. In addition, geometry optimizations for the 0°, 90°, 150°, and 180° conformers have been carried out at the MP2/6-31G*, MP2/6-31+G*, and MP2/6-311++G** levels. Vibrational frequencies have been calculated using the HF/4-31G*, MP2/6-31G*, and MP2/6-31+G* geometries. All calculations at or above the 4-31G* level agree that H—N—S—C ˜90° is the global minimum. The H—N—S—C = 180° conformer is clearly higher in energy although the relative energy of this conformer varies from 0.36 to 1.03 kcal/mol for the post-HF calculations depending on basis set. The H—N—S—C = 180° conformer appears to be a very shallow local minimum. However, the potential energy surface is quite flat in this region, and the highest-level calculations, including MP2 optimizations and vibrational frequency analysis, are ambiguous on this point. The conformer with an H—N—S—C torsion of 0° is a transition state with a relative energy ˜8 kcal/mol. Received: 3 December 1996 / Accepted: 2 January 1997  相似文献

The structures and relative stabilities of furoxan and some of its isomers, e.g., the 1,2-dinitrosoethylenes, have been determined by means of ab initio Hartee–Fock and Møller–Plesset calculations. Geometries were optimized at the HF/3-21G, HF/6-31G* and MP2/6-31G* levels, and subsequently used for computing MP2/6-31G*, MP3/6-31G*, and MP4/6-31G* energies. The results are markedly affected by the inclusion of electronic correlation, which renders three of the isomers unstable. It also emphasizes the importance of a zwitterionic contribution to the structure of furoxan, which promotes ring-opening through a cis 1,2-dinitrosoethylene intermediate/transition state that has an MP4/6-31G*//MP2/6-31G* energy that is 31.6 kcal/mol above furoxan.  相似文献

A conformational search was performed for the 12-crown-4 (12c4)-alkali metal cation complexes using two different methods, one of them is the CONFLEX method, whereby eight conformations were predicted. Computations were performed for the eight predicted conformations at the HF/6-31+G*, MP2/6-31+G*//HF/6-31+G*, B3LYP/6-31+G*, MP2/6-31+G*//B3LYP/6-31+G*, and MP2/6-31+G* levels. The calculated energies predict a C4 conformation for the 12c4-Na+, -K+, -Rb+, and -Cs+ complexes and a C(s) conformation for the 12c4-Li+ complex to be the lowest energy conformations. For most of the conformations considered, the relative energies, with respect to the C4 conformation, at the MP2/6-31+G*//B3LYP/6-31+G* are overestimated, compared to those at the MP2/6-31+G* level, the highest level of theory considerd in this report, by 0.2 kcal/mol. Larger relative energy differences are attributed to larger differences between the B3LYP and MP2 optimized geomtries. Binding enthalpies (BEs) were calculated at the above-mentioned levels for the eight conformations. The agreement between the calculated and experimental BEs is discussed.  相似文献

The IR (gas) and Raman (liquid) spectra of FC(O)NSCl(2) demonstrate the presence of a conformational mixture in both phases. According to a gas electron diffraction study, the main conformer (94(8)%) possesses a syn-syn structure (C(O)F group synperiplanar with respect to the SCl(2) bisector and the C=O bond synperiplanar to the N=S bond). Quantum chemical calculations (HF, B3LYP and MP2 with 6-31G basis set, and MP2/6-311(2df)) predict a syn-anti structure for the second conformer. Analysis of the IR (gas) spectrum results in a contribution of 5(1)% of the minor form, corresponding to a Gibbs free energy difference DeltaG degrees = G degrees (syn-anti) - G degrees (syn-syn) = 1.75(15) kcal/mol. This value is reproduced very well by quantum chemical calculations, which include electron correlation effects (DeltaG degrees = 1.28-1.56 kcal/mol). The HF approximation overestimates this energy difference (DeltaG degrees = 3.24 kcal/mol).  相似文献

The molecular structures and conformational properties of acetyl peroxynitrate (PAN, CH3C(O)OONO2) and trifluoroacetyl peroxynitrate (FPAN, CF3C(O)OONO2) were investigated in the gas phase by electron diffraction (GED), microwave spectroscopy (MW), and quantum chemical methods (HF/3-21G, HF/6-31G*, MP2/6-31G*, B3PW91/6-31G*, and B3PW91/6-311+G*). All experimental and theoretical methods show the syn conformer (C=O bond of acetyl group syn to O-O bond) to be strongly predominant relative to the anti conformer. The O-NO2 bonds are extremely long, 1.492(7) A in PAN and 1.526(10) A in FPAN, which correlates with their low bond energy and the easy formation of CX3C(O)OO* and *NO2 radicals in the atmosphere. The O-O bonds (1.418(12) A in PAN and 1.408(8) A in FPAN) are shorter than that in hydrogen peroxide (1.464 A). In both compounds the C-O-O-N dihedral angle is close to 85 degrees.  相似文献

