A transported probability density function (PDF) approach closed at the joint scalar level is used to model the bluff body stabilized turbulent diffusion flame (HM1) investigated experimentally by Masri and co-workers (Re = 15,800). The current effort extends previous work through the introduction of comprehensive thermochemistry computed via a systematically reduced C/H/N/O mechanism featuring 300 reactions, 20 solved, and 28 steady-state species. Molecular mixing is modelled using the modified Curl’s model. The current computations have been performed via a hybrid Monte Carlo/Finite Volume algorithm. The joint scalar PDF equations are solved using moving particles in a Lagrangian framework, and the velocity field is closed at the second moment level. The redistribution terms are modelled using the Generalized Langevin Model of Haworth and Pope. The principal aim was to investigate the thermochemical effects, and thus a steady-state calculation procedure is adopted. The computations are shown to reproduce experimental mean and rms values of velocities, temperature, mixture, and species mass fractions. In particular, mass fractions of CO and NO are well predicted. Conditional PDFs are also well reproduced although uncertainties in boundary conditions influence results close to the bluff body.  相似文献

This Letter aims at understanding the dynamical process that leads to the onset of chaos in the flow past a blunt-based axisymmetric bluff body. On the basis of direct numerical simulations, conducted for Reynolds numbers ranging from 100 to 900, we show that the flow undergoes multiple transitions, successively giving rise to the SS, RSPaRSPa, RSPbRSPb, RSPcRSPc and RSB wake states. In particular, the RSPcRSPc state, revealed in this work via long-term computations, is characterized by intermittent vortex stretching denoting the onset of chaos before the symmetry breaking and the occurrence of the RSB state.  相似文献

Recently, plastic products in air-intake parts of automotive engines have become very popular due to advantages that include reduced weight, constricted cost, and lower intake air temperature. However, flow-induced noise in air-intake parts becomes a more serious problem for plastic intake-manifolds than for conventional aluminum-made manifolds. This is due to the fact that plastic manifolds transmit more noise owing to their lower material density. Internal aerodynamic noise from a quick-opening throttle valve is computed by using a frequency-domain acoustic analogy, which is based on the integral formula derived by using the General Green Function, Lighthill’s acoustic analogy and Curle’s extension of Lighthill’s. The integral formula is arranged in such a manner that allows a frequency-domain acoustic signal to be predicted at any location in a duct through the use of unsteady flow data in space and time, which can be obtained by applying Computational Fluid Dynamics techniques. The prediction of the acoustic pressure level from the quick-opening throttle valve shows good agreement with actual measurement. Through the detailed analysis of the flow-noise generation mechanism it was found that the anti-vortex lines, formed behind the throttle valve during the quick-opening behavior, feed the large-scale coherent turbulence and, as a result, play a crucial role in generating the dipolar sound from unsteady loading of the quick-opening throttle valve. From this, it can be inferred that the low-noise design of the throttle-duct system can be made by using this concept to break the large-scale vortex structure.  相似文献

In this work, an experimental study about the influence of some geometric features on the aeroacoustic behaviour of a squirrel-cage fan, used in automotive air conditioning units, has been carried out. The study focused on the effect of both the shape and the position of the volute tongue on the noise generated by the fan. Different geometric configurations were tested in order to compare the results. First of all, the performance curves were measured in a standardized test facility. Then, the acoustic behaviour of the fan was characterized by means of acoustic pressure measurements near the fan inlet. The comparison of the test results indicated a great dependence of both the shape and the position of the volute tongue and the noise generation. In particular, some geometric configurations of the volute tongue were able to reduce the fan noise generation without reducing the fan operating range.  相似文献

The effect of traffic composition on the noise pollution has been investigated in a small city Erzurum, located in eastern Turkey, where the population is about 400,000. Manual noise measurements and vehicle counts were performed at the four heaviest traffic points in the city for a period of 12 h. Using the information on vehicle composition and the maximum legal noise emissions of each type of vehicles, two prediction models based on genetic algorithms have been developed that can be used as tools for in-city traffic flow redesign. The models have been validated against some of the noise data. Measured traffic noise levels have been compared with predictions using the new models and some existing ones and a relatively good agreement has been obtained between them.  相似文献

