We have observed deeply modulated photon echoes from Pr3+ ions in LaF3 reflecting nuclear hyperfine interactions in both the ground 3H4 and excited 3P0 states. We infer splittings of 0.75 MHz for the 3P0 state. Inhomogeneous broadening of the terminal levels is found to lead to echo modulation damping. A surprising concentration dependence of the photon echo relaxation rate is observed as well as a dramatically long-lived (3 min) stimulated photon echo.  相似文献

We consider the prospects of crystals of cerium hexaboride CeB6 and lanthanum-cerium hexaborides (La,Ce)B6 as a sensitive element in the so-called QVD thermoelectric single-photon detectors, operating at cryogenic temperatures. We have collected and analyzed the values of thermoelectric parameters of CeB6 and (La,Ce)B6 available in the literature. On this basis we calculated the energy resolution and photon count rate of the future thermoelectric QVD detectors. We conclude that the detectors on CeB6 can register a single X-ray photon, and detectors on (La,Ce)B6 — a single UV photon.  相似文献

Delbrück scattering is the elastic scattering of a photon in the Coulomb field of a nucleus via a virtual electron loop. The contribution of this virtual subprocess to the emission of a photon in the collision of ultra-relativistic nuclei, Z1Z2→Z1Z2γ, is considered. We identify the incoming virtual photon as being generated by one of the relativistic nuclei involved in the binary collision and the scattered photon as being emitted in the process. The energy and angular distributions of the photons are calculated. The discussed process has no infrared divergence. The total cross section obtained is 14 barn for Au–Au collisions at the RHIC collider and 50 barn for Pb–Pb collisions at the LHC collider. These cross sections are considerably larger than those for ordinary tree-level nuclear bremsstrahlung in the considered photon energy range, me⪡Eγ⪡meγ, where γ is the Lorentz factor of the nucleus. Finally, photon emission in electron–nucleus collisions, eZ→eZγ, is discussed in the context of the eRHIC option.  相似文献

We demonstrate a narrow-band photon pair source on a rubidium (Rb) D2 line (780 nm) using a periodical poled KTiOPO4 crystal via a degenerate optical parametric oscillator far below threshold. The single longitudinal mode is selected by a spectral filtering cavity. The measured cross correlation between two photons shows that the generated photon has a linewidth of 21 MHz, which is comparable to the typical linewidth of an atomic-based quantum memory. The detected photon pair rate is about 2.7/s/MHz/mW. This system could be utilized for many applications in quantum information field, such as the storage and retrieval of a photon in Rb atomic ensemble and so on.  相似文献

We have calculated the impact on theA dependence of direct photon production at large transverse momenta (p T ) of models that were used successfully to explain the EMC effect. We find that, for energies andp T 's typical of present direct photon measurements, the change in the photon yield due to nuclear modification of parton distributions can be expected to be about 15–20% on Fe. The effect is quite sensitive to the gluon distribution. In particular, for the models used in our calculations, theA dependence is affected more by the gluon distribution than by the quark distributions.  相似文献

We suggest a model that allows analysis of the photoprocesses in polyatomic organic molecules upon multiple IR photon capture. The dissociation and electron excitation of these molecules is shown to depend resonantly on the photon energy and intensity. The (CH2)n substructures of these molecules serve for IR photons as antennas that accumulate energy to values at which dissociation or electron excitation can be triggered. The model is applied to diphenylalkan molecules as an example.  相似文献

根据Weizsacker-Williams近似,把自由电子激光模拟成相对论性电子与赝光子的碰撞,而光子被散射.按照这个物理模型,研究了电子与光子的能量交换,得到了散射光子能量与碰撞前光子能量之间的关系:εp=4γ2εp(0)散射光子能量的放大是以电子消耗能量为代价的分析。计算了能量交换的规模,并得出自由电子激光中能量转换效率最大为50%. 关键词:  相似文献

We present measurement of the resonant Raman effect in the alloy system CdS1?xSex for laser photon energies both above and below the concentration-dependent energy gap. Our data show that the Raman intensities are not simply functions of the difference between the photon energy and the gap energy. These results may be partially understood in terms of a simple theoretical model which elucidates the role of local electric fields in determining Raman intensities in alloys.  相似文献

We have measured the variation of the temperature of the photoexcited hot electrons in GaAs as the pump photon energy is varies from 1.54 to 2.83 eV using various dyes in N2 laser pumped dye laser. We find that the photon flux required to obtain a given temperature (45°K) increases by a factor of 15 as the photon energy decreases from 2.83 to 1.54 eV. The results are in agreement with a simple theory, and allow us to draw interesting conclusions about energy relaxation processes in semiconductors.  相似文献