The transition structures associated with the possible intramolecular tautomerization for acetaldehyde/vinyl alcohol and acetaldimine/vinylamine systems as models of keto/enol and imine/enamine interconversion processes, respectively, were characterized. The relative stabilities of the tautomers and the associated barrier heights were calculated. Ab initio analytical gradients and second derivatives at the HF level of theory and 3-21G, 6-31G, 6-31G**, 6-31++G**, and 6-311++G** basis-set, DFT (BP86/6-311++G** and BLYP/6-311++G**), and semiempirical (AM1 and PM3) procedures were used to identify the stationary points. Correlation effects were estimated using the perturbational approach at MP2/6-31G**, MP2/6-311++G**, and MP2/6-311++G (3df,2p) levels. The geometry, electronic structure, harmonic vibrational frequencies, and transition vector associated with the transition structures as well as the relative stabilities of different isomers and barrier heights were analyzed. The dependence of these properties upon theoretical methods is analyzed and discussed. The transition structures are four-membered rings and the corresponding transition vectors are associated to collective fluctuations. The 1,3 intramolecular hydrogen migration is much more advanced than are the hybridization changes on donor and acceptor centers at the transition structure. The corresponding barrier heights can be related to the change of bond orders and acid/base properties of these centers. A comparison of the results obtained with different methods renders that the nature of the transition structure seems to be a rather robust entity. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Hartree-Fock (HF) calculations using 6-31G*, 6-311++G(d,p), aug-cc-pVDZ, and aug-cc-pVTZ basis sets show that hydrogen peroxide molecular clusters tend to form hydrogen-bonded cyclic and cage structures along the lines expected of a molecule which can act as a proton donor as well as an acceptor. These results are reiterated by density functional theoretic (DFT) calculations with B3LYP parametrization and also by second-order M?ller-Plesset perturbation (MP2) theory using 6-31G* and 6-311++G(d,p) basis sets. Trends in stabilization energies and geometrical parameters obtained at the HF level using 6-311++G(d,p), aug-cc-pVDZ, and aug-cc-pVTZ basis sets are similar to those obtained from HF/6-31G* calculation. In addition, the HF calculations suggest the formation of stable helical structures for larger clusters, provided the neighbors form an open book structure.  相似文献

Ab initio calculations have been carried out to study the structures and relative stabilities of the planar eight‐membered ring B4N4H4 and its isoelectronic species C8H4 at the HF/6‐31G*, MP2/6‐31G*, MP2/6‐311G**, and MP4SDQ/6‐31G* levels. The analyses of Milliken population, vibration frequencies, π‐molecular orbital components, and orbital energy levels were used to evaluate the relative stabilities of these two similar systems. The homodesmotic reactions were also taken to be a useful index of relative stability for X4Y4H4 (XY=CC, BN) and gave the resonance energies with MP4SDQ/6‐31G* of C8H4 (?37.2 kcal/mol) < B4N4H4 (?29.2 kcal/mol). Furthermore, we calculated the thermodynamic functions of these reactions to discuss the influence of temperature. It is concluded that B4N4H4 may exist in theory and could be a little more stable than C8H4. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Int J Quant Chem 82: 293–298, 2001  相似文献

The conformational potential energy surface as a function of the two internal torsion angles in C-nitrosomethanol has been obtained using the semiempirical AM1 method. Optimized geometries are reported for the local minima on this surface and also for the corresponding points on the HF/6-31G, 6-31G*, and 6-31G** surfaces. All methods predict cis and trans minima which occur in degenerate pairs, each pair being connected by a transition state of Cs symmetry. The AM1 structures are found to compare well with the corresponding ab initio structures. Ab initio HF/6-31G and HF/6-31G* harmonic vibrational frequencies are reported for the cis and trans forms of nitrosomethanol. When scaled appropriately the calculated frequencies are found to compare well with experimental frequencies. The ab initio calculations predict the energy barrier for cis → trans isomerization to be between 5.8 and 6.5 kcal/mol with the trans → cis isomerization barrier lying between 2.3 and 6.5 kcal/mol. The corresponding AM1 energy barriers are around 1 kcal/mol lower in energy. The ab initio calculations predict the barrier to conversion between the two cis rotamers to be very small with the AM1 value being around 1 kcal/mol. Both AM1 and ab initio calculations predict interconversion between trans rotamers to require between 1.2 and 1.4 kcal/mol.  相似文献
