We investigate the low Mach number limit for the isentropic compressible NavierStokes equations with a revised Maxwell’s law(with Galilean invariance) in R3. By applying the uniform estimates of the error system, it is proven that the solutions of the isentropic Navier-Stokes equations with a revised Maxwell’s law converge to that of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations as the Mach number tends to zero. Moreover, the convergence rates are also obtained.  相似文献

In this article,we investigate the global behavior of weak solutions of a simplified Ericksen-Leslie system for compressible flows of nematic liquid crystals in time in a bounded three-dimension domain-arbitrary forces.By adapting the arguments for the compressible Navier-Stokes equations,and carefully analyzing the direction field of liquid crystals in the equations of angular momentum,we show the existence of bounded absorbing sets,global bounded trajectories,and global attractors to weak solutions of compressible flows of nematic liquid crystals with the adiabatic constant γ5/3.  相似文献

In this article, we prove the global existence of weak solutions to the nonisothermal nematic liquid crystal system on T2, on the basis of a new approximate system which is different from the classical Ginzburg-Landau approximation. Local in space energy inequalities are employed to recover the estimates on the second order spatial derivatives of the director fields locally in time, which cannot be derived from the basic energy balance.It is shown that these weak solutions satisfy the temperature equation, and also the total energy equation but away from at most finite many singular times, at which the energy concentration occurs and the director field losses its second order derivatives.  相似文献

We provide an analytical study on the stability of equilibria of rigid rodlike nematic liquid crystalline polymers (LCPs) governed by the Smoluchowski equation with the Maier-Saupe intermolecular potential. We simplify the expression of the free energy of an orientational distribution function of rodlike LCP molecules by properly selecting a coordinate system and then investigate its stability with respect to perturbations of orientational probability density. By computing the Hessian matrix explicitly, we are able to prove the hysteresis phenomenon of nematic LCPs: when the normalized polymer concentration b is below a critical value b*(6.7314863965), the only equilibrium state is isotropic and it is stable; when b*< b < 15/2, two anisotropic (prolate) equilibrium states occur together with a stable isotropic equilibrium state. Here the more aligned prolate state is stable whereas the less aligned prolate state is unstable. When b > 15/2, there are three equilibrium states: a stable prolate state, an unstable isotropic state and an unstable oblate state.  相似文献

From a limit model in electric field obtained by letting the frequency vanish in the time-harmonic Maxwell equations, we consider a limit perturbation model in the tangential boundary trace of the curl of the electric field for localizing numerically certain small electromagnetic inhomogeneities, in a three-dimensional bounded domain. We introduce here two localization procedures resulting from the combination of this limit perturbation model with each of the following inversion processes: the Current Projection method and an Inverse Fourier method. Each localization procedure uses, as data, a finite number of boundary measurements, and is employed in the single inhomogeneity case; only the one based on an Inverse Fourier method is required in the multiple inhomogeneities case. Our localization approach is numerically suitable for the context of inhomogeneities that are not purely electric. We compare the numerical results obtained from the two localization procedures in the single inhomogeneity configuration, and describe, in various settings of multiple inhomogeneities, the results provided by the procedure based on an Inverse Fourier method.  相似文献
