We investigate the impact of memory effect on the evolution of cooperation in the spatial prisoner's dilemma game, in which each player will record his own strategies during the previous M game rounds (here, M is also named as the memory length). At each time step, each individual will update his current strategy according to the Fermi-like probability which will be multiplied by a pre-factor, and this factor will be correlated with the fraction of previous strategy states identical with the individual strategy to be updated. The numerical simulation results demonstrate that the memory length will largely influence the cooperation level at the stationary state, and it is clearly shown that the intermediate value of M will optimally favor the emergence of cooperation and the dynamical evolution, and characteristic patterns also support these conclusions. In addition, we depict the full cooperation phase diagrams and find that the cooperation region will be broadened under the case of moderate M values. The current results also indicate that the limited memory may be enough for us to design the effective promotion mechanism and further understand the emergency of cooperation taking place upon many networked populations.  相似文献

The public goods game is an important theoretical model for investigating the emergence of cooperation in the multi-player social dilemma. It has been proven that scale-free networks can significantly promote cooperation, but fail to sustain cooperation when the player obtains the normalized payoff. In this paper, we introduce heterogeneous investment mechanism into the public goods game on scale-free networks, and study the evolution of cooperation in both cases of accumulated and normalized payoff. Our research reveals that the heterogeneous investment mechanism can obviously facilitate cooperation as the adjusted parameter α increases. The increase of α allows cooperators to emerge under lower values of r. In the case of accumulated payoff, cooperators always firmly occupy the hubs, and the population keeps high cooperation level. In the case of normalized payoff, the increase of α changes the situation that the hubs are easily invaded by defectors, and inhibits the spread of defectors.  相似文献

We introduce a deterministic win-stay-lose-shift rule into the spatial public goods game, according to which a player will change its current strategy only if its payoff is below a predefined aspiration level. Simulation results on the square lattice and scale-free network indicate that the aspiration level greatly affects the evolution of cooperation. For small multiplication factors, the frequency of cooperation increases to 0.5 as the aspiration level increases. For large multiplication factors, intermediate levels of aspiration prove optimal for the successful evolution of public cooperation. Some qualitative analyses are provided to explain the above results. Besides, we have found that there exists a ping-pong vibration of cooperation at some specific values of multiplication factors and aspiration levels.  相似文献

The existence of reputation can significantly promote the level of cooperation within the human population. In the recent years, most of the researches were based on binary image score or first-order evaluation standard. In this paper, we propose a second-order reputation evaluation model, in which the individual's image score will change not only in accordance with his own strategy, but also the reputation value of neighbors. Individuals try to enhance their reputation to cooperate with the surrounding high-reputation individuals, and then becomes an influential individual in the population. The existence of this mechanism renders the individuals who at the edge of the clusters formed by the cooperators to rapidly accumulate their reputation values through the adoption of cooperative strategy, and then the cooperative strategy can be spread widely and rapidly in the whole population. Through extensive numerical simulations, it is clearly indicated that the population cooperation behavior will be obviously improved when the individual's influence factor becomes smaller or the reputation step length increases. The current results are further conducive to understanding the emergence of cooperation in many real world systems.  相似文献

In this study,we propose a spatial prisoner’s dilemma game model with a 2-stage strategy updating rule,and focus on the cooperation behavior of the system.In the first stage,i.e.,the pre-learning stage,a focal player decides whether to update his strategy according to the pre-learning factor β and the payoff difference between himself and the average of his neighbors.If the player makes up his mind to update,he enters into the second stage,i.e.,the learning stage,and adopts a strategy of a randomly selected neighbor according to the standard Fermi updating rule.The simulation results show that the cooperation level has a non-trivial dependence on the pre-learning factor.Generally,the cooperation frequency decreases as the pre-learning factor increases;but a high cooperation level can be obtained in the intermediate region of 3 < β < 1.We then give some explanations via studying the co-action of pre-learning and learning.Our results may sharpen the understanding of the influence of the strategy updating rule on evolutionary games.  相似文献

零行列式策略不仅可以单方面设置对手收益,而且可以对双方的收益施加一个线性关系,从而达到敲诈对手的目的.本文针对零行列式策略博弈前期与稳态期的收益存在偏差,基于Markov链理论给出零行列式策略与全合作策略博弈的瞬态分布、瞬态收益及达到稳态所需时间.发现在小的敲诈因子下,敲诈者前期收益高于稳态期收益,敲诈因子较大时,情况截然相反,并且敲诈因子越大,越不利于双方合作,达到稳态也越慢.这为现实生活中频繁更新策略的博弈提供了一种计算实时收益的方法.此外针对敲诈策略与进化人的博弈,论证了双方均背叛状态下,进化人下次博弈时一定进化为全合作策略.通过对所有状态下策略更新过程仿真,发现进化人在四种情况下的进化速度有显著差异,并最终演化为全合作策略,表明零行列式策略是合作产生的催化剂.  相似文献

