Composition and antioxidant activity of Senecio nudicaulis Wall. ex DC. (Asteraceae): a medicinal plant growing wild in Himachal Pradesh,India

The composition of essential oil isolated from Senecio nudicaulis Wall. ex DC. growing wild in Himachal Pradesh, India, was analysed, for the first time, by capillary gas chromatography (GC) and GC–mass spectrometry. A total of 30 components representing 95.3% of the total oil were identified. The essential oil was characterised by a high content of oxygenated sesquiterpenes (54.97%) with caryophyllene oxide (24.99%) as the major component. Other significant constituents were humulene epoxide-II (21.25%), α-humulene (18.75%), β-caryophyllene (9.67%), epi-α-cadinol (2.90%), epi-α-muurolol (2.03%), β-cedrene (1.76%), longiborneol (1.76%), 1-tridecene (1.16%) and citronellol (1.13%). The oil was screened for antioxidant activity using DPPH, ABTS and nitric oxide-scavenging assay. The oil was found to exhibit significant antioxidant activity by scavenging DPPH, ABTS and nitric oxide radicals with IC₅₀ values of 10.61 ± 0.14 μg mL^? 1, 11.85 ± 0.28 μg mL^? 1 and 11.29 ± 0.42 μg mL^? 1, respectively.     

Reaction of sulfur halides with unsaturated compounds

Conclusions Oxidation of 2,9-dichloro-13-thiabicyclo[8.2.1]cis-5-tridecene with tert-amyl hydroperoxide leads to the respective exo-sulfoxide and also to a derivative of 13-thiabicyclo[7.3.1]cis-5-tridecene, which is a product from rearrangement with enlargement of the thiacyclopentane ring to a thiacyclohexane ring.See [1] for Communication 11.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 2, pp. 384–389, February, 1976.     

Rate constants for the gas-phase reactions of OH radicals with E-7-tetradecene, 2-methyl-1-tridecene and the C(7)-C(14) 1-alkenes at 295 +/- 1 K

Rate constants for the gas-phase reactions of OH radicals with the C(7)-C(14) 1-alkenes and with E-7-tetradecene and 2-methyl-1-tridecene have been measured at 295 +/- 1 K and atmospheric pressure of air using a relative rate technique. The rate constants obtained (in units of 10(-11) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1)) were: 1-heptene, 3.86 +/- 0.12; 1-octene, 4.14 +/- 0.08; 1-nonene, 4.32 +/- 0.05; 1-decene, 4.61 +/- 0.14; 1-undecene, 4.79 +/- 0.11; 1-dodecene, 5.03 +/- 0.13; 1-tridecene, 5.09 +/- 0.17; 1-tetradecene, 4.96 +/- 0.28; E-7-tetradecene, 7.47 +/- 0.53; and 2-methyl-1-tridecene, 8.69 +/- 0.27, where the indicated errors are two least-squares standard deviations and do not include the uncertainty associated with the rate constant for the reference compound alpha-pinene. While our rate constants for 1-octene and 1-nonene agree with those at 298 K recently measured using an absolute rate method, our rate constants for 1-decene and 1-undecene are lower by factors of 1.5 and 2.6, respectively. Combined with previous rate constants from this laboratory for the C(4)-C(7) 1-alkenes, our data show that the rate constants for the reactions of OH radicals with 1-alkenes increase linearly with increasing carbon number, with the increase per additional CH(2) group being a factor of approximately 1.4-1.5 higher than that observed in the n-alkane series. The rate constants measured for E-7-tetradecene and 2-methyl-1-tridecene suggest that the increase in rate constant per additional CH(2) group ranges from being similar to that in the n-alkanes series to being a factor of approximately 2 higher.     

长梗千里光呋喃雅槛兰型倍半萜的结构研究

我们曾从甘肃省漳县采集的长梗千里光全草中分离并鉴定出两个呋喃雅槛兰型倍半萜. 在此基础上, 本文对其脂溶性化学成分进行深入研究, 除了发现倍半萜外, 又分离并鉴定出2个呋喃雅槛兰型倍半萜. 通过IR， UV， MS， CD和NMR等数据分析, 确定了4个化合物的结构, 其中, 化合物3首次在长梗千里光中分离得到, 化合物4是一种新化合物, 通过圆二光谱及核磁共振和NOE差谱研究其立体化学结构, 并按Dreiding models构筑该化合物分子的立体化学结构, 确定该化合物为Non-steroid型构象.     

Stereoselective synthesis of (2R,3S,4S)-3-hydroxy-4-methyl-2-tetradecyl-4-butanolide starting from 2,5-anhydro-d-mannitol

A novel approach to natural β-hydroxy-γ-lactone 2 from 2,5-anhydro-d-mannitol (1) is described. The key reactions in this synthesis include stereoselective methylation of aldehyde 3 with lithium dimethylcuprate, an intramolecular radical cyclization of seleno carbonate 11 and an intermolecular cross-metathesis of 3-allyl-4-hydroxy-γ-lactone 16 with 1-tridecene.     

Enantiomeric Sesquiterpene Lactones from Senecio tsoongianus

From Senecio tsoongianus,two pairs of enantiomeric isomers,tsoongianolides A(1) and B(2),tsoongianolides C (3) and D(4) were isolated. Their structures were elucidated by 1D and 2D-NMR techniques and X-ray diffractions. The cytotoxicity to KB cell of 1 and 2 is also reported.     

