This paper is concerned with the following second-order vector boundary value problem :x^R=f(t,Sx,x,x'),0〈t〈1,x(0)=A,g(x(1),x'(1))=B,where x,f,g,A and B are n-vectors. Under appropriate assumptions,existence and uniqueness of solutions are obtained by using upper and lower solutions method.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the matrix equation X + A*X −1 A + B*X −1 B = I, where A, B are square matrices, and obtain some conditions for the existence of the positive definite solution of this equation. Two iterative algorithms to find the positive definite solution are given. Some numerical results are reported to illustrate the effectiveness of the algorithms. The lattice of idempotent distributive semiring varieties   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
A solution is given for the word problem for free idempotent distributive semirings. Using this solution the latticeL (ID) of subvarieties of the variety ID of idempotent distributive semirings is determined. It turns out thatL (ID) is isomorphic to the direct product of a four-element lattice and a lattice which is itself a subdirect product of four copies of the latticeL(B) of all band varieties. ThereforeL(ID) is countably infinite and distributive. Every subvariety of ID is finitely based. Abstract As a generalization of power series rings, Ribenboim introduced the notion of the rings of generalized power series. Let R be a commutative ring, and (S, ≤) a strictly totally ordered monoid. We prove that (1) the ring [[R S,≤]] of generalized power series is a PP-ring if and only if R is a PP-ring and every S-indexed subset C of B(R) (the set of all idempotents of R) has a least upper bound in B(R) and (2) if (S, ≤) also satisfies the condition that 0 ≤s for any sS, then the ring [[R S,≤ ]] is weakly PP if and only if R is weakly PP. We obtain an estimate of the upper bound for Kolmogorov's ε-entropy for the bounded sets with small "tail" in discrete spaces, then we present a sufficient condition for the existence of a global attractor for dissipative lattice systems in a reflexive Banach discrete space and establish an upper bound of Kolmogorov's ε-entropy of the global attractor for lattice systems.  相似文献

Let G be an abelian group, B the G-graded λ-Hopf algebra with A being a bicharacter on G. By introducing some new twisted algebras (coalgebras), we investigate the basic properties of the graded antipode and the structure for B. We also prove that a G-graded λ-Hopf algebra can be embedded in a usual Hopf algebra. As an application, it is given that if G is a finite abelian group then the graded antipode of a finite dimensional G-graded A-Hopf algebra is invertible.  相似文献

This paper defines a pairing of two finite Hopf C^*-algebras A and B, and investigates the interactions between them. If the pairing is non-degenerate, then the quantum double construction is given. This construction yields a new finite Hopf C^*-algebra D(A, B). The canonical embedding maps of A and B into the double are both isometric.  相似文献

An algebra A is said to be a congruence-preserving extension of a subalgebra B if the mapping from the congruence lattice of B to that of A, assigning to each congruence relation β on B the minimal congruence relation on A containing β, is an isomorphism. We give a necessary and sufficient condition on the congruence lattice of a subdirect product B of finitely many algebras in a congruence-distributive variety that the full direct product be a congruence-preserving extension of B. In this paper we define a degenerateC F-set in PG (2,q 2) as the set of points of intersection of corresponding lines under a suitable collineation between two pencils of lines with vertices two distinct pointsA andB mapping the lineAB onto itself. We completely determine the smooth and palindromic Schubert varieties in affine Grassmannians, in all Lie types. We show that an affine Schubert variety is smooth if and only if it is a closed parabolic orbit. In particular, there are only finitely many smooth affine Schubert varieties in a given Lie type. An affine Schubert variety is palindromic if and only if it is a closed parabolic orbit, a chain, one of an infinite family of “spiral” varieties in type A, or a certain 9-dimensional singular variety in type B 3. In particular, except in type A there are only finitely many palindromic affine Schubert varieties in a fixed Lie type. Moreover, in types D and E an affine Schubert variety is smooth if and only if it is palindromic; in all other types there are singular palindromics. The proofs are for the most part combinatorial. The main tool is a variant of Mozes’ numbers game, which we use to analyze the Bruhat order on the coroot lattice. In the proof of the smoothness theorem we also use Chevalley’s cup product formula.  相似文献

Abstract Under the Lipschitz assumption and square integrable assumption on g, the author proves that Jensen’s inequality holds for backward stochastic differential equations with generator g if and only if g is independent of y, g(t, 0) ≡ 0 and g is super homogeneous with respect to z. C. Radoux (J. Comput. Appl. Math., 115 (2000) 471-477) obtained a computational formula of Hankel determinants on some classical combinatorial sequences such as Catalan numbers and polynomials, Bell polynomials, Hermite polynomials, Derangement polynomials etc. From a pair of matrices this paper introduces two kinds of numbers. Using the first kind of numbers we give a unified treatment of Hankel determinants on those sequences, i.e., to consider a general representation of Hankel matrices on the first kind of numbers. It is interesting that the Hankel determinant of the first kind of numbers has a close relation that of the second kind of numbers.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish the existence of a global attractor for a coupled κ-dimensional lattice dynamical system governed by a discrete version of the Klein-Gordon-SchrSdinger Equation. An estimate of the upper bound of the Kohnogorov ε-entropy of the global attractor is made by a method of element decomposition and the covering property of a polyhedron by balls of radii ε in a finite dimensional space. Finally, a scheme to approximate the global attractor by the global attractors of finite-dimensional ordinary differential systems is presented .  相似文献
