We introduce linear functionals on an ordered cone that are minimal with respect to a given subcone. Using concepts developed for Choquet theory we observe that the properties of these functionals resemble those of positive Radon measures on locally compact spaces. Other applications include monotone functionals on cones of convex sets, H-integrals on H-cones in abstract potential theory, and classical Choquet theory itself.

The theory of locally convex cones as a branch of functional analysis was presented by K. Keimel and W. Roth in [K. Keimel, W. Roth, Ordered Cones and Approximation, Lecture Notes in Math., vol. 1517, Springer-Verlag, Heidelberg, 1992]. We study some more results about dual cones and adjoint operators on locally convex cones. Moreover we introduce the concept of the uniformly precompact sets and discuss their relations with σ-bounded sets. Some results obtained about inductive limit, projective limit, metrizability and quotients of locally convex cones. 相似文献

We prove a uniform boundedness theorem for families of linear operators on ordered cones. Using the concept of locally convex cones we introduce the notions of barreled cones and of weak cone-completeness. Our main result, though no straightforward generalization of the classical case, implies the Uniform Boundedness Theorem for Fréchet spaces.

We introduce in this work some normed space notions such as norming, thin and thick sets in general locally convex spaces. We also study some effects of thick sets on the uniform boundedness-like principles in locally convex spaces such as “weak*-bounded sets are strong*-bounded if and only if the space is a Banach–Mackey space”. It is proved that these principles occur under some weaker conditions by means of thick sets. Further, we show that the thickness is a duality invariant, that is, all compatible topologies for some locally convex space have the same thick sets. 相似文献

In this note, we establish some interesting relationships between the existence of Borwein's proper efficient points and the existence of bases for convex ordering cones in normed linear spaces. We show that, if the closed unit ball in a smooth normed space ordered by a convex cone possesses a proper efficient point in the sense of Borwein, then the ordering cone is based. In particular, a convex ordering cone in a reflexive space is based if the closed unit ball possesses a proper efficient point. Conversely, we show that, in any ordered normed space, if the ordering cone has a base, then every weakly compact set possesses a proper efficient point.The research was conducted while the author was working on his PhD Degree under the supervision of Professor J. We develop the theory of convex polyhedral cones in the objective-function space of a multicriteria decision problem. The convex cones are obtained from the decision-maker's pairwise judgments of decision alternatives and are applicable to any quasiconcave utility function. Therefore, the cones can be used in any progressively articulated solution procedure that employs pairwise comparisons. The cones represent convex sets of solutions that are inferior to known solutions to a multicriteria problem. Therefore, these convex sets can be eliminated from consideration while solving the problem. We develop the underlying theory and a framework for representing knowledge about the decision-maker's preference structure using convex cones. This framework can be adopted in the interactive solution of any multicriteria problem after taking into account the characteristics of the problem and the solution procedure. Our computational experience with different multicriteria problems shows that this approach is both viable and efficient in solving practical problems of moderate size. 相似文献

As a discrete analogue of Aleksandrov's projection theorem, it is natural to ask the following question: Can an o-symmetric convex lattice set of the integer lattice Z n be uniquely determined by its lattice projection counts? In 2005, Gardner, Gronchi and Zong discovered a counterexample with cardinality 11 in the plane. Since the early 1970's, there have been many papers devoted to tangent cones and their applications to optimization. Much of the debate over which tangent cone is best has centered on the properties of Clarke's tangent cone and whether other cones have these properties. In this paper, it is shown that there are an infinite number of tangent cones with some of the nicest properties of Clarke's cone. These properties are convexity, multiple characterizations, and proximal normal formulas. The nature of these cones indicates that the two extremes of this family of cones, the cone of Clarke and the B-tangent cone or the cone of Michel and Penot, warrant further study. The relationship between these new cones and the differentiability of functions is also considered. 相似文献

We present an alternative proof of the following fact: the hyperspace of compact closed subsets of constant width in Rn is a contractible Hilbert cube manifold. The proof also works for certain subspaces of compact convex sets of constant width as well as for the pairs of compact convex sets of constant relative width. Our main result states that the hyperspace of convex compact subsets of a compact convex subset X in a locally convex space is an absolute retract if and only if X is an absolute retract of weight ?ω1. It is also proved that the hyperspace of convex compact subsets of the Tychonov cube Iω1 is homeomorphic to Iω1. An analogous result is also proved for the cone over Iω1. Our proofs are based on analysis of maps of hyperspaces of compact convex subsets, in particular, selection theorems for such maps are proved. 相似文献
