Dially(4-fluorophenyl)phosphine and allyl(t-butylamino)phenylphosphine were pyrolyzed in a stirred-flow reactor at 340–420°C/9–19 Torr, using toluene as carrier gas. The primary reaction products were propene, 1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1-phosphabutadiene, and 1-phenyl-2-t-butyliminophosphine. The phosphorus-containing products gave rise to [4 + 2] and [2 + 2] cycloaddition products, respectively. The consumption of these phosphines showed first-order kinetics, with the rate coefficients following the Arrhenius equations: Dially(4-fluorophenyl)phosphine: k(s−1) = 109.00±0.32 exp (- 122 ± 4 kJ/mol RT) Allyl(t-butylamino)phenylphosphine: k(s−1) = 109.04±0.25 exp (-113 ± 3 kJ/mol RT) The results support a six-center cyclic transition-state unimolecular elimination reaction mechanism for both reactants. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The gas phase elimination of 4-(methylthio)-1-butyl acetate and 1-chloro-4-(methylthio)-butane has been investigated in a seasoned, static reaction vessel over the temperature range of 310–410°C and the pressure range of 46–193 Torr. The presence of the inhibitors propene, cyclohexene, and/or toluene had no effect on the rates. The reactions are homogeneous, unimolecular, and obey a first-order rate law. The rate coefficients are given by the following Arrhenius equations: for 4-(methylthio)-1-butyl acetate, log k1(s?1) = (12.32 ± 0.29) ? (192.1 ± 3.6) kJ/mol/2.303RT; for 1-chloro-4-(methylthio)-butane, log k1(s?1) = (12.23 ± 0.59) ? (175.7 ± 6.8) kJ/mol/2.303RT. The CH3S substituent in 1-chloro-4-(methylthio)-butane has been found to participate in the elimination reaction, where tetrahydrothiophene and methyl chloride formation may result from an intimate ion-pair type of mechanism. The yield of a cyclic product in gas phase reactions provides additional evidence of an intimate ion pair mechanism through neighboring group participation in gas phase elimination of special types of organic halides.  相似文献

The gas phase elimination kinetics of the title compound was studied over the temperature range of 260.1–315.0°C and pressure range of 20–70 Torr. This elimination, in seasoned static reaction system and in the presence of at least fourfold of the free radical inhibitor toluene, is homogeneous, unimolecular and follows a first‐order rate law. The reaction yielded mainly benzaldehyde, CO, and HBr, and small amounts of benzylbromide and CO2. The observed rate coefficients are expressed by the following Arrhenius equations: For benzaldehyde formation: log k1 (s−1) = (12.23 ± 0.26) − (164.9 ± 2.7) kJ mol−1 (2.303 RT)−1 For benzylbromide formation: log k1 (s−1) = (13.82 ± 0.50) − (192.8 ± 5.5) kJ mol−1 (2.303 RT)−1 The mechanisms are believed to proceed through a semi‐polar five‐membered cyclic transition state for the benzaldehyde formation, while a four‐centered cyclic transition state for benzylbromide formation. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The rates of elimination of 5-chloropentan-2-one and 4-chloro-1-phenylbutan-1-one in the gas phase have been determined in a static system, seasoned with allyl bromide, and in the presence of the chain inhibitor propene. The reactions are unimolecular and follow a first-order rate law. The working temperature and pressure ranges were 339.4–401.1°C and 46–117 torr, respectively. The rate coefficients for the homogeneous reactions are given by the following Arrhenius equations: for 5-chloropentan-2-one, log k1(s?1) = (13.12 ± 0.88) - (207.8 ± 11.0)kJ/mol/2.303RT; and for 4-chloro-1-phenylbutan-1-one, log k1(s?1) = (12.28 ± 1.09) - (185.2 ± 12.0)kJ/mol/2.303RT. The carbonyl group at the γ position of the C? Cl bond of haloketones apparently participates in the rate of pyrolysis. The five-membered conformation appears to be a favorable structure for anchimeric assistance of the C?O group in the gas-phase elimination of chloroketones.  相似文献

