Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions of optimization‐related problems, defined on general sets, are established by using topologically‐based structures, without the usual linear structure. First, we prove that the existence of solutions to a variational relation problem is equivalent to the existence of either a KKM‐structure or a connectedness structure, satisfying additionally some verifiable conditions. Then, applying these results, we obtain such full (two‐way) characterizations for the existence of invariant points, solutions of quasiequilibrium problems of the Stampacchia‐Minty type, saddle points, and Nash equilibria for noncooperative games. The main advantages of our scheme with the mentioned two structures are that full characterizations for existence are obtained in a unified way, with no convexity assumptions, and also that one has flexibility to choose a suitable structure in investigations. (This flexibility is decisive when the natural underlying structure of the given problem is scarcely employed.)  相似文献

The Knaster-Kuratowski-Mazurkiewicz covering theorem (KKM), is the basic ingredient in the proofs of many so-called “intersection” theorems and related fixed point theorems (including the famous Brouwer fixed point theorem). The KKM theorem was extended from Rn to Hausdorff linear spaces by Ky Fan. There has subsequently been a plethora of attempts at extending the KKM type results to arbitrary topological spaces. Virtually all these involve the introduction of some sort of abstract convexity structure for a topological space, among others we could mention H-spaces and G-spaces. We have introduced a new abstract convexity structure that generalizes the concept of a metric space with a convex structure, introduced by E. Michael in [E. Michael, Convex structures and continuous selections, Canad. J. Math. 11 (1959) 556-575] and called a topological space endowed with this structure an M-space. In an article by Shie Park and Hoonjoo Kim [S. Park, H. Kim, Coincidence theorems for admissible multifunctions on generalized convex spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 197 (1996) 173-187], the concepts of G-spaces and metric spaces with Michael's convex structure, were mentioned together but no kind of relationship was shown. In this article, we prove that G-spaces and M-spaces are close related. We also introduce here the concept of an L-space, which is inspired in the MC-spaces of J.V. Llinares [J.V. Llinares, Unified treatment of the problem of existence of maximal elements in binary relations: A characterization, J. Math. Econom. 29 (1998) 285-302], and establish relationships between the convexities of these spaces with the spaces previously mentioned.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce some fixed‐point theorems for a generalized almost Hardy‐Rogers‐type F contraction in a metric‐like space and give an example to illustrate these main results. Moreover, we show the applications of electric circuit equations, second‐order differential equations, and fractional differential equations. Our results improve, generalize, and extend the corresponding results in literature.  相似文献

In this paper, we are concerned with the calculation of Nash-equilibria in non-cooperative n-person games. For this purpose, we construct a continuous mapping of the Cartesian product of the strategy sets of the players into itself such that the fixed points of this mapping are Nash-equilibria. This gives rise to an iteration method for the calculation of fixed points of this mapping which leads to Nash-equilibria, if it converges. As important special cases Bi-matrix games and evolution matrix games are considered.  相似文献

In this paper, we first prove a generalized KKM theorem, and then use this generalized KKM theorem to establish the generalized equi-KKM theorem, common fixed point theorems for a family of multivalued maps, and the Kakutani-Fan-Glicksberg fixed point theorem. We model and analyze classes of antagonistic stochastic games of two players. The actions of the players are formalized by marked point processes recording the cumulative damage to the players at any moment of time. The processes evolve until one of the processes crosses its fixed preassigned threshold of tolerance. Once the threshold is reached or exceeded at some point of the time (exit time), the associated player is ruined. Both stochastic processes are being “observed” by a third party point stochastic process, over which the information regarding the status of both players is obtained. We succeed in these goals by arriving at closed form joint functionals of the named elements and processes. Furthermore, we also look into the game more closely by introducing an intermediate threshold (see a layer), which a losing player is to cross prior to his ruin, in order to analyze the game more scrupulously and see what makes the player lose the game.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the almost inessential game (property) to the solution part of cooperative game theory, which generalizes the inessential game (property). Following the framework of Hamiache to characterize the Shapley value, we then define a new associated game to characterize the center-of-gravity of imputation set value (CIS-value) by means of the almost inessential game property, associated consistency, continuity and efficiency. It provides an interpretation to the CIS-value as the essentially unique fixed point of an endogenous transformation by self-evaluation of TU-games. In addition, symmetry and translation covariance are used to axiomatize the CIS-value instead of the almost inessential property.  相似文献

We investigate the dynamics of two‐dimensional discrete‐time model of leaf quality and larch budmoth interaction with Ricker equation. More precisely, the qualitative behavior of larch budmoth model is discussed in which the effect of food source upon the moth population is through intrinsic growth rate. We find the parametric conditions for local asymptotic stability of the unique positive fixed point. It is also proved that under certain parametric conditions, the system undergoes period‐doubling bifurcation with the help of center manifold theory. The parametric conditions for existence and direction of Neimark‐Sacker bifurcation at positive fixed point is investigated with the help of standard mathematical techniques of bifurcation theory. The chaos control in the system is discussed through implementation of hybrid control methodology. Finally, numerical simulations are provided to illustrate theoretical results. These results of numerical simulations demonstrate chaotic long‐term behavior over a broad range of parameters. The computation of the maximum Lyapunov exponents confirms the presence of chaotic behavior in the system.  相似文献

We show that the fixed point property is comparability invariant for finite ordered sets; that is, if P and Q are finite ordered sets with isomorphic comparability graphs, then P has the fixed point property if and only if Q does. This study characterizes the convex sets whose complements in the unit square exhibit the fixed point property for mappings which are jointly continuous and order preserving. Hence, one can readily construct simple sets with this fixed point property, but which neither have the fixed point property individually for continuous mappings nor for order preserving mappings.
