Der Maler Wilhelm Ostwald: Kunst und Wissenschaft

Closely linked to the scientific‐philosophical work of the Nobel Laureat in chemistry in 1909, Wilhelm Ostwald, there exists an artistic work, that hardly was given attention to in the literature up to now. This contribution shows the creative periods of the painter Ostwald and their connection to the physical chemistry and the colour theory. More than 4000 paintings of the scientist are kept at his country house “Energy” in Großbothen.