Using data present in the literature from wind tunnel testing of semi-infinite and infinite rectangular bluff bodies at angle of attack, we develop a simple relation to predict the range of angles of attack where the lift remains approximately constant. This prediction is useful for researchers attempting to develop simplified models of the forces on rectangular bluff bodies. Additionally, prior work has shown that this region of the lift curve is characterized by complex three-dimensional flow, which has consequences for computational simulations.  相似文献

A street categorization method to study urban noise was tested by comparing its results and predictive capacity with those of a reference method – the standard grid method (mentioned in the ISO 1996 standard). To this end, two independent noise surveys were carried out simultaneously in the city of Cáceres (Spain), each using one of these two methods. In a first step, the overall values of each procedure were obtained and the differences analyzed. Then, to analyze the predictive capacity of the categorization method, the two noise maps were constructed, and their predicted values (the noise levels of the squares of the grid for the grid method, and of the categories for the categorization method) were compared with the data of the other procedure used as control.It was found that the categorization method yielded similar results for the overall analysis of the city to those obtained with the value of the points of the grid method with considerably fewer sampling points.The categorization method also seems to be a more suitable predictor for new measurements, particularly for levels in the noisiest streets of the town.  相似文献

采用振动与噪声转化的方法计算气体流经阀门产生的管内气动噪声。通过推导管壁振动与管内噪声的计算公式,建立了管壁振动加速度级与管内噪声级之间的转换损失数理模型,并在低频区域,通过修正的频率因子,扩展了转换损失适用的频率范围,实现了通过阀门管内气动噪声的无损伤预测。利用实验对计算模型和方法进行了验证,结果表明,预测总声级的最大误差为0.98%,在整个频域内大约有69.3%78.3%的数据预测误差在±5 dB以内,因而具有较高的精度,为阀门气动噪声的计算和分析提供了新的方法。  相似文献

在项目开发前期通过优化电驱动桥扭矩特性的设计,可以规避噪声大问题。根据电驱动桥台架在对应扭矩下的振动噪声特性,提出了一套稳定高效的测试流程和分析方法。首先设计了一套完整的试验流程,制定了精准的数据分析方法。然后绘制出能够全面反映电驱动桥振动噪声特性的等高图。最后利用电驱动桥台架的振动噪声等高图,准确评估电驱动桥加速工况下振动噪声风险,为主机厂和电驱动桥零部件企业提供电驱动桥扭矩特性设计前期指导。利用该方法成功识别到某电驱动桥匀速及加速工况下电机及齿轮的啸叫问题。通过优化电驱动桥扭矩特性设计,电机48阶噪声峰值降低了8.5dB(A),确认该方法准确可靠,具备推广应用价值。  相似文献

钝体是目前各种工程中广泛应用的一种结构.钝体绕流的尾迹涡动力学也是经典的流体力学研究对象之一.本文通过直接数值模拟,针对低雷诺数下各种钝体结构的不可压缩绕流,当形成三维尾迹时,研究具有特定符号的涡量分布特征.通过分析两类钝体结构,基本的直柱体和受到几何扰动的柱体,总结并得到了更为广泛适用的涡量符号律.通过对比并分析这两类钝体结构,结合理论证明的结果,进一步厘清了对产生涡量符号律的这两类钝体结构之间的内在物理关联,即引起自然失稳的小扰动在惯性力作用下产生的表面涡量只能向下游演化发展,而几何扰动则根据扰动位置,产生的表面涡量可以向扰动上游或下游演化发展.从而可以推测所有钝体结构尾迹中的各种型式的涡脱落模态,从涡量符号律的演化角度来看,实际上是一致的,都是起源于壁面产生特定符号组合规律的∏型涡.  相似文献

本描述了多路噪声测量系统的建立,该系统是一以微机为中心的数字化系统,可实现对4路稳态宽带噪声的测量,测量参数是线性声压级和倍频带声压级。系统由微机、TMS320C30板、多路AD板、传感器、放大器等设备构成硬件系统,并通过编制C30板嵌入式软件和微机主控程序实现系统功能。在软件编制中结合数字信号处理技术,并结合硬件特性优化程序设计,本系统测量方法简易,快捷和精度高,在噪声测量领域具有较高实用价值  相似文献

