Noise exposure of workers in industrial halls is mainly induced by noisy machines whose acoustical features are often globally known by Sound Pressure Level. The evaluation of the directivity of these noise sources can help to anticipate specific solutions for noise reduction.This study shows how the directivities of three wood-working machines have been characterized. Some characterisations have been achieved with a simple and fast acoustical intensity mapping which meets the constraints of industrial areas.When source directivity is evaluated, its influence on the noise field in industrial halls can be assessed. Some simulations and some experiments allowed the estimation of the noise field induced in workshops by both directional and omnidirectional sources. Comparison of the fields prove that the noise distribution is influenced by the source directivity if the halls are empty. As soon as the halls contain scattering objects, the directivity effect is reduced a lot and the noise field remains nearly the same far from the source whatever source used. Nevertheless, workers close to a machine are exposed to noise according to their position with respect to the machine. Exposure at the workplace can vary from 4 to 8 dB(A) according to the directivity of machines such as those measured in the trials.  相似文献

理论探讨了水下目标受海面环境噪声场激发产生的散射场对海洋环境噪声场的扰动特性,基于幅度高斯型相关海面噪声源模型,利用任意声源分布声场的积分表达式和单极子源半无限空间格林函数的球面波展开式,获得了刚性球目标在海面单极子和偶极子源海洋环境噪声“照射”下的直达噪声场、散射噪声场、总噪声场,以及二接收点直达、散射和总噪声协方差的理论表达式,表明总噪声场除了和目标阻抗特性、接收点的方向有关外,还受到海面噪声源相关特性,以及直达与散射噪声场之间干涉的较大影响。数值计算结果给出较近距离范围内,刚球目标声学可见度约为4~5dB,并指出在海洋环境噪声场中,刚球目标散射的方向特性明显不同于平面波入射。   相似文献

This study relates to the acoustic imaging of noise sources that are distributed and strongly directional, such as in turbulent jets. The goal is to generate high-resolution noise source maps with self-consistency, i.e., their integration over the extent of the noise source region gives the far-field pressure auto-spectrum for a particular emission direction. Self-consistency is possible by including a directivity factor in the formulation of the source cross-spectral density. The resulting source distribution is based on the complex coherence, rather than the cross-spectrum, of the measured acoustic field. For jet noise, whose spectral nature changes with emission angle, it is necessary to conduct the measurements with a narrow-aperture array. Three coherence-based imaging methods were applied to a Mach 0.9 turbulent jet: delay-and-sum beamforming; deconvolution of the beamformer output; and direct spectral estimation that relies on minimizing the difference between the measured and modeled coherences of the acoustic field. The delay-and-sum beamforming generates noise source maps with strong spatial distortions and sidelobes. Deconvolution leads to a five-fold improvement in spatial resolution and significantly reduces the intensity of the sidelobes. The direct spectral estimation produces maps very similar to those obtained by deconvolution. The coherence-based noise source maps, obtained by deconvolution or direct spectral estimation, are similar at small and large observation angles relative to the jet axis.  相似文献

A new method termed Directive Line Source Model (DLSM) is presented for predicting the diffracted field produced by a sound wave incident on a rigid or pressure release half plane. In the new method the edge of the half plane is modeled as an infinite set of directive point sources continuously distributed along the edge. Because DLSM is fast, simple and intuitive, it is a promising tool for the study of diffraction. It can be applied for several types of incident radiation: omnidirectional cylindrical and spherical waves, plane waves, as well as waves from directional sources. Wedges may also be treated. Finally, DLSM can handle diffraction by an arbitrarily shaped edge profile, for example, a half plane having an edge that is jagged instead of straight. Results for plane, cylindrical and spherical incident waves, as well as for arrays of line and point sources, are presented and their agreement with known analytical solutions is demonstrated. Predictions based on DLSM compare favorably with experimental data.  相似文献

Simulation programs may be useful tools for controlling an environmental noise. The computer simulation program PROP11 that enables predictions of the time-average sound level within an urban system is used here. A roadway as a noise source is represented by a sum of the sound exposures due to individual vehicle pass-bys. Different representations of equivalent point sources for various classes of vehicles are allowed including directivity characteristics other than omnidirectional. Propagation throughout an urban system contains multi-reflections from the walls and single and double diffraction at their edges. In this paper, the PROP11 program is used to predict the sound level between opposing façades of buildings in a canyon street. A multi-lane road is assumed to contain two classes of vehicles (light and heavy) ones. The equivalent source representing vehicles is defined by the source power spectrum, its position above the ground and directivity characteristics. The consequences of introducing equivalent source directivity are analyzed.  相似文献

