In this paper, the security enhanced OCDMA system based on spectral encoding using code-switching scheme is analyzed. The security issues are investigated by measuring eye diagrams and received signals for various cases. It has been observed; an eavesdropper based on a simple energy detector can easily read the information being transmitted by a single user using on-off keying. In order to increase the security a code-switching scheme is implemented on OCDMA. It is shown that the eye diagram at the eavesdropper becomes true noise waveform due to code-switching scheme and at the receiver end a clear eye diagram is observed. Hence, it is concluded that the code-switching scheme shows an immunity of the OCDMA system against eavesdropping and like conventional OCDMA schemes an authorized user clearly decodes an original data when a single user is active in the network.  相似文献

Optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) is a promising operational system for future backhaul optical networks especially for switching and optical signal multiplexing. However, OCDMA operation is restricted by multiple access interference (MAI) due to the asynchronous nature of transmission. In this study, we discuss an efficient MAI technique for OCDMA systems that depends not only on using hybrid frequency shift keying (FSK) modulation but also on employing the double padded modified prime code (DPMPC) as a signature sequence. MAI cancellation is performed by subtracting a reference signal from the received signal of the desired user. The simulation results show that the performance of the FSK-OCDMA technique is superior to the performance of the PPM-OCDMA technique. Furthermore, the obtained results illustrate that the FSK-OCDMA technique is able to accommodate a large number of simultaneous active users with low error-rate.  相似文献

A novel approach for improving the number of simultaneous users in a hybrid OCDMA-OTDMA network is proposed and analysed. OCDMA system is based on two-dimensional wavelength-hopping time-spreading codes with multi-wavelengths picosecond carriers. The scalability increase was achieved by adding a third dimension to separate OCDMA user groups within OTDMA time slots by assigning them into different wavelength bands. We have shown this will scale-up the system capacity proportionally to the number of assigned wavelength bands. A self-clocking all-optical time gate was then demonstrated as an effective means for suppressing the growing detrimental multi access interference noise resulted from this capacity increase.  相似文献

An encoding/decoding scheme of multi-channel optical code-division multiple-access (OCDMA) system using sampled fiber Bragg gratings (SFBGs) is proposed and numerically investigated. A multiple-phase-shift (MPS) technique based SFBG is first developed as a dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) device to accommodated multiple channels. The OCDMA scheme is achieved through phase coding/encoding on each individual channel of the SFBG and the auto correlative ratio for each user is larger than 14.3 dB. The whole system exhibits enhanced performance in terms of the capacity and security since the OCDMA technique is simultaneously implemented for all channels using the single SFBG.  相似文献

分析了一种混合WDMA OCDMA系统的性能,该系统将可用带宽划分成两部分,一部分用于OCDMA用户,另一部分用于WDMA用户。当可用带宽在WDMA与OCDMA之间不同的分配情况下,研究了该混合系统的总用户数和频谱效率。分析结果表明,在要求的误比特率条件下,随着OCDMA系统占用波长信道数目的增加,WDMA OCDMA混合系统的总用户数将增加,而系统的频谱效率将急剧下降。  相似文献

A new distribution scheme of decryption keys used in optical verification systems is proposed. The encryption procedure is digitally implemented with the use of an iteration algorithm in computer. Three target images corresponding to three wavelengths are encoded into three sets of phase-only masks (POMs) by a special distributing method. These three sets of POMs are assigned to three authorized users as the personal identification. A lensless optical system is used as the verification system. In the verification procedure, every two of the three authorized users can pass the verification procedure cooperatively, but only one user cannot do. Numerical simulation shows that the proposed distribution scheme of decryption keys not only can improve the security level of verification system, but also can bring convenience and flexibility for authorized users.  相似文献

采用最大似然准则,研究了多波长光码分多址接收机的最佳判决门限值.通过检测信道的光信号能量,接收端估计出信道的并发用户数,并通过最大似然准则得到了最佳判决门限值与并发用户数、码字参量的变化关系.当并发用户数超过一定值后,最佳判决门限值将随并发用户数量变化,相应地改变接收机的判决门限值.根据最佳判决门限值,得到了多波长光码分多址系统误码率与并发用户数的关系.理论分析和模拟结果表明,采用最大似然准则得到的最佳判决门限值,MW OCDMA系统的误码率将明显降低.  相似文献

