Very long chains of annihilator ideals

Here we examine one of the two right Goldie conditions: the ascending chain condition on right annihilator ideals, r. ACC^⊥. One might well ask if a ring has r. ACC^⊥, does there exist a bound on the lengths of chains of right annihilator ideals? Under certain additional hypotheses, this bound does exist. In general, however, a bound does not exist, as is shown by the two example presented here.     

Local bijective gabriel correspondence and relative fully boundedness in τ-noetherian rings

Let Rbe a right τ-noetherian ring, where τ denotes a hereditary torsion theory on the category of right R-modules. It is shown that every essential τ-closed right ideal of every prime homomorphic image of Rcontains a nonzero two-sided ideal if and only if any two τ-torsionfree injective indecomposable right R-modules with identical associated prime ideals are isomorphic, and for any τ-closed prime ideal Pthe annhilator of a finitely generated P-tame right R-module cannot be a prime ideal properly contained in P. Furthermore, if in the last condition finitely generated is replaced by r-noetherian, then all τ-noetherian τ-torsionfree modules turn out to be finitely annihilated.

On quaternion algebras

It is proved that the distributiveness of the right ideals lattice for a quaternion algebra over a commutative ring A is equivalent to the following property: the equation x²+y²+z²=0 is uniquely solvable in the field A/M for any maximal ideals M of A, the lattice of the ideals of A being distributive. Reflexive Property of Rings

Mason introduced the reflexive property for ideals, and then this concept was generalized by Kim and Baik, defining idempotent reflexive right ideals and rings. In this article, we characterize aspects of the reflexive and one-sided idempotent reflexive properties, showing that the concept of idempotent reflexive ring is not left-right symmetric. It is proved that a (right idempotent) reflexive ring which is not semiprime (resp., reflexive), can always be constructed from any semiprime (resp., reflexive) ring. It is also proved that the reflexive condition is Morita invariant and that the right quotient ring of a reflexive ring is reflexive. It is shown that both the polynomial ring and the power series ring over a reflexive ring are idempotent reflexive. We obtain additionally that the semiprimeness, reflexive property and one-sided idempotent reflexive property of a ring coincide for right principally quasi-Baer rings.     

Specializations of Ferrers ideals

We introduce a specialization technique in order to study monomial ideals that are generated in degree two by using our earlier results about Ferrers ideals. It allows us to describe explicitly a cellular minimal free resolution of various ideals including any strongly stable and any squarefree strongly stable ideal whose minimal generators have degree two. In particular, this shows that threshold graphs can be obtained as specializations of Ferrers graphs, which explains their similar properties.     

One sided ideals and Carlson's Theorem

Using left ideals, right ideals, and the smallest two sided ideal in a compact right topological semigroup, we derive an extension of the Main Lemma to Carlson's Theorem. This extension involves an infinite sequence of variable words over a finite alphabet, some of which are required to have the variable as the first letter and others of which are required to have the variable as the last letter.

     

Duo rings and Ore extensions

We show that in an Ore polynomial ring, every left ideal is two-sided only in the trivial commutative case. It is unknown whether the analogous statement about right ideals is true. We establish a variety of restrictions on any putative counterexample.     

Rings with divisibility on chains of ideals

We present a generalization of the ascending and descending chain condition on one-sided ideals by means of divisibility on chains. We say that a ring R satisfies ACC_d on right ideals if in every ascending chain of right ideals of R, each right ideal in the chain, except for a finite number of right ideals, is a left multiple of the following one; that is, each right ideal in the chain, except for a finite number, is divisible by the following one. We study these rings and prove some results about them. Dually, we say that a ring R satisfies DCC_d on right ideals if in every descending chain of right ideals of R, each right ideal in the chain, except for a finite number of right ideals, is divisible by the previous one. We study these conditions on rings, in general and in special cases.     

Some Characterizations of Left Weakly Regular Ordered Semigroups

In this paper, the notion of left weakly regular ordered semigroups is introduced. Furthermore, left weakly regular ordered semigroups are characterized by the properties of their left ideals, right ideals and (generalized) bi-ideals, and also by the properties of their fuzzy left ideals, fuzzy right ideals and fuzzy (generalized) bi-ideals.     

Group codes over fields are asymptotically good

Group codes are right or left ideals in a group algebra of a finite group over a finite field. Following the ideas of a paper on binary group codes by Bazzi and Mitter in 2006, we prove that group codes over finite fields of any characteristic are asymptotically good.     

A noncommutattve analog of the cohen theorem

By using weakly primary right ideals, we prove an analog of the Cohen theorem for rings of principal right ideals.     

The Krull-Schmidt Theorem in the Case Two

We study what happens if, in the Krull-Schmidt Theorem, instead of considering modules whose endomorphism rings have one maximal ideal, we consider modules whose endomorphism rings have two maximal ideals. If a ring has exactly two maximal right ideals, then the two maximal right ideals are necessarily two-sided. We call such a ring of type 2. The behavior of direct sums of finitely many modules whose endomorphism rings have type 2 is completely described by a graph whose connected components are either complete graphs or complete bipartite graphs. The vertices of the graphs are ideals in a suitable full subcategory of Mod-R. The edges are isomorphism classes of modules. The complete bipartite graphs give rise to a behavior described by a Weak Krull-Schmidt Theorem. Such a behavior had been previously studied for the classes of uniserial modules, biuniform modules, cyclically presented modules over a local ring, kernels of morphisms between indecomposable injective modules, and couniformly presented modules. All these modules have endomorphism rings that are either local or of type 2. Here we present a general theory that includes all these cases.     

Compact operator semigroups applied to dynamical systems

A right chain ordered semigroup is an ordered semigroup whose right ideals form a chain. In this paper we study the ideal theory of right chain ordered semigroups in terms of prime ideals, completely prime ideals and prime segments, extending to these semigroups results on right chain semigroups proved in Ferrero et al. (J Algebra 292:574–584, 2005).

The atomic theory of division of semiring ideals

We consider two-sided ideals of semirings. More precisely, we study the theory of two-sided ideals in the signature consisting of the predicate symbol ⊆ and two function symbols that denote the right and left division of ideals. Constancy regions of mixed multiplier ideals in two‐dimensional local rings with rational singularities

The aim of this paper is to study mixed multiplier ideals associated with a tuple of ideals in a two‐dimensional local ring with a rational singularity. We are interested in the partition of the real positive orthant given by the regions where the mixed multiplier ideals are constant. In particular we reveal which information encoded in a mixed multiplier ideal determines its corresponding jumping wall and we provide an algorithm to compute all the constancy regions, and their corresponding mixed multiplier ideals, in any desired range.
