In this study, we use inexact Newton-like methods to find solutions of nonlinear operator equations on Banach spaces with a convergence structure. Our technique involves the introduction of a generalized norm as an operator from a linear space into a partially ordered Banach space. In this way the metric properties of the examined problem can be analyzed more precisely. Moreover, this approach allows us to derive from the same theorem, on the one hand, semi-local results of Kantorovich-type, and on the other hand, global results based on monotonicity considerations. By imposing very general Lipschitz-like conditions on the operators involved, on the one hand, we cover a wider range of problems, and on the other hand, by choosing our operators appropriately we can find sharper error bounds on the distances involved than before. Furthermore, we show that special cases of our results reduce to the corresponding ones already in the literature. Finally, our results are used to solve integral equations that cannot be solved with existing methods.  相似文献

There are several methods for solving operator equations in a Banach space. The successive approximation methods require the spectral radius of the iterative operator be less that 1 for convergence. In this paper, we try to use the incomplete semiiterative methods to solve a linear operator equation in Banach space. Usually the special semiiterative methods are convergent even when the spectral radius of the iterative operator of an operator of an operator equation is greater than 1.  相似文献

We provide semilocal convergence theorems for Newton-like methods in Banach space using outer and generalized inverses. In contrast to earlier results we use hypotheses on the second instead of the first Fréchet-derivative. This way our Newton-Kantorovich hypotheses differ from earlier ones. Our results can be used to solve undetermined systems, nonlinear least square problems and ill-posed nonlinear operator equations.  相似文献

We provide local convergence theorems for Newton's method in Banach space using outer or generalized inverses. In contrast to earlier results we use hypotheses on the second instead of the first Fréchet-derivative. This way our convergence balls differ from earlier ones. In fact we show that with a simple numerical example that our convergence ball contains earlier ones. This way we have a wider choice of initial guesses than before. Our results can be used to solve undetermined systems, nonlinear least squares problems and ill-posed nonlinear operator equations.  相似文献

Let A be an operator from a real Banach space into a real Hilbert space. In this paper we study least squares regularization methods for the ill-posed operator equation A(u) = f using nonlinear nondifferentiable penalty functionals. We introduce a notion of distributional approximation, and use constructs of distributional approximations to establish convergence and stability of approximations of bounded variation solutions of the operator equation. We also show that the results provide a framework for a rigorous analysis of numerical methods based on Euler-Lagrange equations to solve the minimization problem. This justifies many of the numerical implementation schemes of bounded variation minimization that have been recently proposed.  相似文献

Chebysheff-Halley methods are probably the best known cubically convergent iterative procedures for solving nonlinear equations. These methods however require an evaluation of the second Fréchet-derivative at each step which means a number of function evaluations proportional to the cube of the dimension of the space. To reduce the computational cost we replace the second Fréchet derivative with a fixed bounded bilinear operator. Using the majorant method and Newton-Kantorovich type hypotheses we provide sufficient conditions for the convergence of our method to a locally unique solution of a nonlinear equation in Banach space. Our method is shown to be faster than Newton’s method under the same computational cost. Finally we apply our results to solve nonlinear integral equations appearing in radiative transfer in connection with the problem of determination of the angular distribution of the radiant-flux emerging from a plane radiation field.  相似文献

For a family of operator equations of the first kind with nonlinear nonmonotone hemicontinuous operators in a reflexive Banach space, we prove a theorem on the solvability and a uniform estimate of the solution in the norm of the space. Our approach is related to the method of semimonotone operators but has some essential differences from the latter. In a specific example, we show that our theorem can be used to prove the total (with respect to the set of admissible controls) preservation of solvability for distributed control systems.  相似文献

We study optimization problems in the presence of connection in the form of operator equations defined in Banach spaces. We prove necessary conditions for optimality of first and second order, for example generalizing the Pontryagin maximal principle for these problems. It is not our purpose to state the most general necessary optimality conditions or to compile a list of all necessary conditions that characterize optimal control in any particular minimization problem. In the present article we describe schemes for obtaining necessary conditions for optimality on solutions of general operator equations defined in Banach spaces, and the scheme discussed here does not require that there be no global functional constraints on the controlling parameters. As an example, in a particular Banach space we prove an optimality condition using the Pontryagin-McShane variation. Bibliography: 20 titles. We provide a semilocal Ptak–Kantorovich-type analysis for inexact Newton-like methods using outer and generalized inverses to approximate a locally unique solution of an equation in a Banach space containing a nondifferentiable term. We use Banach-type lemmas and perturbation bounds for outer as well as generalized inverses to achieve our goal. In particular we determine a domain such that starting from any point of our method converges to a solution of the equation. Our results can be used to solve undetermined systems, nonlinear least-squares problems, and ill-posed nonlinear operator equations in Banach spaces. Finally, we provide two examples to show that our results compare favorably with earlier ones.  相似文献

The midpoint method is an iterative method for the solution of nonlinear equations in a Banach space. Convergence results for this method have been studied in [3, 4, 9, 12]. Here we show how to improve and extend these results. In particular, we use hypotheses on the second Fréchet derivative of the nonlinear operator instead of the third-derivative hypotheses employed in the previous results and we obtain Banach space versions of some results that were derived in [9, 12] only in the real or complex space. We also provide various examples that validate our results.   相似文献

In this paper, we consider the non-autonomous semilinear impulsive differential equations with state-dependent delay. The approximate controllability results of the first-order systems are obtained in a separable reflexive Banach space, which has a uniformly convex dual. In order to establish sufficient conditions of the approximate controllability of such a system, we have used the theory of linear evolution systems, properties of the resolvent operator and Schauder’s fixed point theorem. Finally, we provide two concrete examples to validate our results.  相似文献

In this article we present a fixed-point theorem of operator equations defined in cones of Banach spaces, where the spectral radius of the operator is involved. The operator is an S-type operator, a meaning introduced here. As an application of our main theorem, we get the existence of positive solutions to two boundary-value problems, extending several results from the literature.  相似文献

In this paper, we study an operator generated by a finite family of generalized nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space. We first prove that the set of fixed points of this operator is identical to the set of all common fixed points of the mappings. Next, using this operator, we construct an iterative sequence to approximate a common fixed point of the family of generalized nonexpansive mappings. We finally apply our results to solve the feasibility problem in Banach spaces.  相似文献

We show that if the conclusion of the well known Stampacchia Theorem on variational inequalities holds on a real Banach space X, then X is isomorphic to a Hilbert space. Motivated by this, we obtain a relevant result concerning self-dual Banach spaces and investigate some connections between properties of orthogonality relations, self-duality and Hilbert space structure. Moreover, we revisit the notion of the cosine of a linear operator and show that it can be used to characterize real Banach spaces that are isomorphic to a Hilbert space. Finally, we present some consequences of our results to quadratic forms and to evolution triples.
