The intensity difference squeezed state, which means that the fluctuation of the intensity difference between signal and idler beams is less than that of the corresponding shot noise level(SNL), plays an important role in high sensitivity measurement, quantum imaging, and quantum random numbers generation. When an optical parametric oscillator consisting of a type-Ⅱ phase-matching periodically poled KTiOPO_4 crystal operates above the threshold, an intensity difference squeezed state at a telecommunication wavelength can be obtained. The squeezing of 7.7 ± 0.5 dB below the SNL is achieved in an analysis frequency region of 2.4–5.0 MHz. 相似文献

We demonstrate an optically pumped semiconductor disk laser based on the (AlGaIn)(AsSb) material system, which operates at an emission wavelength of 2.8 μm. Up to 120 mW of output power were obtained in cw operation and more than 500 mW in pulsed mode. The performance of the present laser is discussed in comparison to shorter-wavelength semiconductor disk lasers based on the same materials system. 相似文献

The GaInAsSb/AlGaAsSb double quantum well lasers with an emission wavelength 2.0 μm, using the separate-confinement asymmetric waveguide, have been designed and fabricated, showing high quantum efficiency and high power conversion efficiency at continuous-wave operation mode. The threshold current density of the device is as low as 92 A/cm2. The internal loss coefficient and the internal quantum efficiency are 1.0 cm?1 and 86.1%, respectively. The 35% maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) and narrow far-field patterned were achieved. 相似文献

A Rayleigh backscattered signal and Fresnel reflection over a 167.6-km and a 251.2-km long pure silica-core fiber (PSF) with fiber loss 0.176 dB/km, and a 138.6-km and a 206.5-km long Ge-doped core dispersion shifted fiber (DSF) with fiber loss 0.218 dB/km have been observed with ultra-long-range optical time domain reflectometry (OTDR) using a 1.55-μm high-power semiconductor laser (LD) and InGaAs-APD with a low dark current at room temperature. The Rayleigh backscattered signal level and fiber loss are strongly dependent on the fiber dopant materials and fiber structural parameters. DSF gives a better SNR for short length fibers because the Rayleigh backscattered signal level is larger than PSF, but because the DSF loss is also larger, PSF gives a better SNR for fibers longer than the critical length. Accordingly, the dynamic range of OTDR in the different fiber types such as PSF and DSF becomes different. One-way backscattered dynamic ranges of 29.5 dB for the PSF and about 30.2 dB for the DSF at room temperature have been achieved. 相似文献

We report 25 Gb/s high-speed directly modulated ground-state operation of 1.3 μm In As/Ga As quantum dot(QD) lasers grown by molecular beam epitaxy. The active region of the lasers consists of eight layers of p-doped In As QDs with high uniformity and density. Ridge-waveguide lasers with a 3-μm-wide and 300-μm-long cavity show a low threshold current of 14.4 m A at 20°C and high temperature stability with a high characteristic temperature of 1208 K between 20°C and 70°C. Dynamic response measurements demonstrate that the laser has a 3 d B bandwidth of 7.7 GHz at 20°C and clearly opened eye diagrams even at high temperatures up to 75°C under a 25 Gb/s direct modulation rate. 相似文献

We report on experiments performed with a cladding-pumped single-mode Er:Yb-codoped single-frequency fiber amplifier simultaneously seeded by a distributed-feedback diode at 1556 nm and a tunable external-cavity diode laser emitting at a wavelength of about 1 μm wavelength. The influence of the output wavelength of the external-cavity laser on amplification and reabsorption behavior of the Yb emission as well as the amplifier performance at a wavelength of 1556 nm is examined experimentally. 相似文献

We experimentally demonstrated a passively mode-locked femtosecond laser by using a graphene-based saturable absorber mirror (graphene SAM) in the spectral region of 2 μm. The graphene SAM was fabricated by transferring chemical-vapor-deposited, high-quality, and large-area graphene on a highly reflective plane mirror. Stable mode-locked laser pulses as short as 729 fs were obtained with a repetition rate of 98.7 MHz and an average output power of 60.2 mW at 2018 nm. 相似文献

