In this paper, we compute \(K\) -groups \(\{K_{n}(C^{*}(x))\}_{n=0}^{\infty }\) of the \(C^{*}\) -subalgebra \(C^{*}(x)\) of \(B(H),\) generated by a single operator \(x,\) where \(H\) is a separable infinite dimensional Hilbert space, and \(B(H)\) is the operator algebra consisting of all (bounded linear) operators on \(H.\) These computations not only provide nice examples in \(K\) -theory, but also characterize-and-classify projections in a \(C^{*}\) -algebra generated by a single operator. The main result of this paper shows that: the \(K\) -groups of \(C^{*}(x)\) are completely characterized by those of \(C^{*}(q),\) where \(q\) is the positive-operator part of \(x\) in the polar decomposition of \(x.\)   相似文献

In this paper we consider functions \(f\) defined on an open set \(U\) of the Euclidean space \(\mathbb{R }^{n+1}\) and with values in the Clifford Algebra \(\mathbb{R }_n\) . Slice monogenic functions \(f: U \subseteq \mathbb{R }^{n+1} \rightarrow \mathbb{R }_n\) belong to the kernel of the global differential operator with non constant coefficients given by \( \mathcal{G }=|{\underline{x}}|^2\frac{\partial }{\partial x_0} \ + \ {\underline{x}} \ \sum _{j=1}^n x_j\frac{\partial }{\partial x_j}. \) Since the operator \(\mathcal{G }\) is not elliptic and there is a degeneracy in \( {\underline{x}}=0\) , its kernel contains also less smooth functions that have to be interpreted as distributions. We study the distributional solutions of the differential equation \(\mathcal{G }F(x_0,{\underline{x}})=G(x_0,{\underline{x}})\) and some of its variations. In particular, we focus our attention on the solutions of the differential equation \( ({\underline{x}}\frac{\partial }{\partial x_0} \ - E)F(x_0,{\underline{x}})=G(x_0,{\underline{x}}), \) where \(E= \sum _{j=1}^n x_j\frac{\partial }{\partial x_j}\) is the Euler operator, from which we deduce properties of the solutions of the equation \( \mathcal{G }F(x_0,{\underline{x}})=G(x_0,{\underline{x}})\) .  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global boundary regularity of the \(\bar{\partial }\) - equation on an annulus domain \(\Omega \) between two strictly \(q\) -convex domains with smooth boundaries in \(\mathbb{C }^n\) for some bidegree. To this finish, we first show that the \(\bar{\partial }\) -operator has closed range on \(L^{2}_{r, s}(\Omega )\) and the \(\bar{\partial }\) -Neumann operator exists and is compact on \(L^{2}_{r,s}(\Omega )\) for all \(r\ge 0\) , \(q\le s\le n-q- 1\) . We also prove that the \(\bar{\partial }\) -Neumann operator and the Bergman projection operator are continuous on the Sobolev space \(W^{k}_{r,s}(\Omega )\) , \(k\ge 0\) , \(r\ge 0\) , and \(q\le s\le n-q-1\) . Consequently, the \(L^{2}\) -existence theorem for the \(\bar{\partial }\) -equation on such domain is established. As an application, we obtain a global solution for the \(\bar{\partial }\) equation with Hölder and \(L^p\) -estimates on strictly \(q\) -concave domain with smooth \(\mathcal C ^2\) boundary in \(\mathbb{C }^n\) , by using the local solutions and applying the pushing out method of Kerzman (Commun Pure Appl Math 24:301–380, 1971).  相似文献

In this paper, we study a composition operator ${C_{\varphi}}$ on the weighted Bergman space ${A_{\alpha}^p(B)}$ of the unit ball B in ${{\mathbb{C}}^N}$ . Under a natural condition we estimate the essential norm of ${C_{\varphi}}$ . As a consequence of this estimate, we also give a function-theoretic characterization of ${\varphi}$ that induces a compact composition operator on ${A_{\alpha}^p(B)}$ .  相似文献

