The regularized near-cloak via the transformation optics approach in the time-harmonic electromagnetic scattering is considered. This work extends the existing studies mainly in two aspects. First, it presents a near-cloak construction by incorporating a much more general conducting layer between the cloaked and cloaking regions. This might be of significant practical importance when production fluctuations occur. Second, it allows the cloaked contents to be both passive and active with an applied current inside. In assessing the near-cloaking performance, comprehensive and sharp estimates are derived for the scattering amplitude in terms of the asymptotic regularization parameter and the material tensors of the conducting layer. The scattering estimates are independent of the passive/active contents being cloaked, which implies that one could nearly cloak arbitrary contents by using the proposed near-cloak construction.  相似文献

Summary. In this paper we perform an asymptotic study of the Maxwell equations with respect to the small parameter where is the characteristic velocity associated with the physical problem and is the speed of light. This enables us to derive the quasistatic and Darwin models as respectively first and second order approximations of the Maxwell equations. Moreover, an interpretation of the obtained variational formulations gives us the appropriate boundary conditions for these models. Received May 18, 1995  相似文献

Summary In this paper, we introduce and analyze the interior penalty discontinuous Galerkin method for the numerical discretization of the indefinite time-harmonic Maxwell equations in the high-frequency regime. Based on suitable duality arguments, we derive a-priori error bounds in the energy norm and the L2-norm. In particular, the error in the energy norm is shown to converge with the optimal order (hmin{s,}) with respect to the mesh size h, the polynomial degree , and the regularity exponent s of the analytical solution. Under additional regularity assumptions, the L2-error is shown to converge with the optimal order (h+1). In this paper, we study the Cauchy problem of semilinear heat equations. By introducing a family of potential wells, we first prove the invariance of some sets and isolating solutions. Then we obtain a threshold result for the global existence and nonexistence of solutions. Finally we discuss the asymptotic behavior of the solution.  相似文献

We develop a new multiwave version of the range test for shape reconstruction in inverse scattering theory. The range test [R. Potthast, et al., A ‘range test’ for determining scatterers with unknown physical properties, Inverse Problems 19(3) (2003) 533–547] has originally been proposed to obtain knowledge about an unknown scatterer when the far field pattern for only one plane wave is given. Here, we extend the method to the case of multiple waves and show that the full shape of the unknown scatterer can be reconstructed. We further will clarify the relation between the range test methods, the potential method [A. Kirsch, R. Kress, On an integral equation of the first kind in inverse acoustic scattering, in: Inverse Problems (Oberwolfach, 1986), Internationale Schriftenreihe zur Numerischen Mathematik, vol. 77, Birkhäuser, Basel, 1986, pp. 93–102] and the singular sources method [R. Potthast, Point sources and multipoles in inverse scattering theory, Habilitation Thesis, Göttingen, 1999]. In particular, we propose a new version of the Kirsch–Kress method using the range test and a new approach to the singular sources method based on the range test and potential method. Numerical examples of reconstructions for all four methods are provided.  相似文献

The Bochner-Martinelli (B.-M.) kernel inherits, forn2, only some of properties of the Cauchy kernel in . For instance it is known that the singular B.-M. operatorM n is not an involution forn2. M. Shapiro and N. Vasilevski found a formula forM 2 2 using methods of quaternionic analysis which are essentially complex-twodimensional. In this paper, variational iteration method (VIM) is used to obtain numerical and analytical solutions for the Zakharov–Kuznetsov equations with fully nonlinear dispersion. Comparisons with exact solution show that the VIM is a powerful method for the solution of nonlinear equations.  相似文献

We show that the only locally integrable stationary solutions to the integrated Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation in R and R2 are the trivial constant solutions. We extend our technique and prove similar results to other nonlinear elliptic problems in RN.  相似文献

We develop a constructive framework to define difference approximations of Dirac operators which factorize the discrete Laplacian. This resulting notion of discrete monogenic functions is compared with the notion of discrete holomorphic functions on quad-graphs. Our main interest is an analog of a Cauchy-type integral for the theory of the Moisil-Theodoresco system of differential equations in the case of a piecewise-Lyapunov surface of integration. The topics of the paper concern theorems that cover basic properties of this Cauchy-type integral: the Sokhotskii-Plemelj theorem for it as well as a necessary and sufficient condition for the possibility of extending a given Hölder function from such a surface up to a solution of the Moisil-Theodoresco system of partial differential equations in a domain. A formula for the square of a singular Cauchy-type integral is given. The proofs of all these facts are based on intimate relations between the theory of the Moisil-Theodoresco system of partial differential equations and some versions of quaternionic analysis.  相似文献

We present numerical results concerning the solution of the time-harmonic Maxwell equations discretized by discontinuous Galerkin methods. In this paper, the first integral method is used to construct exact solutions of the Hamiltonian amplitude equation and coupled Higgs field equation. The first integral method is an efficient method for obtaining exact solutions of some nonlinear partial differential equations. The variational iteration method is used to solve three kinds of nonlinear partial differential equations, coupled nonlinear reaction diffusion equations, Hirota–Satsuma coupled KdV system and Drinefel’d–Sokolov–Wilson equations. Numerical solutions obtained by the variational iteration method are compared with the exact solutions, revealing that the obtained solutions are of high accuracy. He's variational iteration method is introduced to overcome the difficulty arising in calculating Adomian polynomial in Adomian method. The method is straightforward and concise, and it can also be applied to other nonlinear evolution equations in mathematical physics.  相似文献

We consider higher-order Camassa-Holm equations describing exponential curves of the manifold of smooth orientation-preserving diffeomorphisms of the unit circle in the plane. We establish the existence of global weak solutions. We also present some invariant spaces under the action of the equation. Moreover, we prove a “weak equals strong” uniqueness result.  相似文献

A class of integral equations without monotonicity is investigated. It is shown that there is a spreading speed c>0 for such an integral equation, and that its limiting integral equation admits a unique traveling wave (up to translation) with speed c?c and no traveling wave with c<c. We establish the basis of a discrete function theory starting with a Fischer decomposition for difference Dirac operators. Discrete versions of homogeneous polynomials, Euler and Gamma operators are obtained. As a consequence we obtain a Fischer decomposition for the discrete Laplacian.  相似文献

In this paper, we announce several new results concerning the cohomology of the variational bicomplex for a second-order scalar hyperbolic equation in the plane. These cohomology groups are represented by the conservation laws, and certain form-valued generalizations, for the equation. Our methods are based upon the introduction of an adapted coframe for the the variational bicomplex which is constructed by generalizing the classical Laplace transformation used to integrate certain linear hyperbolic equations in the plane.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the continuous dependence with respect to the initial data of the solutions for the 1D and 1.5D relativistic Vlasov–Maxwell system. More precisely, we prove that these solutions propagate with finite speed. We formulate our results in the framework of mild solutions, i.e., the particle densities are solutions by characteristics and the electro-magnetic fields are Lipschitz continuous functions.  相似文献