This study analyzes and investigates the impact of traffic noise on the high-rise building and surrounding area by the side of a new motorway that links Bangkok to the new Suwannaphum International Airport and Pattaya. A traffic noise simulation model in 3D form is applied on a GIS system. Visualized noise levels are formulated in vectored contours for noise mapping on all surfaces of the building and surrounding ground in a 3D platform. Noise impact is then investigated based on this 3D noise mapping in LAeq,1 h noise contours. The investigation shows that there is a high traffic noise impact on the foreground and front façade of the building, rendering this area unsuitable for residential purposes. The ground area by the sides of the building and the building side panels receive a lower noise impact. Most of these areas are still not acceptable for residential use; however, all of the side panels and most of the ground area by the sides of the building can be used for commercial and business purposes. The back yard and back panel, together with the rooftop, have the lowest traffic noise impact. They are the safest places for use as residential areas, except for a small strip along the front edge of the rooftop. From this study, residential areas that are sensitive to noise impact must be located far away from the front façade and side panels of a building. It is also shows that the building height is not an effective means of reducing motorway noise on the upper part of the building.  相似文献

In magneto-optical Kerr measurements of the Barkhausen noise, a magnetization jump ΔM due to a domain reversal produces a variation ΔI of the intensity of a laser beam reflected by the sample, which is the physical quantity actually measured. Due to the non-uniform beam intensity profile, the magnitude of ΔI depends both on ΔM and on its position on the laser spot. This could distort the statistical distribution pI) of the measured ΔI with respect to the true distribution pM) of the magnetization jumps ΔM. In this work the exact relationship between the two distributions is derived in a general form, which will be applied to some possible beam profiles. It will be shown that in most cases the usual Gaussian beam produces a negligible statistical distortion. Moreover, for small ΔI the noise of the experimental setup can also distort the statistical distribution pI), by erroneously rejecting small ΔI as noise. This effect has been calculated for white noise, and it will be shown that it is relatively small but not totally negligible as the measured ΔI approaches the detection limit.  相似文献

A highway traffic noise prediction model has been developed for environmental assessment in South Korea. The model is based on an outdoor sound propagation method and is fully compliant with ISO 9613 and the sound power level (PWL) estimation for a road segment, as suggested in the ASJ Model-1998 that is based on PWLs. Due to that model’s selection of two pavement types, such as asphalt or concrete pavement, an unacceptable traffic noise prediction is made in cases where the road surface is different from that on which the model is based. In order to address this problem, several road surface types are categorized, and the PWL of each surface type is determined and modeled by measuring the noise levels obtained from newly developed methods. An evaluation of the traffic noise prediction model using field measurements finds good agreement between predicted and measured noise levels.  相似文献

A novel immersed boundary (IB) method has been developed for simulating multi-material heat transfer problem – a cylinder in a channel heated from below with mixed convection. The method is based on a second-order velocity/scalar reconstruction near the IB. A novel algorithm has been developed for the IB method to handle conjugate heat transfer. The fluid–solid interface is constructed as a collection of disjoint faces of control volumes associated to different material zones. Coupling conditions for the material zones have been developed such that continuity and conservation of the scalar flux are satisfied by a second-order interpolation. Predictions of the local Nusselt number on the cylinder surface show good agreement with the experimental data. The effect of the Boussinesq approximation on this problem was also investigated. Comparison with the variable density formulation suggests that, in spite of a small thermal expansion coefficient of water, the variable density formulation in a transitional flow with mixed convection is preferable.  相似文献

This paper presents a video encoding method in which noise is encoded using a novel parametric model representing spectral envelope and spatial distribution of energy. The proposed method has been experimentally assessed using video test sequences in a practical setup consisting of a simple, real-time noise reduction technique and High Efficiency Video Codec (HEVC). The attained results show that the use of the proposed parametric modelling of noise can improve the subjective quality of reconstructed video by approximately 1.8 Mean Opinion Scope (MOS) points (in 11-point scale) related to the classical video coding. Moreover, the present work confirms results attained in the previous works that the usage of even sole noise reduction prior to the encoding provides quality increase.  相似文献