Consider a multivalued formal function of the type 1 $$\begin{aligned} \varphi (s) : = \sum _{j=0}^k\,c_j(s).s^{\lambda + m_j}.(\mathrm{Log}\,s)^j, \end{aligned}$$ where \(\lambda \) is a positive rational number, \(c_j\) is in \({{\mathrm{\mathbb {C}}}}[[s]]\) and \(m_j \in \mathbb {N}\) for \(j \in [0,k-1]\) . The theme associated with such a \(\varphi \) is the “minimal filtered integral equation” satisfied by \(\varphi \) , in a sense which is made precise in this article. We study such objects and show that their isomorphism classes may be characterized by a finite set of complex numbers, when we assume the Bernstein polynomial of \(\varphi \) to be fixed. For a given \(\lambda \) , to fix the Bernstein polynomial is equivalent to fix a finite set of integers associated with the logarithm of the monodromy in the geometric situation described below. Our aim is to construct some analytic invariants, for instance in the following situation, let \(f : X \rightarrow D\) be a proper holomorphic function defined on a complex manifold \(X\) with values in a disc \(D\) . We assume that the only critical value is \(0 \in D\) and we consider this situation as a degenerating family of compact complex manifolds to a singular compact complex space \(f^{-1}(0)\) . To a smooth \((p+1)\) -form \(\omega \) on \(X\) such that \(\mathrm{d}\omega = 0 = \mathrm{d}f \wedge \omega \) and to a vanishing \(p\) -cycle \(\gamma \) chosen in the generic fiber \(f^{-1}(s_0), s_0 \in D \setminus \{0\}\) , we associated a “vanishing period” \(F_{\gamma }(s) : = \int _{\gamma _s} \omega \big /\mathrm{d}f \) which has an asymptotic expansion at \(0\) of the form \((1)\) above, when \(\gamma \) is chosen in the spectral subspace of \(H_p(f^{-1}(s_0), {{\mathrm{\mathbb {C}}}})\) for the eigenvalue \(\mathrm{e}^{2i\pi .\lambda }\) of the monodromy of \(f\) . Here \((\gamma _s)_{s \in D^*}\) is the horizontal multivalued family of \(p\) -cycles in the fibers of \(f\) obtained from the choice of \(\gamma \) . The aim of this article was to study the module generated by such a \(\varphi \) over the algebra \(\tilde{\mathcal {A}}\) , which is the \(b\) -completion of the algebra \(\mathcal {A}\) generated by the operators \(\mathrm{a} : = \times s\) and \(\mathrm{b} : = \int _{0}^{s}\) .  相似文献

The Lipschitz space ${\mathcal{L}}$ of an infinite tree T rooted at o is defined as the space consisting of the functions ${f : T \rightarrow \mathbb{C}}$ such that $$\beta_f = {\rm sup}\{|f(v) - f(v^-)| : v \in T\backslash\{o\}, \,v^- {\rm parent \, of \,} v\}$$ is finite. Under the norm ${\|f\|_\mathcal{L} = |f(o)|+\beta_f,\mathcal{L}}$ is a Banach space. In this article, the functions φ mapping T into itself whose induced composition operator ${C_{\varphi} : f \mapsto f \circ \varphi}$ on the Lipschitz space is bounded, compact, or an isometry, are characterized. Specifically, it is shown that the symbols of the bounded composition operators are the Lipschitz maps of T into itself viewed as a metric space under the edge-counting distance. The symbols inducing compact operators have finite range while those inducing isometries on ${\mathcal{L}}$ are precisely the onto maps fixing the root and whose images of neighboring vertices coincide or are themselves neighboring vertices. Finally, the spectrum of the operators ${C_\varphi}$ that are isometries is studied in detail.  相似文献

Let \(S_{\alpha ,\psi }(f)\) be the square function defined by means of the cone in \({\mathbb R}^{n+1}_{+}\) of aperture \(\alpha \) , and a standard kernel \(\psi \) . Let \([w]_{A_p}\) denote the \(A_p\) characteristic of the weight \(w\) . We show that for any \(1<p<\infty \) and \(\alpha \ge 1\) , $$\begin{aligned} \Vert S_{\alpha ,\psi }\Vert _{L^p(w)}\lesssim \alpha ^n[w]_{A_p}^{\max \left( \frac{1}{2},\frac{1}{p-1}\right) }. \end{aligned}$$ For each fixed \(\alpha \) the dependence on \([w]_{A_p}\) is sharp. Also, on all class \(A_p\) the result is sharp in \(\alpha \) . Previously this estimate was proved in the case \(\alpha =1\) using the intrinsic square function. However, that approach does not allow to get the above estimate with sharp dependence on \(\alpha \) . Hence we give a different proof suitable for all \(\alpha \ge 1\) and avoiding the notion of the intrinsic square function.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the \(d\) -dimensional extension of the classical identity of Stein and Weiss concerning the action of the Hilbert transform on characteristic functions. Let \((R_j)_{j=1}^d\) be the collection of Riesz transforms in \(\mathbb{R }^d\) . For \(1\le p<\infty \) , we determine the least constants \(c_{p,d}, C_{p,d}\) such that $$\begin{aligned} \int _{\mathbb{R }^d} f(x)|R_jf(x)|^p\text{ d }x&\le c_{p,d} ||f||_{L^1(\mathbb{R }^d)},\\ \int _{\mathbb{R }^d} (1-f(x))|R_jf(x)|^p\text{ d }x&\le C_{p,d} ||f||_{L^1(\mathbb{R }^d)} \end{aligned}$$ for any Borel function \(f:\mathbb{R }^d\rightarrow [0,1]\) . The proof rests on probabilistic methods and the construction of appropriate harmonic functions on \([0,1]\times \mathbb{R }\) .  相似文献

