The fundamental framework of micromechanical procedure is generalized to take into account the surface/interface stress effect at the nano-scale. This framework is applied to the derivation of the effective moduli of solids containing nano-inhomogeneities in conjunction with the composite spheres assemblage model, the Mori-Tanaka method and the generalized self-consistent method. Closed-form expressions are given for the bulk and shear moduli, which are shown to be functions of the interface properties and the size of the inhomogeneities. The dependence of the elastic moduli on the size of the inhomogeneities highlights the importance of the surface/interface in analysing the deformation of nano-scale structures. The present results are applicable to analysis of the properties of nano-composites and foam structures.  相似文献

Sets of physical constants are tabulated for three structural models of fibrous composites with fibers of four types: Thornel-300 carbon microfibers, graphite whiskers, carbon zigzag nanotubes, and carbon chiral nanotubes. The matrix for all the types of composites is always éPON-828 epoxy rosin (in some cases with polystyrene or pyrex additive). The elastic field induced by a hemispherical inclusion with uniform eigeustralns in asemi-infinite elastic medium is solved by using the Green‘s function method and series expansion tech-nique. The exact solutions axe presented for the displacement and stress fields which can be expressedby complete elliptic integrals of the first, second, and third kinds and hypergeometric functions. Thepresent method can be used to determine the corresponding elastic fields when the shape of the inclusionis a spherical crown or a spherical segment. This paper is concerned with the axisymmetrical elastic fields caused by an ellipsoidal inclusion with a slipping interface which undergoes a uniform eigenstrain. The problem is solved under a revolving ellipsoidal coordinate with the aid of Papkovich-Neuber general dipacement formula. In contrast to the perfectly bonded interface, when the interface between the inclusion and the matrix cannot sustain shear stress, and is free to slip, the solution cannot be expressed in closed form and involves infinite series. Therefore, the results are illustrated by numerical examples.  相似文献

In this paper the equations governing small amplitude motions in a rotating transversely isotropic initially stressed elastic solid are derived, both for compressible and incompressible linearly elastic materials. The equations are first applied to study the effects of initial stress and rotation on the speed of homogeneous plane waves propagating in a configuration with uniform initial stress. The general forms of the constitutive law, stresses and the elasticity tensor are derived within the finite deformation context and then summarized for the considered transversely isotropic material with initial stress in terms of invariants, following which they are specialized for linear elastic response and, for an incompressible material, to the case of plane strain, which involves considerable simplification. The equations for two-dimensional motions in the considered plane are then applied to the study of Rayleigh waves in a rotating half-space with the initial stress parallel to its boundary and the preferred direction of transverse isotropy either parallel to or normal to the boundary within the sagittal plane. The secular equation governing the wave speed is then derived for a general strain–energy function in the plane strain specialization, which involves only two material parameters. The results are illustrated graphically, first by showing how the wave speed depends on the material parameters and the rotation without specifying the constitutive law and, second, for a simple material model to highlight the effects of the rotation and initial stress on the surface wave speed.  相似文献

This paper considers a two-dimensional linear unsteady problem of rigid-stamp indentation on an elastic layer of finite thickness lying on the surface of a compressible fluid of infinite depth. The Lamé equations holds for the elastic layer, and the wave equation for the fluid velocity potential. Using the Laplace and Fourier transforms, the problem is reduced to determining the contact stresses under the stamp from the solution of an integral equation of the first kind, whose kernel has a logarithmic singularity. The propagation of torsional waves in prestressed compound circular cylinders is investigated modeling them by a piecewise-homogeneous body and using the three-dimensional linearized theory of elastic waves in prestressed body. It is assumed that the elastic relations for the components of the cylinders include the Murnaghan potential. The numerical investigations are performed for bronze (Br) or brass (Pr) (for the solid cylinder) and steel (St) (for the hollow cylinder). The effect of the variation of the geometric (the ratio of the thickness of the outer cylinder to the radius of the inner cylinder) and mechanical parameters on the dispersion curves are analyzed using the numerical results obtained  相似文献

In this paper, a total criterion on elastic and fatigue failure in complex stress, that is, octahedral stress strength theory on dynamic and static states on the basis of studying modern and classic strength theories. At the same time, an analysis of an independent and fairly comprehensive theoretical system is set up. It gives generalized failure factor by 36 materials and computative theory of the 11 states of complex stresses on a point, and derives the operator equation on generalized allowable strength and a computative method for a total equation can be applied to dynamic and static states. It is illustrated that the method has a good exactness through computation of eight examples of engineering. Therefore, the author suggests applying it to engineering widely.  相似文献

A semi-infinite prismatic cylinder composed of a linear anisotropic classical elastic material is in equilibrium under zero body force and either zero displacement or zero traction on the lateral boundary. The elastic moduli become perturbed. Under suitable conditions on the base load decay estimates are derived for the difference between corresponding quantities in the unperturbed and perturbed bodies. The amplitude in each estimate involves a multiplicative factor that tends to zero as the perturbation tends to zero. The analysis, based upon a first-order differential inequality, introduces apparently new modifications of Korn's inequalities of the first and second kind.  相似文献

The present paper presents a general treatment of the transient thermoelastic stresses in a rotating nonhomogeneous anisotropic solid under compressive initial stress. The system of fundamental equations is solved by means of a boundary element method (BEM) and the numerical calculations are carried out for the temperature, displacement components and stress components. The results indicate that the effects of inhomogeneity and initial stress are very pronounced.  相似文献

In this article, we investigate the influence of heat and mass transfer on the peristaltic flow of magnetohydrodynamic second‐order fluid in a channel when the induced magnetic field effects are present. Problem formulation in a wave frame of reference is presented. The governing nonlinear analysis is carried out under the assumption of small wave number. Explicit expressions of the pressure gradient, the stream function, the magnetic force function, the axial induced magnetic field, the current density distribution, the temperature, and the concentration distribution are derived. The structure of the electric fields and current is studied for stationary plasma flow in an axially symmetric, spatially periodic magnetic field. A full waveform recording in a borehole during acoustic logging makes it possible to determine the elastic parameters of a medium under in-situ conditions.The velocity of elastic wave propagation in rocks and elastic moduli are influenced by factors connected with its macrostructure and microstructure, as well as with rock overburden and porous pressure and temperature.The results of the calculations of the relationships between the elastic and reservoir parameters of sedimentary rocks are presented in this paper. The theoretical Kuster and Toksöz model has been applied.The influence of the porosity, the pore space coefficient, and the saturation of different media of porous rocks on elastic moduli and on compressional and shear wave propagation have been considered in this model.
