An active fault tolerant control (FTC) scheme is proposed in this paper to accommodate for an industrial steam turbine faults based on integration of a data-driven fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) module and an adaptive generalized predictive control (GPC) approach. The FDD module uses a fusion-based methodology to incorporate a multi-attribute feature via a support vector machine (SVM) and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) classifiers. In the GPC formulation, an adaptive configuration of its internal model has been devised to capture the faulty model for the set of internal steam turbine faults. To handle the most challenging faults, however, the GPC control configuration is modified via its weighting factors to demand for satisfactory control recovery with less vigorous control actions. The proposed FTC scheme is hence able to systematically maintain early FDD with efficient fault accommodation against faults jeopardizing the steam turbine availability. Extensive simulation tests are conducted to explore the effectiveness of the proposed FTC performances in response to different categories of steam turbine fault scenarios.  相似文献

The goal in many fault detection and isolation schemes is to increase the isolation and identification speed. This paper, presents a new approach of a nonlinear model based adaptive observer method, for detection, isolation and identification of actuator and sensor faults. Firstly, we will design a new method for the actuator fault problem where, after the fault detection and before the fault isolation, we will try to estimate the output of the instrument. The method is based on the formation of nonlinear observer banks where each bank isolates each actuator fault. Secondly, for the sensor problem we will reformulate the system by introducing a new state variable, so that an augmented system can be constructed to treat sensor faults as actuator faults. A method based on the design of an adaptive observers’ bank will be used for the fault treatment. These approaches use the system model and the outputs of the adaptive observers to generate residues. Residuals are defined in such way to isolate the faulty instrument after detecting the fault occurrence. The advantages of these methods are that we can treat not only single actuator and sensor faults but also multiple faults, more over the isolation time has been decreased. In this study, we consider that only abrupt faults in the system can occur. The validity of the methods will be tested firstly in simulation by using a nonlinear model of waste water treatment process with and without measurement noise and secondly with the same nonlinear model but by using this time real data.  相似文献

Obtaining accurate models of systems which are prone to failures and breakdowns is a difficult task. In this paper we present a methodology which makes the task of modeling failure prone discrete event systems (DESs) considerably less cumbersome, less error prone, and more user-friendly. The task of obtaining commonly used automata models for DESs is non-trivial for most practical systems, owing to the fact that the number of states in the commonly used automata models is exponential in the number of signals and faults. In contrast a model of a discrete event system, in the rules based modeling formalism proposed by the co-authors of this paper, is of size polynomial in the number of signals and faults. In order to model failures, we augment the signals set of the rules based formalism to include binary valued fault signals, the values representing either a non-faulty or a faulty state of a certain failure type. Addition of new fault signals requires introduction of new rules for the added fault signal events, and also modification of the existing rules for non-fault events. The rules based modeling formalism is further extended to model real-time systems, and we apply it to model delay-faults of the system as well. The model of a failure prone DES in the rules based can automatically be converted into an equivalent (timed)-automaton model for a failure analysis in the automaton model framework.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the fault-tolerant output regulation problem for nonlinear systems with faults generated by exogenous systems that belong to a certain pre-specified set of models. The novelty is to design a fault-tolerant control (FTC) scheme for the overall system process where different faults may occur respectively at different time instants of the process, which is called the successional faulty case. The proposed FTC framework relies on a simple supervisory switching among a family of pre-computed candidate controllers. The output regulation goal is maintained in such a successional faulty case. A DC motor example illustrates the efficiency of the proposed method.  相似文献

The normal operation of propulsion gearboxes ensures the ship safety. Chaos indicators could efficiently indicate the state change of the gearboxes. However, accurate detection of gearbox hybrid faults using Chaos indicators is a challenging task and the detection under speed variation conditions is attracting considerable attentions. Literature review suggests that the gearbox vibration is a kind of nonlinear mixture of variant vibration sources and the blind source separation (BSS) is reported to be a promising technique for fault vibration analysis, but very limited work has addressed the nonlinear BSS approach for hybrid faults decoupling diagnosis. Aiming to enhance the fault detection performance of Chaos indicators, this work presents a new nonlinear BSS algorithm for gearbox hybrid faults detection under a speed variation condition. This new method appropriately introduces the kernel spectral regression (KSR) framework into the morphological component analysis (MCA). The original vibration data are projected into the reproducing kernel Hilbert space (RKHS) where the instinct nonlinear structure in the original data can be linearized by KSR. Thus the MCA is able to deal with nonlinear BSS in the KSR space. Reliable hybrid faults decoupling is then achieved by this new nonlinear MCA (NMCA). Subsequently, by calculating the Chaos indicators of the decoupled fault components and comparing them with benchmarks, the hybrid faults can be precisely identified. Two specially designed case studies were implemented to evaluate the proposed NMCA-Chaos method on hybrid gear faults decoupling diagnosis. The performance of the NMCA-Chaos was compared with state of art techniques. The analysis results show high performance of the proposed method on hybrid faults detection in a marine propulsion gearbox with large speed variations.  相似文献