Understanding the emergence and maintenance of cooperation in social dilemma has received a lot of attention. In previous research, many scholars found that the reputation mechanism can promote cooperation, and the variation of reputation is consistent. However, in reality, according to both one's current action and past experiences, every individual's impression from others is modified to varying extent everyday. In other words, the length of duration of the same performance influences the diverse scale of their own reputation fluctuation. Therefore, a reputation-based strategy persistence mechanism, in which the increment of current reputation is determined by the persistence of last strategy, is proposed. Moreover, we introduce a parameter α to illustrate the impact of strategy persistence on reputation variation. The results of simulation show that the new mechanism paves the way for cooperation in evolutionary game, and the smaller α is, the better the mechanism performs.  相似文献

The phenomena of cooperation in animal and human society are ubiquitous, but the selfish outcome that no player contributes to the public good will lead to the "tragedy of the commons". The recent research shows that high punishment can improve the cooperation of the population. In this paper, we introduce a punishment mechanism into spatial voluntary public goods games with every individual only knowing his own payoff in each round. Using the self-adjusting rules, we find that the different cost for punishment can lead to different effects on the voluntary public goods games. Especially, when the cost for punishment is decreased, a higher contribution region will appear in the case of low r value. It means even for the low r value, individuals can form the contributing groups in large quantities to produce a more efficient outcome than that in moderate r value. In addition, we also find the players' memory can have effects on the average outcome of the population.  相似文献

Using molecular dynamics (MD) simulation and evolutionary game theory, we incorporate the spacial structure of individuals into the study of the behaviors of cooperation, by adopting the prisoner's dilemma and snowdrift game as metaphors of cooperation between unrelated individuals. The results show that the introduction of spacial structure enhances cooperation using the strategy of prisoner's dilemma while does not make much changes to the cooperation if the strategy of snowdrift game is used. It is also found that our model is a meta-phase between regular ring graph model and complex network model. And the “activity of players” T* we introduced makes our simulation much more closer to real world problems.  相似文献

To study the incentive mechanisms of cooperation, we propose a preference rewarding mechanism in the spatial prisoner's dilemma game, which simultaneously considers reputational preference, other-regarding preference and the dynamic adjustment of vertex weight. The vertex weight of a player is adaptively adjusted according to the comparison result of his own reputation and the average reputation value of his immediate neighbors. Players are inclined to pay a personal cost to reward the cooperative neighbor with the greatest vertex weight. The vertex weight of a player is proportional to the preference rewards he can obtain from direct neighbors. We find that the preference rewarding mechanism significantly facilitates the evolution of cooperation, and the dynamic adjustment of vertex weight has powerful effect on the emergence of cooperative behavior. To validate multiple effects, strategy distribution and the average payoff and fitness of players are discussed in a microcosmic view.  相似文献

Much of human cooperation remains an evolutionary riddle. Coevolutionary public goods games in structured populations are studied where players can change from an unproductive public goods game to a productive one, by evaluating the productivity of the public goods games. In our model, each individual participates in games organized by its neighborhood plus by itself. Coevolution here refers to an evolutionary process entailing both deletion of existing links and addition of new links between agents that accompanies the evolution of their strategies. Furthermore, we investigate the effects of time scale separation of strategy and structure on cooperation level. This study presents the following: Foremost, we observe that high cooperation levels in public goods interactions are attained by the entangled coevolution of strategy and structure. Presented results also confirm that the resulting networks show many features of real systems, such as cooperative behavior and hierarchical clustering. The heterogeneity of the interaction network is held responsible for the observed promotion of cooperation. We hope our work may offer an explanation for the origin of large-scale cooperative behavior among unrelated individuals.  相似文献

How cooperative behavior emerges and evolves in human society remains a puzzle. It has been observed that the sense of guilt rooted from free-riding and the sense of justice for punishing the free-riders are prevalent in the real world. Inspired by this observation, two punishment mechanisms have been introduced in the spatial public goods game which are called self-punishment and peer punishment respectively in this paper. In each situation, we have introduced a corresponding parameter to describe the level of individual tolerance or social tolerance. For each individual, whether to punish others or whether it will be punished by others depends on the corresponding tolerance parameter. We focus on the effects of the two kinds of tolerance parameters on the cooperation of the population. The particle swarm optimization (PSO)-based learning rule is used to describe the strategy updating process of individuals. We consider both of the memory and the imitation in our model. Via simulation experiments, we find that both of the two punishment mechanisms could facilitate the promotion of cooperation to a large extent. For the self-punishment and for most parameters in the peer punishment, the smaller the tolerance parameter, the more conducive it is to promote cooperation. These results can help us to better understand the prevailing phenomenon of cooperation in the real world.  相似文献

Indirect reciprocity is a fascinating topic in the field of social cooperation. In this paper, we propose a novel updating strategy based on the critical reputation-aware calculation. The joint of reputation allows players to make decisions not only on current payoffs but also from a third party, which improves the status of cooperators in the prisoner's dilemma game and provides a possibility for surviving. Experiments show that the discrepancies in initial fitness caused by reputation will support cooperators in occupying a high proportion in communities. Interestingly, we find that the massive scale of reputation fluctuation helps to enhance the cooperative effect, and newly name this character as “quasi-time lag”. The simulations show that the promotion of our proposed mechanism is effective and robust on different network topologies. This work provides a new perspective for the study of the cooperative game.  相似文献

