A hypersurface of the space form has a canonical principal direction (CPD) relative to the closed and conformal vector field Z of if the projection of Z to M is a principal direction of M . We show that CPD hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature are foliated by isoparametric hypersurfaces. In particular, we show that a CPD surface with constant mean curvature of space form is invariant by the flow of a Killing vector field whose action is polar on . As consequence we show that a compact CPD minimal surface of the sphere is a Clifford torus. Finally, we consider the case when a CPD Euclidean hypersurface has zero Gauss–Kronecker curvature.  相似文献

In this article, we study submanifolds in a pseudo‐sphere with 2‐type pseudo‐spherical Gauss map. We give a characterization theorem for Lorentzian surfaces in the pseudo‐sphere with zero mean curvature vector in and 2‐type pseudo‐spherical Gauss map. We also prove that non‐totally umbilical proper pseudo‐Riemannian hypersurfaces in a pseudo‐sphere with non‐zero constant mean curvature has 2‐type pseudo‐spherical Gauss map if and only if it has constant scalar curvature. Then, for we obtain the classification of surfaces in with 2‐type pseudo‐spherical Gauss map. Finally, we give an example of surface with null 2‐type pseudo‐spherical Gauss map which does not appear in Riemannian case, and we give a characterization theorem for Lorentzian surfaces in with null 2‐type pseudo‐spherical Gauss map.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove rigidity results on gradient shrinking or steady Ricci solitons with weakly harmonic Weyl curvature tensors. Let be a compact gradient shrinking Ricci soliton satisfying with constant. We show that if satisfies , then is Einstein. Here denotes the Weyl curvature tensor. In the case of noncompact, if M is complete and satisfies the same condition, then M is rigid in the sense that M is given by a quotient of product of an Einstein manifold with Euclidean space. These are generalizations of the previous known results in 10 , 14 and 19 . Finally, we prove that if is a complete noncompact gradient steady Ricci soliton satisfying , and if the scalar curvature attains its maximum at some point in the interior of M, then either is flat or isometric to a Bryant Ricci soliton. The final result can be considered as a generalization of main result in 3 .  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the critical points of the total scalar curvature functional restricted to space of metrics with constant scalar curvature of unitary volume, for simplicity CPE metrics. The contribution of this paper is two‐fold. The first one is to derive a simple formula of the mean curvature form for a hypersurface in the Randers space with a Killing vector field, by considering the Busemann–Hausdorff measure and Holmes–Thompson measure simultaneously. The second one is to obtain the explicit local expressions of two types of nontrivial rotational BH‐minimal surfaces in a Randers domain of constant flag curvature , which are the first examples of BH‐minimal surfaces in the hyperbolic Randers space.  相似文献

We show that a compact surface of genus greater than one, without focal points and a finite number of bubbles (“good” shaped regions of positive curvature) is in the closure of Anosov metrics. Compact surfaces of nonpositive curvature and genus greater than one are in the closure of Anosov metrics, by Hamilton's work about the Ricci flow. We generalize this fact to the above surfaces without focal points admitting regions of positive curvature using a “magnetic” version of the Ricci flow, the so‐called Ricci Yang‐Mills flow.  相似文献

A result showed by M. Gursky in 4 ensures that any metric g on the 4‐dimensional sphere satisfying and is isometric to the round metric. In this note, we prove that there exists a universal number i 0 such that any metric g on the 4‐dimensional sphere satisfying and is isometric to the round metric. Moreover, there exists a universal such that any metric g on the 4‐dimensional sphere with nonnegative sectional curvature, and is isometric to the round metric. In 1996, H. Volkmer observed that the inequality is satisfied with some positive constant for a certain class of functions f on [ ? 1, 1] if the eigenfunctions of the problem form a Riesz basis of the Hilbert space . Here the weight is assumed to satisfy a.e. on ( ? 1, 1). We present two criteria in terms of Weyl–Titchmarsh m‐functions for the Volkmer inequality to be valid. Note that one of these criteria is new even for the classical HELP inequality. Using these results we improve the result of Volkmer by showing that this inequality is valid if the operator associated with the spectral problem satisfies the linear resolvent growth condition. In particular, we show that the Riesz basis property of eigenfunctions is equivalent to the linear resolvent growth if r is odd.  相似文献

We show existence theorem of global mild solutions with small initial data and external forces in the time‐weighted Besov space which is an invariant space under the change of scaling. The result on local existence of solutions for large data is also discussed. Our method is based on the ‐ estimate of the Stokes equations in Besov spaces. Since we construct the global solution by means of the implicit function theorem, as a byproduct, its stability with respect to the given data is necessarily obtained.  相似文献

We give necessary and sufficient conditions of the existence of a left‐invariant metric of strictly negative Ricci curvature on a solvable Lie group the nilradical of whose Lie algebra is a filiform Lie algebra . It turns out that such a metric always exists, except for in the two cases, when is one of the algebras of rank two, or , and is a one‐dimensional extension of , in which cases the conditions are given in terms of certain linear inequalities for the eigenvalues of the extension derivation.  相似文献

Let G be a three‐dimensional unimodular Lie group, and let T be a left‐invariant symmetric (0,2)‐tensor field on G. We provide the necessary and sufficient conditions on T for the existence of a pair consisting of a left‐invariant Riemannian metric g and a positive constant c such that , where is the Ricci curvature of g. We also discuss the uniqueness of such pairs and show that, in most cases, there exists at most one positive constant c such that is solvable for some left‐invariant Riemannian metric g.  相似文献

For a locally compact quantum group we define its center, , and its quantum group of inner automorphisms, . We show that one obtains a natural isomorphism between and , we characterize normal quantum subgroups of a compact quantum group as those left invariant by the action of the quantum group of inner automorphisms and discuss several examples.  相似文献

Let X be a rearrangement‐invariant Banach function space on Q where Q is a cube in and let be the Sobolev space of real‐valued weakly differentiable functions f satisfying . We establish a reduction theorem for an embedding of the Sobolev space into spaces of Campanato, Morrey and Hölder type. As a result we obtain a new characterization of such embeddings in terms of boundedness of a certain one‐dimensional integral operator on representation spaces.  相似文献

We define two transforms of non‐conformal harmonic maps from a surface into the 3‐sphere. With these transforms one can construct, from one such harmonic map, a sequence of harmonic maps. We show that there is a correspondence between harmonic maps into the 3‐sphere, H‐surfaces in Euclidean 3‐space and almost complex surfaces in the nearly Kähler manifold . As a consequence we can construct sequences of H‐surfaces and almost complex surfaces.  相似文献

We consider real interpolation methods defined by means of slowly varying functions and rearrangement invariant spaces, for which we present a collection of reiteration theorems for interpolation and extrapolation spaces. As an application we obtain interpolation formulas for Lorentz‐Karamata type spaces, for Zygmund spaces , and for the grand and small Lebesgue spaces.  相似文献

In this sequel to the article 17 , a criterion for the regularity of fundamental solutions of differential operators with positive symbol is proved in analogy to Hörmander's criteria, see 9 , 12 . It implies that the temperate fundamental solution of the operator is not regular. Furthermore, a formula for the convolution of two ‐invariant distributions is presented, and, finally, L. Schwartz' question on the surjectivity of linear partial differential operators with constant coefficients on the space is completely answered in the case of ‐invariant differential operators.  相似文献
