In this paper, we apply the disconjugacy theory and Elias's spectrum theory to study the positivity and the spectrum structure of the linear operator coupled with the clamped beam boundary conditions (1.2). We also study the positivity and the spectrum structure of the more general operator coupled with (1.2). As the applications of our results on positivity and spectrum of fourth‐order linear differential operators, we show the existence of nodal solutions for the corresponding nonlinear problems via Rabinowitz's global bifurcation theorem.  相似文献

This paper deals with a fully parabolic chemotaxis system with consumption of chemoattractant and logistic source under homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions in a smooth bounded domain . The functions χ and f are assumed to generalize the chemotactic sensitivity function and logistic source respectively. Under some conditions, we obtain that the corresponding initial‐boundary value problem possesses a unique global classical solution that is uniformly bounded.  相似文献

In 1996, H. Volkmer observed that the inequality is satisfied with some positive constant for a certain class of functions f on [ ? 1, 1] if the eigenfunctions of the problem form a Riesz basis of the Hilbert space . Here the weight is assumed to satisfy a.e. on ( ? 1, 1). We present two criteria in terms of Weyl–Titchmarsh m‐functions for the Volkmer inequality to be valid. Note that one of these criteria is new even for the classical HELP inequality. Using these results we improve the result of Volkmer by showing that this inequality is valid if the operator associated with the spectral problem satisfies the linear resolvent growth condition. In particular, we show that the Riesz basis property of eigenfunctions is equivalent to the linear resolvent growth if r is odd.  相似文献

We introduce the non‐commutative f‐divergence functional for an operator convex function f, where and are continuous fields of Hilbert space operators and study its properties. We establish some relations between the perspective of an operator convex function f and the non‐commutative f‐divergence functional. In particular, an operator extension of Csiszár's result regarding f‐divergence functional is presented. As some applications, we establish a refinement of the Choi–Davis–Jensen operator inequality, obtain some unitarily invariant norm inequalities and give some results related to the Kullback–Leibler distance.  相似文献

We consider the Dirichlet problem in a wedge for parabolic equation whose coefficients are measurable function of t. We obtain coercive estimates in weighted ‐spaces. The concept of “critical exponent” introduced in the paper plays here the crucial role. Various important properties of the critical exponent are proved. We give applications to the Dirichlet problem for linear and quasi‐linear non‐divergence parabolic equations with discontinuous in time coefficients in cylinders , where Ω is a bounded domain with an edge or with a conical point.  相似文献

We show the existence of a nodal solution (sign‐changing solution) for a Kirchhoff equation of the type where Ω is a bounded domain in , M is a general C1 class function and f is a superlinear C1 class function with subcritical growth. This note is a companion to the article On the mutually non isomorphic spaces published in this journal, in which P. Cembranos and J. Mendoza showed that is a collection of mutually non isomorphic Banach spaces [5]. We now complete the picture by allowing the non‐locally convex relatives to be part of their natural family and see that, in fact, no two members of the extended class are isomorphic. Our approach is novel in the sense that we reach the isomorphism obstructions from the perspective of bases techniques and the different convexities of the spaces, both methods being intrinsic to quasi‐Banach spaces.  相似文献

For normalized analytic functions f in the unit disk, the estimate of the integral means is important in certain problems in fluid dynamics, especially when the functions are non‐vanishing in the punctured unit disk . We consider the problem of finding the extremal function f which maximizes the integral means for f belong to certain classes of analytic functions related to sufficient conditions of univalence. In addition, for certain subclasses of the class of normalized univalent and analytic functions, we solve the extremal problem for the Yamashita functional where denotes the area of the image of under . The first problem was originally discussed by Gromova and Vasil'ev in 2002 while the second by Yamashita in 1990.  相似文献
