Synthesis and structure of lithium and rubidium compounds with 2-(diphenylacetyl)-1,3-indanedione

Complexes RbL (I) and [Li₂(C₂H₅OH)L₂] (II) (L = C₂₃H₁₅O₃) have been synthesized and their crystal structures have been studied. Both compounds have monoclinic crystals with space group P2₁/c and Z = 4; I: a = 11.632(2) Å, b = 15.154(3) Å, c = 11.457(2) Å, β = 104.34(3)°; II: a = 12.982(3)Å, b = 12.083(2) Å, c = 25.317(5) Å β = 100.11(3)°. In the structure of I, dimeric groups [Rb₂O₆] with a shared edge are linked by the ligands to give infinite layers perpendicular to the x axis and cavities that form oblong channels. In the structure of II, Li₂O₇ dimers are formed by vertex sharing. The coordination of one of the lithium atoms (Li(1)) is completed to tetrahedral by the oxygen atom of the ethanol molecule. The structure of II, like that of I, is layered.     

4,7-Diphenyl-2-(p-dimethylaminophenyl)-1,3-indanedione and its dehydrodimer

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of N-(Biphenyl-2-thiocarbamoyl)-4-(1,3-dichlorophenyl) Carboxamide

The synthesis of the title molecule was achieved by the reaction of 2,4-dichlorobenzoyl chloride with potassium thiocyanate in 1:1 molar ratio in dry acetonitrile to afford the corresponding isothiocyante in situ followed by the treatment with 2-aminobiphenyl. The structure of the target compound was established by elemental analysis, FTIR, 1H, 13 C NMR and mass spectroscopy and unequivocally confirmed by the crystallographic data. The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n with a = 13.356(2), b = 7.0761(11), c = 20.539(3) , β = 105.723(4)°, V = 1868.5(5) 3 and Z = 4.

Substituted N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)-1,3-thiazolidin-4-ones: Synthesis and Anticorrosive Properties

A one-pot procedure was developed for synthesis of N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1,3-thiazolidin-4-ones in 64-68% yield by reactions of monoethanolamine with carbonyl compounds and mercaptoacetic acid. The synthesized compounds were characterized by IR and ¹H NMR spectra, and their anticorrosive properties were studied.     

Synthesis of N-(2-Benzene-2,2-dichloroethylidene)-4-chlorobenzenesulfonamide and N-(2-Benzene-2,2- dichloroethylidene)-4-methylbenzenesulfonamide

In reaction of N,N-dichloro-4-chlorobenzene- and N,N-dichloro-4-methylbenzenesulfonamides with phenylacetylene were obtained in good yield N-(2-benzene-2,2-dichloroethylidene)arenesulfonamides. The latter undergo nucleophilic addition of water, ethanol, and arenesulfonamides.     

Synthesis and structure of 1,3-dialkyl-4-(sulfonylimino)imidazolidin-2-ones

The reactions of 1,3-dialkyl-4,5-dihydroxyimidazolidin-2-ones with alkyl sulfamides have been studied and previously undescribed 1,3-dialkyl-4-(alkylaminosulfonylimino)imidazolidin-2-ones have been obtained. Synthesis and molecular structure of 1-(pyrimidin-2-yl)-2-(4-aryl-1,3-thiazol-2-yl)hydrazines

Reactions of some 2-hydrazinopyrimidine hydrochlorides with potassium thiocyanate gave 1-(pyrimidin-2-yl)thiosemicarbazides which underwent Hantzsch condensation with aryl chloromethyl ketones to produce 1-(pyrimidin-2-yl)-2-(4-aryl-1,3-thiazol-2-yl)hydrazine hydrochlorides. The protonation was accompanied by mutually dependent tautomeric rearrangements of heterocyclic fragments.     

Nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of 2-acetylpyridine 4 N-(2-methylpyridinyl)-, 4 N-(2-ethylpyridinyl)- and 4 N-methyl(2-ethylpyridinyl) thiosemicarbazones

Summary Ni^II and Cu^II complexes of 2-acetylpyridine ⁴ N-(2-methylpyridinyl)-, ⁴ N-(2-ethylpyridinyl)- and ⁴ N-methyl(2-ethylpyridinyl) thiosemicarbazones (HL4pam, HL4pae, and HL4Mpae, respectively) of general formula [M(HL)X₂] have been isolated from boiling EtOH and characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods. The growth inhibition activities of the thiosemicarbazones and their complexes were measured against Aspergillus nicer and Paecilomyces variotii.     

Investigation of the stereodirection of the Ritter reaction. Crystalline and molecular structure of N-(2-phenethyl)-4-methylpiperid-4-ol and N-(2-phenethyl)-4-methyl-4-acetamido-piperidine

The stereodirection of the Ritter reaction of N-(2-phenethyl)-4-methylpiperid-4-ol to the corresponding amide has been studied. X-ray analysis has shown that the reaction occurs with retention of the configuration about atom C₄ of the piperidine ring. Attempts are made to explain the stereodirection of the direction.A. L. Synthesis of N-[4-(2-naphthyl)]- and N-[4-(2-thienyl)methylaminobenzoyl]-dl-glutamic acids

N-[4-(2-Naphthyl)]-(IIa) and N-[4-(2-thienyl)methylaminobenzoyl]-dl-glutamic acids (IIb) have been synthesized for biological tests by the reaction of the corresponding halogen derivatives with diethyl p-aminobenzoyl-dl-glutamate (III) with subsequent hydrolysis of the esters obtained.
