For nonsoft potential collision kernels with angular cutoff, we prove that under the initial condition f 0(v)(1+|v|2+|logf 0(v)|)L 1(R 3), the classical formal entropy identity holds for all nonnegative solutions of the spatially homogeneous Boltzmann equation in the class L ([0, ); L 1 2(R 3))C 1([0, ); L 1(R 3)) [where L 1 s (R 3)={ff(v)(1+|v|2) s/2L 1(R 3)}], and in this class, the nonincrease of energy always implies the conservation of energy and therefore the solutions obtained all conserve energy. Moreover, for hard potentials and the hard-sphere model, a local stability result for conservative solutions (i.e., satisfying the conservation of mass, momentum, and energy) is obtained. As an application of the local stability, a sufficient and necessary condition on the initial data f 0 such that the conservative solutions f belong to L 1 loc([0, ); L 1 2+ (R 3)) is also given.  相似文献

The linearized relativistic Boltzmann equation inL 2(r,p) is investigated. The detailed analysis of the collision operatorL is carried out for a wide class of scattering cross sections.L is proved to have a form of the multiplication operatorv(p) plus the compact inL 2(p) perturbationK. The collisional frequencyv(p) is analysed to discriminate between relativistic soft and hard interactions. Finally, the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the linearized relativistic Boltzmann equation is proved.  相似文献

We consider the Schrödinger operator H=(i+A)2 in the space L 2(R 3) with a magnetic potential A created by an infinite rectilinear current. We show that the operator H is absolutely continuous, its spectrum has infinite multiplicity and coincides with the positive half-axis. Then we find the large-time behavior of solutions exp(–i H t)f of the time dependent Schrödinger equation. Our main observation is that a quantum particle has always a preferable (depending on its charge) direction of propagation along the current. Similar result is true in classical mechanics.  相似文献

In the framework of Bohmian quantum mechanics, the Klein–Gordon equation can be seen as representing a particle with mass m which is guided by a guiding wave ?(x) in a causal manner. Here a relevant question is whether Bohmian quantum mechanics is applicable to a non-linear Klein–Gordon equation? We examine this approach for ?4(x) and sine-Gordon potentials. It turns out that this method leads to equations for quantum states which are identical to those derived by field theoretical methods used for quantum solitons. Moreover, the quantum force exerted on the particle can be determined. This method can be used for other non-linear potentials as well.  相似文献

The second-order generally invariant Lagrangians for the metric fields are studied within the framework of the Ehresmann theory of jets. Such a Lagrangian is a function on an appropriate fiber bundle whose structure group is the groupL n 3 of invertible 3-jets with source and target at the origin 0 of the real,n-dimensional Euclidean spaceR n, and whose type fiber is the manifold Tn 2(Rn* R n*) of 2-jets with source at 0 R n and target in the symmetric tensor productR n* Rn*. Explicit formulas for the action ofL n 3 onT n 2(Rn* R n*) are considered, and a complete system of differential identities for the generally invariant Lagrangians is obtained.  相似文献

Let H be a self-adjoint operator on l 2(Z d ) or L 2(R d ) with pure point spectrum on some interval I. We establish general necessary and sufficient conditions for dynamical localization for a given vector and on the interval of energies I. The sufficient conditions we obtain improve the existing ones such as SULE or WULE and can be useful in applications. Received: 16 November 2000 / Accepted: 14 February 2001  相似文献

The robust character of the Standard Model is confirmed. Examination of its geometrical basis in three equivalent internal symmetry spaces-the unitary planeC 2, the quaternion spaceQ, and the real spaceR 4—as well as the real spaceR 3 uncovers mathematical properties that predict the physical properties of leptons and quarks. The finite rotational subgroups of the gauge groupSU(2) L ×U(1) Y generate exactly three lepton families and four quark families and reveal how quarks and leptons are related. Among the physical properties explained are the mass ratios of the six leptons and eight quarks, the origin of the left-handed preference by the weak interaction, the geometrical source of color symmetry, and the zero neutrino masses. The (u, d) and (c, s) quark families team together to satisfy the triangle anomaly cancellation with the electron family, while the other families pair one-to-one for cancellation. The spontaneously broken symmetry is discrete and needs no Higgs mechanism. Predictions include all massless neutrinos, the top quark at 160 GeV/c 2, theb quark at 80 GeV/c 2, and thet quark at 2600 GeV/c 2.  相似文献