The gas phase elimination of methyl 4-chlorobutyrate and methyl 5-chlorovalerate has been reexamined, in a static system and seasoned vessel, over the temperature range of 419.6–472.1°C and pressure range of 45–108 torr. The reactions, under maximum inhibition with propene, are homogeneous, unimolecular, and obey a first-order rate law. The rate coefficients are given by the following Arrhenius equations: for methyl 4-chlorobutyrate, log (k1(s?1) = (13.41 ± 0.60) - (226.8 ± 8.2) kJ/mol/2.303RT; and for methyl 5-chlorovalerate, log k1(s?1) = (13.20 ± 0.02) - (227.6 ± 0.3) kJ / mol / 2.303RT. The pyrolysis rates are found to be about a half of the rates reported in a previous work. As already advanced, the carbomethoxy substituent appears to provide anchimeric assistance in the elimination process, where normal dehydrochlorination and lactone formation arise from an intimate ion pair type mechanism. The partial rates towards each of these products have been determined and reported.  相似文献

The gas‐phase kinetics and mechanism of the homogeneous elimination of CO from butyraldehyde in the presence of HCl has been experimentally studied. The reaction is homogeneous and follows the second‐order kinetics with the following rate expression: log k 1 (s−1 L mol−1) = (13.27 ± 0.36) – (173.2 ± 4.4) kJ mol−1(2.303RT )−1. Experimental data suggested a concerted four‐membered cyclic transition state type of mechanism. The first and rate‐determining step occurs through a four‐membered cyclic transition state to produce propane and formyl chloride. The formyl chloride intermediate rapidly decomposes to CO and HCl gases.  相似文献

Satisfactory kinetic determinations of several aliphatic 1,3-diols were difficult to obtain. Moreover the product distributions from each of these substrates suggest complex parallel mechanisms. However, the elimination kinetic of 2,4-dimethyl-2,4-pentanediol has been measured over the temperature range of 419.7–459.9°C and pressure range of 47–115 torr. The reaction carried out by employing a static system, in seasoned vessel, and in the presence of the free-radical inhibitor propene, proved to be homogeneous, unimolecular, and follows a first-order rate law. The products are acetone, isobutene, and H2O. The rate coefficient is expressed by the following Arrhenius equation: log k1(s−1)=(12.53±0.58)−(217.3±8.0) kJ mol−1 (2.303RT)−1. The pyrolytic elimination of this substrate is believed to proceed through a concerted six-membered cyclic transition-state type of mechanism. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. By conducting an excimer laser photolysis (193 and 248 nm) behind shock waves, three elementary reactions important in the oxidation of H2S have been examined, where, H, O, and S atoms have been monitored by the atomic resonance absorption spectrometry. For HS + O2 → products (1), the rate constants evaluated by numerical simulations are summarized as: k1 = 3.1 × 10−11exp|-75 kJ mol−1/RT| cm3molecule−1s−1 (T = 1400-1850 K) with an uncertainty factor of about 2. Direct measurements of the rate constants for S + O2 → SO + O (2), and SO + O2 → SO2 + O (3) yield k2 = (2.5 ± 0.6) × 10−11 exp|-(15.3 ± 2.5) kJ mol−1/RT| cm3molecule−1s−1 (T = 980-1610 K) and, k3 = (1.7 ± 0.9) × 10−12 exp|-(34 ± 11) kJ mol−1/RT| cm3molecule−1s−1 (T = 1130-1640 K), respectively. By summarizing these data together with the recent experimental results on the H(SINGLE BOND)S(SINGLE BOND)O reaction systems, a new kinetic model for the H2S oxidation process is constructed. It is found that this simple reaction scheme is consistent with the experimental result on the induction time of SO2 formation obtained by Bradley and Dobson. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The kinetics of the gas‐phase elimination kinetics of CO2 from furoic acid was determined in a static system over the temperature range 415–455°C and pressure range 20–50 Torr. The products are furan and carbon dioxide. The reaction, which is carried out in vessels seasoned with allyl bromide and in the presence of the free‐radical suppressor toluene and/or propene, is homogeneous, unimolecular, and follows a first‐order rate law. The observed rate coefficient is expressed by the following Arrhenius equation: log k1(s?1) = (13.28 ± 0.16) ? (220.5 ± 2.1) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1. Theoretical studies carried out at the B3LYP/6‐31++G** computational level suggest two possible mechanisms according to the kinetics and thermodynamic parameters calculated compared with experimental values. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The gas-phase elimination of several polar substituents at the α carbon of ethyl acetates has been studied in a static system over the temperature range of 310–410°C and the pressure range of 39–313 torr. These reactions are homogeneous in both clean and seasoned vessels, follow a first-order rate law, and are unimolecular. The temperature dependence of the rate coefficients is given by the following Arrhenius equations: 2-acetoxypropionitrile, log k1 (s?1) = (12.88 ± 0.29) – (203.3 ± 2.6) kJ/mol (2.303RT)?1; for 3-acetoxy-2-butanone, log ±1(s?1) = (13.40 ± 0.20) – (202.8 ± 2.4) kJ/mol (2.303RT)?1; for 1,1,1-trichloro-2-acetoxypropane, log ?1 (s?1) = (12.12 ± 0.50) – (193.7 ± 6.0) kJ/mol (2.303RT)?; for methyl 2-acetoxypropionate, log ?1 (s?1) = (13.45 ± 0.05) – (209.5 ± 0.5) kJ/mol (2.303RT)?1; for 1-chloro-2-acetoxypropane, log ?1 (s?1) = (12.95 ± 0.15) – (197.5 ± 1.8) kJ/mol (2.303RT)?1; for 1-fluoro-2-acetoxypropane, log ?1 (s?1) = (12.83 ± 0.15)– (197.8 ± 1.8) kJ/mol (2.303RT)?1; for 1-dimethylamino-2-acetoxypropane, log ?1 (s?1) = (12.66 ± 0.22) –(185.9 ± 2.5) kJ/mol (2.303RT)?1; for 1-phenyl-2-acetoxypropane, log ?1 (s?1) = (12.53 ± 0.20) – (180.1 ± 2.3) kJ/mol (2.303RT)?1; and for 1-phenyl?3?acetoxybutane, log ?1 (s?1) = (12.33 ± 0.25) – (179.8 ± 2.9) kJ/mol (2.303RT)?1. The Cα? O bond polarization appears to be the rate-determining process in the transmition state of these pyrolysis reactions. Linear correlations of electron-releasing and electron-withdrawing groups along strong σ bonds have been projected and discussed. The present work may provide a general view on the effect of alkyl and polar substituents at the Cα? O bond in the gas-phase elimination of secondary acetates.  相似文献

