A system of nonlinear integral equations with a convolution type operator arising in the p–adic string theory for the scalar tachyons field is studied. Polynomial approximation is studied on bounded symmetric domain Ω in C^n for holomorphic function spaces X such as Bloch-type spaces, Bergman-type spaces, Hardy spaces, Ω algebra and Lipschitz space. We extend the classical Jackson's theorem to several complex variables:Eκ(f,X)≤ω(1/k,f,X), where Eκ(f,X) is the deviation of the best approximation of f ∈X by polynomials of degree at most k with respect to the X-metric and ω(1/k,f,X) is the corresponding modulus of continuity.  相似文献

Let be a union-closed family of subsets of an m-element set A. Let . For b ∈ A let w(b) denote the number of sets in containing b minus the number of sets in not containing b. Frankl’s conjecture from 1979, also known as the union-closed sets conjecture, states that there exists an element b ∈ A with w(b) ≥ 0. The present paper deals with the average of the w(b), computed over all b ∈ A. is said to satisfy the averaged Frankl’s property if this average is non-negative. Although this much stronger property does not hold for all union-closed families, the first author (Czédli, J Comb Theory, Ser A, 2008) verified the averaged Frankl’s property whenever n ≥ 2 m  − 2 m/2 and m ≥ 3. The main result of this paper shows that (1) we cannot replace 2 m/2 with the upper integer part of 2 m /3, and (2) if Frankl’s conjecture is true (at least for m-element base sets) and then the averaged Frankl’s property holds (i.e., 2 m/2 can be replaced with the lower integer part of 2 m /3). The proof combines elementary facts from combinatorics and lattice theory. The paper is self-contained, and the reader is assumed to be familiar neither with lattices nor with combinatorics. The interior Dirichlet problem for Laplace's equation on a plane polygonal region $\Omega$ with boundary $\Gamma$ may be reformulated as a second kind integral equation on $\Gamma$. This equation may be solved by the Nyström method using the composite trapezoidal rule. It is known that if the mesh has $O(n)$ points and is graded appropriately, then $O(1/n^2)$ convergence is obtained for the solution of the integral equation and the associated solution to the Dirichlet problem at any $x\in \Omega$. We present a simple extrapolation scheme which increases these rates of convergence to $O(1/n^4)$ .  相似文献

In this article we study the principle of energy conservation for the Euler–Korteweg system. We formulate an Onsager-type sufficient regularity condition for weak solutions of the Euler–Korteweg system to conserve the total energy. We make a further advance concerning the maximum principle for second-order elliptic operators. We investigate in particular a geometric condition, first considered by Berestycki Nirenberg Varadhan, that seems to be natural in view of the application of the boundary weak Harnack inequality, on which our argument is based. Setting it free from some technical assumptions, apparently needed in earlier papers, we significantly enlarge the class of unbounded domains where the maximum principle holds, compatibly with the first-order term.  相似文献

Invariant solutions of partial differential equations are found by solving a reduced system involving one independent variable less. When the solutions are invariant with respect to the so-called projective group, the reduced system is simply the steady version of the original system. This feature enables us to generate unsteady solutions when steady solutions are known. The knowledge of an optimal system of subalgebras of the principal Lie algebra admitted by a system of differential equations provides a method of classifying H-invariant solutions as well as constructing systematically some transformations (essentially different transformations) mapping the given system to a suitable form. Here the transformations allowing to reduce the steady two-dimensional Euler equations of gas dynamics to an equivalent autonomous form are classified by means of the program SymboLie, after that an optimal system of two-dimensional subalgebras of the principal Lie algebra has been calculated. Some steady solutions of two-dimensional Euler equations are determined, and used to build unsteady solutions.  相似文献

We reveal in a rigorous mathematical way using the theory of differential forms, here viewed as sections of a Clifford bundle over a Lorentzian manifold, the true meaning of Freud’s identity of differential geometry discovered in 1939 (as a generalization of results already obtained by Einstein in 1916) and rediscovered in disguised forms by several people. We show moreover that contrary to some claims in the literature there is not a single (mathematical) inconsistency between Freud’s identity (which is a decomposition of the Einstein indexed 3-forms in two gauge dependent objects) and the field equations of General Relativity. However, as we show there is an obvious inconsistency in the way that Freud’s identity is usually applied in the formulation of energy-momentum “conservation laws” in GR. In order for this paper to be useful for a large class of readers (even those ones making a first contact with the theory of differential forms) all calculations are done with all details (disclosing some of the “tricks of the trade” of the subject).   相似文献

We present the classification of homogenized (limit) problems depending on the ratio of small parameters, which characterize the diameter of parts of the boundary with different types of boundary conditions.