Robust state estimation and fault diagnosis are challenging problems in the research into hybrid systems. In this paper a novel robust hybrid observer is proposed for a class of hybrid systems with unknown inputs and faults. Model uncertainties, disturbances and faults are represented as structured unknown inputs. The robust hybrid observer consists of a mode observer for mode identification and a continuous observer for continuous state estimation and mode transition detection. It is shown that the mode can be identified correctly and the continuous state estimation error is exponentially uniformly bounded. Robustness to model uncertainties and disturbances can be guaranteed for the hybrid observer by disturbance decoupling. Furthermore, the detectability and mode identifiability conditions are rigorously analyzed. On the basis of the robust hybrid observer, a robust fault detection and isolation scheme is presented also in the paper. Simulations of a hybrid four-tank system show the proposed approach is effective.  相似文献

This paper presents a fault diagnosis architecture for a class of hybrid systems with nonlinear uncertain time-driven dynamics, measurement noise, and autonomous and controlled mode transitions. The proposed approach features a hybrid estimator based on a modified hybrid automaton framework. The fault detection scheme employs a filtering approach that attenuates the effect of the measurement noise and allows tighter mode-dependent thresholds for the detection of both discrete and parametric faults while guaranteeing no false alarms due to modeling uncertainty and mode mismatches. Both the hybrid estimator and the fault detection scheme are linked with an autonomous guard events identification (AGEI) scheme that handles the effects of mode mismatches due to autonomous mode transitions and allows effective mode estimation. Finally, the fault isolation scheme anticipates which fault events may have occurred and dynamically employs the appropriate isolation estimators for isolating the fault by calculating suitable thresholds and estimating the parametric fault magnitude through adaptive approximation methods. Simulation results from a five-tank hybrid system illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

The objective of studying software reliability is to assist software engineers in understanding more of the probabilistic nature of software failures during the debugging stages and to construct reliability models. In this paper, we consider modeling of a multiplicative failure rate whose components are evolving stochastically over testing stages and discuss its Bayesian estimation. In doing so, we focus on the modeling of parameters such as the fault detection rate per fault and the number of faults. We discuss how the proposed model can account for “imperfect debugging” under certain conditions. We use actual inter-failure data to carry out inference on model parameters via Markov chain Monte Carlo methods and present additional insights from Bayesian analysis.  相似文献

This article investigates the stabilization and control problems for a general active fault‐tolerant control system (AFTCS) in a stochastic framework. The novelty of the research lies in utilizing uncertain nonhomogeneous Markovian structures to take account for the imperfect fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) algorithms of the AFTCS. The underlying AFTCS is supposed to be modeled by two random processes of Markov type; one characterizing the system fault process and the other describing the FDD process. It is assumed that the FDD algorithm is imperfect and provides inaccurate Markovian parameters for the FDD process. Specifically, it provides uncertain transition rates (TRs); the TRs that lie in an interval without any particular structures. This framework is more consistent with real‐world applications to accommodate different types of faults. It is more general than the previously developed AFTCSs because of eliminating the need for an accurate estimation of the fault process. To solve the stabilizability and the controller design problems of this AFTCS, the whole system is viewed as an uncertain nonhomogeneous Markovian jump linear system (NHMJLS) with time‐varying and uncertain specifications. Based on the multiple and stochastic Lyapunov function for the NHMJLS, first a sufficient condition is obtained to analyze the system stabilizability and then, the controller gains are synthesized. Unlike the previous fault‐tolerant controllers, the proposed robust controller only needs to access the FDD process, besides it is easily obtainable through the existing optimization techniques. It is successfully tested on a practical inverted pendulum controlled by a fault‐prone DC motor. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Complexity 21: 318–329, 2016  相似文献