Rate adaptation is a technique that enables the selection of the most suitable error-correction coding rate according to the real-time channel quality, therefore increasing the overall throughput. We propose the use of rate adaptive convolutional codes for amplitude encoded, binary on–off keyed optical code-division multiple access (OCDMA) systems. Conventional OCDMA systems have a bit error probability floor due to optical multiple-user interference (OMUI). A convolutional coded OCDMA system (CC-OCDMA) lowers the error floors with increased coding rates but at the expense of reduced goodput (throughput minus the redundancy bits or symbols). However, by exploiting the variation of OMUI with user number, it is shown here that rate adaptation offers larger and consistent goodput improvements compared to fixed coding rate CC-OCDMA systems for various traffic profiles. This advantage is also observed in comparisons with OCDMA systems using improved receiver designs and 2D wavelength/time signatures codes. Based on the analytical results obtained here and the commercial availability of convolutional coding chipsets, rate-adaptive convolutional coding for OCDMA systems is worth to be considered for practical implementation.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a simple divided spectrum balanced detection (DSBD) for spectral amplitude coding (SAC) optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) systems. SAC OCDMA systems are limited by phase induced intensity noise (PIIN), which is a signal dependent source of noise. Our proposed technique reduces the PIIN by dividing the spectrum of the signal into two or more, and detecting each spectrum by a different photodiode. The DSBD scheme reduces the detected optical power at photodetection, thus resulting in a higher mitigation of the PIIN. Theoretical results show that DSBD demonstrate noticeable improvement over traditional balanced detection technique, for example an up to 33% increase in the number of active users can be achieved, and at least 1 × 10−3 b/s Hz increase in the spectral efficiency is obtained. However, the SDBD is more complex and append more constrains on system components.  相似文献

提出了一种多波长OCDMA(MW OCDMA)系统的光解码器方案,通过多个光硬限幅器来抑制多用户干扰.分析了使用该解码器的MW OCDMA误码率性能、频谱效率和归一化吞吐量性能.分析结果表明,该方案能有效改善MW OCDMA系统的误码率性能,在要求的误码率条件下增加同时用户数,从而能有效改善MW OCDMA系统的频谱效率.同时,采用光硬限幅器的MW OCDMA 系统的归一化吞吐量性能明显提高,特别是归一化吞吐量峰值提高了约一倍.  相似文献

提出了二维光正交码 (2D OOC)设计方案 ,围绕光码分多址 (OCDMA)技术实用化的两个主要指标—最大并发用户数和系统误码率的改进和提高 ,系统地研究了基于 2D OOC的OCDMA的性能 ,分析了 2D OOC码字的相关性 ,导出了系统的最大用户容量 ,详细研究了 2D OOC系统以多址干扰为主的系统误码率 .研究表明 :较之一维时域扩频码或一维谱域扩频码 ,2D OOC系统性能大大提高 ,在大信息量传输时 ,适当选择码长和码重 ,系统总容量可高达Tbits/s量级 ,性能优于基于 1D OOC的OWDM和OCDMA混合系统 .  相似文献

We designed, built, and demonstrated a highly scalable incoherent optical CDMA platform under DARPA contract which was delivered to Lockheed Martin for additional testing in avionic applications. The platform enables users to communicate with each other at ∼1.25 Gbit/s per user with raw BER of less than 10−12. The system architecture uses (3, 11) fast wavelength-hopping, time-spreading prime codes with a chip size of 73 ps utilizing picosecond optical pulses allocated in the time and wavelength domains. A novel design of a “dual code” optical encoder and decoder realized a novel optical layer implementation of an XOR gate and enabled secure network connectivity using a “One-time pad” encryption approach. The testbed is also designed to conduct eavesdropping studies on testbed users. The incoherent OCDMA approach is compatible with existing DWDM optical networks and uses off-the-shelf components.  相似文献

