1 INTRODUCTION Polyoxometalates (POMs) have various structures of definite sizes and shapes belonging to well-known structural types, such as Lindquist (e.g., W6O192–), Keggin (e.g., PW12O403–) or Dawson (e.g., P2W18- O626–) types. Preparation of a novel magnetic resin for effective removal of both natural organic matter and organic micropollutants

A novel,bifunctional,hypercrosslinked.magnetic resin W2 was prepared using divinylbenzene(DVB) and glycidyl methacrylate(GMA) as comonomers in three steps(i.e.,suspension polymerization, amination and post-crosslinking reactions).To evaluate the adsorption of natural organic matter(NOM) and organic micropollutants(OMPs) on the obtained resin W2,two magnetic resins Wl(the precursor of W2 before post-crosslinking) and WO(the precursor of Wl before amination) were chosen for comparison.The results indicated that W2 would be a promising material for the removal of both NOM and OMPs from aquatic environments.     

THE GLOBAL BIOSTRATIGRAPHICAL CORRELATION OF THE MEISHUCUNIAN STAGE AND THE PRECAMBRIAN-CAMBRIAN BOUNDARY

The Meishucunian Stage is rich in fossils and is characterized by their distinct evolutionsequence, so based on the established zonation of small shelly fossils, the sequence of tracefossils and the stratotype point (China "B", the dividing point between Units 6 and 7 or be-tween fossil zones Ⅰ and Ⅱ), the Meishucun section is more widely applicable to both region-al and intercontinental correlations. In this respect, the stage is well suited for both thecarbonate and the clastic-rock sedimentary regions. The Meishucunian small shelly fossil assem-blages are correlated with those found in Siberia of U.S.S.R., Mongolia, Central England,South Australia and Northwestern Canada. The Meishucunian trace fossil sequence can alsobe broadly correlated with that in the Russian Platform of U.S.S.R., Northwest Europe,Great Britain, Spain, Australia, the Western United States and Southeastern Canada.

Formation of binary silver sulfide clusters and sulfur sensitization of photographic process

Formation of silver sulfide binary cluster ions,as well as the effects of silver and sulfur content proportion,the cluster size range,the influence of laser fluence,the UV laser photolysis,etc.,was studied with the laser ablation method and a tandem time-of-flight mass spectrometer.The results show that there exist two different forms of positively charge-bearing cluster ions;[(Ag2S)n Ag] + and [ (Ag2S)n-1 Ag3]+.The most possible forms of the sulfur sensitization centers acting as traps of photoelectrons are [Ag2S] +,[ Ag2S Ag] +,[ Ag2S Ag3]+ and the analogs.

The fat and oil from myocastor coypus have been analysed by gas chromatography. Eight components were identified with a rapid and reliable method. Chromatographic conditions were as follows:column,10% DEGS on Chromosorb W AW DMCS(60 - 80 mesh),1.3m × 3.0mm i.d.;column temp.,195℃;injection temp.,250℃;detector temp,.250℃;carrier gas N2 with flow rate of 35mL/min.     

GEOCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND GENESIS OF STRATABOUND GOLD DEPOSITS IN JIANGNAN GOLD METALLOGENIC BELT

This paper, based on the geochemical study and comparison of the gold-bearing formations and stratabound gold deposits hosted by the formations in the belt, shows that the most outstanding geochemical characteristics of the strata-bound gold deposits in the Proterozoic Jiangnan Metallogenic Belt, namely "Jiangnan-type" gold deposits, are conjugated occurrence of gold-depleted strata associated with high frequency gold mineralization in regional scale and negative gold anomaly in the wall rock of gold orebodies in the local range, concentration of the low-abundance elements such as Au, Sb, W and As, and impoverishment of base metals in the ore. Their ore-forming solutions have a temperature range of 160—390℃, intermediate salinity mostly from 4 to 10 wt% NaC1 equiv., nearly neutral to weak alkaline, and are reduced, rich in HCO_3~-, ΣS and poor in C1. FTIR Spectroscopic Studies on the Conformational Equilibrium of Liquid 2,4-Dimethyl-1,3-Pentadiene

Investigations of 2,4-dimethyl-1,3-pentadiene by variable temperature FTIR spectra have concluded that the compound is a mixture of two kinds of single bond isomer,i.e.,s-traiis and s-cis conformers.The changes of IR band intensities have been recorded at research temperature range.The values of △H° and △S° between two stable conformers have been deduced to be 4.37 kJ/mol and 2.48 J/mol K respectively.     