A five dimensional Kaluza-Klein space-time is considered in the presence of a perfect fluid source with variable G and Λ. An expanding universe is found by using a relation between the metric potential and an equation of state. The gravitational constant is found to decrease with time as Gt −(1−ω) whereas the variation for the cosmological constant follows as Λ∼t −2, L ~ ([(R)\dot]/R)2\Lambda \sim (\dot{R}/R)^{2} and L ~ [(R)\ddot]/R\Lambda \sim \ddot{R}/R where ω is the equation of state parameter and R is the scale factor.  相似文献

A theoretical study is presented, with an extended single impurity Anderson model, for the crystal field effect on the X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) spectra at L2,3 edges of mixed-valence Ce and Yb compounds in high magnetic fields. The crystal field acting on the 4f electrons is assumed to have cubic symmetry. Due to the competition among the effects of crystal field, mixed valency, and external magnetic field, the magnetic-field-dependence of XMCD spectra exhibits a variety of features; for instance, the branching ratio, R(L2/L3), of L2 and L3 XMCD intensities of Ce compounds can take R(L2/L3) > 1.0 and <1.0, and that of Yb compounds can take R(L2/L3) > 0 and <0. It is shown that the magnetic-field-dependence of the total XMCD intensity I(L2 + L3) is proportional to the magnetization curve, but that of R(L2/L3) gives more precise information on the ground state wavefunction in magnetic fields. A new and useful method to correlate the XMCD spectra, the 4f magnetization and the ground state wavefunction is proposed and used to discuss the relation between I(L2 + L3) and the magnetization curve and that between R(L2/L3) and the ground state wavefunction.  相似文献

The paper is concerned with the Enskog equation with a constant high density factor for large initial data in L 1(R n). The initial boundary value problem is investigated for bounded domains with irregular boundaries. The proof of an H-theorem for the case of general domains and boundary conditions is given. The main result guarantees the existence of global solutions of boundary value problems for large initial data with all v-moments initially finite and domains having boundary with finite Hausdorff measure and satisfying a cone condition. Existence and uniqueness are first proved for the case of bounded velocities. The solution has finite norm where q = (t 0, x) is taken on all possible n-dimensional planes Q(v) in R n+l intersecting a fixed point and orthogonal to vectors (1, v), v R n.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Explicit analytical expressions are presented for the density derivative, ?gHS(R; ρ)/?ρ, of the Percus–Yevick approximation to the hard-sphere radial distribution function for R ≤ 6σ, where σ is the hard-sphere diameter and ρ = (N/V3 is the reduced density, where N is the number of particles and V is the volume. A FORTRAN program is provided for the implementation of these for R ≤ 6σ, which includes code for the calculation of gHS(R; ρ) itself over this range. We also present and incorporate within the program code convenient analytical expressions for the numerical extrapolation of both quantities past R = 6σ. Our expressions are numerically tested against exact results.  相似文献

The origin of the classical BRS symmetry is discussed for the case of a first class constrained system consisting of a 2n-dimensional phase spaceS with free action of a Lie gauge groupG of dimensionm. The extended phase spaceS ext of the Fradkin-Vilkovisky approach is identified with a globally trivial vector bundle overS with fibreL*(G)L(G), whereL(G) is the Lie algebra ofG andL*(G) its dual. It is shown that the structure group of the frame bundle of the supermanifoldS ext is the orthosymplectic group OSp(m,m; 2n), which is the natural invariance group of the super Poisson bracket structure on the function spaceC (S ext). The action of the BRS operator is analyzed for the caseS=R 2n with constraints given by pure momenta. The breaking of the osp(m,m; 2n)-invariance down to sp(2n–2m) occurs via an intermediate osp(m; 2nm). Starting from a (2n+2m)-dimensional system with orthosymplectic invariance, different choices for the BRS operator correspond to choosing different 2n-dimensional constraint supermanifolds inS ext, which in general characterize different constrained systems. There is a whole family of physically equivalent BRS operators which can be used to describe a particular constrained system.  相似文献