In this paper, we give a new characterization for the boundedness of the product of differentiation and composition operators ${C_\varphi D^m}$ acting on Bloch-type spaces and obtain an estimate for its essential norm in terms of the sequence ${\{z^n\}^{\infty}_{n=1}}$ , from which the sufficient and necessary condition of compactness of the operator ${C_\varphi D^m}$ follows immediately.  相似文献

For ?? > 0, the Banach space ${\mathcal{F}_{\alpha}}$ is defined as the collection of functions f which can be represented as integral transforms of an appropriate kernel against a Borel measure defined on the unit circle T. Let ?? be an analytic self-map of the unit disc D. The map ?? induces a composition operator on ${\mathcal{F}_{\alpha}}$ if ${C_{\Phi}(f) = f \circ \Phi \in \mathcal{F}_{\alpha}}$ for any function ${f \in \mathcal{F}_{\alpha}}$ . Various conditions on ?? are given, sufficient to imply that C ?? is bounded on ${\mathcal{F}_{\alpha}}$ , in the case 0 < ?? < 1. Several of the conditions involve ???? and the theory of multipliers of the space ${\mathcal{F}_{\alpha}}$ . Relations are found between the behavior of C ?? and the membership of ?? in the Dirichlet spaces. Conditions given in terms of the generalized Nevanlinna counting function are shown to imply that ?? induces a bounded composition operator on ${\mathcal{F}_{\alpha}}$ , in the case 1/2 ?? ?? < 1. For such ??, examples are constructed such that ${\| \Phi \|_{\infty} = 1}$ and ${C_{\Phi}: \mathcal{F}_{\alpha} \rightarrow \mathcal{F}_{\alpha}}$ is bounded.  相似文献

The space of entire functions \(\mathcal {F}_{\alpha }^{\infty }\) is mentioned in the paper of S. Janson, J. Peetre, and R. Rochberg. In this paper, we establish a characterization for the space \(\mathcal {F}_{\alpha }^{\infty }\) by \(n\) -th derivatives of entire functions. As an application of this result, we study the boundedness of Li-Stevi?’s integral operators and estimate essential norms of these operators acting on \(\mathcal {F}_{\alpha }^{\infty }\) . Furthermore we describe complete characterizations for boundedness and compactness of the Volterra-type integral operators on \(\mathcal {F}_{\alpha }^{\infty }\) .  相似文献

Let \(A = -\mathrm{div} \,a(\cdot ) \nabla \) be a second order divergence form elliptic operator on \({\mathbb R}^n\) with bounded measurable real-valued coefficients and let \(W\) be a cylindrical Brownian motion in a Hilbert space \(H\) . Our main result implies that the stochastic convolution process $$\begin{aligned} u(t) = \int _0^t e^{-(t-s)A}g(s)\,dW(s), \quad t\geqslant 0, \end{aligned}$$ satisfies, for all \(1\leqslant p<\infty \) , a conical maximal \(L^p\) -regularity estimate $$\begin{aligned} {\mathbb E}\Vert \nabla u \Vert _{ T_2^{p,2}({\mathbb R}_+\times {\mathbb R}^n)}^p \leqslant C_p^p {\mathbb E}\Vert g \Vert _{ T_2^{p,2}({\mathbb R}_+\times {\mathbb R}^n;H)}^p. \end{aligned}$$ Here, \(T_2^{p,2}({\mathbb R}_+\times {\mathbb R}^n)\) and \(T_2^{p,2}({\mathbb R}_+\times {\mathbb R}^n;H)\) are the parabolic tent spaces of real-valued and \(H\) -valued functions, respectively. This contrasts with Krylov’s maximal \(L^p\) -regularity estimate $$\begin{aligned} {\mathbb E}\Vert \nabla u \Vert _{L^p({\mathbb R}_+;L^2({\mathbb R}^n;{\mathbb R}^n))}^p \leqslant C^p {\mathbb E}\Vert g \Vert _{L^p({\mathbb R}_+;L^2({\mathbb R}^n;H))}^p \end{aligned}$$ which is known to hold only for \(2\leqslant p<\infty \) , even when \(A = -\Delta \) and \(H = {\mathbb R}\) . The proof is based on an \(L^2\) -estimate and extrapolation arguments which use the fact that \(A\) satisfies suitable off-diagonal bounds. Our results are applied to obtain conical stochastic maximal \(L^p\) -regularity for a class of nonlinear SPDEs with rough initial data.  相似文献