We present the theoretical analysis and simulation of an encoder/decoder pair with applications in Optical Code Division Multiple Access (OCDMA) systems. The theory and simulations presented are valid for any technique that relies on the combination of dispersion/phase modulation/dispersion for spectral phase encoding. We perform a theoretical study of the system, characterizing its main limiting factors, and a comparative study of the Multi-Access Interference (MAI) and Bit Error Rate (BER) for a simple multi-user system at high-bit rate in a Passive Optical Network (PON) environment. The capacity of the system to carry out error-free operation for codes of different length and with different numbers of users is also demonstrated through simulation.  相似文献

首次在有限伽罗瓦域GF(7)上以本原元3构造出RS地址序列码.在一维RS素数码的基础上,给出基于二素数的二维RS矩阵码(2D-RSC)的设计方案.系统地研究了2D-RSC的OCDMA系统总体性能:分析了2D-RSC码字的相关性;导出了系统的最大用户容量;研究了2D-RSC系统以多址干扰为主的误码性能.结果表明:2D-RSC系统性能较之一维RS码有明显的改进. 特别是在大信息量传输时,采用两个较大的素数,基于2D-RSC的OCDMA系统的总体性能远优于一维素数码.  相似文献

Optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) can enhance the physical-layer security performance of optical fiber communication systems. In asynchronous coherent time-spreading OCDMA employing m sequence and Gold code, the reliability, capacity and physical-layer security of the system will degrade due to multiple access interference and beat noise. In order to enhance the physical-layer security and reliability of coherent OCDMA systems, a quasi-synchronous coherent time-spreading OCDMA wiretap channel is proposed in this paper. The influences of the extraction location, the extraction ratio, the number of active users on the physical-layer security are analyzed quantitatively. System performances are characterized by bit error rate, secrecy capacity as well as security leakage factor. The numerical results prove that the proposed scheme can improve the physical-layer security and reliability simultaneously.  相似文献

利用布拉格光栅阵列,实现了在波长和时问上的素数跳频码的编解码。利用该编解码器,完成了在两个发送用户和一个接收用户的条件下,传输速率从20Mb/s到1.4Gb/s的光码分多址通信系统。研究了当系统传输速率超过相邻布拉格光栅间距限制条件时,系统的性能变化情况。结果表明当用户数不超过(3/2)Ps(素数跳频码的扩展因子)时,速率超限对系统性能基本无影响。在同样误码率要求条件下,地址码较长的系统,传输速率可以达到限制速率的2~3倍而不会造成明显的系统性能下降。这表明相邻布拉格光栅间距条件所限制的系统速率并非不可逾越的。  相似文献

In this paper, two-dimensional (2D) wavelength/time codes are designed and implemented. The 2D codes are constructed by a technique based on folding of Golomb rulers. The performance evaluation of OCDMA system based on wavelength/time code has been analyzed by measuring the values of bit error rates and eye diagrams for different number of active users. It is shown that eye opening decreases and BER increases with increase in number of active users. It is also shown that BER further increases with increase in number of active users when number of decoders increases on receiver side. Hence, it is concluded that multiple access interference (MAI) is the dominant source of BER and there is graceful degradation in system performance when number of simultaneously active users increases. The received optical power is also measured at different transmission distance. It has been observed that received optical power decreases with increase in length of fiber due to attenuation.  相似文献

In this paper, an optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) system was analysed to improve the bit error rate (BER) performance at 10 Gbps. The improvements to this system were based on a modified double weight code and a NAND subtraction technique and aimed to support the large number of active users in the fibre-to-the-home network. The system performance was investigated through extensive theoretical and numerical simulation analyses. The theoretical and simulation results revealed that the new detection technique exhibits improved BER performance compared to conventional techniques, such as complimentary subtraction techniques. The system performance was characterised by the signal-to-noise ratio, the bit error rate (BER), and various transmit powers ( $P_{sr} - 10$  dBm). The results show that the proposed system, which is based on a new detection technique, can achieve the optimal BER with a high number of users and maintains the error floor transmission rate $(\le 10^{-9})$ .  相似文献