We have investigated the shot noise affected by the perturbation of two microwave fields (MWFs) with frequencies ω1 and ω2, which can be classified as the commensurate and incommensurate external ac fields. The time-dependent current correlation function and the spectral density of shot noise have been obtained. They are very different compared with the single-field applied system in the nonlinear regime of the ac potentials. The different photon absorption and emission processes induce different kinds of noise spectral density. We have performed the numerical calculations for both commensurate balanced and unbalanced photon absorptions and emissions. The multi-photon procedure can be seen clearly from the resonance of shot noise. Different commensurate number q = ω21 contributes to different photon absorption and emission behaviors. It is found that the asymmetric configuration of shot noise is intimately associated with the commensurate number q. The differential conductance appears symmetric and asymmetric behaviors, and the channel blockade exhibits. The shot noise is large enough to surpass its saturated value for the unbalanced photon absorption case. The sensitive behaviors of Fano factor associated with different commensurate numbers and amplitudes of ac fields signify that the shot noise can be controlled by external MWFs significantly.  相似文献

We have measured the absolute Raman efficiency as well as the dispersion for first order scattering by the optical zone center phonon in germanium with the incident photon energies in the range of the E0 gap energy. At 77 K a Raman polarizability of 68±14 Å2 is found for an incident photon energy of 0.826 eV. The deformation potential d is determined to be 40 eV assuming C0 ? 1 for the strength parameter of the E0 gap.  相似文献

We study the emission of a hard photon in the spectator, free quark approximation ofB meson decays. We thus obtain an estimate for the high end of the photon spectrum in the processb→X u,c+γ and in the processesb \(\bar c\) +X u,c+γ andbl \(\bar v\) +X u,c+γ, whereX q=q+X. We show that the hard photon spectrum will allow to distinguish between decays via spectator and “annihilation” amplitudes, and could be used as well for an independent estimate of |V ub/V cb|. 采用数字模拟方法较为系统地研究了光子能量、样品直径和散射强度对成像质量的影响,克服了已有实验结果的局限性.研究得到成像质量随光子能量的变化关系,模拟结果与已有实验结果相符.研究发现,当其他成像参数不变时,同一样品存在多个光子能量可实现相近的成像质量,且成像质量都较好,这可用于定量相衬成像中多图重构时图像的选择,也为对辐射剂量有要求的样品提供理论依据.得到了不同直径样品在成像质量最佳时所对应的样品到探测器距离,发现这一距离随样品直径的增加而增加.研究了样品厚度或折射率变化导致的散射X射线对成像质量的影响,发 关键词: X射线同轴轮廓成像 成像质量 X射线散射  相似文献

We have studied the information locking effect and the effect of correlation of the shape of an object laser pulse with the shape of a stimulated photon echo response in the presence of external spatially inhomogeneous electric fields. We have shown that, for the transition 3H4-3P0 in a LaF3:Pr3+ crystal, one can observe the effect of the correlation of the shape of an object laser pulse with the shape of a stimulated photon echo response and, depending on the scheme of the action of external spatially inhomogeneous electric fields, either the information locking effect or the information destroying effect.  相似文献

Thermal photons can provide information on the temperature of the new state of matter created at RHIC. In the pT region of 1–3 GeV/c thermal photons are expected to be the dominant direct photon source. Therefore, a possible excess compared to a pure decay photon signal due to a thermal photon contribution should be seen in the double ratio (γ/γ(π0))Measured/(γ/γ(π0))Simulated, if sufficient accuracy can be reached. We have studied the radiative decay of neutrinos with relatively high energies E ? m e in a strong magnetic field taking into account the effect of a bound electron-positron pair (positronium) on photon dispersion. The allowance for the positronium contribution to the polarization operator of the photon substantially modifies the dispersion relation for the photon and the amplitude of the process in the vicinity of the cyclotron resonance. It is shown that the probability of the ?? ?? ??? process considerably increases when the positronium contribution is taken into account.  相似文献

We examine the possibility of using direct photon production at HERA as a means of obtaining information about the photon structure and fragmentation functions. Estimates of the cross section for inclusive prompt photon production at theep collider HERA are made completely in next-to-leading order QCD. Using parton distributions for the photon evolved in next-to-leading order QCD for the first time, we show that theO( s ) corrections to the processes involving these functions are significant in the regions where they dominate. This can have important consequences for the possibility of measuring the gluon content of the photon using these processes at HERA. Moreover, we show that it may not be straightforward to separate the various contributions to the cross section in theep lab frame.  相似文献

The pronounced variation of the intensity of photons emitted from the tunneling gap of an STM with respect to the applied bias voltage Vt is studied experimentally using simultaneous measurements of tunneling characteristics and photon emission. We show that the structure in isochromat photon spectra are determined by the following: bias-dependent changes in tunneling characteristics, density of initial and final states, and modifications of tip-induced plasmon modes. It is demonstrated that isochromat spectra provide a conclusive test for the inelastic tunneling mechanism. Coupling between tunneling electrons and tip-induced plasmon modes which gives rise to the intense photon emission observed is discussed within this model.  相似文献

We study the induced photon bremsstrahlung from a fast quark produced in AA collisions due to multiple scattering in quark-gluon plasma. For RHIC and LHC conditions, the induced photon spectrum is sharply peaked at a photon energy close to the initial quark energy. In this region, the contribution of the induced radiation to the photon fragmentation function exceeds the ordinary vacuum radiation. Contrary to previous analyses [4–7], our results show that, at RHIC and LHC energies, the final-state interaction effects in quark-gluon plasma do not suppress the direct photon production and may even enhance it at p T ~5–15 GeV.  相似文献
