A necessary and sufficient condition is established for the equilibrium of the oscillator of half-linear type with a damping term, (?p(x))+h(t)?p(x)+?p(x)=0 to be globally asymptotically stable. The obtained criterion is given by the form of a certain growth condition of the damping coefficient h(t) and it can be applied to not only the cases of large damping and small damping but also the case of fluctuating damping. The presented result is new even in the linear cases (p=2). It is also discussed whether a solution of the half-linear differential equation (r(t)?p(x))+c(t)?p(x)=0 that converges to a non-zero value exists or not. Some suitable examples are included to illustrate the results in the present paper.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the operator equation in a real Banach space E with cone P: where A = KF; here K is a e-positive, e-continuous and completely continuous operator, and F is a strictly increasing and continuous operator which is Fréchet differentiable at θ. Under certain conditions, we show that the operator equation has at least three solutions x1, x2, x3 such that x1P, x2 ∈ (−P), x3E\(P ∪ (−P)). Now since the third solution x3E\(P ∪ (−P)), we call it a sign-changing solution. As an application of the main results, we investigate the existence of sign-changing solutions for some three-point boundary value problem.  相似文献

The term dual string for scalar strings was introduced in [KK1], where some connections between the spectra of a string and its dual were studied. In [KK2] it was shown that if () is a spectral function of a scalar stringS 1 with nonnegative spectrum (in the sense of [KK2]), then the function
is a spectral function of the string (S d)0 which isfully dual toS 1. This result was generalized to regular matrix strings with continuous invertible matrix densities by H. Dym and L. A. Sakhnovich [DS]. In the present work we generalize in part the mentioned result from [DS] to matrix strings that may be singular, and may have matrix density that is everywhere discontinuous and noninvertible on a set of positive measure.  相似文献

Let (A,*) be an involutive ring. Then the groups Sl *(2, A), are a non commutative version of the special linear groups Sl(2, F) defined over a field F. In particular, if A = M(n, F) and * is transposition, then Sl *(2, M n (F)) = Sp(2n, F). The above groups were defined by Pantoja and Soto-Andrade, and a set of generators for the group SSl *(2, A) (which is either Sl *(2, A) or a index 2 subgroup of Sl *(2, A)) was given in the case when A is an artinian ring. The iterative method of successive approximations, originally introduced by Émile Picard in 1890, is a basic tool for proving the existence of solutions of initial value problems regarding ordinary first order differential equations. In the present paper, it is shown that this method can be modified to get estimates for the growth of solutions of linear differential equations of the typef(k)+Ak−1(z)f(k−1)+?+A1(z)f+A0(z)f=0 with analytic coefficients. A short comparison to the growth results in the literature, obtained by means of different methods, is also given. It turns out that many known results can be proved by applying Picard?s successive approximations in an effective way. Self-contained considerations are carried out in the complex plane and in the unit disc, and some remarks about solutions of real linear differential equations are made.  相似文献

A method which provides necessary conditions to obtain a local analytic first integral in a neighborhood of a nilpotent singular point is developed. As an application we provide sufficient conditions in order that systems of the form where Pn and Qn are homogeneous polynomials of degree n = 2, 3, 4, 5 have a local analytic first integral of the form H=y2+F(x, y), where F starts with terms of order higher than 2. We remark that, in general, the existence of such integral is only guaranteed when the singular point is a nilpotent center and the system has a formal first integral, see [6]. Therefore, we characterize the nilpotent centers of systems which have a local analytic first integral.  相似文献

In this paper we study the existence of positive solutions of the following operator equation in a Banach space E: where G(x, λ) = λKFx+e0, K: EE is a linear completely continuous operator, F: PE is a nonlinear continuous , bounded operator, e0E, λ is a parameter and P is a cone of Banach space E. Since F is not assumed to be positive and e0 may be a negative element, the operator equation is a so-called semipositone problem. We prove that under certain super-linear conditions on the operator F the operator equation has at least one positive solution for λ > 0 sufficiently small, and that under certain sub-linear conditions on the operator F the operator equation has at least one positive solution for λ > 0 sufficiently large. In addition, we briefly outline an application of our results which simplify previous theorems in the literature.  相似文献

 We present necessary and sufficient conditions for uniform exponential expansiveness of discrete skew-product flows, in terms of uniform complete admissibility of the pair (c 0(N, X), c 0(N, X)). We give discrete and continuous characterizations for uniform exponential expansiveness of linear skew-product flows, using the uniform complete admissibility of the pairs (c 0(N, X), c 0(N, X)) and (C 0(R +, X), C 0(R +, X)), respectively. For given , c < 0, we are concerned with the solution f b of the differential equation f ′′′ + ff ′′ + g(f ′) = 0 satisfying the initial conditions f(0) = a, f ′ (0) = b, f ′′ (0) = c, where g is some nonnegative subquadratic locally Lipschitz function. It is proven that there exists b * > 0 such that f b exists on [0, + ∞) and is such that as t → + ∞, if and only if b ≥ b *. This allows to answer questions about existence, uniqueness and boundedness of solutions to a boundary value problem arising in fluid mechanics, and especially in boundary layer theory.   相似文献

Summary For the nonlinear system , which has a family { h } of closed orbits, we consider perturbations of the type , whereP andQ are arbitrary polynomials. The abelian integralsA(h) corresponding to this family { h } are investigated. By deriving differential equations forA(h) and proving monotonicity for quotients of abelian integrals, we obtain results on the number of zeros of abelian integrals and, hence, on the number of closed orbits h which persist as limit cycles of the perturbed system (*). In particular, a uniqueness theorem for limit cycles of (*) with quadratic polynomialsP, Q is proved. Moreover, whenP, Q are of arbitrary degree, a lower bound for the possible number of limit cycles of (*) is derived.  相似文献

We prove general existence results for where f and g need not be continuous or monotone. Moreover neither f nor g need be bounded around, respectively, x 0 and x 1, thus allowing singularities in the equation.
