Poly(m-toluidine) (PmT), a derivative of polyaniline, has been prepared by chemical oxidation polymerization method. The synthesized PmT powder is blended with plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to achieve 20 μm thick self-supported films. These films were irradiated with 60 MeV Si5+ ions at three different fluences whose S e (electronic energy loss) value is found to be 1.988×103 KeV/μ m, an order of magnitude larger than 60 MeV C5+ (2.958×102 KeV/μ m). Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and ultraviolet-visible (UV) absorption studies of pre- and post-irradiated films of PmT–PVC blends were carried out to study the heavy ion irradiation effects on these polymer blends. An overall change in the structure of the polymer blend has been observed from FTIR studies. UV-visible spectra show a decrease in the optical band gap (E g) and an increase in cluster size with increasing fluence. An effort is made to compare these results with our earlier studies. We found that the variation in S e plays an important role in the structural and optical properties of PmT–PVC blends.  相似文献

Highly luminescent complexes of Eu and Tb ions with norfloxacin (NFLX) and gatifloxacin (GFLX) were prepared in sol–gel matrix. The red and green emissions of Eu and Tb ions were obtained by the energy transfer from the triplet state of (NFLX) and (GFLX) to the excited emitting states (5D0 and 5D4) of Eu and Tb, respectively. The intensity of the electric field emission bands (5D07F2, 617 nm and 5D47F5, 545 nm) of Eu and Tb ions were proportional to the concentration of (NFLX at pH 6.0) and (GFLX at pH 3.5) in acetonitrile with excitation wavelengths (λex) (340 and 395) and (370 and 350 nm) for Eu and Tb ions, respectively. The monitored luminescence intensity of the system showed a good linear relationship with the concentration of NFLX within a range of 5×10?9–5.8×10?6 and 5×10?8–1.0×10?6 mol L?1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.990, and for GFLX within a range of 2.4×10?9–3.2×10?5 and 5×10?8–8.0×10?6 mol L?1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.995. The detection limit (LOD) was determined as 3.0×10?9 and 1.0×10?8 mol L?1 for NFLX and 1.6×10?10 and 2.0×10?8mol L?1 for GFLX. The limit of quantification (LOQ) is 9×10?9 and 3.0×10?8 and 4.8×10?10 and 6.0×10?8 in case of Eu and Tb, respectively.  相似文献

The mixed alkali borate xNa2O–(30−x)K2O–70B2O3 (5≤x≤25) glasses doped with 1 mol% of manganese ions were investigated using EPR and optical absorption techniques as a function of alkali content to look for ‘mixed alkali effect’ (MAE) on the spectral properties of the glasses. The EPR spectra of all the investigated samples exhibit resonance signals which are characteristic of the Mn2+ ions. The resonance signal at g≅2.02 exhibits a six line hyperfine structure. In addition to this, a prominent peak with g≅4.64, with a shoulder around g≅4.05 and 2.98, was also observed. From the observed EPR spectrum, the spin-Hamiltonian parameters g and A have been evaluated. It is interesting to note that some of the EPR parameters do show MAE. It is found that the ionic character increases with x and reaches a maximum around x=20 and thereafter it decreases showing the MAE. The number of spins participating in resonance (N) at g≅2.02 decreases with x and reaches a minimum around x=20 and thereafter it increases showing the MAE. It is also observed that the zero-field splitting parameter (D) increases with x, reaches a maximum around x=15 and thereafter decreases showing the MAE. The optical absorption spectrum exhibits a broad band around ∼20,000 cm−1 which has been assigned to the transition 6A1g(S)→4T1g(G). From ultraviolet absorption edges, the optical bandgap energies and Urbach energies were evaluated. It is interesting to note that the Urbach energies for these glasses decrease with x and reach a minimum around x=15. The optical band gaps obtained in the present work lie in the range 3.28–3.40 eV for both the direct and indirect transitions. The physical parameters of all the glasses were also evaluated with respect to the composition.  相似文献