An evolutionary prisoner’s dilemma game with players adjusting their learning motivation is studied. At each time step, each player can adjust his/her learning motivation according to the difference between the current payoff and payoff aspiration. Greater payoff aspiration means stronger learning motivation, and vice versa. We find that the density of cooperation in a spatial prisoner’s dilemma game is enhanced when the learning motivation mechanism is considered. Meanwhile, we show that proper noise can not only induce the highest cooperation level but also can maintain the cooperation phenomenon even though there is more temptation to defect.  相似文献

We study the role of recommendation in a co-evolutionary public goods game in which groups can recommend their members for establishment of new relationships with individuals outside the current group according to group quality. Intriguingly, for square lattices and ER graphs there exists optimal group quality for recommendation that induces positive feedback between cooperation and recommendation. Snapshots of spatial patterns of cooperators, defectors, recommended cooperators and recommended defectors show that if group quality is appropriate for recommendation, cooperation and recommendation can simultaneously emerge. Moreover, we find that local recommendation improves cooperation more than global recommendation. As an extension, we also present results for Barabási–Albert networks. The positive effect of recommendation on cooperation for Barabási–Albert networks is independent of group quality. Our results provide an insight into the evolution of cooperation in real social systems.  相似文献

Altruistic punishment for defectors is considered as a key motive for the explanation of cooperation. However, there is no clear border between the cooperative and defective behaviors in a continuous strategy game. We propose a model to study the effect of punishment on the evolution of cooperation in continuous public goods game, wherein individuals have the traits to punish the co-players based on social tolerance. We show that a reasonable punishment with a uniform tolerance can spur individuals to make more investments. Additionally, for a fixed punishment cost and a fixed fine, a moderate value of tolerance can result in the best promotion of cooperation. Furthermore, we investigate the coevolutionary dynamics of investment and tolerance. We find that the population splits into two branches: high-tolerance individuals who make high investments and low-tolerance individuals who make low investments. A dynamic equilibrium is achieved between these two types of individuals. Our work extends punishment to continuous cooperative behaviors and the results may enhance the understanding of altruistic punishment in the evolution of human cooperation.  相似文献

We explore the evolution of cooperation in a public goods game where the habitat destruction is taken into account. A model of ordinary differential equations is proposed, in which incorporate the habitat destroyed. And we focus on the impact of different levels of habitat destruction on cooperation. Our results show that the fraction of cooperation receives the biggest boost for moderate habitat destruction, and decreases to zero very quickly for a higher degree of habitat destruction. Similarly, our results suggest that low or moderate habitat degradation can promote the evolution of cooperators, and once habitat degradation is too severe, the fraction of cooperators will decline dramatically. Furthermore, we investigate the cooperation level with different multiplication factor, and results demonstrate that the cooperation increases monotonously with the increasing of the multiplication factor. Our findings may provide many more insights for understanding the emergence and maintenance of cooperation in the complex biological and social systems.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a dynamic allocation investment mechanism into the spatial public goods game. In the model, if a cooperator ii collects more payoffs from one group centered on the player jj in the last round, he will put more investments to the group in the next round. The intensity of investment is controlled by a tunable parameter αα. Simulation results show that the emergence of cooperation is remarkably promoted, and a larger αα induces a higher cooperation level. These interesting phenomena are then extensively explained by pairwise investments, average payoffs and evolution snapshots.  相似文献

Spatial public goods game is a popular metaphor to model the dilemma of collective cooperation on graphs, yet the non-excludable property of public goods has seldom been considered in previous models. Based upon a coevolutionary model where agents play public goods games and adjust their partnerships, the present model incorporates the non-excludable property of public goods: agents are able to adjust their participation in the games hosted by others, whereas they cannot exclude others from their own games. In the coevolution, a directed and dynamical network which represents partnerships among autonomous agents is evolved. We find that non-excludable property counteracts the positive effect of partner switching, i.e., the equilibrium level of cooperation is lower than that in the situation of excludable public goods game. Therefore, we study the effect of individual punishment that cooperative agents pay a personal cost to decrease benefits of those defective neighbors who participate in their hosted games. It is found that the cooperation level in the whole population is heightened in the presence of such a costly behavior.  相似文献

In a three player quantum 'Dilemma' game each player takes independent decisions to maximize his/her individual gain. The optimal strategy in the quantum version of this game has a higher payoff compared to its classical counterpart. However, this advantage is lost if the initial qubits provided to the players are from a noisy source. We have experimentally implemented the three player quantum version of the 'Dilemma' game as described by Johnson, [N.F. Johnson, Phys. Rev. A 63 (2001) 020302(R)] using nuclear magnetic resonance quantum information processor and have experimentally verified that the payoff of the quantum game for various levels of corruption matches the theoretical payoff.  相似文献