The gas‐phase elimination kinetics of ethyl 2‐furoate and 2‐ethyl 2‐thiophenecarboxylate was carried out in a static reaction system over the temperature range of 623.15–683.15 K (350–410°C) and pressure range of 30–113 Torr. The reactions proved to be homogeneous, unimolecular, and obey a first‐order rate law. The rate coefficients are expressed by the following Arrhenius equations: ethyl 2‐furoate, log k1 (s?1) = (11.51 ± 0.17)–(185.6 ± 2.2) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1; ethyl 2‐thiophenecarboxylate, log k1 (s?1) = (11.59 ± 0.19)–(183.8 ± 2.4) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1. The elimination products are ethylene and the corresponding heteroaromatic 2‐carboxylic acid. However, as the reaction temperature increases, the intermediate heteroaromatic carboxylic acid products slowly decarboxylate to give the corresponding heteroaromatic furan and thiophene, respectively. The mechanisms of these reactions are suggested and described. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 41: 145–152, 2009  相似文献

The rate coefficients for the gas-phase pyrolyses of a series of structurally related secondary acetates have been measured in a static system over the temperature range of 289.1–359.5°C and the pressure range 50.0–203.0 torr. The temperature dependence of the rate coefficients is given by the following Arrhenius equations: for 3-hexyl acetate, log k1 (s?) = (12.12 ± 0.33) ? (176.1 ± 3.9)kJ/mol/2.203RT; for 5-methyl-3-hexyl acetate, log k1 (s?) = (13.17 ± 0.20) ? (186.2 ± 2.3)kJ/mol/2.303RT; and for 5,5-dimethyl-3-hexyl acetate, log k1 (s?) = (12.70 ± 0.19) ? (177.4 ± 2.2)kJ/mol/2.303RT. The direction of elimination of these esters has shown from the invariability of olefin distributions at different temperatures and percentages of decomposition that steric hindrance is a determining factor in the eclipsed cis conformation. Moreover, a more detailed analysis indicates that the greater the alkyl–alkyl interaction, the less favored the elimination tends to be. Otherwise, an increase of alkyl–hydrogen interaction caused steric acceleration to be the determining factor.  相似文献

