We classify, up to a linear-topological isomorphism, all separableL p-spaces, 1≤p<∞, associated with von Neumann algebras of type I. In particular, anyL p-space associated with an infinite-dimensional atomic von Neumann algebra is isomorphic tol p, or toC p, or to . Further, anyL p-space,p∈[1,∞),p∈2 associated with an infinite-dimensional von Neumann algebraM of type I is isomorphic to one of the following nine Banach spaces: lp, Lp, SP, Cp, Sp ⊕ Lp, Lp(Sp), Cp ⊕ Lp, Lp(Cp), Cp ⊕ Lp(Sp). A sufficient condition is given when a subspaceLL 1(μ,X) of the space of Bochner integrable function, defined on a finite and positive measure space (S, Φ, μ) with values in a Banach spaceX, is locally uniformly convex renormable in terms of the integrable evaluations {∫ A fdμ;f∈L}. This shows the lifting property thatL 1(μ,X) is renormable if and only ifX is, and indicates a large class of renormable subspaces even ifX does not admit and equivalent locally uniformly convex norm.  相似文献

It is known that there is a continuous linear functional on L which is not narrow. On the other hand, every order-to-norm continuous AM-compact operator from L (μ) to a Banach space is narrow. We study order-to-norm continuous operators acting from L (μ) with a finite atomless measure μ to a Banach space. One of our main results asserts that every order-to-norm continuous operator from L (μ) to c 0(Γ) is narrow while not every such an operator is AM-compact.  相似文献

Let V be a finite dimensional p-adic vector space and let τ be an operator in GL(V). A probability measure μ on V is called τ-decomposable or m ? [(L)\tilde]0(t)\mu\in {\tilde L}_0(\tau) if μ = τ(μ)* ρ for some probability measure ρ on V. Moreover, when τ is contracting, if ρ is infinitely divisible, so is μ, and if ρ is embeddable, so is μ. These two subclasses of [(L)\tilde]0(t){\tilde L}_0(\tau) are denoted by L 0(τ) and L 0 #(τ) respectively. When μ is infinitely divisible τ-decomposable for a contracting τ and has no idempotent factors, then it is τ-semi-selfdecomposable or operator semi-selfdecomposable. In this paper, sequences of decreasing subclasses of the above mentioned three classes, [(L)\tilde]m(t) é Lm(t) é L#m(t), 1 £ m £ ¥{\tilde L}_m(\tau)\supset L_m(\tau) \supset L^\#_m(\tau), 1\le m\le \infty , are introduced and several properties and characterizations are studied. The results obtained here are p-adic vector space versions of those given for probability measures on Euclidean spaces.  相似文献

In this paper, we get a necessary and sufficient condition on the weights (μ,v) for the Poisson integral operator to be bounded fromL Φ(R n, v(x)dx) to weak-L Φ(R + n+1 ,dμ), where Φ is anN-function satisfying the Δ2-condition. We introduce the notion of L 2-rigidity for von Neumann algebras, a generalization of property (T) which can be viewed as an analogue for the vanishing of 1-cohomology into the left regular representation of a group. We show that L 2-rigidity passes to normalizers and is satisfied by nonamenable II1 factors which are non-prime, have property Γ, or are weakly rigid. As a consequence we obtain that if M is a free product of diffuse von Neumann algebras, or if M=LΓ where Γ is a finitely generated group with β1 (2)(Γ)>0, then any nonamenable regular subfactor of M is prime and does not have properties Γ or (T). In particular this gives a new approach for showing solidity for a free group factor thus recovering a well known recent result of N. Ozawa.  相似文献

Let L be an RA loop, that is, a loop whose loop ring in any characteristic is an alternative, but not associative, ring. We show that every central unit in the integral loop ring ZL is the product ℓμ0 of an element ℓ ∈ L and a loop ring element μ0 whose support is in the torsion subloop of L and use this result to determine when all central units of ZL are trivial. We give examples of non-amenable infinite conjugacy classes groups Γ with the Haagerup property, weakly amenable with constant Λcb(Γ) = 1, for which we show that the associated II1 factors L(Γ) are strongly solid, i.e. the normalizer of any diffuse amenable subalgebra P ì L(G){P \subset L(\Gamma)} generates an amenable von Neumann algebra. Nevertheless, for these examples of groups Γ, L(Γ) is not isomorphic to any interpolated free group factor L(F t ), for 1 < t ≤  ∞.  相似文献

We develop a theory of “special functions” associated with a certain fourth-order differential operator Dm,n\mathcal{D}_{\mu,\nu} on ℝ depending on two parameters μ,ν. For integers μ,ν≥−1 with μ+ν∈2ℕ0, this operator extends to a self-adjoint operator on L 2(ℝ+,x μ+ν+1 dx) with discrete spectrum. We find a closed formula for the generating functions of the eigenfunctions, from which we derive basic properties of the eigenfunctions such as orthogonality, completeness, L 2-norms, integral representations, and various recurrence relations.  相似文献

Consider the algebra L(M, τ) of all τ-measurable operators with respect to M and let S 0(M, τ) be the subalgebra of τ-compact operators in L(M, τ). We show that for certain self-similar measures μ with support in the interval 0≤x≤1, the analytic functions {e i2πnx :n=0,1,2, …} contain an orthonormal basis inL 2 (μ). Moreover, we identify subsetsP ⊂ ℕ0 = {0,1,2,...} such that the functions {e n :n ∈ P} form an orthonormal basis forL 2 (μ). We also give a higher-dimensional affine construction leading to self-similar measures μ with support in ℝ ν , obtained from a given expansivev-by-v matrix and a finite set of translation vectors. We show that the correspondingL 2 (μ) has an orthonormal basis of exponentialse i2πλ·x , indexed by vectors λ in ℝ ν , provided certain geometric conditions (involving the Ruelle transfer operator) hold for the affine system. Using the Alfsen-Effros structure topology on the extreme boundary of the dual unit ball of a complex Banach space, we give characterizations ofL 1-preduals (i.e., Banach spaces whose duals are isometrically isomorphic toL 1 (μ) for a non-negative measure μ) and some of its subclasses viz.G-spaces,C σ-spaces and c 0(Г) spaces.  相似文献