This paper reports results of an experimental study of a cw 118.6 m H2O waveguide laser. The laser cavity is a 3 cm inner diameter, 3.2 m long Pyrex tube, with plane reflectors against its ends, one of them being a copper mesh coupler. The active medium is a H2O:H2 gas mixture. Successive optimizations lead to a reliable output power of 50 mW, for the EH11 mode. The power density is the highest ever reported, and the stability is such that the power drifts by less than 2% per hour. This laser is competitive with the optically pumped 118.8 m CH3OH laser. 相似文献

This paper reports on a technique developed to fix the polarization of the output beam of a CW 119 μm H2O laser, oscillating in its fundamental mode. A few parallel thin metallic wires stretched inside the cavity, normal to its axis, cause the electric field to align itself perpendicular to the wires. Testing of various configurations leads to an optimum device corresponding to 94% polarization, with a laser power reduction of only 12% due to the presence of the wires. 相似文献

Sensitive detection of hydrogen sulfide(H2S) has been performed by means of wavelength modulation spectroscopy(WMS) near 1.578 μm. With the scan amplitude and the stability of the background baseline taken into account, the response time is 4 s for a 0.8 L multi-pass cell with a 56.7 m effective optical path length. Moreover, the linearity has been tested in the 0–50 ppmv range. The detection limit achievable by the Allan variance is 224 ppb within 24 s under room temperature and ambient pressure conditions. This tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy(TDLAS) system for H2 S detection has the feasibility of real-time online monitoring in many applications. 相似文献

Conclusion There are developed techniques for the preparation of diode lasers in the 1.3 to 1.8 m range on the basis of quaternary epitaxial heterostructure. Devices for a particular wavelength of 1.3 m are now commercially available. The state of art in the laser studies with connection to lower room-temperature threshold and to higher operation temperature is illustrated in fig. 9. We feel that the laser system of InGaAsP, which is known since 1974 [1, 2], may be elaborated further for higher laser characteristics in spite of the fact that present state is quite acceptable for different applications. We fully demonstrate the special requirements of a mid-infrared all-optical wavelength converter. We report a wavelength swept fiber laser at the 1 μm region based on an actively mode-locked dispersion-tuning technique. The ring-cavity laser uses a 70 cm ytterbium-doped fiber as a gain medium. Mode locking is achieved by the direct modulation of the amplitude modulator, and a ~1000 m single-mode fiber is used to provide the desired intracavity dispersion. By sine-modulating the modulation frequency, a wavelength swept laser with a range of ~30 nm can be achieved at a sweeping rate of 50 Hz. The characteristics of the laser, such as its singlewavelength tuning range, tuning sensitivity, static linewidth and sweeping rate, are also studied experimentally. 相似文献

We report a continuous-wave Er:ZBLAN fiber laser with the operation wavelength reaching 3.68 μm.The midinfrared Er:ZBLAN fiber laser is pumped with the dual-wavelength sources consisting of a commercial laser diode at 970 nm and a homemade Tm-doped fiber laser at 1973 nm.By increasing the launched pump power at1973 nm,the laser wavelength can be switched from 3.52 to 3.68 μm.The maximum output power of 0.85 W is obtained with a slope efficiency of 25.14% with respect to the 1973 nm pump power.In the experiment,the laser emission at 3.68 μm is obtained with a significant power of 0.62 W,which is the longest emission wavelength in free-running Er:ZBLAN fiber lasers. 相似文献

A fiber coupled module is fabricated with integrating the emitting light from four laser diode bars into multimode fiber bundle.The continuous wave(CW)output power of the module is about 130 W with a coupling efficiency of around 80%.The output power is very stable after the temperature cycling and vibration test.No apparent power decrease has been observed as the device working continuously for 500 h. 相似文献