5-Chloro-2-methylpent-2-ene decomposes at temperatures of 370–420°C with initial pressures from 61to 158 torr to yield hydrogen chloride and a mixture of methylpentadiene isomers. In a static system, with seasoned vessel and propene inhibitor, the reaction is homogeneous, unimolecular, and of the first order. The rate coefficient is expressed by the following Arrhenius equation: log k (sec?1) = (13.43 ± 0.30) ? (215.0 ± 3.7) kJ/mol/2.303RT. The result ofthe present work additionally supports the participation of the neighboringaliphatic olefinic double bond in the rate of HCl elimination of alkenyl chlorides in the gas phase. Moreover, it also confirms the three-membered conformation as the most favored structure for anchimeric assistance.  相似文献

The thermal decomposition of cyanogen azide (NCN3) and the subsequent collision‐induced intersystem crossing (CIISC) process of cyanonitrene (NCN) have been investigated by monitoring excited electronic state 1NCN and ground state 3NCN radicals. NCN was generated by the pyrolysis of NCN3 behind shock waves and by the photolysis of NCN3 at room temperature. Falloff rate constants of the thermal unimolecular decomposition of NCN3 in argon have been extracted from 1NCN concentration–time profiles in the temperature range 617 K <T< 927 K and at two different total densities: k(ρ ≈ 3 × 10?6 mol/cm3)/s?1=4.9 × 109 × exp (?71±14 kJ mol?1/RT) (± 30%); k(ρ ≈ 6 × 10?6 mol/cm3)/s?1=7.5 × 109 × exp (‐71±14 kJ mol?1/RT) (± 30%). In addition, high‐temperature 1NCN absorption cross sections have been determined in the temperature range 618 K <T< 1231 K and can be expressed by σ /(cm2/mol)= 1.0 × 108 ?6.3 × 104 K?1 × T (± 50%). Rate constants for the CIISC process have been measured by monitoring 3NCN in the temperature range 701 K <T< 1256 K resulting in kCIISC (ρ ≈ 1.8 ×10?6 mol/cm3)/ s?1=2.6 × 106× exp (‐36±10 kJ mol?1/RT) (± 20%), kCIISC (ρ ≈ 3.5×10?6 mol/cm3)/ s?1 = 2.0 × 106 × exp (?31±10 kJ mol?1/RT) (± 20%), kCIISC (ρ ≈ 7.0×10?6 mol/cm3)/ s?1=1.4 × 106 × exp (?25±10 kJ mol?1/RT) (± 20%). These values are in good agreement with CIISC rate constants extracted from corresponding 1NCN measurements. The observed nonlinear pressure dependences reveal a pressure saturation effect of the CIISC process. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 45: 30–40, 2013  相似文献

The gas-phase elimination of ethyl 3-methylbutanoate and ethyl 3,3-dimethylbutanoate has been studied, in a static system, over the temperature range of 360–420°C and in the pressure range of 71–286 torr. The reactions are homogeneous, unimolecular, and follow a first-order rate law. The temperature dependence of the rate coefficients is given by the following Arrhenius equations: for ethyl 3-methylbutanoate, log k1 (s?1) = (12.70 ± 0.36) – (202.5 ± 4.4) kJ/mol/2.303RT, and for ethyl 3,3-dimethylbutanoate, log k1 (s?1) = (13.04 ± 0.08) – (207.1 ± 1.0) kJ/mol/2.303RT. Alkyl substituents at the acyl carbon of ethyl esters yield very close values in rates. Consequently it is rather difficult to offer some conclusion concerning the effect of these substituents.  相似文献

The reaction of Cl atoms with a series of C2–C5 unsaturated hydrocarbons has been investigated at atmospheric pressure of 760 Torr over the temperature range 283–323 K in air and N2 diluents. The decay of the hydrocarbons was followed using a gas chromatograph with a flame ionization detector (GC‐FID), and the kinetic constants were determined using a relative rate technique with n‐hexane as a reference compound. The Cl atoms were generated by UV photolysis (λ ≥ 300 nm) of Cl2 molecules. The following absolute rate constants (in units of 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1, with errors representing ±2σ) for the reaction at 295 ± 2 K have been derived from the relative rate constants combined to the value 34.5 × 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 for the Cl + n‐hexane reaction: ethene (9.3 ± 0.6), propyne (22.1 ± 0.3), propene (27.6 ± 0.6), 1‐butene (35.2 ± 0.7), and 1‐pentene (48.3 ± 0.8). The temperature dependence of the reactions can be expressed as simple Arrhenius expressions (in units of 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1): kethene = (0.39 ± 0.22) × 10−11 exp{(226 ± 42)/T}, kpropyne = (4.1 ± 2.5) × 10−11 exp{(118 ± 45)/T}, kpropene = (1.6 ± 1.8) × 10−11 exp{(203 ± 79)/T}, k1‐butene = (1.1 ± 1.3) × 10−11 exp{(245 ± 90)/T}, and k1‐pentene = (4.0 ± 2.2) × 10−11 exp{(423 ± 68)/T}. The applicability of our results to tropospheric chemistry is discussed. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 32: 478–484, 2000  相似文献

