We introduce and study the relative left derived functor Torn(F,F') (-,-) in the module category, which unifies several related left derived functors. Then we give some criteria for computing the F-resolution dimensions of modules in terms of the properties of Torn(F,F') (-,-). We also construct a complete and hereditary cotorsion pair relative to balanced pairs. Some known results are obtained as corollaries.  相似文献

We investigate finite dimensional 2-vertex basic algebras of finite global dimension and the derived categories of modules over such algebras. We prove that any superrigid object in the derived category of modules over a “loop-kind” two-vertex algebra is a pure module up to the action of Serre functor and translation. All superrigid objects in the derived categories of modules over two-vertex algebras of global dimension 2 are described. Also we obtain a complete classification of two-vertex basic algebras possessing a full exceptional pair in the derived category of modules.  相似文献

We investigate the fiber of a functor F:CD between sketchable categories of algebras over an object DD from two points of view: characterizing its classifying space as a universal -space; and parametrizing its objects in cohomological terms.  相似文献

A semigroup S is called collapsing if there exists a positive integer n such that for every subset of n elements in S at least two distinct words of length n on these letters are equal in S. Let U(A) denote the group of units of an associative algebra A over an infinite field of characteristic p > 0. We show that if A is unitally generated by its nilpotent elements then the following conditions are equivalent: U(A) is collapsing; U(A) satisfies some semigroup identity; U(A) satisfies an Engel identity; A satisfies an Engel identity when viewed as a Lie algebra; and, A satisfies a Morse identity. The characteristic zero analogue of this result was proved by the author in a previous paper.  相似文献

In this paper we show that an A-module is a direct sum of a trivial module and a nosingular module, and we also give the structure of nonsingular module over infinite dimensional simple Novikov algebras of types (II) and (III) over a field F of Characteristic 0.  相似文献

We show the close connection between apparently different Galois theories for comodules introduced recently in [J. Gomez-Torrecillas and J. Vercruysse, Comatrix corings and Galois Comodules over firm rings, Algebr. Represent. Theory, 10 (2007), 271 306] and [Wisbauer, On Galois comodules, Comm. Algebra 34 (2006), 2683-2711]. Furthermore we study equivalences between categories of comodules over a coring and modules over a firm ring. We show that these equivalences are related to Galois theory for comodules.  相似文献

The calculation of the iterated loop functors and their left derived functors on the category of unstable modules over the Steenrod algebra is a non-trivial problem; Singer constructed an explicit and functorial chain complex to calculate these functors. The results of Singer are analysed to give information on the behaviour of these functors with respect to the nilpotent filtration of the category of unstable modules. We show that, if an unstable module M supports an action of an unstable algebra K, then the derived functors of the iterated loop functors applied to M support actions of iterated doubles of K. This allows the finiteness results of Henn on unstable modules which support actions of unstable algebras to be applied to deduce structural results on the derived functors of iterated loops on such modules.  相似文献

The category of small covariant functors from simplicial sets to simplicial sets supports the projective model structure [B. Chorny, W.G. Dwyer, Homotopy theory of small diagrams over large categories, preprint, 2005]. In this paper we construct various localizations of the projective model structure and also give a variant for functors from simplicial sets to spectra. We apply these model categories in the study of calculus of functors, namely for a classification of polynomial and homogeneous functors. In the n-homogeneous model structure, the nth derivative is a Quillen functor to the category of spectra with Σn-action. After taking into account only finitary functors—which may be done in two different ways—the above Quillen map becomes a Quillen equivalence. This improves the classification of finitary homogeneous functors by T.G. Goodwillie [T.G. Goodwillie, Calculus. III. Taylor series, Geom. Topol. 7 (2003) 645-711 (electronic)].  相似文献

In this note we consider different versions of coinduction functors between categories of comodules for corings induced by a morphism of corings. In particular we introduce a new version of the coinduction functor in the case oflocally projective corings as a composition of suitable “Trace” and “Hom” functors and show how to derive it from a moregeneral coinduction functor between categories of type σ[M]. In special cases (e.g. the corings morphism is part of a morphism of measuringa-pairings or the corings have the same base ring), a version of our functor is shown to be isomorphic to the usual coinduction functor obtained by means of the cotensor product. Our results in this note generalize previous results of the author on coinduction functors between categories of comodules for coalgebras over commutative base rings.  相似文献

For a coaugmented functor J on spaces, we consider J-modules and finite J-limits. The former are spaces X which are retracts of JX via the natural map. The latter are homotopy limits of J-modules arranged in diagrams whose shape is finite dimensional. Familiar examples are generalised Eilenberg MacLane spaces, which are the SP-modules. Finite SP-limits are nilpotent spaces with a very strong finiteness property. We show that the cofacial Bousfield-Kan construction of the functors Jn is universal for finite J-limits in the sense that every map XY where Y is a finite J-limit, factors through such natural map XJnX, for some n<∞.  相似文献