Various properties of the system \({\mathcal {B}}_{\psi }\) of integer translates of a square integrable function \(\psi \in L^2({\mathbb {R}})\) can be completely described in terms of the periodization function \(p_{\psi }(\xi )=\sum _{k\in {\mathbb {Z}}}|\widehat{\psi }(\xi +k)|^2\) . In this paper, we consider the problem of \(\ell ^p\) -linear independence, where \(p>2\) . The results we present include the method of construction for one type of counterexamples to several naturally taken conjectures, a new sufficient condition for \(\ell ^p\) -linear independence and a characterization theorem having an additional assumption on \({\mathcal {B}}_{\psi }\) . In the latter, we obtain the characterization in terms of the sets of multiplicity of Lebesgue measure zero.  相似文献

Let ${\|\cdot\|_{\psi}}$ be the absolute norm on ${\mathbb{R}^2}$ corresponding to a convex function ${\psi}$ on [0, 1] and ${C_{\text{NJ}}(\|\cdot\|_{\psi})}$ its von Neumann–Jordan constant. It is known that ${\max \{M_1^2, M_2^2\} \leq C_{\text{NJ}}(\| \cdot \|_{\psi}) \leq M_1^2 M_2^2}$ , where ${M_1 = \max_{0 \leq t \leq 1} \psi(t)/ \psi_2(t)}$ , ${M_2 = \max_{0\leq t \leq 1} \psi_2(t)/ \psi(t)}$ and ${\psi_2}$ is the corresponding function to the ? 2-norm. In this paper, we shall present a necessary and sufficient condition for the above right side inequality to attain equality. A corollary, which is valid for the complex case, will cover a couple of previous results. Similar results for the James constant will be presented.  相似文献

For a measure preserving transformation \(T\) of a probability space \((X,\mathcal{F },\mu )\) and some \(d \ge 1\) we investigate almost sure and distributional convergence of random variables of the form $$\begin{aligned} x \rightarrow \frac{1}{C_n} \sum _{0\le i_1,\ldots ,\,i_d where \(C_1, C_2,\ldots \) are normalizing constants and the kernel \(f\) belongs to an appropriate subspace in some \(L_p(X^d\!,\, \mathcal{F }^{\otimes d}\!,\,\mu ^d)\) . We establish a form of the individual ergodic theorem for such sequences. Using a filtration compatible with \(T\) and the martingale approximation, we prove a central limit theorem in the non-degenerate case; for a class of canonical (totally degenerate) kernels and \(d=2\) , we also show that the convergence holds in distribution towards a quadratic form \(\sum _{m=1}^{\infty } \lambda _m\eta ^2_m\) in independent standard Gaussian variables \(\eta _1, \eta _2, \ldots \) .  相似文献

Consider a random matrix \(H:{\mathbb {R}}^{n}\longrightarrow {\mathbb {R}}^{m}\) . Let \(D\ge 2\) and let \(\{W_l\}_{l=1}^{p}\) be a set of \(k\) -dimensional affine subspaces of \({\mathbb {R}}^{n}\) . We ask what is the probability that for all \(1\le l\le p\) and \(x,y\in W_l\) , $$\begin{aligned} \Vert x-y\Vert _2\le \Vert Hx-Hy\Vert _2\le D\Vert x-y\Vert _2. \end{aligned}$$ We show that for \(m=O\big (k+\frac{\ln {p}}{\ln {D}}\big )\) and a variety of different classes of random matrices \(H\) , which include the class of Gaussian matrices, existence is assured and the probability is very high. The estimate on \(m\) is tight in terms of \(k,p,D\) .  相似文献