By solving the Diras equation for the motion of an electron (c) in the circularly polarized electromagnetic field it is shown that the intrinsic electron spin forms an interaction Hamiltonian with a time independent fieldB (3) of electromagnetic radiation in the vacuum. In the same way as intrinsic spin is a fundamental property of the electron,B (3) is therefore a fundamental and intrinsic property of the vacuum electromagnetic field.  相似文献

The Evans wave equation [1-3] is developed in the weak-field limit to give the Poisson equation and an electrogravitic equation expressing the electric field strength E in terms of the acceleration g due to gravity and a fundamental scalar potential (0) with the units of volts (joules per coulomb). The electrogravitic equation shows that an electric field strength can be obtained from the acceleration due to gravity, which in general relativity is non-Euclidean spacetime. Therefore an electric field strength can be obtained, in theory, from scalar curvature R. This inference is supported by recent experimental data from the patented motionless electromagnetic generator [5].  相似文献

Let f(ϕ) be a positive continuous function on 0 ≤ϕ≤Θ, where Θ≤ 2 π, and let ξ be the number of two-dimensional lattice points in the domain Π R (f) between the curves r=(R+c 1/R)f(ϕ) and r=(R+c 2/R)f(ϕ), where c 1<c 2 are fixed. Randomizing the function f according to a probability law P, and the parameter R according to the uniform distribution μ L on the interval [a 1 L,a 2 L], Sinai showed that the distribution of ξ under P×μ L converges to a mixture of the Poisson distributions as L→∞. Later Major showed that for P-almost all f, the distribution of ξ under μ L converges to a Poisson distribution as L→∞. In this note, we shall give shorter and more transparent proofs to these interesting theorems, at the same time extending the class of P and strengthening the statement of Sinai. The problem of finding the summational collision invariants for the Boltzmann equation is tackled with the aim of proving that the most general solution of the problem is not different from the standard one even when the equation defining a collision invariant is only satisfied almost everywhere inR 3×R 3×S 2. The collision invariant is assumed to be in the Hilbert spaceH of the functions which are square integrable with respect to a Maxwellian weight.  相似文献

We discuss effective field-theory treatments of the problem of three particles interacting via short-range forces (range Ra 2, with a 2 the two-body scattering length). We show that forming a once-subtracted scattering equation yields a scattering amplitude whose low-momentum part is renormalization-group invariant up to corrections of O(R 3/a 2 3). Since corrections of O(R/a 2) and O(R 2/a 2 2) can be straightforwardly included in the integral equation’s kernel, a unique solution for 1 + 2 scattering phase shifts and three-body bound-state energies can be obtained up to this accuracy. We use our equation to calculate the correlation between the binding energies of Helium-4 trimers and the atom-dimer scattering length. Our results are in excellent agreement with recent three-dimensional Faddeev calculations that used phenomenological inter-atomic potentials.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The Klein–Gordon equation plays an important role in mathematical physics. In this paper, a direct method which is very effective, simple, and convenient, is presented for solving the conformable fractional Klein–Gordon equation. Using this analytic method, the exact solutions of this equation are found in terms of the Jacobi elliptic functions. This method is applied to both time and space fractional equations. Some solutions are also illustrated by the graphics.  相似文献

We realize the Hopf algebraU q–1 (so(N)) as an algebra of differential operators on the quantum Euclidean spaceR q N . The generators are suitableq-deformed analogs of the angular momentum components on ordinaryR N . The algebra Fun(R q N ) of functions onR q N splits into a direct sum of irreducible vector representations ofU q–1 (so(N)); the latter are explicitly constructed as highest weight representations.  相似文献

We present physical arguments-based on loop space representations for Dirac/Klein Gordon determinants—that some suitable Fermionic String Ising Models at the critical point and defined on the space-time base manifold M ì R3{M \subset R^3} are formal quantum states of the gravitational field when quantized in the Ashtekar-Sen connection canonical formalism. These results complements the author previous string-loop space studies on the subject.  相似文献
