Model copolymers of poly(butadiene) (PB) and poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS), PB‐b‐PDMS‐b‐PB, were synthesized by sequential anionic polymerization (high vacuum techniques) of 1,3‐butadiene and hexamethylciclotrisiloxane (D3) on sec‐BuLi followed by chlorosilane‐coupling chemistry. The synthesized copolymers were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), size‐exclusion chromatography (SEC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). SEC and 1H NMR results showed low polydispersity indexes (Mw/Mn) and variable siloxane compositions, whereas DSC and TGA experiments indicated that the thermal stability of the triblock copolymers depends on the PDMS composition. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Biodegradable star‐shaped poly(ethylene glycol)‐block‐poly(lactide) copolymers were synthesized by ring‐opening polymerization of lactide, using star poly(ethylene glycol) as an initiator and potassium hexamethyldisilazide as a catalyst. Polymerizations were carried out in toluene at room temperature. Two series of three‐ and four‐armed PEG‐PLA copolymers were synthesized and characterized by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) as well as 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The polymerization under the used conditions is very fast, yielding copolymers of controlled molecular weight and tailored molecular architecture. The chemical structure of the copolymers investigated by 1H and 13C NMR indicates the formation of block copolymers. The monomodal profile of molecular weight distribution by GPC provided further evidence of controlled and defined star‐shaped copolymers as well as the absence of cyclic oligomeric species. The effects of copolymer composition and lactide stereochemistry on the physical properties were investigated by GPC and differential scanning calorimetry. For the same PLA chain length, the materials obtained in the case of linear copolymers are more viscous, whereas in the case of star copolymer, solid materials are obtained with reduction in their Tg and Tm temperatures. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly(1,1‐bis(ethoxycarbonyl)‐2‐vinyl cyclopropane (ECVP)‐graft‐dimethyl siloxane) copolymers were prepared using a macromonomer approach. Poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS) macromonomers were prepared by living anionic polymerization of cyclosiloxanes followed by sequential chain‐end capping with allyl chloroformate. These macromonomers were then copolymerized with ECVP. MALDI‐ToF mass spectrometry and 1H NMR spectroscopy were used to show that the macromonomers had approximately 80% of the end groups functionalized with allyl carbonate groups. Gradient polymer elution chromatography showed that high yields of the graft copolymers were obtained, along with only small fractions of the PECVP and PDMS homopolymers. Differential scanning calorimetry showed that the low glass transition temperature (Tg) of the PDMS component could be maintained in the graft copolymers. However, the Tg was a function of polymer composition and the polymers produced had Tgs that ranged from ?50 to ?120 °C. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2013  相似文献

Copolymers of 2‐methylene‐1,3‐dioxepane (MDO) and methyl acrylate (MA) containing ester units both in the backbone and as pendant groups were synthesized by free‐radical copolymerization. The influence of reaction conditions such as the polymerization time, temperature, initiator concentration, and comonomer feed ratio on the yield, molecular weight, and copolymer composition was investigated. The structure of the copolymers was confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and IR spectroscopy. Differential scanning calorimetry indicated that the copolymers had a random structure. An NMR study showed that hydrogen transfer occurred during the copolymerization. The reactivity ratios of the comonomers were rMDO = 0.0235 and rMA = 26.535. The enzymatic degradation of the copolymers obtained was carried out in the presence of proteinase K or a crude enzyme extracted from earthworms. The experimental results showed that the higher ester molar percentage in the backbone caused a faster degradation rate. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The influence of the comonomer in the synthesis of poly(propylene‐co ?1‐pentene) copolymers, with rac‐(dimethylsilylbis(1‐indenyl))ZrCl2/Methylaluminoxane at low temperature, has been studied. Changes in the catalyst activity and molecular weight have been analyzed as a function of copolymer composition, and associated with both content and nature of chain defects. The thorough characterization of chain‐end double bonds by means of the 1H NMR technique highlights the particular chain termination pathway, which underlies the so‐called comonomer effect. A specific termination mechanism is proposed based on the preferential regio‐irregular interaction of the active site with 1‐pentene molecules, instead of the one related to the β‐H atom of the last regular inserted unit, either propene or 1‐pentene. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Model diblock copolymers of poly(1,4‐butadiene) (PB) and poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS), PB‐b‐PDMS, were synthesized by the sequential anionic polymerization (high vacuum techniques) of butadiene and hexamethylciclotrisiloxane (D3) in the presence of sec‐BuLi. By homogeneous hydrogenation of PB‐b‐PDMS, the corresponding poly(ethylene) and poly(dimethylsiloxane) block copolymers, PE‐b‐PDMS, were obtained. The synthesized block copolymers were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (1H and 13C NMR), size‐exclusion chromatography (SEC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and rheology. SEC combined with 1H NMR analysis indicates that the polydispersity index of the samples (Mw/Mn) is low, and that the chemical composition of the copolymers varies from low to medium PDMS content. According to DSC and TGA experiments, the thermal stability of these block copolymers depends on the PDMS content, whereas TEM analysis reveals ordered arrangements of the microphases. The morphologies observed vary from spherical and cylindrical to lamellar domains. This ordered state (even at high temperatures) was further confirmed by small‐amplitude oscillatory shear flow tests. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Well‐defined tertiary amine‐based pH‐responsive homopolymers and block copolymers were synthesized via reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization using 4‐cyanopentanoic acid dithiobenzoate (CPAD) as the RAFT agent for homopolymers and a poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) macro‐RAFT agent for the block copolymers. 1H NMR and gel permeation chromatography results confirmed the successful synthesis of these homopolymers and block copolymers. Kinetics studies indicated that the formation of both the homopolymers and the block copolymers were well defined. The pKa titration experiments suggested that the homopolymers and the related block copolymers have a similar pKa. The dynamic light scattering investigation showed that all of the block copolymers underwent a sharp transition from unimers to micelles around their pKa and the hydrodynamic diameter (Dh) was not only dependent on the molecular weight but also on the composition of the block copolymers. The polymer solution of PEG‐b‐PPPDEMA formed the largest micelle compare to the PEG‐b‐PDPAEMA and PEG‐b‐PDBAEMA with a similar molecular weight. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer polymerization afforded triple hydrogen‐bonding block copolymers (PBA‐b‐PDAD) with well‐controlled molecular weight and molecular weight distributions (1.2–1.4). The complexation via specific hydrogen bonding between these block copolymers in CHCl3 provided an unprecedented approach for the formation of spherical vesicles. Atomic force microscopy and dynamic light‐scattering measurements revealed that the resultant polymeric vesicles were about 100 nm in radius. Triple hydrogen‐bonding interactions between maleimide and PBA‐b‐PDAD resulted in the dissociation of these spherical vesicles, facilitating the guest molecule recognition. The hydrogen‐bonding interaction between maleimide and the PBA‐b‐PDAD was further confirmed by 1H NMR and FTIR spectra. These results indicated that these vesicles of triple hydrogen‐bonding block copolymer could be a potential new vehicle for molecular recognition. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Novel water‐soluble copolymers containing 4‐difluoro‐4‐bora‐3a,4a‐diaza‐s‐indacene (BODIPY) dyes were synthesized by reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. The copolymers with both number‐average molecular weight between 5.0 × 103 and 5.8 × 103 and narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn < 1.19) were obtained by the copolymerization of (2‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) and BODIPY‐based methyl methacrylate ( 1 ) with 2,2′‐azobis(isobutyronitrile) (AIBN) as an initiator in the presence of cumyl dithiobenzoate (CDB) as a chain transfer agent (CTA). The structures of the resulting copolymers were characterized by 1H, 13C, and 11B NMR spectroscopies, and the comonomer compositions were good consistent with the feed ratio. Characteristic optical properties of the obtained copolymers were investigated by UV‐vis and PL spectroscopic methods. The copolymers composed of [DMAEMA]: [1] = 98.0:2.0 and 99.4:1.4 led to thermoresponsive polymers having phase separation temperatures at 32 °C and 40 °C, respectively, depending on the compositions of hydrophilic/hydrophobic balances. Further, the effective reversible decrease/increase of the emission intensity of the copolymers led to the reversible formation/inhibition of the H‐aggregation between two BODIPY planes in the copolymers on heating and cooling across the border of LCST. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An asymmetric difunctional initiator 2‐phenyl‐2‐[(2,2,6,6 tetramethylpiperidino)oxy] ethyl 2‐bromo propanoate ( 1 ) was used for the synthesis of ABC‐type methyl methacrylate (MMA)‐tert‐butylacrylate (tBA)‐styrene (St) triblock copolymers via a combination of atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and stable free‐radical polymerization (SFRP). The ATRP‐ATRP‐SFRP or SFRP‐ATRP‐ATRP route led to ABC‐type triblock copolymers with controlled molecular weight and moderate polydispersity (Mw/Mn < 1.35). The block copolymers were characterized by gel permeation chromatography and 1H NMR. The retaining chain‐end functionality and the applying halide exchange afforded high blocking efficiency as well as maintained control over entire routes. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We report preliminary results for the synthesis of polyethylene‐graft‐poly(dimethylsiloxane) copolymers obtained by catalytic hydrogenation of polybutadiene‐graft‐poly(dimethylsiloxane) copolymers (PB‐g‐PDMS). These last copolymers were synthesized by hydrosilylation reactions between commercial polybutadiene and ω‐silane poly(dimethylsiloxane). The reaction was carried in solution catalyzed by cis‐dichloro bis(diethylsufide) platinum(II) salt. The PB‐g‐PDMS copolymers were analyzed by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopies, and the relative weight percentages of the grafted poly(dimethylsiloxane) macromonomer were determined from the integrated peak areas of the spectra. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. New block copolymers Polystyrene‐b‐poly (2,2,2‐trifluoroethyl acrylate)‐b‐Polystyrene (PS‐PTFEA‐PS) with controlled molecular weight (Mn=5000‐11000 g?mol?1) and narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn=1.13‐1.17) were synthesized via RAFT polymerization. The molecular structure and component of PS‐PTFEA‐PS block copolymers were characterized through 1H NMR, 19F NMR, GPC, FT‐IR and elemental analysis. The porous films of such copolymers with average pore size of 0.80‐1.34 μm and good regularity were fabricated via a static breath‐figure (BF) process. The effects of solvent, temperature, and polymer concentration on the surface morphology of such film were investigated. In addition, microstructured spheres and fibers of such block copolymers were fabricated by electrospinning process and observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Furthermore, the hydrophobicity of porous films, spheres, and fibers was investigated. The porous film showed a good hydrophobicity with the water‐droplet contact angles of 129°, and the fibers showed higher hydrophobicity with the water‐droplet contact angles of 142°. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Well‐defined diblock and triblock copolymers composed of poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) were successfully synthesized through the reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer polymerization of N‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) with PEO capped with one or two dithiobenzoyl groups as a macrotransfer agent. 1H NMR, Fourier transform infrared, and gel permeation chromatography instruments were used to characterize the block copolymers obtained. The results showed that the diblock and triblock copolymers had well‐defined structures and narrow molecular weight distributions (weight‐average molecular weight/number‐average molecular weight < 1.2), and the molecular weight of the PNIPAM block in the diblock and triblock copolymers could be controlled by the initial molar ratio of NIPAM to dithiobenzoate‐terminated PEO and the NIPAM conversion. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of phenyl modified polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) / polyhydrogenmethylsiloxane (PHMS) random copolymers containing both internal Si‐H and terminal SiH2 and T (MeSiO3/2) units was synthesized in one step through n‐BuLi‐catalyzed ring‐opening polymerization of cyclic comonomers and characterized by GPC, IR and 1H and 29Si NMR. Sequential microstructures of these copolymers were determined by 29Si‐NMR spectroscopy. Epoxy‐modified polysiloxanes were prepared and used as comparable standards for the assignment of the NMR spectra. A hydride‐transfer mechanism has been proposed to account for the formation of terminal Si‐H and T group. Detailed sequential analyses and chemical shifts of 29Si‐NMR for various siloxane units are reported for the first time.  相似文献

Novel thermo‐responsive poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide)‐block‐poly(l ‐lactide)‐block‐poly(N‐isopropylacylamide) (PNIPAAm‐b‐PLLA‐b‐PNIPAAm) triblock copolymers were successfully prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization of NIPAAm with Br‐PLLA‐Br macroinitiator, using a CuCl/tris(2‐dimethylaminoethyl) amine (Me6TREN) complex as catalyst at 25 °C in a N,N‐dimethylformamide/water mixture. The molecular weight of the copolymers ranges from 18,000 to 38,000 g mol?1, and the dispersity from 1.10 to 1.28. Micelles are formed by self‐assembly of copolymers in aqueous medium at room temperature, as evidenced by 1H NMR, dynamic light scattering (DLS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The critical micelle concentration determined by fluorescence spectroscopy ranges from 0.0077 to 0.016 mg mL?1. 1H NMR analysis in selective solvents confirmed the core‐shell structure of micelles. The copolymers exhibit a lower critical solution temperature (LCST) between 32.1 and 32.8 °C. The micelles are spherical in shape with a mean diameter between 31.4 and 83.3 nm, as determined by TEM and DLS. When the temperature is raised above the LCST, micelle size increases at high copolymer concentrations due to aggregation. In contrast, at low copolymer concentrations, decrease of micelle size is observed due to collapse of PNIPAAm chains. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. True model linear poly(styrene‐b‐dimethylsiloxane) PS‐b‐PDMS copolymers were synthesized by using sequential addition of monomers and anionic polymerization (high‐vacuum techniques), employing the most recent experimental procedures that allow the controlled polymerization of each monomer to obtain blocks with controlled molar masses. The model diblock copolymers obtained were analyzed by using different techniques, such as size‐exclusion chromatography, 1H NMR, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, small angle X‐rays scattering (SAXS), and wide angle X‐rays scattering (WAXS). The PS‐b‐PDMS copolymers obtained showed narrow molar mass distribution and variable PDMS content, ranging from 2 up to 55 wt %. Compacted powder samples were investigated by SAXS to reveal their structure and morphology changes on thermal treatment in the interval from 30 to 200 °C. The sample with the highest PDMS content exhibits a lamellar morphology, whereas two other samples show hexagonally packed cylinders of PDMS in a PS matrix. For the lowest PDMS content samples, the SAXS pattern corresponds to a disordered morphology and did not show any changes on thermal treatment. Detailed information about the morphology of scattering domains was obtained by fitting the SAXS scattering curves. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Novel thermoresponsive double‐hydrophilic fluorinated block copolymers were successfully synthesized by reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. Poly[N‐(2,2‐difluoroethyl)acrylamide] (P2F) was synthesized via RAFT polymerization of N‐(2,2‐difluoroethyl)acrylamide (M2F) using 2‐dodecylsulfanylthiocarbonylsulfanyl‐2‐methylpropionic acid (DMP) as the chain transfer agent (CTA) and 2,2′‐azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as the initiator. The resulting P2F macroCTA was further chain extended with N‐(2‐fluoroethyl)acrylamide (M1F) to yield poly{[N‐(2,2‐difluoroethyl)acrylamide]‐b‐[N‐(2‐fluoroethyl)acrylamide]} (P2F‐b‐P1F) block copolymers with different lengths of the P1F block. Molecular weight and molecular weight distribution were determined by gel permeation chromatography. The average molecular weight (Mn) of the resulting polymers ranged from 2.9 × 104 to 5.8 × 104 depending on the length of the P1F block. The molecular weight distribution was low (Mw/Mn = 1.11–1.19). Turbidimetry by UV‐Visble (UV‐Vis) spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, and in situ temperature‐dependent 1H NMR measurements demonstrated that the P2F block underwent a thermal transition from hydrophilic to hydrophobic, which in turn induced self‐assembly from unimers to aggregates. Transmission electron microscopy studies demonstrated that polymeric aggregates formed from an aqueous solution of P2F‐b‐P1F at 60 °C were disrupted by cooling down to 20 °C and regenerated by heating to 60 °C. Temperature‐triggered release of a model hydrophobic drug, coumarin 102, was also demonstrated. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2013  相似文献

The controlled nitroxide‐mediated homopolymerization of 9‐(4‐vinylbenzyl)‐9H‐carbazole (VBK) and the copolymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) with varying amounts of VBK were accomplished by using 10 mol % {tert‐butyl[1‐(diethoxyphosphoryl)‐2,2‐dimethylpropyl]amino} nitroxide relative to 2‐({tert‐butyl[1‐(diethoxyphosphoryl)‐2,2‐dimethylpropyl]amino}oxy)‐2‐methylpropionic acid (BlocBuilder?) in dimethylformamide at temperatures from 80 to 125 °C. As little as 1 mol % of VBK in the feed was required to obtain a controlled copolymerization of an MMA/VBK mixture, resulting in a linear increase in molecular weight versus conversion with a narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw /Mn ≈ 1.3). Preferential incorporation of VBK into the copolymer was indicated by the MMA/VBK reactivity ratios determined: rVBK = 2.7 ± 1.5 and rMMA = 0.24 ± 0.14. The copolymers were found significantly “living” by performing subsequent chain extensions with a fresh batch of VBK and by 31P NMR spectroscopy analysis. VBK was found to be an effective controlling comonomer for NMP of MMA, and such low levels of VBK comonomer ensured transparency in the final copolymer. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of novel amphiphilic diblock copolymers composed of hydrophilic linear poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and linear brush hydrophobic polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) were synthesized. Three different molecular weights of monomethyl ether PEG were initially functionalized with 2‐bromoisobutyryl bromide to afford macroinitiators suitable for atom‐transfer radical polymerization. The macroinitiators were characterized by gel permeation chromatography, 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopic analysis and matrix‐assisted laser desorption ionization time‐of‐flight mass spectroscopy. The three different molecular weight macroinitiators were then chain extended with monomethacryloxypropyl‐terminated PDMS and photoactive 2‐(methylacyloyloxy)ethyl anthracene‐9‐carboxylate in different molar ratios to afford a series of photoresponsive amphiphilic diblock copolymers with high conversions. Self‐assembly of these linear–linear brush diblock copolymers in N,N‐dimethylformamide afforded nanoparticles with hydrodynamic diameters (dH) ranging from 41 to 268 nm, as determined by dynamic light scattering analysis. Crosslinking and stabilization of the nanoparticles was achieved via [4+4] photodimerization of the anthracene moieties upon exposure to UV radiation at 365 nm with the reverse reaction studied at a wavelength of 254 nm. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that the self‐assembled nanoparticles and their crosslinked derivatives had spherical morphologies. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym.