Based on the analysis of active noise control system with multi-channel monopole secondary sources, a kind of compound secondary source is proposed in this paper. The proposed compound secondary source consists of two closely located monopole sources with their distance much smaller than a wavelength. The characteristics of the compound source are analyzed, and the performances of the active noise control system with the compound secondary sources on the monopole primary sound field and sound radiated by a plate are investigated both numerically and experimentally. It has been found that the proposed compound secondary sources control system can provide higher noise reduction for free field noise radiation control with the same number of control channels. It is shown that the better performance in noise reduction of the compound secondary sources control system is mainly due to the directivity of the secondary sources where the energy radiation pattern of the compound sources is similar to that of the primary sources.  相似文献

An active noise barrier with unidirectional secondary sources is investigated in this paper, where the unidirectional secondary source consists of two closely located loudspeakers with pre-adjusted phase difference. The secondary sound field of the unidirectional sources is adjusted to maximally match the primary sound field in the shadow zone behind the barrier. It is shown both numerically and experimentally that the noise reduction performance of the active noise barrier can be improved remarkably by replacing monopoles with the unidirectional sources. The mechanism for the improvement is also investigated.  相似文献

Many outdoor sound sources, such as aircraft or ground vehicles, exhibit directional radiation patterns. However, long-range sound propagation algorithms are usually formulated for omnidirectional point sources. This paper describes two methods for incorporating directional sources into long-range sound propagation algorithms. The first is the equivalent source method (ESM), which determines a compact distribution of omnidirectional point sources reproducing a given directivity pattern in the far field. This method can be used with any propagation algorithm because it explicitly reconstructs a source function as a set of point sources with certain amplitudes and positions. The second is a directional starter method (DSM), which is developed specifically for the parabolic equation (PE) algorithms. This method derives narrow- or wide-angle directional starter fields, corresponding to a given source directivity pattern, without reconstructing the equivalent source distribution. Although the ESM can also be used for the PE, the DSM is simpler and can be more convenient, especially if the sound propagation is calculated only for one or a few azimuthal directions. While these two methods are found to produce generally distinct starter fields, they nonetheless yield identical directivity patterns.  相似文献

圆柱壳内各型体积源辐射噪声特性研究是声场建模和声场预报的前提.为了研究具有指向性的大尺度体积源特性对水下航行器结构内外声场的影响,本文结合薄壳理论、等效源和柱腔Green函数构造了体积源激励下的壳体振动耦合方程,研究了体积源表面声散射作用和指向性强弱对圆柱壳内外声场的影响.数值计算结果表明,体积源构造的准确性与其等效源位置有关,等效源配置在体积源几何中心与其结构表面之间0.4—0.6时,可以提高声场计算结果的准确性;大尺度体积源表面的声散射作用会导致壳体内部声场结构发生改变,内声场声腔共振峰发生偏移,并且在部分频段引起较强的声透射现象;此外,体积源指向性变化对壳体内外声场强弱影响较小,其显著作用表现在改变了外辐射声场的远场指向性.该研究结果对噪声预报和控制有一定的参考价值.  相似文献

The recent expansion of French tram networks and the related local residential complaints mean that a better knowledge of the situations leading to negative reactions from the local inhabitants is required. Hence a research project has been conducted to evaluate and describe noise and vibration emission of trams as well as the perception by the local residents. This paper investigates tram noise emission on common straight track sections, involving two vehicle scales. First the acoustic power and the mean vertical directivity of the total tramset is assessed using an arc of microphones. Then the localisation and the analysis of the main noise sources are performed by means of a cross array during the tram pass-by. Two tram types representing two generations of French rolling stock, both running on two sites with distinct track characteristics, have been investigated considering the effect of speed, tram type, and track type on the noise source contributions and spectral features. Most sources are located in the lower part of the trams, mainly related to rolling noise, with a strong dependence on speed and track type. The tram type dependency, although globally of second importance, influences greatly the noise spectral distribution and behaviour. The HVAC was the only roof-mounted source which could be detected; its contribution towards building storeys becomes significant in configurations of low rolling noise. A tram noise emission model based on the various noise sources has been developed.  相似文献