Synthesis and Spectroscopic Characterization of Organothiophosphoryl Polyoxotungstates α-[C6H11P（S）]2X^n＋W11O39^（8-n）-（X^n＋—P^5＋，Si^4＋，Ge^4＋，Ga^3＋）

Organothiophosphoryl polyoxotungstate derivatives α-[C6H11P(S)]2X^n W11O39^(8-n)-(X=P，Si，Ge，Ga) were obtained by the reactions of the monovacant α-[C6H11P(S)] 2X^n W11O39^(8-n)-(X=P，Si，Ge，Ga) anions with electrophilic C6H11P(S)Cl2 in acetonitrile. These new organic-inorganic hybrid anions were characterized by elemental analyses, IR. ^31p and ^183W NMR spectrometries. The six-line ^183W NMR spectrum indicates that α-[C6H11P(S)] 2X^n W11O39^(8-n)-(X=P，Si，Ge，Ga) anions possess true Cs symmetry in acetonitrile. According to the spectroscopic observation and the chemical analyses, it is known that each of the hybrid anions consists of an α-[XW11O39] framework on which two equivalent C6H11P(S) groups are grafted through P-O-W bridges.     

Phase behaviour and microstructures of microemulsions(Ⅰ)

By the orthogonal design,the optimal formation conditions for the middle-phase microemulsions in the system dioctadeeyldimethylammornum chloride (DODMAC)/ sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)/n-butanol/n-hep-ane/brine were obtained as follows.Investigations have been made on the effects of the concentrations of NaCl and n-butanol(1.0%-14.0%),the rantos of W to Wshs and the kinds of alcohols (n-propanol,n-butanol,and n-pentanol) on the formation,the phase behavtour,the ultralow interfacial tensions,the optimal salinity (S*),and the length of salinity (S).Some rules and data were worked out about the formation and characteristics of the middle-phase microemulsions.The mi-crostruenres of the middle-phase microemulsions were also studied by using FT-IR,ESR,and freeze fracture electron microscopy techmques The results from the three methods show that the microstructures of the middle-phase mi-croemnlsions undergo the change from O/W to bicontinuous(B C.) and to W/O.The distribution rule of the orga-mzed molecule ass

In the presence of Bu4NBr acting as phasetransfer reagent, organothiophosphoryl polyoxotungstate derivatives α-[RP(S)]2PW9O54^5- (R=C6Hs, C6H11) have been obtained by reaction of the trivacant β-[PW9O34]^9- anions with electrophilic C6H5P(S)Cl2 or C6H11P(S)Cl2 in acetonitrile. These new organic-inorganic hybrid anions have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, ^31P and ^183W NMR spectroscopy. The collective application of the spectroscopy data of these new species indicates that the hybrid anion consists of an α-[PW9O34] framework on which are grafted two RP(S) groups through P-O-W bridges. The five-line ^183W spectra indicate that the hybrid anions possess Cs symmetry in acetonitrile.

The First Principles Investigations of the Thermoelectric Properties of GaN with p- and n-Type Doping

We investigate the thermoelectric properties of GaN with p-and n-type doping by the first principles calculation and the semi-classical Boltzmann theory. We find that the power factors (S2σof p-type GaN (-3500 W/mK2) is about twice that of the n-type (-1750 W/mK2), which indicates the thermoelectric properties of p-type GaN would be better. Thermal conductivity of GaN crystal decreases rapidly as the temperature increases, but it is still too large for thermoelectric applications. The figure of merit (ZT) estimated at 1500 K is 0.134 for p-type GaN crystal and 0.062 for the n-type.