沙枣花净油化学成份的研究

用GC-MS-DS技术对沙枣花净油的化学成份进行了研究。其主要成份为反式肉桂酸乙酯。其它成份有:3-甲基己醛、苯甲醛、壬醛、苯甲酸乙酯、癸醛、苯乙酸乙酯、7-甲基十三烯-6、顺式肉桂酸乙酯、肉桂酸甲酯、肉桂酸异丙酯、正十七烷、苯乙烯基异丙基酮、6,10,14-三甲基十五酮-2、棕榈酸乙酯、棕榈酸、正二十一烷、油酸乙酯、硬酯酸乙酯、正二十八烷和花生油酸乙酯。     

Alkaloids of Senecio Taiwanensis Hayata and Senecio Morrisonensis Hayata

Two alkaloids, rosmarinine (I) from Senecio taiwanensis Hayata and integerrimine(II) from Senecio morrisonensis Hayata, were isolated and identified respectively.     

Senecicannabine,a new pyrrolizidine alkaloid from senecio cannabifolius

The structure of senecicannabine($\text{1}$), a new mcrocyclic pyrrolizidine alkaloid isolated from $\text{Senecio cannabifolius}$, has been established by chemical study and X-ray analysis.     

GC/MS analysis of the essential oil of Senecio belgaumensis flowers

The essential oil composition of the flowers of Senecio belgaumensis (Wight) Cl. was analyzed by gas chromatography and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Forty eight compounds were identified, representing 91.5% of the total oil. The main constituents were 1-undecanol (19.5%), beta-caryophyllene (18.9%), caryophyllene oxide (10.4%) and y-terpinene (9.2%).     

柱层析分离-原子吸收法测定麻叶千里光有机态和无机态中微量元素硒

通过柱层析分离,首先采用氯仿分离麻叶千里光有机态和无机态;然后选择正己烷等3种不同极性溶剂作洗脱剂,以硅胶柱进行洗脱;最后用石墨炉原子吸收分光光度计测定了麻叶千里光各洗脱液中硒的含量。结果表明,麻叶千里光有机态和无机态经过正己烷、乙酸乙酯、甲醇3种不同极性溶剂洗脱,测得硒元素含量存在显著差异,其中有机态洗脱后,硒元素含量分别为:正己烷5.142μg/g,乙酸乙酯3.329μg/g,甲醇2.011μg/g;而无机态洗脱后,测得硒元素含量分别为:正己烷1.956μg/g,乙酸乙酯2.505μg/g,甲醇4.109μg/g;RSD(%)分别为:有机态-正己烷0.66,有机态-乙酸乙酯1.04,有机态-甲醇0.38,无机态-正己烷0.42,无机态-乙酸乙酯0.80,无机态-甲醇0.58;加标回收率分别为:98.79%,99.76%,91.42%,82.99%,102.2%,94.50%。     

Two new pyrrolizidine alkaloids from Senecio nemorensis

Two new compounds, including petasinoside A and chloridate-[N-chloromethyl-hectorine], were isolated from Senecio nemorensis. The structures of these compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including 1D and 2D NMR experiments.     

A new pyrrolizidine alkaloid N-oxide and the revised structure of sceleratine

Sceleratine [1] and its N-oxide [2] have been isolated from Senecio latifolius DC and their structures determined by spectroscopic and chemical methods and X-ray crystallography.     

Determination of pyrrolizidine alkaloids in Senecio inaequidens D.C. by capillary gas chromatography

A study of the toxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids contained in Senecio inaequidens D.C., an infestant species of the Senecio genus, widespread in the North East of Italy, is reported. Five of these compounds, senecivernine, senecionine, integerrimine, retrorsine and an analogue of retrorsine, were identified by means of capillary gas chromatography and capillary gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.     

Bioactive eremophilanolides from Senecio poepigii

A new bioactive eremophilanolide, 1alpha-tigloyloxy-8betaH,10betaH-eremophil-7(11)-en-8alpha,12-olide, was isolated from Senecio poepigii and its structure was elucidated by spectral analysis. 1alpha-Angeloyloxy-8beta-methoxy-10betaH-eremophil-7(11)-en-8alpha,12-olide was also isolated. Antifungal and insect antifeedant properties were evaluated.     

A New Eremophilanoid Sesquiterpene from Senecio oldhamianus

A new Eremophilanoid sesquiterpene(1) was isolated from the whole plant of Senecio oldhaminus. Its structure was elucidated as 7β,11-epoxy-9α,10α-epoxy-8-oxoeremophilane using spectroscopic methords and X-ray analysis.     

千里光中几种黄酮和酚酸类成分的分离与鉴定

对千里光(Senecio scandens Buch.-Ham.)全草的乙酸乙酯提取部位进一步分离,得到4个黄酮类化合物和2个酚酸类化合物,经理化性质和NMR及MS谱学数据鉴定分别为槲皮素3-O-β-D-葡萄糖苷（Ⅰ）、金丝桃苷（Ⅱ）、槲皮素（Ⅴ）、异鼠李素（Ⅵ）、绿原酸（Ⅲ）和咖啡酸（Ⅳ）。 其中化合物Ⅰ~Ⅵ均为首次从千里光属植物中分离鉴定。     

The electrochemical extraction of alkaloids of the pyrrolizidine series from plant raw material. I

Summary 1. Alkaloids of the pyrrolizidine series (platyphylline and seneciphylline) have been isolated by an electrochemical method from the herbSenecio platyphylloides. The amount of alkaloids extracted into the catholyte depends on the current strength and the time of electrodialysis.2. Monoterpene and tetrahydronaphthene derivatives from Senecio argunensis

Two new compounds,senarguines A and B,were isolated from Senecio argunensis.They were respectively identified as (Z)-3-ethylidene-9-hydroxyl-9-methyl-6,7-dioxaspiro [4.4]nonane-5,8--dione (1) and 3,6,6-trimethyl 6,7,8-tetrahydronaphtha-[1,2b]furan (2) on the basis of spectral data.
