Say that a graph G is representable in Rn if there is a map f from its vertex set into the Euclidean space Rn such that 6f(x)?f(x)6=6f(y)?f(y)6 iff {x,x} and{y,y} are both edges or both non-edges in G. The purpose of this note is to present the proof of the following result, due to Einhorn and Schoenberg in Einhorn and Schoenberg (1966): if G finite is neither complete nor independent, then it is representable in R|G|?2. A similar result also holds in the case of finite complete edge-colored graphs.  相似文献

Let V be a finite-dimensional representation of the complex circle C× determined by a weight vector aZn. We study the Hilbert series Hilba(t) of the graded algebra C[V]Ca× of polynomial C×-invariants in terms of the weight vector a of the C×-action. In particular, we give explicit formulas for Hilba(t) as well as the first four coefficients of the Laurent expansion of Hilba(t) at t=1. The naive formulas for these coefficients have removable singularities when weights pairwise coincide. Identifying these cancelations, the Laurent coefficients are expressed using partial Schur polynomials that are independently symmetric in two sets of variables. We similarly give an explicit formula for the a-invariant of C[V]Ca× in the case that this algebra is Gorenstein. As an application, we give methods to identify weight vectors with Gorenstein and non-Gorenstein invariant algebras.  相似文献

Let p be an odd prime, and λ be a nonzero element of the finite field Fpm. The λ-constacyclic codes of length 2ps over Fpm are classified as the ideals of quotient ring Fpm[x]x2ps?λ in terms of their generator polynomials. Based on these generator polynomials, the symbol-pair distances of all such λ-constacyclic codes of length 2ps are obtained in this paper. As an application, all MDS symbol-pair constacyclic codes of length 2ps over Fpm are established, which produce many new MDS symbol-pair codes with good parameters.  相似文献

In [3], it was shown that convex, almost everywhere continuous functions coordinatize a broad class of probability measures on Rn by the map U?(?U)#e?Udx. We consider whether there is a similar coordinatization of non-commutative probability spaces, with the Gibbs measure e?Udx replaced by the corresponding free Gibbs law. We call laws parameterized in this way free moment laws. We first consider the case of a single (and thus commutative) random variable and then the regime of n non-commutative random variables which are perturbations of freely independent semi-circular variables. We prove that free moment laws exist with little restriction for the one dimensional case, and for small even perturbations of free semi-circle laws in the general case.  相似文献

Let I be a homogeneous ideal of k[x0,,xn]. To compare I(m), the m-th symbolic power of I, with Im, the regular m-th power, we introduce the m-th symbolic defect of I, denoted sdefect(I,m). Precisely, sdefect(I,m) is the minimal number of generators of the R-module I(m)/Im, or equivalently, the minimal number of generators one must add to Im to make I(m). In this paper, we take the first step towards understanding the symbolic defect by considering the case that I is either the defining ideal of a star configuration or the ideal associated to a finite set of points in P2. We are specifically interested in identifying ideals I with sdefect(I,2)=1.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the curves Ck(p,a):yp?y=xpk+1+ax defined over Fp and give a positive answer to a conjecture about a divisibility condition on L-polynomials of the curves Ck(p,a). Our proof involves finding an exact formula for the number of Fpn-rational points on Ck(p,a) for all n, and uses a result we proved elsewhere about the number of rational points on supersingular curves.  相似文献

Let o be a complete discrete valuation ring with finite residue field k of odd characteristic, and let G be a symplectic or special orthogonal group scheme over o. For any ?N let G? denote the ?-th principal congruence subgroup of G(o). An irreducible character of the group G(o) is said to be regular if it is trivial on a subgroup G?+1 for some ?, and if its restriction to G?/G?+1?Lie(G)(k) consists of characters of minimal G(kalg)-stabilizer dimension. In the present paper we consider the regular characters of such classical groups over o, and construct and enumerate all regular characters of G(o), when the characteristic of k is greater than two. As a result, we compute the regular part of their representation zeta function.  相似文献

We extend Feichtinger's minimality property on the smallest non-trivial time-frequency shift invariant Banach space, to the quasi-Banach case. We investigate a sharp Moser–Trudinger inequality which involves the anisotropic Dirichlet norm (ΩFN(?u)dx)1N on W01,N(Ω) for N2. Here F is convex and homogeneous of degree 1, and its polar Fo represents a Finsler metric on RN. Under this anisotropic Dirichlet norm, we establish the Lions type concentration-compactness alternative. We deal here with planar analytic systems x˙=X(x,ε) which are small perturbations of a period annulus. For each transversal section Σ to the unperturbed orbits we denote by TΣ(q,ε) the time needed by a perturbed orbit that starts from qΣ to return to Σ. We call this the flight return time function. We say that the closed orbit Γ of x˙=X(x,0) is a continuable critical orbit in a family of the form x˙=X(x,ε) if, for any qΓ and any Σ that passes through q, there exists qεΣ a critical point of TΣ(?,ε) such that qεq as ε0. In this work we study this new problem of continuability.In particular we prove that a simple critical periodic orbit of x˙=X(x,0) is a continuable critical orbit in any family of the form x˙=X(x,ε). We also give sufficient conditions for the existence of a continuable critical orbit of an isochronous center x˙=X(x,0).  相似文献