A laser photolysis–long path laser absorption (LP‐LPLA) experiment has been used to determine the rate constants for H‐atom abstraction reactions of the dichloride radical anion (Cl2) in aqueous solution. From direct measurements of the decay of Cl2 in the presence of different reactants at pH = 4 and I = 0.1 M the following rate constants at T = 298 K were derived: methanol, (5.1 ± 0.3)·104 M−1 s−1; ethanol, (1.2 ± 0.2)·105 M−1 s−1; 1‐propanol, (1.01 ± 0.07)·105 M−1 s−1; 2‐propanol, (1.9 ± 0.3)·105 M−1 s−1; tert.‐butanol, (2.6 ± 0.5)·104 M−1 s−1; formaldehyde, (3.6 ± 0.5)·104 M−1 s−1; diethylether, (4.0 ± 0.2)·105 M−1 s−1; methyl‐tert.‐butylether, (7 ± 1)·104 M−1 s−1; tetrahydrofuran, (4.8 ± 0.6)·105 M−1 s−1; acetone, (1.41 ± 0.09)·103 M−1 s−1. For the reactions of Cl2 with formic acid and acetic acid rate constants of (8.0 ± 1.4)·104 M−1 s−1 (pH = 0, I = 1.1 M and T = 298 K) and (1.5 ± 0.8) · 103 M−1 s−1 (pH = 0.42, I = 0.48 M and T = 298 K), respectively, were derived. A correlation between the rate constants at T = 298 K for all oxygenated hydrocarbons and the bond dissociation energy (BDE) of the weakest C‐H‐bond of log k2nd = (32.9 ± 8.9) − (0.073 ± 0.022)·BDE/kJ mol−1 is derived. From temperature‐dependent measurements the following Arrhenius expressions were derived: k (Cl2 + HCOOH) = (2.00 ± 0.05)·1010·exp(−(4500 ± 200) K/T) M−1 s−1, Ea = (37 ± 2) kJ mol−1 k (Cl2 + CH3COOH) = (2.7 ± 0.5)·1010·exp(−(4900 ± 1300) K/T) M−1 s−1, Ea = (41 ± 11) kJ mol−1 k (Cl2 + CH3OH) = (5.1 ± 0.9)·1012·exp(−(5500 ± 1500) K/T) M−1 s−1, Ea = (46 ± 13) kJ mol−1 k (Cl2 + CH2(OH)2) = (7.9 ± 0.7)·1010·exp(−(4400 ± 700) K/T) M−1 s−1, Ea = (36 ± 5) kJ mol−1 Finally, in measurements at different ionic strengths (I) a decrease of the rate constant with increasing I has been observed in the reactions of Cl2 with methanol and hydrated formaldehyde. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The kinetics of the gas-phase elimination of several chloroesters were determined in a static system over the temperature range of 410–490°C and the pressure range of 47–236 torr. The reactions in seasoned vessels, and in the presence of a free-radical inhibitor, are homogeneous, unimolecular, and follow a first-order law. The temperature dependence of the rate coefficients is given by the following Arrhenius equations: for methyl 3-chloropropionate, log k1(s?1) = (13.22 ± 0.07) - (231.5 ± 1.0) kJ/mol/2.303RT; for methyl 4-chlorobutyrate, log k1(s?1) = (13.31 ± 0.25) - (221.5 ± 3.4) kJ/mol/2.303RT; and for methyl 5-chlorovalerate, log k1(s?1) = (13.12 ± 0.25) - (221.7 ± 3.2) kJ/mol/2.303RT. Rate enhancements and lactone formation reveal the participation of carbonyl oxygen of the carbomethoxy group. The order COOCH3-5 > COOCH3-6 > COOCH3-4 in assistance is similar to the sequence of group participation in solvolysis reactions. The partial rates for the parallel eliminations to normal dehydrohalogenation products and lactones have been estimated and reported. The present results lead us to consider that an intimate ion-pair mechanism through participation of the carbomethoxy group may well be operating in some of these reactions.  相似文献