Hybrid system models exploit the modelling abstraction that fast state transitions take place instantaneously so that they encompass discrete events and the continuous time behaviour for the while of a system mode. If a system is in a certain mode, e.g. two rigid bodies stick together, then residuals of analytical redundancy relations (ARRs) within certain small bounds indicate that the system is healthy. An unobserved mode change, however, invalidates the current model for the dynamic behaviour. As a result, ARR residuals may exceed current thresholds indicating faults in system components that have not happened. The paper shows that ARR residuals derived from a bond graph cannot only serve as fault indicators but may also be used for bond graph model-based system mode identification. ARR residuals are numerically computed in an off-line simulation by coupling a bond graph of the faulty system to a non-faulty system bond graph through residual sinks. In real-time simulation, the faulty system model is to be replaced by measurements from the real system. As parameter values are uncertain, it is important to determine adaptive ARR thresholds that, given uncertain parameters, allow to decide whether the dynamic behaviour in a current system mode is the one of the healthy system so that false alarms or overlooking of true faults can be avoided. The paper shows how incremental bond graphs can be used to determine adaptive mode-dependent ARR thresholds for switched linear time-invariant systems with uncertain parameters in order to support robust fault detection. Bond graph-based hybrid system mode identification as well as the determination of adaptive fault thresholds is illustrated by application to a power electronic system easy to survey. Some simulation results have been analytically validated.  相似文献

Recently, the safety of aircraft has attracted much attention with some crashes occurring. Gas-path faults, as the most common faults of aircraft, pose a vast challenge for the safety of aircraft because of the complexity of the aero-engine structure. In this article, a hybrid deep computation model is proposed to effectively detect gas-path faults on the basis of the performance data. In detail, to capture the local spatial features of the gas-path performance data, an unfully connected convolutional neural network of one-dimensional kernels is used. Furthermore, to model the temporal patterns hidden in the gas-path faults, a recurrent computation architecture is introduced. Finally, extensive experiments are conducted on real aero-engine data. The results show that the proposed model can outperform the models with which it is compared.  相似文献

A new diagnostic method for hierarchically structured discrete-event systems is presented. The efficiency of this method results from the fact that the complexity of the diagnostic task is reduced by first detecting a faulty component using a coarse process model on a high level of abstraction, and subsequently refining the result by investigating the faulty component with the help of a detailed component model in order to identify the fault with sufficient precision. On both abstraction levels, the method uses a timed discrete-event model of the appropriate part of the system. On the higher abstraction level a timed event graph is used that describes how the temporal distance of the events is changed by component faults. On the lower level of abstraction, timed automata are used to cope with the non-determinism of the event sequence generated by the faulty and faultless components. The approach is illustrated by the diagnosis of a batch process.  相似文献

This paper investigates the fault tolerance problem of hybrid systems with faults that affect the switching sequence. A hierarchical model is developed, which consists of four parts from bottom to top: hybrid automata, qualitative abstraction, discrete abstraction, and supervisor. Under this model, the reachability and fault tolerability properties of hybrid systems can be analyzed in a qualitative manner and from discrete-event system point of view. Sufficient conditions are given to maintain the system’s ideal (or acceptable) performance in spite of faults. Several numerical examples and an application to hose insertion task illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method.  相似文献

For implementation of various model based techniques such as in control and fault diagnosis, data-driven identification is key for enabling cheap and rapid development of models of hybrid systems of industrial interest. In the present work, a novel identification method is proposed for a class of hybrid systems which are linear and separable in the discrete variables (that is discrete states and discrete inputs). The method takes cognizance of the fact that the separable structure of the hybrid system constrains the evolution of system dynamics. In particular, the proposed method identifies models corresponding to a certain number of modes, far fewer than the total possible modes of the system. It then generates the models for the remaining modes without any further requirement for input–output data by exploiting the separable structure of the hybrid system. We experimentally validate the method by identifying the model for a three tank benchmark hybrid system followed by model predictive control using the identified model.  相似文献

This paper built a hybrid decomposition-ensemble model named VMD-ARIMA-HGWO-SVR for the purpose of improving the stability and accuracy of container throughput prediction. The latest variational mode decomposition (VMD) algorithm is employed to decompose the original series into several modes (components), then ARIMA models are built to forecast the low-frequency components, and the high-frequency components are predicted by SVR models which are optimized with a recently proposed swarm intelligence algorithm called hybridizing grey wolf optimization (HGWO), following this, the prediction results of all modes are ensembled as the final forecasting result. The error analysis and model comparison results show that the VMD is more effective than other decomposition methods such as CEEMD and WD, moreover, adopting ARIMA models for prediction of low-frequency components can yield better results than predicting all components by SVR models. Based on the results of empirical study, the proposed model has good prediction performance on container throughput data, which can be used in practical work to provide reference for the operation and management of ports to improve the overall efficiency and reduce the operation costs.  相似文献