Bicoherence analysis has been used to characterize nonlinear effects in the propagation of noise from a model-scale, Mach-2.0, unheated jet. Nonlinear propagation effects are predominantly limited to regions near the peak directivity angle for this jet source and propagation range. The analysis also examines the practice of identifying nonlinear propagation by comparing spectra measured at two different distances and assuming far-field, linear propagation between them. This spectral comparison method can lead to erroneous conclusions regarding the role of nonlinearity when the observations are made in the geometric near field of an extended, directional radiator, such as a jet.  相似文献

This paper presents a model for aircraft slat noise prediction, based on the theory of aerodynamic sound generation and the first principles of source flow physics. Starting from the theory of acoustic analogy, the noise from the high Reynolds number and low Mach number flows in the slat cove region is formulated as a general solution by the method of dimensional analysis, far-field asymptotic expansion and statistical modeling. The solution relates the far-field noise spectrum to the surface pressure statistics, the characteristic length and time scales in the surface pressure statistics and Green's function that accounts for the sound-flow coupling and propagation effects. The general solution is then used to extract scaling laws and correlation models for the individual functional dependences between the far-field noise and various parameters, including the slat noise spectral shape, its Mach number dependence and its far-field directivity. The simple scaling laws and correlation models are validated by test data and serve as building blocks to construct a slat noise prediction model.  相似文献

Road barrier diffracting caps have shown a renewed interest for several years since they give the opportunity of increasing the barrier efficiency without changing its overall height. First investigations on the efficiency of road barrier caps calculated with a boundary element method (BEM) have shown that the efficiency obtained with coherent line sources is underestimated compared to that with incoherent line sources, more representative of road traffic noise. The present work deals with the characterisation of the real performance of a T-shaped absorbing cap with road traffic noise conditions. Two different approaches are compared: on one hand calculations with the help of a BEM program able to achieve 2D and 2D simulations are made; on the other hand outdoor measurements on a test-wall using a maximum length sequence technique are carried out. The goal in the two approaches is to isolate the top edge diffracted sound field in order to determine an extrinsic value of octave band efficiency of the cap for many source-receiver pairs. These results integrated in a ray tracing prediction method enable the integration of air absorption along each ray path and give the real efficiency of such a device in the case of complex and realistic configurations for barriers of finite length.  相似文献

A study is conducted on minimizing the sum of the squared acoustic pressures with a linear array of control sources and a perpendicular linear array of error sensors, placed above the top of a noise barrier. Particular angular orientations, with respect to the center of the barrier top, and spacings of the linear arrays of control sources and error sensors result in moderate to significant additional reduction of the acoustic pressure in the shadow zone. Visual inspection of the sound pressure field, with and without active noise control, found that uniform and significant additional insertion loss can be generated near the barrier. Numerical simulations were conducted to test the proposed method. For separations between control sources and error sensors much less than a quarter wavelength of the primary noise disturbance, results show that the angular orientation, of the combined linear control source and sensor arrays, is a weak factor for acoustic pressure reduction in the shadow zone. Weak angle dependence serves as an advantage to the proposed method, which yields uniform performance for any angular orientation. An angular orientation involving the alignment of the furthest error sensor with the first diffracting edge of the barrier and the primary source was observed to perform well for a variety of frequencies, since the spacing between error sensors and between control sources is of the order of a quarter-wavelength. Improved noise control in the shadow zone of a barrier is achieved by the use of two control sources and angular orientation as mentioned above. Further spatial extension of the area of reduced acoustic pressure is possible by utilizing an increased number of control sources.  相似文献

The radiation of sound from a flanged duct system containing various hard-walled pressure sources and a finite length of non-uniformly lined duct is considered. Reflection coefficients, transmission losses and the directivity of the radiated field are evaluated. Direct comparisons between the results for the non-uniformly lined ducts, a uniformly lined duct and a hard-walled duct are made for fixed values of admittance, liner length and source distributions. Several interesting wave scattering characteristics which relate to the design of aircraft turbofan inlet liners are uncovered.  相似文献