Suppose that \({\mathbb {E}}:=\{E_r(x)\}_{r\in {\mathcal {I}}, x\in X}\) is a family of open subsets of a topological space \(X\) endowed with a nonnegative Borel measure \(\mu \) satisfying certain basic conditions. We establish an \(\mathcal {A}_{{\mathbb {E}}, p}\) weights theory with respect to \({\mathbb {E}}\) and get the characterization of weighted weak type (1,1) and strong type \((p,p)\) , \(1<p\le \infty \) , for the maximal operator \({\mathcal {M}}_{{\mathbb {E}}}\) associated with \({\mathbb {E}}\) . As applications, we introduce the weighted atomic Hardy space \(H^1_{{\mathbb {E}}, w}\) and its dual \(BMO_{{\mathbb {E}},w}\) , and give a maximal function characterization of \(H^1_{{\mathbb {E}},w}\) . Our results generalize several well-known results.  相似文献

We introduce vanishing generalized Morrey spaces ${V\mathcal{L}^{p,\varphi}_\Pi (\Omega), \Omega \subseteq \mathbb{R}^n}$ with a general function ${\varphi(x, r)}$ defining the Morrey-type norm. Here ${\Pi \subseteq \Omega}$ is an arbitrary subset in Ω including the extremal cases ${\Pi = \{x_0\}, x_0 \in \Omega}$ and Π = Ω, which allows to unify vanishing local and global Morrey spaces. In the spaces ${V\mathcal{L}^{p,\varphi}_\Pi (\mathbb{R}^n)}$ we prove the boundedness of a class of sublinear singular operators, which includes Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator and Calderon-Zygmund singular operators with standard kernel. We also prove a Sobolev-Spanne type ${V\mathcal{L}^{p,\varphi}_\Pi (\mathbb{R}^n) \rightarrow V\mathcal{L}^{q,\varphi^\frac{q}{p}}_\Pi (\mathbb{R}^n)}$ -theorem for the potential operator I α . The conditions for the boundedness are given in terms of Zygmund-type integral inequalities on ${\varphi(x, r)}$ . No monotonicity type condition is imposed on ${\varphi(x, r)}$ . In case ${\varphi}$ has quasi- monotone properties, as a consequence of the main results, the conditions of the boundedness are also given in terms of the Matuszeska-Orlicz indices of the function ${\varphi}$ . The proofs are based on pointwise estimates of the modulars defining the vanishing spaces  相似文献

Let $\theta (\zeta )$ be a Schur operator function, i.e., it is defined on the unit disk ${\mathbb D}\,{:=}\,\{\zeta \in {\mathbb C}: |\zeta | < 1\}$ and its values are contractive operators acting from one Hilbert space into another one. In the first part of the paper the outer and $*$ -outer Schur operator functions $\varphi (\zeta )$ and $\psi (\zeta )$ which describe respectively the deviations of the function $\theta (\zeta )$ from inner and $*$ -inner operator functions are studied. If $\varphi (\zeta )\ne 0$ , then it means that in the scattering system for which $\theta (\zeta )$ is the transfer function a portion of “information” comes inward the system and does not go outward, i.e., it is left in the internal channels of the system ([11, Sect. 6]). The function $\psi (\zeta )$ has the analogous property. For this reason these functions are called defect ones of the function $\theta (\zeta )$ . The explicit form of the defect functions $\varphi (\zeta )$ and $\psi (\zeta )$ is obtained and the analytic connection of these functions with the function $\theta (\zeta )$ is described ([11, Sect. 3 and Sect. 5]). The operator functions $\left( \begin{matrix} \varphi (\zeta ) \\ \theta (\zeta ) \end{matrix}\right) $ and $(\psi (\zeta ), \theta (\zeta ))$ are Schur functions as well ([11, Sect. 3]). It is important that there exists the unique contractive operator function $\chi (t),t\in \partial {\mathbb D}$ , such that the operator function $\left( \begin{matrix} \chi (t) &{} \varphi (t) \\ \psi (t) &{} \theta (t) \end{matrix}\right) ,t\in \partial {\mathbb D},$ is also contractive (Sect. 6). The second part of the paper is devoted to introducing and studying the properties of the function $\chi (t)$ . Specifically, it is shown that the function $\chi (t)$ is the scattering suboperator through the internal channels of the scattering system for which $\theta (\zeta )$ is the transfer function (Sect. 6).  相似文献

Closed operators in Hilbert space defined by a non-self-adjoint resolution of the identity \(\{X(\lambda )\}_{\lambda \in {\mathbb R}}\) , whose adjoints constitute also a resolution of the identity, are studied. In particular, it is shown that a closed operator \(B\) has a spectral representation analogous to the familiar one for self-adjoint operators if and only if \(B=\textit{TAT}^{-1}\) where \(A\) is self-adjoint and \(T\) is a bounded inverse.  相似文献
