Struktur von [CPRu(C0)2]2 (Cp  η5-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)

The molecular structure of di-μ-carbonyl-bis[carbonyl(η⁵-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)ruthenium] (RuRu) has been determined by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study (monoclinic, space group P2₁/n,a  979.90(9), b = 831.91(7), c = 1427.75(12) pm, β = 100.026(9)°, R = 0.018). In the solid state the complex exists solely as the trans-carbonyl bridged isomer. The RuRu bond length is 275.2(1) pm.

Upon warming the reaction mixture of Ni(cdt), C₂F₄, and 2,6-ⁱPr₂Ph-dad in THF from −78°C to room temperature the red-violet complex (2,6-ⁱPr₂Ph-dad)Ni(C₂F₄) (1) is obtained. 1 reacts with ethene already at −78°C by coupling of the olefinic ligands with the nickel atom to form the blue nickelatetrafluoro-cyclopentane compound (2,6-ⁱPr₂Ph-dad)Ni(C₂H₄C₂F₄) (2).

Upon reaction of Na[MeCp(CO)₂MnSiR₃] (1) (MeCp = η⁵-CH₃C₅H₄) with Ph₃PAuCl or (3-picoline)₂PtCl₂ (2) in the presence of moist 3-picoline the heteronuclear hydrido complexes MeCp(CO)₂Mn(μ-H)AuPPh₃ (3) or [MeCp(CO)₂Mn(μ-H)]₂Pt(3-picoline)₂ (4) are obtained. In both complexes the hydride ligand bridges the two metals.
