We study the category of graded finite-dimensional representations of the polynomial current algebra associated to a simple Lie algebra. We prove that the category has enough injectives and compute the graded character of the injective envelopes of the simple objects as well as extensions between simple objects. The simple objects in the category are parametrized by the affine weight lattice. We show that with respect to a suitable refinement of the standard ordering on the affine weight lattice the category is highest weight. We compute the Ext quiver of the algebra of endomorphisms of the injective cogenerator of the subcategory associated to an interval closed finite subset of the weight lattice. Finally, we prove that there is a large number of interesting quivers of finite, affine and star-shaped type, as well as tame quasi-hereditary algebras, that arise from our study. 相似文献

Given a sheaf on a projective space , we define a sequence of canonical and effectively computable Chow complexes on the Grassmannians of planes in , generalizing the well-known Beilinson monad on . If the sheaf has dimension , then the Chow form of the associated -cycle is the determinant of the Chow complex on the Grassmannian of planes of codimension . Using the theory of vector bundles and the canonical nature of the complexes, we are able to give explicit determinantal and Pfaffian formulas for resultants in some cases where no polynomial formulas were known. For example, the Horrocks-Mumford bundle gives rise to a polynomial formula for the resultant of five homogeneous forms of degree eight in five variables.

Sums of Kronecker products occur naturally in high‐dimensional spline approximation problems, which arise, for example, in the numerical treatment of chemical reactions. In full matrix form, the resulting non‐sparse linear problems usually exceed the memory capacity of workstations. We present methods for the manipulation and numerical handling of Kronecker products in factorized form. Moreover, we analyze the problem of approximating a given matrix by sums of Kronecker products by making use of the equivalence to the problem of decomposing multilinear forms into sums of one‐forms. Greedy algorithms based on the maximization of multilinear forms over a torus are used to obtain such (finite and infinite) decompositions that can be used to solve the approximation problem. This is a slight extension of an expository paper I wrote a while ago as a supplement to my joint work with Declan Quinn on Burnside's theorem for Hopf algebras. It was never published, but may still be of interest to students and beginning researchers. Let K be a field, and let A be an algebra over K. Then the tensor product A ? A = A ? K A is also a K-algebra, and it is quite possible that there exists an algebra homomorphism Δ: A → A ? A. Such a map Δ is called a comultiplication, and the seemingly innocuous assumption on its existence provides A with a good deal of additional structure. For example, using Δ, one can define a tensor product on the collection of A-modules, and when A and Δ satisfy some rather mild axioms, then A is called a bialgebra. Classical examples of bialgebras include group rings K[G] and Lie algebra enveloping rings U(L). Indeed, most of this paper is devoted to a relatively self-contained study of some elementary bialgebra properties of these examples. Furthermore, Δ determines a convolution product on Hom K (A, A), and this leads quite naturally to the definition of a Hopf algebra. 相似文献