The rolling bearings often suffer from compound faults in practice. The concurrence of different faults increases the fault detection difficulty and the decoupling detection of compound faults is attracting considerable attentions. Recent publications report the application of the multiwavelets and empirical mode decomposition (EMD) for compound faults decoupling. However, due to limited adaptability they would induce mode mixing or/and overestimation problems in the signal processing. Particularly, the mode mixing would greatly degrade their performance on compound faults detection. To address this issue, this work presents a new method based on the empirical wavelet transform-duffing oscillator (EWTDO) for compound faults decoupling diagnosis of rolling bearings. The empirical wavelet transform (EWT) is able to extract intrinsic modes of a signal by fully adaptive wavelet basis. Hence, the mode mixing and overestimation can be resolved in decoupling processing and the compound faults can be correctly decomposed into different single faults in the form of empirical modes. Then, each single fault frequency was incorporated into a duffing oscillator to establish its corresponding fault isolator. By directly observing the chaotic motion from the Poincar mapping of the isolator outputs the single faults were identified one by one from the empirical modes. Experimental tests were carried out on a rolling bearing fault tester to examine the efficacy of the proposed EWTDO method on compound faults detection. The analysis results show attractive performance with respect to existing decoupling approaches based on the multiwavelets and EMD. In particular, our proposed method is much more reliable in decoupling the compound faults. Hence, the proposed method has practical importance in compound faults decoupling diagnosis for rolling bears.  相似文献

Partially linear models (PLMs) have been widely used in statistical modeling, where prior knowledge is often required on which variables have linear or nonlinear effects in the PLMs. In this paper, we propose a model-free structure selection method for the PLMs, which aims to discover the model structure in the PLMs through automatically identifying variables that have linear or nonlinear effects on the response. The proposed method is formulated in a framework of gradient learning, equipped with a flexible reproducing kernel Hilbert space. The resultant optimization task is solved by an efficient proximal gradient descent algorithm. More importantly, the asymptotic estimation and selection consistencies of the proposed method are established without specifying any explicit model assumption, which assure that the true model structure in the PLMs can be correctly identified with high probability. The effectiveness of the proposed method is also supported by a variety of simulated and real-life examples.

Subset selection is a critical component of vector autoregressive (VAR) modeling. This paper proposes simple and hybrid subset selection procedures for VAR models via the adaptive Lasso. By a proper choice of tuning parameters, one can identify the correct subset and obtain the asymptotic normality of the nonzero parameters with probability tending to one. Simulation results show that for small samples, a particular hybrid procedure has the best performance in terms of prediction mean squared errors, estimation errors and subset selection accuracy under various settings. The proposed method is also applied to modeling the IS-LM data for illustration.  相似文献

A novel object-oriented methodology for the design of model libraries is exemplified by means of the design of JARA. JARA is a set of libraries of dynamic hybrid models of some fundamental physical-chemical principles. Its main application field is the modeling of physical-chemical processes in the context of automatic control. Only a reduced set of phenomena has been selected for modeling, focusing mainly on illustrating relevant aspects of the proposed design methodology. The five steps of the design methodology are followed and the design rules of JARA are obtained.  相似文献

Fault detection of rotating machinery by the complex and non-stationary vibration signals with noise is very difficult, especially at the early stages. Also, many failure mechanisms and various adverse operating conditions in rotating machinery involve significant nonlinear dynamical properties. As a novel method, phase space reconstruction is used to study the effect of faults on the chaotic behavior, for the first time. Strange attractors in reconstructed phase space proof the existence of chaotic behavior. To quantify the chaotic vibration for fault diagnosis, a set of new features are extracted. These features include the largest Lyapunov exponent; approximate entropy and correlation dimension which acquire more fault characteristic information. The variations of these features for different healthy/faulty conditions are very good for fault diagnosis and identification. For the first time, a new chaotic feature space is introduced for fault detection, which is made from chaotic behavior features. In this space, different conditions of rotating machinery are separated very well. To obtain more generalized results, the features are introduced into a neural network to identify different faults in rotating machinery. The effectiveness of the new features based on chaotic vibrations is demonstrated by the experimental data sets. The proposed approach can reliably recognize different fault types and have more accurate results. Also, the performance of the new procedure is robust to the variation of load values and shows good generalization capability for various load values.  相似文献