Ambient acoustic noise fields in the ocean are generally three dimensional in that they exhibit vertical and horizontal directivity. A model of spatially homogeneous noise is introduced in which the directionality is treated as separable, that is, the overall directionality of the field is the product of the individual directivities in the horizontal and vertical. A uni-modal von Mises circular distribution from directional statistics is taken to represent the noise in the horizontal, whilst the vertical component is consistent with a surface distribution of vertical dipoles. An analysis of the coherence and cross correlation of the noise at two horizontally aligned sensors is developed. The coherence function involves a single integral over finite limits, whilst the cross-correlation function, derived on the assumption that the noise has been pre-whitened, is given by an integral with limits that depend on the correlation delay time. Although the cross-correlation function does not exhibit delta functions that could be identified with the Green's function for propagation between the two sensors in the field, it does drop abruptly to zero at numerical time delays equal to the travel time between the sensors. Hence the noise could be used to recover the sound speed in the medium.  相似文献

A theoretical and experimental investigation of the noise of a model helicopter rotor due to the ingestion of grid-generated, isotropic turbulence is described. Simulated forward flight and vertical ascent tests were performed with a 0·76 m diameter, articulated model rotor in the United Technologies Research Center Acoustic Research Tunnel. Far field noise spectra and directivity were measured in addition to inflow turbulence intensities, length scales and spectra. Measured inflow turbulence statistics and rotor operating parameters were employed in a theoretical procedure to predict turbulence ingestion noise spectra and directivity. This theoretical formulation represented an absolute level prediction method in that empirical or adjustable constants were not employed. From this study it is concluded that incident turbulence represents a potentially important source of rotor narrowband random (quasi-tonal) and broadband noise. With due regard to the absolute level nature of the prediction method, agreement between theory and experiment is reasonable: quasi-tonal noise at low frequency tends to be overpredicted whereas mid-frequency tonal noise and high frequency broadband noise are well predicted. This theory, therefore, provides a means to predict the contribution of turbulence ingestion noise to overall rotor noise spectra and directivity in cases where reasonable estimates of incident turbulence statistics can be made. Ingestion of main rotor wake turbulence by tail rotors in flight and ingestion of atmospheric turbulence by main and tail rotors in hover would be expected to be the most important sources of turbulence ingestion noise in full scale applications.  相似文献

This paper describes the noise generation in an exhaust system of a reciprocating engine and focuses on the noise generated by shock/vortex interaction. The pulsating flow through the exhaust pipe consists of the compression and expansion wave, shock wave being generated by the non-linearity of the compression wave at its head. The jet noise is produced when the pulsating flow is discharged from the pipe end into atmosphere. The numerical simulation based on a finite difference method and experiment were made, the result of both of them being compared. First, the flow field in the pipe was obtained to easily discuss the characteristic of the pulsating jet in terms of the pressure history in the pipe. The jet structure was visualized by using schlieren and shadowgraph techniques. Sound pressure measurements at various locations were made in order to survey the directivity of the noise. The comparison between the result of numerical calculation and experiment showed a good agreement. A noise source related to shock/vortex interaction was confirmed by the numerical study clearly.  相似文献

Conventional near-field acoustical holography (NAH) is generally based on the free-field assumption, which can cause errors when interfering sources are present in practical environments. To cope with this problem, previous research suggested a combined pressure-velocity approach for NAH that provides certain advantages to rejection of interferences. This paper revisits this idea in a broader context of optimal array design and examines the feasibility of using unidirectional microphones in each channel of the array such that the robustness of inverse reconstruction is enhanced against interfering sources. As indicated in the simulation, the numerical noise in finite difference estimation of particle velocity can nullify the advantage of the well-conditioned velocity-based reconstruction. In the proposed approach, the characteristics of each array channel consisting of two microphones are tailored by taking into account not only the directivity, but also the robustness against self-noise. An objective function based on directivity index and white noise gain is exploited in a linear quadratic optimization of a two-element end-fire array. The proposed optimal array is validated in conjunction with the equivalent source model (ESM) -based NAH through numerical simulations, with an interfering source positioned behind the array. The results have shown the directive optimal array has yielded improved quality of images in comparison with conventional approaches in the presence of an interfering source and sensor noise.  相似文献
